Celebrating 3 decades of Goom

It's my 30th birthday today, and I celebrated it with a very special event: I've driven a steam locomotive!

It's something I've always wanted to do, especially since I already did electric and diesel. I can't think of a better way to celebrate a 30th birthday lol

Oh man, 2025 already!

2024 certainly has been a rather wild year for me. Art-wise it might have been terrible (really, only 4-5 drawings? Damn...), but I did a lot of other (creative) stuff!

Last year I:

- Continued building on my Lego city, building existing sets and designing additions or full buildings from scratch,
- Lost 10kg, getting my weight below 90kg, while also gaining muscle,
- Went to Berlin using a sleeper train,
- Smelled surströmming and ate vegemite,
- Visited plenty of museums, expositions and parks,
- Managed to get my hands on railroad crossing signalisation,
- Saw Randy Feltface live once more,
- Started on a steam locomotive model kit,
- Competed in a rubber duck race and lost,
- Made the conbook for Flüüfff, a Belgian furry convention,
- Sadly lost a friend who was a very influential person in the Belgian furry fandom,
- Drank 4 cans of Coca Cola with Oreo flavour,
- Last and certainly not least, got my bottom surgery done.


For this year, there's a couple goals I would like to achieve:

- Get my weight to under 80kg
- Draw way more than just 5 drawings a year
- Technically lose my virginity again lmao
- Drive a steam locomotive for my 30th birthday

Will I achieve these goals? Will I be able to finish this drawing I've been working on for a year now? Hopefully finish these 2 other drawings I've started? Will my bottom surgery heal properly? Only time will tell.

One thing I just really hope for this year is for AI "art" to die off lmao, get that filth outta here!

I've been home for a couple days, and man, what a week.

The week I spent at the hospital was both the longest and the shortest of my life. Spending 3 days in a hospital unable to get out of bed is truly maddening, but luckily I had some entertainment with me to pass the time. But on some certain days I just couldn't held in my tears since there was so much happening at once. The hospital food was quite fine, but being on a fiber-free diet for a whole week really just made me crave burgers lmao

So far, living with a neocoochie is really weird. I need to learn how to properly walk again, as well as pee and such. Dilating also takes out a huge chunk of my day, but that will be gradually be less and less.
I can't wait to see how it looks like once it's fully healed, because for now it looks very swollen and stitched up. And blood. So much blood.

It is finally happening, after years of preparations, losing weight and hair removal, I will be at the hospital to get final part of my transition done! I'll have to spend over a week in the hospital and then about 6 weeks at home. It's gonna be a tough time to recover again, but I hope during this time period I can also draw more lol. (and it being during the cold harsh winter and holidays means I don't need to go anywhere and can just stay warm inside wheeee)

I've turned 29 today and treated myself to a well deserved spa day! Those 30s are getting really, really close now :o

I also think/hope I'm finally gonna be able to draw more. My wonderful girlfriend managed to find a way to make my workspace more drawing friendly, as for years I never found a good location for my tablet, so drawing was always very uncomfortable. But now I should be able to easily move my tablet in front of me whenever I wanna draw properly :D

Good thing this is just a hobby and not my job lol

I'm currently drawing a huge thing which is taking much longer than expected (also because of job and having Lego as another hobby), so I'm making something small to fill in the gap before people think I'm gone lmao

I was checking my notifications and I accidentally deleted all of them lol

I'm hoping to get my refsheet done by next week too! I've taken a week off from work, should be plenty of time to finish it, hopefully :D

Went to the spa to celebrate it, nothing like spending your birthday naked, massaged, exfoliated, sweaty and relaxed uwu

I will definitely try to post more journals! With Twitter turning more and more into a shithole, I would love to try to get more journals out, with a fursuit pic included, if I don't forget :D

As to kickstart this, here are some recent updates from me:

My gf and I got a cat! Her name is Poppy and we adopted her from a shelter. She's still young and really playful, but also very clumsy lol
I've started going to the gym a couple months ago and I'm seeing results! Can't believe it's possible for me to get a toned belly, but it's getting there!

I'm also still working to improve Goomare's 3D model. I was not happy with the way her tanktop and pants look, so I'm reworking those.

I'm turning 27, damn

So as you might be noticing with my amazing lack of art this year, being 26 was rather eventful. Moving to a better place, girlfriend moving in, surgeries, needing to deconstruct and rebuild my whole Lego city,...
I hope I can draw more art soon, I miss being able to draw a lot lol

But yeah, had a great day, wonderful and relaxing day at the spa, made jaffa cake brownies, it was nice 😊

Yes yes, it's been a very busy 2022 for me so far, with me moving, buying and building a crapton of IKEA Furniture, preparing to live together with my girlfriend, doing all the required adminstration, and now my breast surgery is planned for next week 😄

Didn't expect it to arrive this fast! The surgery is both getting the boobies bigger and the nuts gone. Just a step closer to become the big tiddy goth gf :v

Also I should be able to upload some art this week. finally, hopefully. It's been incredibly busy and I'm glad I can get some rest after the surgery.

No, not accounts, but a new home!

As mentioned in my previous journal, I was looking for a new flat, and I got one <3
It's a recent building, right next to the railway, so it's basically perfect for me lol

I'm now super busy with packing up all my stuff and getting all the administration done as I'm already moving next month, so I can't draw all that much at the moment :(

So I don't think I need to repeat all the crap that's happening in the world today, but boy is it stressful. Added with the personal shit I need to deal with, yeah, not fun. I'm dealing for more than half a year with an aggressive neighbour and I've had enough of her. Not even the police can kick her out..

I've decided to move out, just finding a new flat is...also stressful. Because to not fun kind of inflation makes rent prices way higher than when i got my flat.


Bad news aside, some fun news too! Me and my girlfriend are a year together now ❤️


And later this year one of my trans surgeries should take place too, which will be... larger tiddies 👀


I'm currently drawing a small comic and still working on my 3D Goomare, hence why there hasn't been uploaded anything in a while. I'm very slow haha oops

Alright, final day of 2020. This year was extra wild due to reasons we all already know. I should call myself very lucky that I could still live as normal for most things, like still having a job and not having caught COVID.
Just like last year, I'll give some good and bad things that happened. Lots of things happened to me this year!


GOOD THINGS:

- Bought an electric scooter
- Officially changed my name and gender
- Restarted my LEGO hobby after years when I realised I can afford buying larger sets and found out about BrickLink
- Started HRT earlier than expected (and I'm already feeling and seeing the effects of it too)
- Made plenty of reference sheets
- Finally made a redesign of Lucy that I really like
- Reached 3000 watchers on DA (FA is still only around 240, weh)


BAD THINGS:

- The whole name and gender change process was insanely stressful and didn't always go as expected
- Only managed to make 1 drawing each month
- Still didn't lose any weight
- Got into a small accident where I slipped my bike against an incorrectly parked car in rainy weather. Broke a backlight and my jeans got torn, but I only got a small wound on my knee.
- Made pretty much nothing in 3D
- The whole COVID thing and the lockdowns, of course
- Still single once again lol


I hope for next year that HRT will do a great thing on my body, that I could afford more Lego, I finally will make Goomare in 3D, and that the whole COVID thing will be over so I could actually fucking see again when I wear a mask lol (people getting foggy glasses can relate)

After a bit more of a year of waiting, being on therapy, replacing all my administration with my new name and gender, I did all the tests and received all the meds required to begin my full body transition from male to female! I took the first pills right before I started typing this, and this will take at least a year and many more hospital visits.


I am not sure what this will mean art-wise, as I might feel more tired (and less horny) than usual the first upcoming months. With all the administration and such I had to go through this year (also counting the whole COVID thing, of course), I couldn't draw as much as I hoped for as it took most of my energy. I will also partially blame my returned Lego addiction for this lmao


But yeah, for the next year I will have to take these meds twice a day. Here's hoping for good results :D

I usually only post my furry related art here, but on DA I uploaded a few of my Lego MOCs (My Own creations), and I'm not sure if anyone is interested in me uploading those here as well?

I'm currently changing some things on the ref sheets of Goomare and Palocoria!

Goomare's refsheet has already been updated, replacing the lab outfit with a swimsuit.
Palo's refsheet will have her guitar instead of the whip.

And I should make Lucy's refsheet too, eventually.

So Belgium is currently in what we call "Lockdown Light". It's not a full one just yet, but there's a lot of restrictions.

I'm one of the people who still can to go to work. I can't work from home because it's not exactly possible to place an electron microscope in my flat!
But since all the office workers work from home now, my workplace sure feels pretty deserted now.

The streets are empty, rush hour basically doesn't exist anymore,... At least there's still toilet paper last time I went to the store :D

And me? I'm still healthy, at least physically. The stress and anxiety however... I'll manage, somehow.

But I gotta say, the one good thing that came out of this as an introverted person with autism, is that with the social distancing I finally don't feel like my personal space is being invaded lol

So this year was wild and busy, lots of changes, lots of self doubt,... Not gonna go everything that happened month by month, just the big good and bad things that happened this year!

Good things:
- Made a 3D model of Horstraw! (Will be updated in 2020 since there's some very annoying flaws with it)
- Got a new job, working in a research facility as an Electron Microscope Operator
- Realised I'm trans and put myself in the waiting list for HRT
- Made a fursuit with moving eyelids
- Went to my first furry convention
- Found a new and improved way to do shading
- Got a new drawing tablet
- Started swimming and working out
- Commissioned a lot of art

Bad things:
- Didn't lose any weight
- Lost my cat
- Self-confidence dropped a lot this year
- got a new downstairs neighbour who smokes a lot, making my kitchen smell terrible (smoking kills y'all, make that a New Years Resolution for all you smokers in here, quit smoking)
- Kinda fell out of touch with drawing
- Am still single lol

For next year, I'm gonna try to comment more on other people's art like how I used to do, kinda miss those kind of contacts. Maybe buy an electric scooter that I've been eyeing on for a few weeks now... we shall see!

Good grief my life is a mess, ANYWAY HAVE SOME NEWS.

So as you might have noticed, art has been INCREDIBLY slow recently, or hell, even this whole year. This is mostly because of my new job, but also because I just can't find the energy to do some drawing and I really don't know why. Like, there are sketches, quite a bunch of them, but actually working on them is difficult. My guess is that I'm too focused on the feedback once after uploading but eh, no idea. There's also the Horstraw fursuit head that takes a lot of my time, spent a whole week just sewing patterns together, for example.

It's basically almost done, just need to figure out how to keep it stable on my head and then it's time to glue the fabric on the head!

Now on a more serious note, and this is probably pretty hard to talk about, but if you have noticed over the past few months, there has been some more Goomare art and I removed any male pronoun stuff and all that from my profile and bio and (temporarily) put it on they/them. This is because I have a pretty darn big feeling that I might be trans, and I put myself on a waiting list to get help about all this. Thing is that this waiting list is over a year long, so that's gonna take a while. But yeah, just wanted to say that, nothing would really change though,My name would still be Goomuin, Horstraw would still be regular Horstraw, Goomare just Goomare, and I would just stay the same personality-wise.

Now that that's out of the way, thanks a lot for still sticking with me! I hope I can get to draw a bit more next year or something because I'm really not feeling great about just staring at a screen and doing nothing lol
