Silvertips
Posted 18 years agoLast journal got deleted. I was trying to edit it - but I'm a bit buzzed so I fucked it up :D.
Lots of great ideas on that list -
Blaster Master
Saga Frontie
Descent
Bionic Commando
aero biz super sonic
Brutal: Paws of Fury
Mutant League Series (oh my GOD yes)
Whiplash
Clayfighter
Vectorman
Chrono Trigger
I know someones going to moan about final fantasy. 2 points - 1) don't remake games for a series still releasing sequels 2) they are already remaking all of their games. I hate Squaresoft with a passion (I don't blame you though Enix, I still love you).
Anyway, just got back from the Silvertips game down in Everett. Was pretty cool even though the Silvertips lost. There was a fight 3 seconds into the first period. In fact by my count (hazy at this point) there where 8 fights.
I ask you. Does this mascot beg to be pornified? http://www.hoteleverett.com/images/silvertips.gif
Yes, I think it does.

Are you some kind of pervert?
Posted 18 years agoThat's a question I'm asking myself right now.
I just got home, nobody is here. I had an entertaining drive on the way home about 30 minutes ago. I passed this group of ladies in those tight black pant things that go to just above the knees. And they where riding along on the sidewalk on their bikes.. No big deal right?
Construction. Okay...construction had slowed traffic so I was keeping pace with this young 18-23 year old pack. My eyes watching them grind into those phallic-shaped seats...I felt like a wolf running along-side a herd of sheep.
The car in front of me slammed on it's breaks to let the jackass who didn't signal cut him off. I slam on my breaks, to not hit him - because my eyes where in a warm soft place located between two cushions that ground together furiously, while another area worked itself against a cushioned seat.
As they turned the corner to head toward the local church, an institution I have no desire to be around, my thoughts crept to sex on the altar, how each of the six could be lured into the church for something ritualistically sacralicious. I played with the idea in my mind, 'surely this is not how normal people think'.
"NO," I said aloud. I knew full well that most would be afraid of being sent to hell by god for performing the very act we where created to perform.
So am I a pervert? Probably. I do wonder how many people think the same way I do. Surely I'm not the only person...
In either case, it was on my chest, it happend, there it is. XD.

Insomnia - Thy Haunting Visage
Posted 18 years ago2:32 AM. A little bit far from the witching hour (which I slept through). I've been having all sorts of trouble sleeping lately. Like tonight I conked out around 9:30 pm and I woke up again at about 12:10 am. Meaning I got 3 hours of rest - uhm yay.
This does not bode well for me, I have to be up before 9 - but it's 3 hours after I woke up (2:35, close enough), and I'm still dead tired, but I can't fall asleep. I'll lay there, tossing and turning, dreading another morning where I will wake up and my back will be stiff and every move brings pain.
What's that you say? Oh that Lapinstein, he's such a baby, whining in his journal about not being able to sleep. I assure you - I may be pissed off that I just cannot sleep like a normal human being, and I am using this journal as a way to relax my mind in the hopes of becoming sleepy again, but I am not crying over the situation.
If nothing else sitting here in darkness reading your guys' comments and journals passes the time quite well. Though I will admit I find a number of journals more of a nuisance than a pleasure. I'm so tempted to say which ones really get me fired up, but in the interest of not starting an epic forest-fire-sized flame-war, I will keep it to myself.
I start work in about 7 hours. I probably didn't say at any point that I had gotten a job. Surprise :D. I'll be working at the college for at least a quarter setting up exhibitions for the school and doing grunt work. Which at a college means you sip soda all day while sitting on your ass and getting payed for it.
It would seem that the first project is setting up Xboxes at the school for the staff to play Halo. What's that you say? Madness? Surely Lapinstein is full of shit - wtf kind of college is that? Well my friend - according to my employer the idea is to get video-games into the hands of a staff that has probably never played one so that they can better identify with the 18-25 crowd. Whatever makes them feel better about getting payed to play video games I suppose...
On another note...Game Fuel. Game Fuel, if you hadn't heard of or seen it, is the newest form of Mountain Dew being used to promote Halo 3. I bought a 12 pack the other day thinking 'well if it sucks I'll drink it when I'm desperate'. Come to find out that it's quite tasty and I've already downed about 5 of them (over a 3 day period). I'm curious about side-effects from game fuel. If anybody has heard about side-effects caused by Game Fuel I would be glad to read them. Why? Oh...no reason XD.

Latest submission, august 26th?
Posted 18 years agoHas it really been that long? Sorry :) you'll have to forgive me, last week I got invited to a weekly Alternity session. I spent most of my time trying to remember how the hell I roll a character, and I think I may join them every Wednesday to help curve my need for social interaction (more so than usual for some reason).
On Friday I went to a baseball game between the Aquasox and the Vancouver Canadians. Aquasox won, there where fireworks afterwards. It was fucking awesome. As a bonus we almost saw a granny get knocked in the head by a foul ball because she wasn't paying attention.
Most of the weekend I spent buying swimsuits on Dead or Alive Extreme 2. It's been in my library for a while and I want my dadgum achievement points from that game (in related achievement point news, I finally collected the 12th and final achievement for Symphony of the Night by beating Dracula with Richter).
More art coming soon. Ideas abound - there's some pretty kick ass submissions in the submission folder today. I'll be busy for hours masterba...err looking at these. *kekekeke*

Caught up on watchers yay!
Posted 18 years agoThank you all for viewing me. I went through and replied to most. If you think of 'watch-thank-you's' as spam there is an option to remove messages from your page in the control panel (I've made use of it ;) ).
I apologize for any double posts or replies that make no sense (sometimes I type things that I wasn't thinking of typing...ahem).
It took a few hours, I tried to look at as many galleries as I could (as I think it's only right to do so). A lot of you guys have tremendous imagination and I think with a bit more practice I'll feel inadequate when my art is placed next to yours.
Anywho, cheers, I'm going out for a bit of gaming tonight :D

All done, but not done
Posted 18 years agoI passed my portfolio class. Yay! I actually scored higher than the class average (I was shocked). I'm really shy, so I didn't expect to do well.
I found out that I will only get my Associates in Studio arts this quarter, I have to get just 5 more credits (fuck) in an art class to also acquire my AFA (associates in fine arts).
So...Whoopy, I'm out. This feels familiar, like graduating from highschool. I remember almost 10 years ago now, when people said that degree would change my life. After about 8 years of fast food I had stopped believing them. Now with this degree I'm promised much the same, but I have the grades and degree to back that shit up.
So in the next few weeks I'll be in pursuit of a job, I need to raise $380 to take that final drawing class I need. Mmm commissions could be good...I'll be considering it over the weekend... I'll let you know.

Presentations, Old Systems, Math
Posted 18 years agoI'm sitting here listening to the 'Mimiga-Vibe' song from the cave story remix page (preceded by 'El-Phantasmo and the Chicken Run by White Zombie), thinking about tonight.
Yesterday I spent about 2 hours on what I think will be our final math test for this quarter. It was on matrices. ... Matrices aren't too hard really - they're nubcakes compared to the nightmare that logarithms can be.
"What are you writing this for? Jesus Christ just shut up Lapinstein."
I apologize dear reader but this is what a journal is to me. A place to write the events of my life (from a skewed perspective). Besides, I need to do something to partition the anxiety that's building up within my system. For tonight I have a presentation for my portfolio class. I know what you're thinking, oh that shit is easy, getting up in front of a group of 30 people for 10 minutes, all alone, while they look at your work. Sure, it's easy for you. I'm a recluse though, I likes my privacy because it keeps me out of the public eye...
Luckily, I don't have any porn in my portfolio. See, contrary to the internet belief (or by losers with no self-esteem, and that may seem harsh, but the truth often hurts) we 'pornographers' are not limited to simply pornography because we are unoriginal. No. Often times pornography comes from our deep perversion. This seems to be the same dilemma for all porn. Oh man, porn is bad, if you do porn you are bad - and yet it's a profitable industry. So we draw porn because it caters to the audience, and lets face it, it's fun to draw. Where was I? Oh yeah. So yeah there's lots of pastel and charcoal drawings in it. Animated hands, apocolyptic settings with wine and song (yes, really), a few giant squids, and even a few of my anthropomorphic works.
About 3 days ago I went digging through my closet looking for old copies of Thief 1 and Thief 2 (the metal age). Unfortunately I didn't find them. I just beat thief: deadly shadows over the weekend (I've had it for years but never went through it all the way). The story had me hooked, and I was hungry for more. I had to know more about Garrett, his eye, and how he became a thief. While diving through my closet (No I didn't find any skeletons Amber :P) I found some old systems that had been tossed into a box. I decided to hook them up to see if they worked.
SNES - working. I don't remember buying it but apparently I have Dracula X, Starfox, Final Fantasy 2, and Super-Mario All-Stars.
N64 - working. Finally I can play Ogre Battle 64. I remember buying it then never playing it (damn you Everquest). My only regret with this system was that I didn't own more games. I lent out Doom 64 and never got it back (damn it). I plan to go down to my local vidja game store and see about finding a copy of 'Blast Corps' and Killer Instinct (unless KI makes it to the Xbox live arcade as rumored).
Dreamcast - WOOT! I was so thrilled when this thing spun right up. It has been thrown around quite a bit and my experience with cd-based systems is that they're pretty frail. I looked at my ps2 with disgust when my Dreamcast lit-up with nary a protest. See, I have gone through 2 ps1's and 2 ps2's. Sony can't make a product that works for shit. I glared at my Xbox 360 too...afterall it wasn't the original I had bought either. I don't have many games for my dreamcast, I have Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, and I have Soul Caliber 2. My apologies Nintendo Fanboys (myself included) but the Dreamcast version of this game is superior to the Gamecube version.
I found my old 8-bit nes too, but no reason to hook that up. Even though Shingen The Ruler looks enticing.../drool.
Alright, that might be enough blabbing for now. It has helped my anxiety about standing before a crowd of strangers greatly. Thank you.

Mac Screens make me jealous
Posted 18 years agoI'm at school right now in the computer lab, passing the time. I had thought about going through and replying to all of those who had watched me (and believe me I will), but I didn't think it would be a good idea due to the sexual nature of a lot of the art here.
Which isn't to say any of it is wrong - but we live in a society where guns, drugs, swear words, and death are all seen in the movies, but something as innocent as sex is 'horrid' and unspeakable.
Anyway, I guess I should address the title of this journal. Mac screens. Our school uses Macintosh computers. I've been wanting to get one (how cool, the whole machine is just the monitor!), but I'm just drooling looking at other peoples art and my own. It's crystal-clear. You can SEE the details. Oh my god. It makes such a huge difference.
I'm currently using an older Samsung flat panel monitor at home. It has served me well. Compared to this though the screen is 'murky' and I don't really see a lot of the details I'm seeing here while I draw.
Mmmm, I'm fantasizing about having money. Soon, my precious...soon. :-O~ oh yes...
Moving on. I appreciate all the comments you guys leave, whether positive or negative. I find the feedback very helpful (and why should an artist get pissed at people who appreciate their art? It's those people who keep us in business, and in my case, it's an extreme form of encouragement. Mind you - creepy stalker attention is still not wanted). Please keep them coming - I'd like to do more OC sessions just as soon as I get my hamachi fixed (Shaw :P).
I hate to sound like a math nerd but I'm completely enjoying my College Algebra class this quarter. Why? Well it's hard to say. Numbers are such a stable thing, they behave the way you want them to behave. Sure it's easy to mix up some steps or go about something the wrong way, but you can always count on going through the process of solving an exponential equation and getting an answer that makes the original work. As stupid as it sounds, something structured like this makes a lot of sense to me and brings a bit of order at a time where I feel very uncertain about the future.
Yes, this man is crazy. He's reassured by logarithms. What? :P
I graduate from college next week. How crazy is that? I still hope to go on to get my bachelors degree next year - but till then I'll be out and about searching for a job. Hopefully I won't spam this FA account with angst-ridden art 'why won't they hire me? Just cause I didn't shave or dress appropriately :( racists, it's because I'm white'.
So...question for those that actually read the journal...What needs to be drawn? I may just do it.

Muse: From Jak and Daxter
Posted 18 years agoI took a few screencaptures of Muse on a speed run that I found over at http://speeddemosarchive.com.
You can see them here. http://img230.imageshack.us/my.php?.....icturesor3.jpg.
My version is here. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/649042/
It seems like hardly anybody remebers her. My version isn't exactly the same (color isn't as yellow and is missing spots, oh yeah, and BOOBS :P).

The Simpsons: The Movie colon for theaters
Posted 18 years agoI've seen 2 movies so far this summer that really disappointed me.
The first was the ATHF movie, and with expectations that only stoners watch the show (I'm not a stoner, fuck movie critics and their generalizations), the movie was a humongous turd.
The second, is the Simpsons movie. With the many many rave reviews written at Rottentomatoes.com, I had held a glimmer of hope that perhaps all the previews I'd seen on TV where not the best parts.
Well, they where. If you've seen the multiple commercials that preview the movie, you've already seen everything the movie has to offer. Expect absolutely nothing new as the Simpson's replug their television show with tidbits stolen from scripts long past. There's even a moment at the beginning of the movie where Homer calls the audience a bunch of idiots for sitting through the same 'boring' thing over and over again. How right you are Homer.
The movie is funny in parts, with a large pool of Simpson characters to file through, and endless script possibilities, but the writers of the movie only manage to replay a theme carried by one of the very earliest Simpsons episodes. That being: The pollution of Lake Springfield.
All in all, this movie fails to make the Simpsons worthy of the silver-screen. The endless possibilities of signifying the world take-over of Fox's flagship family are not realized, and stripped to it's core it's nothing more than a half-assed attempt to milk any fans they may have left, before they reach the 2 decade mark.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Other stuff. I bought the newest offering from Bad Relgion. This cd is called 'New Maps of Hell'. I had to laugh at the sticker on the cover: "'Punk rock 'heroes' Bad Religion are back with a vengeance unmatched since their 'fiery' beginnings."
This is how I read it. "Punk Rock Heroes (lawl, roll d20 for success) Bad Religion are back (this is what? their 13th cd?) with a vengeance (KHAN!!!!) unmatched since their 'fiery' beginnings (What? They crawled out of hell, or performed while doused in gasoline and lit on fire?)".
I dunno, it just seems so fucked up to me to have a punk-cover with such sensational bullshit on it. I haven't listened to it yet. I do love Bad Religion, don't get me wrong, but this is about as stupid as all the dumbass-"punks" who think that the 2nd coming of Mr. Brett completely revived the band.
I guess I'm feeling ranty today. Sorry :P
Other stuff. I bought the newest offering from Bad Relgion. This cd is called 'New Maps of Hell'. I had to laugh at the sticker on the cover: "'Punk rock 'heroes' Bad Religion are back with a vengeance unmatched since their 'fiery' beginnings."
This is how I read it. "Punk Rock Heroes (lawl, roll d20 for success) Bad Religion are back (this is what? their 13th cd?) with a vengeance (KHAN!!!!) unmatched since their 'fiery' beginnings (What? They crawled out of hell, or performed while doused in gasoline and lit on fire?)".
I dunno, it just seems so fucked up to me to have a punk-cover with such sensational bullshit on it. I haven't listened to it yet. I do love Bad Religion, don't get me wrong, but this is about as stupid as all the dumbass-"punks" who think that the 2nd coming of Mr. Brett completely revived the band.
I guess I'm feeling ranty today. Sorry :P
Awesome music for an awesome game. I use it to draw ^.^. I was listening to 'Never Die' and it reminded me of it.
Pleebs, if you've known about this forever, that's nice. This is for those that are interested in something that they may not have had before XD.
Yup, I flee now *run*
Independance day, ground zero
Posted 18 years agoI'm back from the party. I couldn't drink while I was there, I had to drive home, but I did take a few beers before I left and I'm about to start working on them.
I showed up first - I wanted a good parking spot. Hung out a bit, and after a while we heard people talking and walking up. We where on the back porch so I yelled out 'We're back here you motherfuckers!'. I looked up and the old lady next door was cleaning her dishes with her window open and she looked at me XD.
Anywho, as the night went on, this other guy I know named Josh, got blitzed out of his mind. He started talking in German and using his beer cap as a monocle. As time went by we talked about lots of shit. Then the fireworks arrived with Pat.
Halfway through the fireworks, these two guys come riding by on their bikes (y'know riding in the dark, in the middle of the night, on the 4th of july) and for no reason at all, Josh makes a swooping motion with his beer in hand and splatters this guy all over his side with the liquid. Come to find out it was some dude biking around with his son. This is where the evening invariably got interesting as a fight almost broke out - but alas, it did not. The encounter ended with the guy saying 'you're lucky that my son is here, you son of a bitch' and taking off.
That was my 4th of July. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a few beers with muh name on them. Cheers, and happy 4th of july /salute.
Ocremix.org - Music for the 8 bit geek in you (edited)
It's been up for a while, but that doesn't make a website 'old'.
Folks, it's important to realize that all corners of the internet are not known to everybody :P.
That is all
*End Edit*
Video game music is very cool, Especially when it's from some of the best games ever made.
I'm not sure these links will work, but if they don't, just cruise ocremix.org and download everything :P. These are some of my favs. (hit the download tab)
Wizards and Warriors Theme
Castlevania "Cursed Bloodlines"
Super Mario Brothers 2 (Doki doki panic)
Anywho, it looks like they have a new 'preview player' up which you can listen to at lowered quality. If you have a nice sound system though (with a subwoofer preferably) these are all great. ^^ I'm off to take a test, ta~
something to watch and some quick notes
Wow. You know, I really miss the time before computers. This is class.
Expect a very quiet evil hare (me O ) for a little while. I have started some requests and whatnot, but I'm having a big problem at the college at the moment. Namely that I will graduate this quarter, but I've reached the cut-off point for financial aid. I have to appeal for more money or I'm going to have to go out and get a job (not complaining. I'll just have to do it) and pay for it myself.
I'll be dropping in to look at everyones art and make comments as usual ^^.
Anywho, see you soon.
So I will probably get around to that very soon. hehe, bear with me, there are over 700 messages to go through (mostly because ya'll that I watch write and draw so much which is great!).
Money money money....MONAY
Posted 18 years agoSo the weekend was full of OC goodness. I'm 2 weeks away from being out of spring quarter with 3 A's...
Damn this last weekend sucked though. I needed the OC's, thanks to those who participated.
I got charged 3 times on my car insurance. I sent them a check, they didn't get it, but there was a chance that they still would and if they had deposited it, I would be charged by my bank ($33 over-drafting fee). I got a call from them about paying my insurance (since they supposedly never got the check) so I tried to pay the bill over the phone, problem is, the messaging service hung up on me and I had no idea if the payment went through...
So I got online and payed it there with my debit card (note to self: do that from now on).
Today I had to go down to the bank and put a stop on the first check (lawl $29 fee), and ask if they'd put a stop on the emergency transaction I gave them permission to do over the phone (another $25 fee). For those keeping score that's $54.
I guess $54 isn't too bad to keep them from raping me out of almost $700 worth of over-drafting fees and such. aha...
There is some light at the end of the tunnel. When I got done down at the college I walked out to my car and I had gotten a $20 ticket for pulling through to park in a one way lane. AAHAHAHAHAH...
Shit...
Anywho, back to the art. I want to draw more, I just don't have any ideas lately. Considering opening up trades during the summer: but that decision is still pending. See..in order for art to happen, this fluffy little black/white bunny we call Topher needs some degree of comfort going on. Right now it's a bit out of whack XD. I'll let you know though.
Sleepy Morning Musing
Posted 18 years agoAh waking up at 5:30 am is LOVELY (looks over at warm bed - whimper).
One thing I'm sure you've noticed about the various furry porn that is out there is a general theme of using the same characters over and over again.
For example, how many different renamon pictures have you seen? Renamon? Rouge? I know there are a great deal of popular artists whom release something and the hordes of followers they enjoy climb all over themselves to be the next to draw it.
This reads like a negative spin on such activity (on the contrary I fully support this mode of expression), however, my question is this: What characters in your mind are out there - and are long overdue to be sucked into the fandom (take that as literally as you wish)?
some survey thing
Posted 18 years ago>Silly Questions<
(1) What is your name?
Topher
(2) What is your quest?
to abandon values that defy reason.
(3) What is your favorite brand of paste?
There's always crest by the sink, and I use it, but why would you have a favorite brand of paste? Is it tastey?
(4) What is the average air speed of an unladen swallow?
European or African?
(5) How old is your mother?
48
(6) What is your favorite flavor of chocolate?
chocolate is chocolate. Truth be told I only like chocolate sometimes.
(7) Where are your pants?
on the floor, I'm in my briefs man :P
(8) What is your uncle's middle name?
I have 14 uncles.
(9) Are you answering my questions seriously?
I'm waiting for some serious questions first.
(10) What is your second favorite color?
black, red, white, yellow are my first 4 favorite, in no particular order.
(11) If you had to choose from being mauled by a bear and being clawed to death by a rake what would you choose?
wait...*reads the question* If you had to choose from being mauled by a bear AND being clawed to death by a rake...shouldn't that be or? That's clearly only one option, I choose the one that isn't listed.
(12) If you won the lottery, what would buy/do with the money?
If I won like some outrageous amount I'd send a million to every friend I had. Otherwise I'd buy a house and pay to go to an art school.
(13) When was the last time you had a perverted thought?
Pff. Moments ago.
(14) If you had the choice of going out with Michel Jackson or kissing a really ugly homeless girl who smelled like approximately 57 different guys, what would you do? (If you don't want to answer because of issues you have with ugly homeless girls I'll understand)
I'd go out with Michel Jackson. I don't have to do anything with him so it's better than kissing a toothless old skank.
(15) Is there some reason why you're putting out that grease fire with ethanol?
Isn't it obvious?
>Serious questions<
1) Who's your favorite author?
Eve Forward.
2) What style of books does he/she write?
She writes fantastic fantasy books. And by books I mean 2 books. Villains by Necessity is about evil trying to save the world from good (because good finally won). It's been a while since I read it) unfortunately a sequel (which it's ready for by the end) doesn't seem to be coming.
3) If you were stranded on a deserted island with 50 years worth supply of water and food. Who do wish was on the island with you? (everybody on the earth is not an acceptable answer)
Cable guy of course. Hook us up an internet connection made of coconuts and bamboo you lazy bastard. The FA folks await our arts.
4) What do you wish was different about your appearance?
Mmm nothing really. I just need to shed a few pounds ^^.
5) Have you done anything in the past that you should be proud of but aren't?
Probably lots of things.
6) Have you done anything you should regret but don't?
Lots of things. :)
7) What is your favorite hobby?
drawing and writing.
8) Have you ever had a brush with death? If so, how old were you and what was the cause?
I've been hit by a car twice. Once when I was younger, and then when I was about 23 I was hit by a truck.
9) How many people do you live with?
3. Mom dad bro.
10) Where do you wish you lived?
In the middle of a piece of 150 acre land.
11) When did you first discover you were different from the "normal" crowd.
I'm probably as normal as they come. I like to think I'm different though.
12) What was the worst case of depression you've ever had?
When I was a teenager, it lasted for a few years.
13) Have you ever scared yourself?
If I watch ghost shows and stuff my imagination scares the hell out of me :P.
14) How would you define your personality?
arrogant
15) Which famous celebrity are you told you most resemble?
I haven't been told that before. Besides, if someone did tell me that I most likely wouldn't have a clue what they where talking about, I believe celebrity worship is icky.
Not taggin' anyone with this ^^
Some of these look pretty challenging :). Other than the artistic possibilities it's an interesting read.
Anywho, back to the grind. :)
Posted 18 years agoI went through the monster task of replying to over 200 messages over the weekend. 'Surely I'm done' I thought.
Nope!
So I'll be replying to things slowly as the week progresses. Expect more art probably next week. I have 2 tests at school and a 10 page report to turn in.
