2026 will be an interesting year. There is a good chance that my book will be completed. I can't make any promises, but I do have some big plans in the pipeline.

So, what's on the agenda? Of course, the proofreading continues. I'm currently working on chapter 45 of 66. However, as I want to achieve the best possible result, I have already contacted a professional editor. She will read my book again and make corrections and suggestions for improvement. This work will begin in early March. Unfortunately, this means a large investment for me (probably around 5,000 €). However, I was aware of this from the very beginning and I believe it is worth the money. I repeat: I want to achieve the best possible result. For this purpose, I may use crowdfunding to help me with the financing.

The cover of my book is basically finished. A few minor details are missing, but that can wait. I think I'll take care of that once the book has been completely proofread.

I am sticking to my original plan to publish the book in my native language (German) first. Unfortunately, my contacts with German agencies have not been fruitful. I will try again in 2026. But I am not a fool. I know that my target audience is out there in the big wide world. Another thing I have decided to do is to contact an international publisher. I have already found a suitable publisher who is familiar with topics such as fantasy and furry. I would like to make contact with them in January.

Well, those are my plans for 2026. I'll keep you posted.

Meanwhile: Proofreading is progressing slowly, but mainly because I was distracted by other things. Starting today or tomorrow at the latest, I'll be back on track.

A little update regarding my novel: I'm currently proofreading chapter 28 of 66 (as of: August 18, 2025). Slowly inching forward. Despite these efforts, I will hire a professional editor to help me with the publication (I already have someone in mind).

In my latest article, I take a look at the inhabitants of my world and the world itself, starting with the school of Kilima. Even though I don't introduce any specific character, there's a lot to discover about the daily life at the school of the beasts. My deep dive into Fur Affinity has been great so far. The concept art was well received, and the feedback was overall positive. Even if it's easy to hit a “like” button because someone likes the style or content of the art, there seems to be a noticeable interest in the novel itself. At this point a very big thank you for everyone who showed interest is in order. Your commitment to this content will be my tailwind that will guide me to my destination: The completion of my manuscript.

The next few weeks will be rather tame in comparison. I'm currently out of concept art (about five more pieces are planned and will be created in December/January). I want to write a website about the world of Nyika: Introducing people to the inhabitants of the world (the Beasts), their natural enemies (Pori) and also tell a bit more about the school of Kilima itself. Maybe one or two additional artworks would fit for this plan. We will see…

For now, I will concentrate on finishing the last chapter and the epilogue right after. I will still hang around Fur Affinity browsing through content I enjoy, like and write comments – as you do.
