Saw Godzilla vs Kong NO SPOILERS
Posted 4 years agoall I can say is, I got everything I wanted out of it. Only issues I had was one of the main female characters doing things with what seemed no prior set up within the movie to explain it, and one of the characters didn't do their job as a comedic releif, more or less just baggage I felt. The fight scenes were INCREDIBLE! I loved it! 9/10

Opinions on the Lola new look:
Posted 4 years agoPersonal opinion: I'm not really a fan of the change, and I'm also kind of in the camp that a woman can be strong despite being sexy in appearance. I also wanna point out that the reaction people have over the new design has less to dow with have big boobs or not and just the fact that it's Lola they changed, especially when I think she was pretty capable in competent in the 90s, heck aside from Jordan she was the best player on the team. Especially when there's another female toon on the team who isn't sexualized so frankly had they not changed Lola there would of easily been a balance.
When I take a step back on the big picture on weather or a not a female character can be strong based on being sexy or not is PURELY subjective. Frankly both arguments against both designs can be considered mysoginistic if ya break it down like this:
The first argument: "Women can't be strong unless they have tits" can be seen as mysoginistic because we could be saying flat female characters can't be strong or appealing. Women of course come in all calibars like men do and it's down to whats under the surface that's most important.
The second argument: "Women can't be strong if they're sexualized/feminine/whatever" is also mysognistic because we could be writing off the capabilities of the character because only masculine traits or strong, thus women could only be strong if they look like a man.
Even if there's more to being strong than just bashing a hundred dudes at once, or something. Badassery comes in all flavors.
These arguments are a tight rope, but frankly having preferences doesn't make you intolerant. Some folks like big tits, some folks prefer small tits, neother of the tastes are superior over the other, and there isn't anything wrong with either stuff. Both arguments also have their good sides but at the end of the day: strength of a character goes beyond their apperance.
A female character can have small tits and be appealing, however they can aslo be a friggen bombshell and be strong too it's all about how the artist approaches what they do with the character in question. I don't believe an artist has to answer to someone as to why they designed a character the way want. Personally in my roster: I draw my characters the way I do because it's simply because those designs are REALLY fun for me to draw, if I don't find something fun in general I won't do it, this is the same case with everything: video games, movies, TV-Shows etc. However like others, I also understand given the last 4-5 years of censorship we've had, I don't blame some folks for associating desexualized character with studios who'd rather be more interested in beating politics in your skull than actually offering you a break from reality, something everyone is experiencing at an exhausting rate these days. There sin't anything wrong with politics in media so long as it serves the story and not the other way around.
At the end of the day: Everyone is free to like what they like. There's nothing wrong with a sexy designed character, and there's nothing wrong with a non-sexy design. Personally if I was designing my cast for a game: BEACH OUTFITS FOR EVERYONE >8D lol.
I'm not really lookin to watch Space Jam 2 personally, I'm gonna wait and see what the reactions are about it first before I make that decision.

Posted 5 years agoSo lately due to inclement weather I've been unable to go to work, which kinda sucks..but that would've meant more time to do stuff this week. Unfortunately it is took cold in my room (due to how things are structured, the windows are kinda thin.) So even though I should have the time to..it's hard to get motivated when you're cold.
BLEH...At least I can finally talk to friends and stuff, something I haven't been able to do much. Also been playing the Halo Campaigns with my niece it's kinda neat seeing her reactions to all the stuff. Lol. If ya got me on discord, drop me a line, or if ya want just PM me to 'v'

What you got planned for next year?
me personally, I'm thinking after I finish this vent animation, to just finally start working on the Final Battle animation for this Primal Rage series Justa and I have been doing. I'm also wanting to actually make one of my characters in 3D for once. Sadly I'm having some trouble approaching that still. I know what it kinda is I wanna do, I'm just tring to figure out, HOW to get there. Lol.
It's not a promise though, but worth something. As far as future content goes, I'm looking forward to the upcoming Godzilla Vs Kong Film (if that EVER COMES OUT!) and the newest Godzilla anime coming up (hoping its better than the trilogy, which had great ideas, but personally bad execution.)
And of course, Halo Infinite, hopefully (but I'm gonna be realistic here) we get playable Elites again. That way justathereptile can have a reason to finally play with me more, especially sense split screen might come back. I'm not ok with how they're gonna do the color system though. > - > still I'm looking forward to it.

Posted 5 years agoI'm gonna try to be as breif as I can about this. I'm not gonna throw a big blanket over one side or the other, I do feel the tensions over the last 4-5 years can be blaned equally on both. But I'm not here to demonize anyone right now.
I've..noticed something.
To start: I understand why one would be suspicious of how the electiosn turned out, but I do not approve of the violence being caused by this. I felt this way about the riots in Portland (not talking about the protests, but the riots.) and I still feel the same about this now.
It's kind of shocking how similar two groups can be. I've seen the same attitude but it's literally flipped within the last 4 years. I won't say much else other than this:
Everyone, please come together. Sure you may have disagreements, but we must remain open minded enough to not let events like this cloud us. Don't pay attention to the media like CNN or Fox, they're both propaganda machines for their respective sides. Do not let what transpired here turn rational minds into that of fanaticism.
I was never certain about the future of this country when Trump got elected 4 years ago. I'm not gonna pretend that Biden is gonna be better because he's not trump. We should demand for congress on both sides to ALWAYS show tact, to the otherside, even if their opponent isn't. We should expect Congress to not grandstand for morals they dont have, but should strive to actually help.
It doesnt matter what your ethnicity is, your skin color (to me at least) is only an aesthetic, as anyone depending on where you grow up, does effect your perception in life. Inside of every US citizen we have blood that is American. We have to look past what we see on the outside and champion what is in us.
We cannot fight racism, hate, or bigotry, with more racism, bigotry, and hate. We're only justifying the viewpoints of those who carry such hatred in their hearts. We should question those who are on the same side as us, be skeptical, and don't just accept every piece of info you get, question it, look into the other side and see what they're saying. It's not easy to pick through the loud, screaming maws of rage to find the rational points within.
I don't know what the future's gonna be like, but we need to come togeather with an intent to understand, not demonize.
No matter horrifying the events have been these past many months, lets come together. As Americans, not just black, white, asian, gay, straight, trans, or anything that defines you on the outside. But Americans, with American blood.
With all the negativity going around, I felt like share something positive. Usually I draw but work's gotten me exausted.

The end of another Awful year...
Posted 5 years agoOh boy 2020, defintely one of the worst years in existence. u - u
These last 5 years have been awful. All of it. It all went to shit or starting to in 2016....then 2017. Three relatvies dying within the same week. including granpa on dad's side, aunt Cardel...and another relative from my mother's side...that next year, granpa on mother's side was lost...then...2019..uncle jimmy...and now this year, another uncle of mine had passed away. He was the one my dad used to always tell stories about, and was usually the one that initiated the trouble.
My father aside from battling cancer, has caught the shingles earlier this month, thankfully it's healing, and the doctor did say he'd be good to go in 6 months if he keeps up the medication....When it comes to family, these last 5 years, 2020 included have been the worst...
Family isn't the only thing that's been frustrating for me. Hell these last 4 years alone, I got the best glimpse I ever could of the farceness that is both the left and the right. The left with censorship happy people who let's be honest CLAIM they want to do good and equality, but lately I've come view the more extremist ones as just wanting a power grab, this includes cnesoring or getting of media or content they don't like ebcause it's not up to their tastes. Hollywood being the biggest offender in 2020 in this case. In the mdist of a pandemic, you'd think they'd all be up for just making some entertainment, stuff we can escape to, a chance to take a breather from the world around us, but NOPE. Not one fucking bit, instead they force feed propaganda down your throat and then call you bigot when you cough it up.
As with any other group, people on the extreme right sure as fuck aren't any better. With a certain talking organge making big about all kinds of junk, and all the other crazy crap, which I'm sure so many people have talked about that I don't even think it's a point to even speak further. What's been said about him as already been said, and honestly I'm just tired of it..
Overall I've gotten a good solid look at both political sides and the righteous masks they wear to hide their hideous, and aggressive behaviors. It's as if we're not even allowed to have opinions anymore, unless they coencide with that group in agreement, and I'm sick of it. We got fascists' on the right, and commies on the left. This was a painful ride going through with Trump, and I am equally unoptimistic about Biden, which btw, guys I think I can see the strings rigged to biden's suit(a metaphor). I'm amazed at myself that despite the riots, the looting, the crime rate spiking in cities like portland, the violence, the bigotry from both sides...it's amazing how I still firmly believe that most left and right leaning people are generally rational people who, while overly passionate about their ideals, can still be open minded enough to hear the opposition out. I just hope that aspect eventually makes itself completely known in an age of misinformation and censorship.
On that note, with the 2 bills passed under the joke of a covid relief bill, and then this SISEA Bill now also coming upon the horizen, I fear free expression itself might be in jeaoperdy. Sure no one has to draw porn or nsfw stuff, but the fact that the option is there makes feel like I can go where I wish to (obviously within my own limits but that's limitations of my own choice.) I get the likely reason but seeing as SISEA has a loop hole that could allow for the very exploitations they want to fight requires a huge double take. I hope this bill NEVER passes, but seeing as the first two got through, I feel demoralized, but really hope it doesn't pass.
Speaking of censorship and content regulation: Platforms seem to forget that they're SUPPOSED to be platforms. I know some of the more extreme people on the right want to get rid 230 protections outright, but I personally feel it's better to go on a case by case basis. Hold people like google, facebook, and twitter on trial for bias, if they are guilty, strip them of their 230 protections, specifically the parts that allow people to sue them for how they enforce their rules on speech. Of course we don't want be evil, so they could have the option to get their 230 protections back, so long as they can prove that they're not controlling the flow of information, nor showing political bias, or bias on any content. In my own opinion this is the middle ground. Hopefully with that factor in mind, it'll force other platforms to act like platforms and not publishers.
Overall I'm not optimistic about 2020, it's already the last day, and already I'm not having a great day...I'm expecting some left over to bleed out well into the early months...but honestly in my heart..I really hope 2021 will be the year that erases the damage done by 2020, unrealistic yes...but at least it's hopeful...which is something we all need right now.

Posted 5 years agoHonestly,I've had such a hard time trusting both sides of the aisle for the longest time. The last 4 years I've seen everything from riots, censorship, the really effed up way the pandemic was handled, the non-stop rabid vitrial spewing out of both parties mouth, it's a wonder that we even still have a country. However, I have to commend biden for being the first of his side to want to reach out and establish peace in heal (granted he's only spoke and I prefer my politicians to express based off action, but we'll see.)
Hopefully there's gonna be SOME peace now. But I understand with how everyone's been acting that there's little enthusiasm for the future. Also congrats to kamala as well as vice president. I hope people will be able to see past her identity however and be more concerned about what she can do for the country.
Regardless as we move in the future, I hope we don't forget to treat each other like human beings. Because honestly, I'd hate to put up with another shit storm like we've been putting up..let's hope people will stop shouting and see past the politics for once. It won't be easy especially with what some politicians are doing, right now. But I would like some normalcy and for entertainment to be fun too.

EDIT: I've noticed some heated comments here. You guys are free to debate, here in the journal, just please keep civil and don't try to put everyone in boxes, it's way easier to get a long when we're not just throwing labels on each other for having opinions.

Hopefully there's gonna be SOME peace now. But I understand with how everyone's been acting that there's little enthusiasm for the future. Also congrats to kamala as well as vice president. I hope people will be able to see past her identity however and be more concerned about what she can do for the country.
Regardless as we move in the future, I hope we don't forget to treat each other like human beings. Took a break from drawing all yesterday due to frustration, and sore wrist from drawing all last week.
Got back into playing Destiny 2 for a moment as well as For Honor.
As for some uplifting news:
The medication my dad's taking is improving his condition the tumors in his lungs have shrank, some disappeared and some others are still the same.
