hey folks, its been a while!

so, ive really fallen off the FA commission work train, but i may return to it in some capacity on occasion. for now ill post what art ive got (ive got some recent comms i took, and some from.... about a year ago) and give yall a heads up on my direction from here on out.

i'm going to have to work on my portfolio for kid's TV, and pivot to posting original work along those lines - not on this site, though. i haven't really decided yet what art site i'd like to make my new home base (as yall know im just. so lazy about posting slhdsjladasj) but when i do ill drop a link. i wont abaondon FA completely, though! as i mentioned, i dont wanna close off the possibility of coming back here to take commissions or post anthro-centric work. although, i'm likely going to be pruning my gallery down a bit, removing really old work and stuff i no longer vibe with.

but as always, thanks for your support in my artistic endeavors! i literally could not have put myself through college without you guys. with luck i'll eventually have a grad film to show people. if youve left me a note or a comment in the past months, im sorry for being unresponsive, but ill try to be more on top of my notes while im doing the previously-mentioned maintenance on this account.

hey whats up! ive got some updates to my nonsense to share with yall.

firstly, may patreon has been active for 3ish months now, so ive gotten a handle on how i like to do things over there. ive implemented 2 major changes:
1. my entire personal art gallery, early commissions, and film development is all available to view for 5$/month. for a 5 dollar bill a month you can see all the artwork i do and support my animation college experience! i know i say this a lot but truly every bit helps.
2. there are now caps on tiers with custom rewards. however ive implemented one more tier at 60$/month with some real decadent rewards!!

secondly, im implementing a soft slot system for commissions. whenever my trello hits 9 cards (im usually in talks with a 10th person) i will close commissions. this status will be updated on my user page here and on my trello queue, and will open again once im down to a more reasonable number. these closures wont be announced via journal as they will hopefully not last more than a week or so at a time.

also in commission updates, i removed the option for paintings as it was collecting dust and i also dont feel like doing them.
i had a novelty commission type in mind to replace them: animation-style character sheets. as in, in the style of old cartoon characters that explained to the animators how to draw them (example). these wouldnt be a ref sheet or character design, theyd take an oc and simplify it down to a cartoonish point. idk would anyone be into that?????

whats up! im real burnt out from school!
if youve commissioned me over the past 2 months, youve probably noticed a major slowing down in production, though hopefully not in quality. i just wanted to assure folks that i dont intend for this to be the case next semester, which with luck wont have as nightmarish a schedule. i try my hardest to treat my commissions here as a job and id like to stick to the standards ive set for myself, so for now ive decided against the slot system i was considering previously. however i do think some of my prices need adjusting, particularly my ref sheets and sketchpages. theyd be adjusted by like 5-10usd, nothing major. i find my standards for both of those have exceeded what they were a few months ago, so ill be implementing new prices on those in a few weeks.

now for fun stuff - if you missed it, i launched my patreon last month! its pretty low-key, with tiers at 1, 5, 10, and 30 usd. every little bit helps me get through college a bit more comfortably, and i think all the personal art i share on patreon is pretty neat too. soon there'll be much more film production stuff going up there, as i start gearing up to animate my 30-second film. and dont forget i have a fanart poll up there as well - this month im taking votes on which pokemon i should draw! yall can check out the full info about each tier here!!!

ive been getting more interest in my comms lately, which is great! but i think sometime in the next year i may have to switch to a slot-based system, just to keep my queue manageable. ill see how things play out for a few months, so i'll continue taking them regularly for now.

just a journal to reiterate that im open for commission orders again. and now that im done another year of school, i have way more time for them. i was trying to think of other types i could offer now that im available for longer-term projects, but idk! id like to remind folks that im open to trying things that aren't on my usual commission roster.
ill definitely be putting an emphasis on YCHs this summer, ive already compiled a giant list of setting ideas lol. i wont be at my part-time gig so often either, so i have time for personal projects now!!!!!! again id like to thank folks for watching + supporting my art (srsly, ive never had much of a following for my art before, im so grateful!)

hey yall! as you may know, ive been on my grind this summer saving up for Art Shit
i was wondering if anyone had any tablet recommendations? i really dont need a high-end one, ive been using a 5 y/o bamboo without problem (besides my pen not entirely working, but thats my fault for spilling so much whiskey on it, so) i was thinking like less than 500 CAD (about 400 usd?) and i was interested in non-wacom brands.

i really want the get myself a good laptop tho, proabably a gaming laptop. needs to be a beefy enough rig to handle maya.

im sure i can find some good info and reviews online but i thought i might check in here to see if you guys had any experience with this stuff. any input helps! :D

its (almost) summer, i got my hat on backwards and i need a new laptop for the next school year OTL

so i have a bunch of really nice but extremely specific environments drafted out for my perspective class, and i was wondering that if i painted them up, if theyd make for good ychs. ive got like, an old american west scene, a viking village, an eileen grey-esque bedroom, stuff like that. however im not sure if theyd sell well and was wondering if anyone had any insight?? ill probably paint up at least one of them, but id like to know if theres folks out there who would want to buy period/geographic specific pieces of art OTL

when i started full-time animation college last year, i also started trying to support myself with my art. i mostly advertise through forums on various websites like FV, FR etc, so thats why my prices are a little bit low.. ill be needing to adjust them sometime soon but im not quite sure how ill go about that yet :U
ill be starting my next semester of school tomorrow, but i keep up doing commissions throughout the week! i don't have a queue or any progress status indicator atm (i just keep a pen/paper list for myself ha..) but i do my best to give time estimates, and if it gets long i will post a list somewhere.

its fun to be on an actual art-centered website again, after quitting DA i've been posting my art to tumblr for ~5 years without much success. its a much friendlier vibe here haha. it makes me more inclined to draw original things so im excited for that. btw, we keep things pretty vanilla here at furaffinity dot net slash users slash hisseefit, but! some experimentation, in the future, maybe.
