Hello everybody. Since this year was a bust for me art wise, one of my New Years resolutions is to be more productive and interact with you guys more, and I thought I'd get a start on it by asking you what kinds of art would you like me to draw more of in 2021.
Specifically, what kinds of content would you like to see more of? I know I do a variety of themes and subject matter and the reasons that you watched me can be different, so I thought I'd try to get feedback as to what you all like to see.

While is is not an offer to take requests, I will refer to your suggestions when thinking of ideas for personal art.

Also, I feel like I have been drawing a lot more males than females so if you have any suggestions on female characters to do fan art of then you can leave those here too.

Hey everybody, I just wanted to stop by and say Merry Christmas. I know it's very late, but I wanted to write this because I the day might be almost over , but Christmas' meaning is something we can take with us into the New Year. Like the Easter journal, I will be talking about the Biblical story of the holiday, and while it's your choice whether to read on or not, I do invite you to continue. But if you stop here, then I still wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Christmas is a time of joy, giving, and peace and I hope you all managed to find that in your Christmas this year. But I believe that Christmas is also a time of forgiveness.
This whole season, the phrase "peace on earth and goodwill to men" has been in my head and on my heart. After experiencing all the chaos of 2020 it easy to ask where said peace and goodwill are, but after hearing the Christmas story at my church this year, I began to think about it and understood what was meant by those words. These words were sang by angels to shepherds when Jesus was born. As humans, we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23) and the punishment for that is death (Romans 6:23) that's the bad news. But the good news is that on Christmas Day, God gave us what we didn't deserve. Instead of punishment, He gave Hiis Son as a gift, bearing peace and goodwill to us. Christmas is what made our salvation possible because Christ's birth made His death on the cross possible as well as His resurrection. Because of Christmas, there is peace and goodwill because those who have accepted Jesus as their Savior are safe from the punishment of death. We have peace with God and the peace of knowing that even though things are bad right now, it is only a brief moment compared the the eternity of paradise we will have in Heaven. Goodwill is still here because anyone, no matter what you have done in the past, can accept the gift of salvation. Because of Christmas we have Romans 10:9 "If you confess with your mouth 'Jesus is Lord' and believe in your heart God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved"

Hello everyone. I just wanted to give another update to let you know what's up as far as the rest of the year goes. About four months ago, I was hit with a really bad art block that caused me to take an indefinite hiatus. I've been posting stuff these past few months and even though I still have episodes of art block, I've decided to just get back to drawing and, Lord willing, power through it all.

However, I am unsure what the rest of this year is going to look like. I'm going to be fairly busy with IRL stuff for the most of November and December and time to work on art will be limited. While I hope to post a few things at the end of this month, I have already resolved to hold off on that is things get too stressful. If that's happens to be the case then I will probably just wait until December to post a few things and then save anything else for at the end of January.
Plus, I will likely be dialing down posts for the first few months of 2021 to around 3-5 or even 1 if need be. This is so I can, as I've said before, establish a backlog in case I go through another art block. It is also so I can let go of this OCD driven "required number of posts" that I've put on myself.

Lastly, commissions will most likely be closed for the rest of the year as I work on finishing my remaining queue. However, Lord willing, I will be opening for January and work on increasing the speed at which the are completed.

That's pretty much it for now, I just wanted to keep you updated on what the plan is for the next couple of months.

I don’t normally do Birthday journals, but I felt like I’ve been pretty silent here again so I thought this would be a good time to post something. I also just want to say that I’m now just a few years away from 30 and still feel like I’m only 18. Is that weird lol.

So I've been a little out of commission due to getting sick a while back. It's highly likely that it isn't Corona and just a minor cold so there's nothing to worry about. I actually think the worst of it is over, just dealing with a cough and nasal congestion now. Figures that I get sick right as I was about to start up working on commissions again, but I should be able to return to work tomorrow or soon, Lord willing.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to give another update of sorts. I'm still dealing with this art slump and I have decided that I'm going to take some of the stress of myself and just pass on uploading this month. This whole thing has got me terribly stressed out as it is and I don't need the added stress of trying to get enough stuff to post. Plus, since I'm not counting on this being the last time this happens, I want to have back up art in case this happens again.

One other thing, I kind of don't want to have to do this, but if this gets any worse, then I think I'm going to have to take a full break from working on art. I think I'm beginning to get burned out as I constantly feel exhausted after working. I know that if I do this then it will be even longer until I get these commissions done, but if it comes down to it, I will need at least a week to recharge. I am hoping that a break without even thinking about doing anything art related will help so that's basically my backup plan.

I am having another art block/art low, and honestly, I don’t know what to do. I am just so tired of wasting hours with nothing to show for it. I’m sick of not being able to draw for months, then having one month of productivity, only for it to just come back and last for who knows how long.
Drawing is rarely enjoyable for me anymore, even when I am able to get something done. Most times when I even think about drawing I get really bad headaches and sometimes I even feel sick. I’ve been trying to keep silent about it because I didn’t want to have this whole thing happen only a month after returning from my last hiatus, but this has been on my mind for a long time.
It seriously feels like I’ve completely forgotten how to draw and I don’t know what to do, the things I do that used to work aren’t anymore. Instead of getting easier everything has just gotten more and more difficult and I’ve gotten even slower to the point that it takes me eight hours to even finish one sketch if I even finish it at all.

I don’t know if I should take another break, or just stop taking commissions if this is going to keep happening. I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t a part of me that thinks I should just stop drawing all together. I’m just tired of going through this.

Sorry for the rant but I just needed to vent. If any one has any advice on what I should do, that would be appreciated.

This time, in addition to the $10 traditional sketches, I be now offering $15 digital line art commissions. Since I don't have any line art examples, I'll just put the details here. They will be like the sketch commissions except with cleaner line work. Since this is starting off as an experiment, the shading detail will vary depending on what I am able to do, but there will be some varying line width creating shading as well as some of the hatching that I do for shading in the sketches.

Hey everybody, I've been kind of silent here for a while so I just wanted to drop by and give some form of update.
First of all, I'm doing OK, just really frustrated because my WiFi absolutely sucks and also because I've been trying to get a replacement pen for my tablet and that never arrived, so that's been slowing stuff down.

Now, in terms of uploads. I've been holding off uploading for a while because, ever since this massive art block hit, I wanted to create sort of a backlog so that I would have backup art each month in case something like this happens again. I do plan to post either at the end of this month or early next month so as long as things go according to plan then things will start to go back to normal. Well, normal with a few changes.

Regarding commissions, I think I will start offering line art commissions since I want to get some practice with that. I think that line art would be easier to do for the time being since it's been difficult scanning lately. As for sketches, there's a chance that the progress of sketches could slow down a little. I've just been trying to get faster at sketches but I've been thinking that the quality has been going down a little so I might have to devote more time to ensure a better quality picture.

Hello everybody. I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Easter.
With the current situation going on in the world, certain traditions that normally occur on this day may have been cancelled, but I hope you all have a good day and find celebration in these troubling times.

(Also, before you read further, I just want to say this: if you don't believe in God or Jesus, it is your choice on whether or not to read this journal. If you do, that's great, but if not that's your choice, but please don't post any malicious comments. I only wanted to post a journal to lift people's spirits in anyway I can.)

I want to take this time to focus on the reason that this day exists; the reason why today is still Easter despite the current pandemic putting a damper on the candy baskets, Easter egg hunts, and many other traditions. The reason this day exists is that Jesus is alive! This is a day for us to remember the miracle of Jesus' resurrection after dying the sinner's death in our place, declaring that not, not only has He conquered sin but also death. And in His resurrection, we also have hope knowing that all believers have victory over death in Him.

I am just so thankful for this day, and that the true meaning of Easter is eternal and can never be put on hold or cancelled.

I hope that you can find time to reflect on what God has done for us through Jesus Christ. I know that people have different beliefs, but I pray that this journal provides you something positive regardless.

For those of you who are watching both me and  marcushunter you probably know what has happened, but for those who don't know, we just lost our family dog. I feel that my mind still hasn't finished processing what just happened. Everything was normal one minute and then suddenly, she just fell over, started howling and then a minute later she was dead.
My mom said that she and the vet think that it was the sudden onset of a massive seizure. What sucks is that she was healthy apart from having some elbow and joint problems and we had no way of knowing this would happen or any way to help.

I'm sorry, I just can't get my thoughts straight to write much more here. It's most likely going to take me a few days to get through and get used to this.

Hey everyone, I just wanted to post an update on my hiatus. I am so sorry for keeping those I owe commissions waiting, but I've in one of the most frustrating art slumps I've had in a while. I tried working a little throughout the month, but I haven't really been able to make much progress. I think trying to force it has been throwing me off to the point that I start stressing out whenever I take out my art supplies.

I think I need to use this as a sign to focus on other things for a little bit. I am going to try and take around another week or so to have a real break where I think about art as little as possible in order to recharge. Hopefully, I can come back at the start of next month and get these commissions done.

Again, sorry for the long wait, but this is something that I feel I need to do.

I'm asking this because I need some input on this. I've been having this question for a while now. I've tried to develop my style and tried adding more detail to my art, but I just can't seem to get things as detailed as other artists do. Since the New Year, I've been trying different things and have found that I kind of like the way things are going, but I still can't shake the feelings that I need to do better and that if I keep things simple, then that means I'm being lazy and not putting enough effort into things-or that I'm not good enough because I can't do more elaborate things.

So I'm asking your take on this, is art with less detail (fur, muscle, varying line width, etc.) worse than art with more detail?

Hey everyone. So February hasn't been a good month for me. It's been one of those periods of time when I just can't draw anything, and I've been trying to push myself because of art that I owe people, but that has only led to frustration. I feel that I need to take a break from drawing for the moment. I will still work on the commissions that are in the lining stage and maybe spend some time here and there on fixing up the other commissions and stuff, but I think I need to put this on the back burner for now so I can hopefully get my mojo back.

Hopefully I can get motivated and things will start looking right in a little bit.

I've spent to long hating my own art and comparing myself to other artists. It might sound bad, but I just have to accept the fact that this is how I draw and, this might sound bad, I need to accept the possibility that I might never get any better. Here me out, I don't mean that I'm giving up, if somewhere down the line I actually end up improving, then that's great, but spending time worrying about it, comparing and having a depressive episode because I feel stagnant isn't doing anything good.

Don't get me wrong, I will still try to hone things and I don't have any doubts that I will improve in regards to some small things, but if the level I'm at is the limit to my abilities, then I'm just have to be fine with that.

I don't know, I'm just writing down my thoughts right now before I lose them, but I am sick of worrying about it and all the emotional poison that's been growing inside me.

Hey there everyone, so I forgot to post a journal earlier letting you all know that I am back from my trip (I don't know what's wrong with me)

But I had a good time. I got to see family that I don't see very often, especially one family member who we rarely see. Everyone was happy to see him at the reunion. It was a pleasant time overall, a real nice vacation.

Now that I'm back I can get to work with finishing these commissions. I'm going to fight this funk that I've been it for weeks and try to do some writing as well.
