Our Disney World trip.
Posted 13 years agoMerk and I had the best Halloween ever! We spent last week at Walt Disney World, we stayed at the Polynesian Resort which was very exotic and had access to the monorail. The weather was quit pleasant in Florida. We went to all the major parks, but we went to the Magic Kingdom on Halloween. Merk and I visited most of the normal attractions at the Magic Kingdom, but that evening we had tickets to Mickey's not so scary Halloween party. Plenty of "magical" things happened at that party. We will tell you more about that once we go through the 30+ Gigs of pictures and video we brought back. ^^

Posted 13 years agoPost Central Plains Fur Meet
Posted 13 years agoWhat a great weekend we had last week. The Central Plains Fur Meet went better than expected, many came out and kicked it with us for the whole weekend, 48 people and 2 huskies to be exact. Our guest of honor,
has our greatest appreciation for attending our campout.
came through in providing excellent little con books and badges.
,
, and
ran security, nothing happened but we thank them for their service.
The food was good and plentiful.
,
and
were very helpful in the food prep.
helped with pretty much anything we needed. The dances were very fun for the sound system we were using. The weather was warm and windy for the Friday and Saturday. We had some rain Saturday night but it did not last long to ruin anything.
brought his kayaks, they were cool and I tried one out for the first time.
and I will be hosting another CPFM next year around the same time and place. Next year will also be our first CPFC, Central Plains Fur Con. It will be at the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview in Wichita Kansas. It will be held on October 3-7, 2013. The first year theme is Wizard of Paws. More on that and more details about CPFC coming real soon.
Merk and I are also very pleased and thankful for everyone who attended and a special thanks to those who did more than their share in keeping the park clean. Clean up went fast and easy with all the help we got. I was sad to see everyone go but CPFM was a big success.

Some highlights of Wild Nights 2012
Posted 13 years agoWild Nights 2012 was a good success in my opinion. Exploring and climbing the rocks at the cave with my mate and friends was my favorite part of the con. Oki Doki’s old coyote suit was beautifully remade by Eris Valgen. Oki auctioned it off at the Furry Drama Show. It went for $1000, and the unchallenged winning bidder was Keegan. The money will go towards next year’s con, maybe for better t-shirts.
The t-shirts this year were made with iron on transfers. The shirts had good art, but iron on transfers will crack after a few washes.
The Furry Drama Show had some technical difficulties and it was scheduled too late in the evening. The “Geek Platoon” video I made with the help of the Sinners and Saints Pack and Draconis did finally get aired during the show and it got a very good response from the audience. Over all the show went well.
Ipequey grilled some rockin’ steaks and held a beer tasting party. I didn’t like most of the beers but to be honest, I’m not a beer drinker.
The weather was warm with humid afternoons. No storms this year, it did not rain until Monday morning.
I would like to thank the Wild Nights’ staff for organizing another great convention. And I had an awesome time hanging out with my cabin mates who made the con even better. ^^

Wild Nights 2012
Posted 13 years agoMerk and I registered for Wild Nights yesterday, and by the looks of it there will be a good turnout. The last time I checked the Wild Night’s “who’s coming” page, there were 87 people who had already preregistered for this outdoor convention. We have some fun things planned for this con. One of them is a video we made to show at the Furry Drama Show. I am also writing a script for a live skit.
Wild Nights is a chance to get with nature. The park it is held in is breathtaking. The rocks at the cave are beautiful and challenging to climb. You can “loose” yourself in the surrounding woods.
But don’t worry, you don’t have to ruff it too much, the camp grounds are well equipped. The beds in the cabins are not luxurious by any means, but it beats sleeping on a wooden bench seat in the back of a moving HMMWV wearing full battle rattle.
Anyway, I can’t wait to party and hang out with friends and my pack members. It’s just a few weeks away.

Before the new year.
Posted 14 years agoAs this year comes to a close, I would like to get something off my mind so I can start the new year freash. The following paragraphs will bring closure for me to the matter that they discribe.
I had a Victornox Swiss Army pocket knife and a Gerber folding knife (that I gave to Merkindesr as a gift) come up missing on the same day a while ago. I had this knife for many years and it was dear to me, there is little chance I just lost it the same day Merk’s knife was nowhere to be found. I believe that they must have been stolen from my home. Stealing is dishonest and hurtful to the owner and thus creates negative energy into the thief.
And since they were stolen from the right full owner there is nothing the thief can do to cleanse that negative energy from himself, so he or she will be forever be cursed with it. If the thief sales the knives, the negative energy stays with him, and if the thief gives them away the negative energy stays with him because they were not his to give. Only returning them to the rightful owners will remove this negative energy.
I do not hold a grudge or think badly to anyone who Merk and I have invited to my home, but there are a few people who we will not let back in our home due to their conniving ways (unless they are willing to make amends). As a Wiccan, I also do not wish or have wished any negative energy to anyone or to anything. The thief brought this negative energy onto himself, and it is his to bear.

Mephit Fur Meet 2011
Posted 14 years agoMerk and I will be leaving for MFM next Thursday. Our good friend Psyfox will be traviling and staying with us if he does not have to move rig. I can't wait to get there, it has been a few months since my last con. ^^
Fursuit, two years old.
Posted 14 years agoMy fursuit has held up very well for the amount of cons I have been to the past couple of years. It turn two years old on June 26, which was two days ago. I will always love and cherish it for it has brought me so much fun and happiness.
Central Plains Fur Meet (post)
Posted 14 years agoMerkindesr and I would like to thank everyone who attended and helped to make our fur meet a great success. We will have another meet next year, most likely at the same lake, but we will rent a pavilion to better serve our guests. We hope to see you all back next year and to see more new comers.
Each fur meet we have brings us closer to hosting a hotel convention in Wichita Kansas, but until then thanks again for your support.

Furry camping trip.
Posted 14 years agoMerk and I are hosting another furry camping trip. Last year was the first one and we want to have all the fun again this year. This time it will be at Lake Afton just southwest of Wichita KS. It will be on June 24-26, (each year we have it on a different date) so if you are also not going to AC, anyone who is 18 or older is welcome to come. Many of the local KS and OK furs are already planning to go. ^^
For more details go here: http://www.centralplainsfurmeet.com/
But you can leave questions/comments on my journal.
Also, remember it’s a camping trip so come prepared. And of course fursuits are welcome, I will bring mine.

Wild Nights 2011 Pink Flamingo Video (original)
Posted 14 years agoThe Pink Flamingo came with Calamity Cougar to Wild Nights 2010, but it left with a fox. Merkindesr and I made this video to show where the flamingo has traveled with us and who it got to meet in one whole year. We returned the flamingo to Calamity during the USO Show at Wild Nights 2011, which was also the first showing of this video. Here you will see actual footage from the USO Show, but the original Pink Flamingo video was edited in. Calamity was very happy to get his flamingo back, and really enjoyed the video that was in tribute to him. We love you Cougar!

Fox's Fursuiting Tip, Vol. 2
Posted 14 years agoWelcome back to Fox’s Fursuiter’s Tip! My second tip will be about fursuit head fans. Most fursuiters already may know about them and they are not a new concept by any means, but I will show you some tips on how to build your own.
For a picture of my fan system:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5474943/
Perhaps the most commons place to put a fan is in the muzzle. You will most likely lose the ability to drink though your muzzle, but I found out that having a constant supply of fresh air keeps me hydrated longer. Always drink plenty of water before, during, and after fursuiting. Take in consideration of the size and length of your muzzle. Try to keep the cooling fan hidden, you don’t want people think you are nomming on computer parts. If you are confident to do so, you may have to clear out some material from the inside of your muzzle to fit a fan. Just remember, fans are cheap, fursuit heads are not. I rounded off some of the corners of a 40 X 40mm fan to fit snuggly in the back of my muzzle without modifying my fursuit head and without using glue or fasteners. The cooling fan can be positioned to blow air in or out. Cooling fans come in many sizes, to find the best fit, you may have to modify it or your head or both. You can find the parts you need at your local Best Buy or Radio Shack.
The larger the fan, the more battery life you need. Most computer fans are 12v, you should never use a higher voltage or amperage than what the fan is rated for. It may cause shorter fan life, fire, or damage to your fursuit. You can run a small fan on just a regular 9v battery, but it will last only for only one to two hours. I now use, thanks to Jase Husky’s advice, a rechargeable RC battery. One charge of this battery will last me through out an entire four day fur con with my fan.
The wiring for the fan can be as easy or as complicated as you want. Mount the battery to your tail belt under your fursuit. Make the wires from the battery to the fan long enough so you can get your head on and off easily. Merkindesr Tiger helped me make the one in the picture and he made the battery pouch to go on my tail belt. The on and off switch for my fan is just unplugging the battery or the RCA connector that I used. You can put in a switch if you want or even a resistor to limit the voltage to the fan. But only do this if you know how to correctly do it with the proper parts, for resistors can get warm or even hot so be very careful. Use heat shrink tubing to insulate the positive and negative wires from each other or on any wires you spliced together. I don’t recommend electrical tape because it peels off and gets everything sticky.
Test your cooling fan system before wearing it with your fursuit. Prop the fan on its side to allow good air flow and let is run for about 10 minutes. Make sure nothing gets hot to the touch. The fan and battery may get a little warm, but the fan will keep itself cool. Warm or hot wires indicate that there is too much power for the gauge of wires you are using. This is where you would need to use a resistor or replace the wires with some that can handle the desired voltage and amps.
For those who do not want to make one themselves, click on the link below.

I hope that will guide you on building your own cooling fan system. Feel free to ask me any questions. Thanks for reading and happy fursuiting.

Fox's Fursuiting Tip, Vol. 1
Posted 14 years agoWelcome to my first Fox’s Fursuiter’s Tip. I am an experienced fursuiter who has been to many fur cons around the US as well as fursuiting at local events and just suiting around my home town of Wichita Kansas. I have developed new ways or improved on existing ideas to make fursuiting more enjoyable and hassle free.
This month’s tip is about foot paw security. I have been known to ride my mountain bike and to do Tae Kwan Do in suit, and losing a foot paw can “ruin the magic”. For example, at the 2009 Mephit Fur Meet, I lost my foot paw while kicking a ball in the hotel. It was not that big of a deal, but it was not something that I would want to happen again. Even though my foot paws are well made and fit perfectly, I needed something to keep them on while performing such acts and to not worry about the momentum of my foot paws to pull them off my feet.
At a Hancock Fabrics store I found these short elastic bands with clips on them that worked perfectly. Like most foot paws mine have slippers built into them, and these bands clip on both sides of the slipper and go over the top of my foot. Since they are elastic, I just clipped them on once and I am able to slide my foot in and out of them with ease. Use the link below for a picture of the bands.
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/5179010/
I never had a problem since I started using them and if you have this problem I hope this tip helps.

I never had a problem since I started using them and if you have this problem I hope this tip helps.
Oki's animal adventures
Posted 15 years agoBack at Oklacon 2010, Draconis put out about 50 paper flamingos in front of the a-frame the Sinners and Saints Pack was staying in. It was a cool stunt and everyone was bothering us wanting to know what they were for, but what we did with the flamingos was much better. Look and see. ^^

Posted 15 years agoThis years Oklacon was much better than last years. Especially because I was hanging out with furs who have become friends over the past year. I went to this con to be with them and my mate. The Sinners and Saints Pack, and a certain couger, made this fur con very enjoyable for everyone who attended.
