I make things that are loudly queer because I have been the beneficiary of loud queerness. I have been the beneficiary of people unabashedly being who they are. I have been the beneficiary of people joyously and raucously refusing to compromise themselves, and the beneficiary of people who have spoken to me, at their own risk, when they could see that I needed to see people like myself. Creating queer art and merch is literally the only way that I can pay back people whose name I may not even know, but taught me that it was ok to be myself.

It doesn't take having a huge sphere of influence, or being well known. The people who helped me on my journey were, for the most part, people I met out in the wild. People in airports, at concerts, in parks and stores. People who might not even know how much they affected me, who did the right thing in the moment simply by existing, unafraid.

That's why I make these things that I do. And that's why I'm throwing this sale. Yes, this is ad copy. Yes, I'm pitching stickers and keychains- they won't change the world, they won't stop global warming, they aren't a solution to the systemic issues that we all face right now. But they were made as an expression of queer joy. Most of the world's problems are caused by humorless individuals who take everything deadly serious. Sometimes being joyous is dangerous, and sometimes something small can give people the hope to try. It did for me.

Hi, all. I'm back up at my desk. I've not gotten to working on commissions yet, because, well. I'm not at my best.

For those that don't know, I recently spent several days in the hospital. The surgical intervention that I required was minor (kidney stone treatment) but did require that I be put under. Pleasant, it was not.

I am still somewhat recovering- I have an autoinflammatory disorder, which has been exacerbated by the obvious.

On the brighter side, it did show me how kind this community truly is. I haven't been able to get to individual thank-yous, but I am thankful. When I release the Hopital Sticker Pack, everyone that came to my rescue is entitled to a sheet, and they will be on sale for others. (I haven't gotten the bill yet, but uh. It's scary.)


I will be holding off returning to actual commission work until next week, because I don't want to prolong recovery by trying to perform proper labor while still ill. While the stickers are still work, picking at a design from my bed in 10 minute spurts is much less high-impact than sitting at my easel and trying to paint.

Hihi! I'm back in the office after PDFC and recovering from that!

Feeling much better. Arizona was pretty good to me! I've enjoyed having the privilege to see the other side of the country. Like legit, it is a privilege to get to travel and see how the fandom is in different places.

I've been to so many places, and can still count the legitimately negative experiences on one hand, in comparison to mountains of positive ones.
The kindness of this fandom is part of why I get up, no matter what happens to me. Things might seem rough sometimes, but people like y'all give me hope.
