This is going out to any and all who are involved or would like to be involved with helping central plains fur con. We are having a meeting to discuss whatever we need to make things run better and appoint new staff as well. 

The meeting will be at Emerson biggins at 2330 n maize rd #100 wichita ks. (It's right behind the spangles on maize street, just north of 21st street)
And we will be there from 11am to 1:30pm.

They do serve food at this place, so you may think about bringing a few bucks if you want to order something. If your not hungry, then just come for the meeting which is perfectly fine.

I would like to thank all the ones who braved the stormy weather to make to the Central Plains Fur Meet this year. Next year we'll sacrifice cooler weather for hotter, but more stable weather by having the camp out in late spring. Now there is the Central Plains Fur Con 2015 in November to look forward to! :3

This is a camping weekend so please come prepared. CPFM is going back to its roots this year for some good ol' camping fun. You will need to bring you own food and drinks. And if you are planning on camping overnight, you will need a tent or other means of sleeping arrangements. The town of Goddard is close by with stores and restaurants for those of you who don't want to ruff it as much.

If you park your car close by the shelter, you will not need to buy a vehicle permit from Lake Afton, however if you have a tent you will still need to pay their camping fee. The shelter we have this year is an open air shelter.


May 8th through the 10th at Lake Afton Kansas.

CPFM badge: $5

Lake fees:

One vehicle: $3 per day.
One tent with one vehicle: $7 per night/day.

Snack-Pack, Merkindesr, Blitz, and I are going to do some fursuiting at the Kansas State Fair this Friday, September 12. So far the weather forecast shows cool temps with a small chance of showers. Come and join us at the fairgrounds in Hutchinson, we will be there around 6:30pm!

We’re getting excited about the con coming up! Just some quick notes about the Central Plains Fur Con:

We already have more registered dealers than last year, but we still have some dealer tables available for rent.

Our GOH, Laura Garabedian, has provided us with some amazing art for the con; I can’t wait for everyone to see it.

If you would like to perform in our variety show, sign up for it at the con and we will get you in the show! We
can also show your videos during the variety show. You can send the file to us or give it to us during the variety
sign up.

If you want to host a panel, we can schedule you a day and time for it.

We have more new sound and lighting equipment to better enhance the events and dances.

Also, it’s never too early to reserve a hotel room or to register for the con. Those staying in a con hotel room get
free breakfast and dinner provided by the hotel!

So, who’s coming that hasn’t registered yet?

If you have a room at the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview, you will be able to get free food provided by the hotel! That’s right, you can partake in the hot breakfast buffet; and in the afternoon, you get the hotel Kickback! It starts every day at 5:30pm, and you get free hot food and cold beverages. The food here is spot on!

This is a very nice and up-to-date hotel. Every room has its own fridge, microwave, and flat panel TV. There is also an indoor pool and two hot tubs! Also there is free wireless internet.

You get all this and more for just $109 per night at the group rate! The Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview in Wichita Kansas is a great and covenant place to break loose at the Central Plains Fur Con!

So the con is drawing near and thus so does the pre-registration cut off date. As of Sept. 1st anyone who has not registered will have to pay the full price of $40 at the door. So if you are planning on making it out for the weekend we highly advise taking advantage of pre-registering. And just to let you all know there are still 4 lifetime badge slots available to those who are interested.

Also, if you haven't booked a room I would advise to doing so now. As of Sept. 1st the hotel will open any available rooms back to the general public and once they do it tends to get booked up pretty fast. It doesn't cost anything to book a room now, and you can always cancel a room reservation within 24 hours and not get charged for it.

We will be having a pizza and ice cream social on Saturday for lunch outside in the gazebo. Tickets for this event will only be $5 and they can be purchased at the registration table any time thursday or friday. (Sponsors and super sponsors get tickets to this event for free.) Once registration closes on friday tickets will no longer be available so that we will have an accurate count for the amount of pizza and ice cream needed to place the order.

If you are interested in performing in the Dance Competition and/or the Variety show we will be giving out forms at the registration table. We will also have rehearsal panels prior to the event for those who will be participating. Also, There will be prizes given for the best of show.

Ride and room share can be done on the prior journal do to the forums getting sabotaged. I will post the link to that below.

I am very touched that so many of you have showed your support and offering to help us about the hit and run we suffered. No one (that we know of) was hurt, but Merk’s ’92 Tempo was badly damaged. In case you missed it, check out Merk’s submission below about what happened. We put a lot of work and money into that good little car, I drove it to work most of the time, and it saddens me to see it all banged up, but the caring that many of you have shown is making it all better, thank you so much.

We have all new sound and lighting equipment to break in, so I am now taking song requests for the dances at CPFM. Give me the name of the song and artist of the request you would like make, a YouTube link of your request will be helpful too. You may make more than one request. I will try to accommodate all of your requests, but remember I may not play it if it is not appropriate. Please, only those who are going to CPFM can make a request. :3

What an unforgettable Wild Nights that was for me. The weather was not much of an issue for me, but some of the nights were chilly. Hanging out with friends and meeting new ones was the best part of Wild Nights. Askari and Oki Doki gave me an Oki original hostage badge, and an awesome complete Disney dish set that they scored at a yard sale (thanks again you two). The CPFC party Merk and I hosted was a good success, nine people pre-registered for our con here in Wichita Kansas in less than 30 minutes, and DJ Shasta volunteered to DJ and Zain volunteered to be our audio guy.

One of the things that will be the most unforgettable was what happened to me at the cave. I was with a group of furries climbing on some boulders on Friday, and as I was climbing on top of a five foot high ledge, my handhold slipped and I fell back landing on my feet but they instantly slipped on pine needles out from under me. I landed on my butt very hard. The Camelbak I was wearing most likely saved injury to my back. After a few minutes of intense pain, someone helped me to my feet, thanks whoever did that, I can’t remember due to being slightly dizzy. Merk and Blitz helped me move around the rocks when I needed it. And thanks to Jase who gave me something for the pain for the rest of the weekend, I was able to still enjoy Wild nights.

I saw a doctor on Tuesday when I got back home and after an x-ray she told me that I broke my tailbone in that fall. She said that it would heal on its own, and she prescribed something for the pain. I can’t believe that I was dancing and fursuiting with a broken tailbone at Wild Nights.

Another big part of Wild Nights is when Merkindesr and I, in the presence of Oki and Askari, collared Blitz Victor Foxtrot to be our pet. Blitz had been our good friend for a while now, but I wanted to wait until Wild Nights to collar him to make it more special.

Merk, Blitz, and I built a natural alter down by the streambed west of the camp. We made it to honor nature and to commemorate our stay at the park and that our pet and master union be blessed.
