Posted 11 years agoI'm trying to remain calm under this situation but it's difficult.
I'm trying to submit art but everything's acting all screwy. I need to step away for a bit and come back later. So the art dump might happen today it might not, or maybe I'll just submit a few today and more tomorrow I don't know.

Art Dump Warning...
Posted 11 years agoWell it's about time!
Yeah sorry I haven't been very active on here I've been facing a bunch of problems lately. I haven't been able to work on art much.
So it's about time I post some new stuff after what 2 years. So just a heads up.
Hopefully this will get me out of my hiatus

As Promised, A Study Of James
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, so as promised, I'm going to start this study of the book of James. And with God's grace I will complete this. Hopefully I will find some new insights that I can share with all of you. So without further delay, let's get started.
James Chapter 1
V1. "James, a bond servant of God and of The Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad: Greetings."
Okay so one thing to explain if your not familiar is that like the other epistles (that is from Romans all the way to Jude) are letters, written to specific people. So like any letter, we have the person writing the letter and the people that he's writing to.
So first we have the writer of the letter, James a bondservant of God and of The Lord Jesus Christ. So we see that James is a servant of God The Father, and of The Lord Jesus, God The Son who gave Himself on the cross to save mankind from death.
We also see who James is writing to, the twelve tribes, Aka the Jews. And as we go along through the book, we will see what he's talking about, wisdom, perseverance, and a whole lot of good stuff.
So that's all for now, I will be updating this daily at around 7:00 so be sure to check back here. Hopefully I'll cover more verses than just one next time. So until next time if you need some more on James 1:1 here is a link to a video by a great fellow Christian, Mark Hall from Casting Crowns (great band btw feel free to check their music out)

V2. "My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,"
This is pretty self explanatory, but can sound a little wierd. We're supposed to consider it joy when we are going through trials? Well, yes. And here's why...
V3. "Knowing that the testing of your faith, produces patience."
This is why we can be joyful in tribulation, because we as believers know that God is putting us through this for a reason, and that reason is to give us patience. And patience is actually one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
Galatians 5:22 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, JOY, peace, long suffering (PATIENCE in my ERV)
So basically it's a twofer we produce joy, AND patience and what is better than knowing we are producing good fruit for The Lord? But the real kicker is in the next verse that ties everything together and shows how much God cares for us.
V4. "But let patience have its complete work, that you may be perfect and complete, not lacking anything."
Well first of all the word "perfect" doesn't mean without sin, in this context it means "mature" so patience makes us mature as Christians and that is what God wants, us to be mature and confirmed to the image of Jesus. So with each trial we face, we can be happy in our hearts telling ourselves, "God is testing me, He wants me to grow and wants me to be complete."
It's like the old saying "no pain, no gain" and in this world their is going to be a whole lot of pain. But there can also be a lot of gain, if we just be patient and trust God and get through it without throwing away our faith. We will come out stronger.
And when it's all over and patience is completed, we will be fully mature, and complete and not lacking anything. That is why we should be joyful.
Here is a link for more explanation on this group of verses.

V5. "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask if God, who gives liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
Wow, this verse shows just how good God is, that if we need wisdom in a certain area of life, or if we just need it in general, we can ask God for it and it will be given to us. The verse uses the terms "liberally" and "without reproach" this means He gives it freely and is generous with giving it. "Without reproach" means that He does not criticize or think less of us for asking. (My ERV translates it as he ENJOYS giving wisdom.) so if you need wisdom, you have a guarantee that it will be given to you if you ask. However, there is a certain way in which we must ask. We must ask in faith as will be seen in the next verse.
V6. "But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind."
This is the condition God has when it comes to asking for wisdom. We must ask in faith without any doubt in our mind that God will be true to His promise of giving wisdom to those who ask. It must be a terrible insult to doubt the faithfulness of God and His promises to us. I like the comparison James gives to being in doubt and a wave tossed by the wind. We all can picture just how chaotic a stormy sea is, waves going this way and that and the harsh winds. That is what it is like in the mind of one who doubts, they have no clear direction and are pushed this way and that by their lack of faith.
V7. "For let not that man suppose that he will recieve anything from The Lord;"
As I stated previously, it must be insulting to God when we doubt. I mean faithfulness is one if His attributes, and to doubt his promises is like saying He is fake (I confess that I am guilty of this and the only thing I can do is ask God to forgive me and pray that he will help me in my faith.)
Why should we be rewarded with something like wisdom when we doubt he will even give it to us. But if we ask in faith and believe He will be true to His Word then he will gladly give it to us.
V8. "He is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."
Again, this is referring to doubt. When we have doubt we are tossed this way and that, believing one thing one moment and another thing the next. Only when we have faith in God can we be stable, for He is the truth and a light in the darkness. Doubt makes us unstable and hinders us from completing the tasks God wants us to do and yes, it is very easy to be pushed over.
Now that we've covered this section, I'll leave you another video of Mark Hall's Bible study, in case you'd like more insight.
http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bcUhl1ftbgI
V9. "Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation".
This Is worded a little strangely, first of all it should be noted that "brother" reffers to a brother in Christ. When we accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we are adopted into His family, becoming children of God. So all fellow believers are brothers and sisters in Christ who has allowed us to be adopted into His family.
Next the term "lowly" refers to being poor.
My ERV Bible translates this verse as: "Believers who are poor should be glad that God considers them so important"
So the poor believer should be glad even though he is struggling financially (sound familiar? Kind if goes back to V2.) because in Christ we are given a high position something that is eternal and won't fade away or come and go like finances. It is so wonderful to know that riches will come and go but the place we have with God in His Son Jesus Christ forever.
Speaking of riches coming and going, check out what verse 10 says.
V10. "But let the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away."
In this case, "humiliation" doesn't mean embarrassment it means when they are humbled. Because as a flower in the field, he will pass away. We are all mortal and we will all die someday, and surrounding yourself with riches will not keep you from living any longer. Yet, we tend to get so attached to riches and status, that it inflates our egos and feeds our pride, which is damaging to our walk with Christ. So when we are humbled we should be glad, because God has brought you back onto the road where we have strayed in our pride.
V11. "For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than in withers the grass; its flowe falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits."
Continuing to compare the short lived comfort of riches to flowers that are beautiful one moment then gone the next. We sometimes get so caught up in luxuries that we forget that it can all come to an end in an instant. The verse talks about the rich man perishing in his pursuits. Now, this doesn't mean that if you're rich you are not a child of God, but what it does mean is that it can consume us and we forget that this wealth is really only for a moment. Also, being wealthy tempts us to splurge on things and pursuits that deviate from the way God wants us to live, and if we get off that path, then ultimately we are going to fail.
So in conclusion: be satisfied with what you have but don't let success make you prideful, for then you put emphasis on yourself and not on God providing for you.
V12. "Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has proven his faith, he will recieve the crown of life which The Lord has promised to all who love Him."
This section is talking about temptation. It is a constant and daily battle and we must endur it by remaining faithful to God and keeping to the walk He wants us to have with Him. Temptation is all around us and we might not even know it, sure there is the obvious temptation like the temptation of lust or to steal or to act out it rage. But what about the more subtle temptations, the temptation to doubt or walk away from God? The devil might try to make a believer turn away from God by causing suffering to the point where you become angry at Him or completely turn your back and refuse to believe in Him anymore, that is certainly what he tried to do with Job in the Old Testament.
But if we remain faithful to God, and trust in Christ, we will be blessed.
( I'm going to study this verse a little bit more and update as I learn more.)
So that's all for now, leave me any questions you have or comments or anything and until next time, God Bless you
James Chapter 1

Something I've Been Wanting To Do...
Posted 11 years agoHey everyone, so I've recently started a Bible Study of the book of James and I've thinking of putting notes up on here. That way we can all learn from God's Word.
Also as a little side note. If any of you are in need of prayer, feel free to put it down in the comments. I'd love to pray for you.
So yeah, tomorrow I'll be going through James 1:1 and just continuing from there. I hope you will join me, if not that's fine, but I'd recommend it, it's a really good book :3
Until tomorrow
God bless you all

Also I will probably not be able to do much activity on here til then either.
I'll still be on here periodically, but replying to comments and notes will probably be delayed.
So yeah, that's the deal :(

The Main Reason For My Lack Of Art
Posted 13 years agoyou want to know the truth as to way I'm not posting art? I've said in the past it was because of stress, but there is another reason. It's because I seem to be suffering from a creative crisis, I literally get severely depressed whenever I try to work on art, sometimes it has gotten bad enough to make me cry. I don't have any idea why this is happening. It has gotten so bad that there are times were I absolutely hate my art style. I know that seems alittle extreme, but that's the way it feels.
Again, I have no idea why this is going on, or why it has been so persistant. Every single time I try to work on any art, this happens; I don't know, I don't seem to have any confidence whatsoever, and this leads to anger, depression, and alot of other stuff.
So yeah, I don't know when I will post anything new, I will hopefully be able to post some more during late December to early January, if I can ever get over this whole depression thing.

Apologies For Lack Of Activity...
Posted 13 years agoHey everyone, I just want to say that I'm sorry if I haven't been as active these days, if I haven't been commenting, replying etc. and that I've been becoming "invisible" and out of contact (other than journals). I've been feeling very down lately. Stress, anxiety, and other things have left me depressed and unmotivated. I've also been suffering through the worst art block I have ever had, I haven't really produced any art that I am happy with since July.
so yeah, all these crappy feelings have been affecting me quite a bit.
I am hoping that I will be more active and post new art near Christmas and early January......but I'm not making any promises....hopefully, but I guess I'll just have to see what happens...
