Cottage in Canada
General | Posted 6 years agoI know I haven't posted here in awhile, and there is A LOT of things that have happened since my last post, but I felt this one was most important to me to get out there...
For those that know me, you have most likely heard me mention the "Cottage up in Canada" which has been my happy place, and honestly the biggest reason to move up North. My hopes were that my family (namely my uncle since he is now sole owner of the cottage) would include me in continuing the legacy, since it was promised to one day be mine by my grandfather and alluded to taking it over from my uncle himself.
Found out last weekend from a neighbor, not even my uncle, that he is selling the place due to not having enough time to spend at the cottage for upkeep (he lives in Florida) and repair costs. This is complete BS since I have been ready and willing to help out for years, but its obvious now that I was never once considered to be a part of this place.
The cottage is in the worst state of disrepair I have ever seen it, and whoever the future owner will be will most likely need to strip everything down to the studs due to the water damage, mold, and rodent infestation I observed while I was there. It sickens me it has gotten this bad when it didn't need to be!
Honestly, I will feel better once its sold, because then I will know he won't have access to it any longer either.

General | Posted 8 years agoWhere do I even begin?!....Hi Lol...
Okay, Ever since graduation (last post) things kind of just went into overdrive! And here I thought I'd actually have MORE time after I was done. Oops :p
Well, to make a long story short, (too late) I was promoted to full time at my architecture job in Baltimore, but wasn't getting the respect or pay grade I deserved. Plus the company was a sinking ship, and I figured in a few months time the place would be bankrupt. So I needed out, but where to go?!
I wanted to be closer to my BF, and Canada, so beginning January 2017 I applied to literally every single architectural firm in New England. That took months of calling people, setting up interviews, being rejected, yadda yadda! I was really hoping to get a job in Maine. Why?! Cause out of all the states I have visited, that was my favorite. Anyways, finally landed two jobs in Maine! I was so excited!! Moved up there in July 2017. Jobs were immediately a bust: one was a summer internship that didn't pay shit, and the other (the money maker) decided not to hire me after I made the move...even though I busted my ass to line that job up!! House I was staying in sold almost immediately upon me arriving so then a mad dash to not only make money, but also find a place to live was top priority.
Found a job in Massachusetts, while still living in Maine. Every week I'd have to travel back and forth (2.5 hour drive one way) for practically no compensation. After the house sold, I was briefly homeless, living in my car, but then eventually I found an apartment in Massachusetts.
All this happening in a span of about a month and a half! Phew!! I think that covers most of that...
So now I am living in Massachusetts, working in Boston at a really nice preservation architecture firm. I have a tiny little apartment that's just me near the Rhode Island border, and everything now is finally on track!
Hopefully soon I can start traveling again and visiting my fuzzy friends :D
So for those who were like "Is Kellogg even a 'thing' anymore?!" This is what's been going on :p

Back from Canada
General | Posted 10 years agoWow what a trip! Quick recap since I just got home a couple hours ago..long drive:
Dec 24-Dec 31 - I spent Christmas week with
sheperd and his family..so much food!! Great to spend time with him and just relax :-D Got to see a big snowstorm...FOOT AND A HALF Whoo!
Dec 31-Jan 3 - Went to Kingston to see my good friends
bt-armistice and
prplhaze for New Years. I was supposed to come back to Maryland, but my job granted me extra time off, so I stayed in Canada. Got to meet a lot of cool peeps, and say hi to some friends I met before. No drinking for me, but I was in suit when the ball dropped.
Jan 2 - We all went to Ottawa for a first time event called Pawprints in the Snow...HAD-A-BLASTIE-BLAST! Everything that is at a convention was there set up in a Legion Building..lots of fun, met MANY people that were awesomesauce!
Today drove 9 hours back..tired and needing to unpack but mostly sad the whole vacay is over.
Next even though will be ANE :-D

School time!
General | Posted 10 years agoWell it's that time again where I have to make my obligatory post about school:
It will be difficult getting in touch with me for the next few months via ALL media, due to starting back to school today. I will be taking Studio AND Thesis..apparently from what I heard this will be the hardest semester I will ever have. Not looking forward to anything about it except its one step closer to graduation.
So I apologize in advance if your trying to reach me and I don't respond right away..or worst case scenario..at all I will try my absolute best in trying to keep in touch with my friends, but please be patient.
Graduation is set for May 2016!!! :-D

Anyone need roomspace at Megaplex?
General | Posted 10 years agoI have a room and need two people. Please PM me for more details if interested.
A place of my own again!!
General | Posted 11 years agoSo I signed the lease, and will be moving into my very own one bedroom apartment on Friday! I'm so excited. Last time I had an apartment of my own was when I first got into the fandom back in 2005...I hardly knew anyone then and things got really lonely. Now 10 years later, I know so many awesome fluffies..I hope some of y'all will come see me :-D
Anthro New England
General | Posted 11 years agoJust a quick note that I will be at ANE 2015, so if you want to come say hi, give a hug (or a grope) please..be my guest :-D I will be arriving Friday morning/afternoon, and leaving Monday. I will just be bringing Kellogg, so hope y'all can make due with just a simple little collie :-3
YAY!

General | Posted 11 years agoGetting over an upper respiratory infection as I right this...
Well, for those that don't know, I moved out of where I had been living for the past 3.5 years and am currently living with a couple friends of mine in Bel Air until March. Then I move in with my good friend
drakien in his new house. Moving, as per usual, sucked...but this time wasn't nearly as bad like it was before in the past. Thanks to
telim for helping me move my bed.
Besides that, I will be starting back to school on the 25th. I'm taking 3 electives this Spring: Work Internship, Art and the Built Environment (online), and Historic Preservation Materials and Techniques which meets Friday mornings. This will be the last bit of electives before I go back to Hell..aka Studio and Thesis...in August. Including this semester, I only have 7 more classes until graduation!! I can't wait to be done!!
As for 2015 cons, I plan on BLFC, Furthemore, maybe AC, and MFF

Fort Misery Partytime 2014!!
General | Posted 11 years agoGotta make a two week trip to see my mom sound at least a LITTLE exciting!
It's that time again..where I travel to sunny Ft. Myers, of my colliehood youth, and see my mom (my grandmother and uncle go to Texas to spend the holidays with my aunt..wtf) And for those who know me..more than 3 hours with her is an endurance run.
Sadly since I will only be in Florida for two weeks (Dec 20-Jan 4) I wont be able to take my Orlando trip to spend time with my friends Maybe something can be arranged..but I need to be at home for Xmas and New Years. If you can visit, you'd definitely be doing me a service.
Other than that, I received my grades this semester...ALL A's WOOT!!!..only 3 semesters left..which is 7 classes..graduation for my masters should be May 2016.
That's about it :-P Happy Holidays Fuzzbutts :3

General | Posted 11 years agoAnother semester...
General | Posted 11 years agoSo yeah, started Fall semester last week. This time I have probably the best schedule I ever had before. I was able to, for the first time, actually have an option as to the times I could go to school. I'm taking ALL electives..this extends my graduation date by another year, but honestly to take Thesis, Studio, AND two electives this semester...I'd die! So I'm taking it a bit easy. This semester I am taking:
History of City and Regional Planning - Wed
Museum Studies - Tues
Internship Credit (basically my job) - Tues, Wed, Thurs
So basically this means that every week until December I will have an awesome 4 day weekend, less gas spent driving in and out of Baltimore (a 2 hour round trip), and without studio my life won't be completely taken over with school work. So I am VERY excited!! :-D
Hopefully this will mean I can still spend time with friends.

General | Posted 11 years agoI had my wisdom tooth and molar removed yesterday after spending over a week in agony when the root was exposed. Surgery was nerve racking, but dentist was extremely nice. I spent all day today sitting at home recovering, but back to work tomorrow.
Right now I am flying high on Ibuprofen and Vicodin :-D Wheeeeee.....

Upstate New York crash space?
General | Posted 11 years agoWould anyone I know from the Upstate New York area..which includes Rochester, Pulaski, 1,000 Islands, Watertown, Oswego, Syracuse, etc...have some crash space for me this Saturday evening (July 5th)?
I'm heading up to my cottage in Canada and it will be a loooong 10 hr drive. I was going to stay in a hotel in Oswego, but figured if I can hang out with someone before crossing the border and breaking up the long drive, t'would be coolness.
If so, let me know through PM please..otherwise enjoy AC :-P

General | Posted 11 years agoFor those that partake of the drink, why knot quench those parched muzzles with a nice tall cup of Kellogg Cum. Tastes just like Fruit Loops..what else would you expect from the cereal doggerz? :3
For those that don't have the option of getting it from the tap...here is how you can make a simple facsimile:
1 part Rumchada
1 part Milk
1 part Loopy Vodka
mix and serve on ice...crushed is best
ENJOY :D
So remember folks to ask for Kellogg Cum at your next party or get together. You'll be glad ya did!

I Got My Bachelors Degree!!!
General | Posted 11 years agoWhew..I finally get a chance to write this thing! On May, 17, 2014 I finally received my Bachelors degree for Architecture and Environmental Design...
I have waited 12 years longer than most to get this damn thing! For those that know me well, you know all the hardships I went through to get this...AND NOW I HAVE IT!!! :-D :-D :-D
But wait there's more...
My job at the architectural preservation firm I intern at asked if I wanted to become full time for the summer! It is still being discussed, and it would still be an internship...but to go from part time to full time is a step in the right direction. Plus for the first time in 4 years I will actually have money to work with for the summer. Meaning...traveling! :D
Reason it took awhile to write this is because I am still in graduate school..my last year of undergrad was also my first year of graduate level..so I got my diploma Saturday, and had to present my final on Monday..I'm telling ya, no rest for the collie.
I am going to be tapering off my studies from 4 courses a semester to 2, this will extend my graduation date for the Masters to May 2016..but 2 years comes and goes quickly, plus I will be a LOT less stressed.
:-D
I want to thank my great friends who came to see me walk:
drakien,
kinshasa,
pinto90,
hell-o-kitty,
exkhaniber,
fmephit, John and Deb,
braniff
Also to the great friend who gave me that extra push to go for my dream
woofer
And to my rock and my sweetness through all this
palominopony
And all my online friends who kept me focused and also added some much needed stress release these past 4 years.
Thank you! Without you all I wouldn't have made it this far 8'D

Doggerz got the flu :-(
General | Posted 11 years agoWent to the doctors today after spending the last 3 days in bed. I knew something was wrong when my lower back was in constant excruciating pain..felt like someone whacked me with a baseball bat...no matter what I did that back pain wasn't going away. I was feeling dizzy, eye sight was blurry, skin sensitive, and that damned awful back pain!
So I get to the doctors, and I have to say for once they were all very helpful. Asked if I needed a wheelchair when I mentioned being dizzy, and gave me a warm blanket when they knew I had to wait. Overall, the doc came back and said I had Influenza B, and was the last reported case this year for the flu season..lucky me.
Work is okay with me taking the time off, and I have an excused note so school can't do anything to me. Although I have a LOT of work I am backed up on. :-/ With graduation around the corner, I can't let my grades slip.
So I have two more days of mandatory rest, took some Ibuprofen and that helped with the back pain a bit.
I also want to give a big thank you to everyone who urged me to see the doctor despite my concerns about the co-pay.

Diploma time
General | Posted 11 years agoOn May 17th, I will finally be receiving my Bachelors degree!! I'm nervous, but very excited. Due to life, etc it has taken me 16 years to get this dang thing, so when I'm walking down the aisle on the 17th I will be beaming from ear to ear :-D
I am trying to get my mom and grandmother up here, but its iffy..my mom keeps coming up with excuses of why she can't come...the rest of my family doesn't want to come up at all (which is basically just my aunt, uncle, and cousin).
Attendance is unlimited (unless there is inclement weather) so anyone reading this who wants to attend, PM me and I will add you to the list of attendees
As for the Masters degree..well, if I take 2 classes in the summer, 4 in the fall, and 4 in the Spring..then I'm done...but that would kill me! Last semester I took 4 grad classes and I never want to go through that hell again. So I plan on taking 2 in the summer, 2 in the fall, 2 in spring..rinse and repeat the last two and THEN I'm done. So basically I will be getting my MArch Summer 2016 instead of 2015. I will be much less stressed and also will have more of a life again in the meantime.
