After 8 long years; COMMISSIONS ARE OPEN (temporarily)!
Posted 9 months agoHello my friends!
Long absences do make the heart grow fonder ; and boy did I miss you all!
The last 8 years have been a roller coaster of non stop work, competition, and triumph, but that's all another story for another journal.
Right now, I have decided to open my commissions for the first time in 8 years!
Limited time only, as by end of Jan I'll be back to working my 6-7 days a week... so over the break I would love to indulge!
I'm looking forward to doing all kinds of exciting stuff; from tattoo and full blown illustrations, so don't hesitate to reach out!
Rates;
Contact me. Every piece of art is it's own unique adventure, and so I discuss details privately with those interested.
Remember; nothing is obligatory! Even if you just want to see what it's all about, drop me a line.
I will open for 5 slots for now:
1) Kira (2)
2) Sora
3) Soba
Have a great Winter everyone!

Transformation Commissions- interest?
Posted 9 years agoHello gang!
Just wondering if there is any interest in getting commissions for the theme of transformation- particularly, portrait, busts, or full bodies?
Prices would be determined by how many pictures/sequence of images it would take from the first to last, and the complexity. Head-shot would be cheaper than bust, and bust cheaper than whole body.
I'll be wrapping up my contract soon, and was looking to open my commissions. Just wanted to plan a head of time; seeing what was on demand and the like.
Feel free to relate any other content you might think cool. I'm open for suggestion!
Cheers!
P.S. For those wondering, I have been working on the My Little Pony Feature (Movie) set for theaters next year. These last 6 months (and 2 more) have been a wild ride! XD

Find one of my tattoos online...
Posted 10 years ago.. and it wasn't what I thought.
So a fellow furry send me a pic, and asks "This your tattoo?"
Turns out, yes it was! Commissioned about 2-3 years ago. Kinda blurry in the pic, and I ask where they found it- was it being lifted from a website, was it being stolen etc etc... and they send me back a message with "Nope. Not sotlen. Just found out who it was".
I was confused.
They Sent me a link.
Said link was one from "x hamster".
WILL YOU FURRIES PLEASE BE MORE CAREFUL WHEN POSTING YOURSELVES IN COMPROMISING POSITIONS [literally]?!
You have commissioned insignia on your body and it IDENTIFIES YOU.
One thing's for sure though... my clients are at least getting some.

Fund Raiser- NWP or icon: EXPLANATION
Posted 10 years agoHey all!
After seeing some of the comments on the previous post, and those I got to my notes, I thought I should clarify that the fund raiser is NOT FOR ME.
This fundraiser is benefiting St, Jude Children's Research Hospital. I'm participating in a fund raising event, and simply offering up my art as some kind of benefit to those who participate.
I'm aware I have outstanding commissions. I am working on those as we speak.
I'm aware I have calendars due- those will be delivered for the 2016 year as discussed with clients.
I'm aware that my commissions are not open- but i am opening them just for this.
You don't have to remind me, or tell me you cannot participate, that is not what I'm asking. I appreciate the support in all forms, nor will I look poorly on you if you do not.
Info about style of commission:
Icon sports logo like so:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/15710915/
You may select a specific sport, or simply your name or character's name.
or NWP image of this kind of complexity:
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/15569053/
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/11562625/
You can put the NWP image in any shape, or simply give me dimensions of the image, and select a simple colour palette [monochromatic, traditional 3, etc]
That being said, 7 spots are still available:
1) Edge
2) Twitter client
3)
4)Tadg_Ua_Faelain
5) amblesbear
6)Pholcidea
7)JamminBison

It's a DOOZIE- long update under cut
Posted 10 years agoHello ALL!
First a sincere apology for disappearing on EVERYONE. I have literally TENS of notes to get to, and new submission and the like, and it's going to take me time to get through some of them. That being said, I'll be prioritizing commission inquiries and cultural inquiries first, and the rest might not be gotten around to.
Please don't feel as if I'm ignoring you personally, simply that I have been undergoing a WHIRLWIND these past few months.
SO what's going on? Let me tell you:
1) Job
Some of you may now how seriously unhappy I was in my previous workplace. The studio was fantastic, the project i was working on was hilarious and fun- but sadly my supervisor was less-than-stable both emotionally and disponsitionally. His constant passive aggressive, lack-of-self-esteem and outward lashing and fault/blame rolling was becoming so unbearable that I nearly hated going into work every day. I have never seen someone so unprofessional in my LIFE. He would publicly ream people out, talk down to co workers and colleagues, and became aggressively combative if someone suggested or contradicted his opinion. Our team were all speaking behind the sense, and found that all of us were terrified that we would loose our jobs at a moments notice, and that no matter what or how we would do our jobs- it came under obsessive criticism and scrutiny that had NO rhyme or reason [literally, he used the term "feeling our way as we go along"]. No one would say anything, of course, because the rest of my team at the time were fresh out of college, and they all feared that any word against our supervisor would mean immediate termination from the job and industry.
I'm not one to take things laying down very long, nor am I going to bail at the first sign of trouble- but after a year and 3 months of this, i decided I NEEDED to move on before I lost my mind. So I did.
I wanted to get back into story boarding- a job I had not been able to do since life had lined up 5+ years of layout work conveniently for me.
I applied, and succeeded and now I am working for Dreamworks! We are currently working on a new show, set to debut in August. All I can say is what has been officially released so have at it:
http://www.filmdivider.com/5643/fir.....orks-dinotrux/
And we are number 17 on this list:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne.....v-shows-793024
The job is a DREAM come true, and an incredible change of pace to the lats one.. needless to say, I am THRILLED with the change.
2) Cultural Work
On going and fulfilling- due to the change of work place above, I had to mind my schedule for the summer, as well as draw out a new plan for the coming autumn. Working with the youth is challenging and fulfilling, but most important- it has to be CONSISTENT. I didn't want to let any of my kids down, and some are in fragile spots in their lives... the last thing they need is to have someone come in and out of it, only to re-enforce their already burning sensation of abandonment.
That being said, I'll be discussing the option with my current workplace to accommodate one day a week where my schedule can be altered so that I can provide my presence for the kids. This being said, I'm moving into temp Foster Caring for some of the children. I can't foster full time yet, but we'll see as time goes by.
On other fronts, I'm doing hands-on work with Elders again. This is always a bonus for me, so I look forward to this on a weekly basis as well.
3) Computer
Computer took a MAJOR tumble. The desktop is not booting up, and I think it has to do with the power-source again. It's an ongoing issue with the com. However, this time around I decided to take a stand- after it goes in to the shop and I get a diagnostic- if it's ANYTHING to do with motherboard or any other part, I will not be replacing it. I'll be giving up on my desktop, and buying a tablet cintiq instead. This desktop has cost me quite a bit in the last little while, and it's becoming exhausting to deal with it.
The only thing bugging me is the files stored on the com. I do regular backup, so I have not lost a great deal of things, but there is at least 2 months worth of work that had to yet be backed. Max, I'm willing to undergo the lengthy- and quite expensive process- of data recovery. This only if I can't boot and retrieve the information myself.
4) Calendars
You adorable and LOVELY folks have been so understanding, and thank goodness MOST of your work has been traditional and well backed- so I have only lost a couple of items each with the computer. Let's pray we can retrieve these, and get things back on track. I am going through inspirational binges of either content or design, so I find that sometimes I dwell on one character, or design a same-styled content of each in turn.
I have stopped uploading them, however, because I'm finding it hard to keep a track one what was posted, what wasn't, and how to keep some of the stylized images a secret form the other folks who wanted a total surprise.
Stay tuned... I'm sure you all will be incredibly pleased with the outcomes!
5) Archery
Moving up in the realm of things! I was even allowed to instruct the warm up, and blind-knocking techniques, as well as participate hands-on with fletching. Archery had been the only steady and less turmoil preoccupation as of late, and this is a blessing. I am still awaiting a call for new members to a range much closer to my place- this would increase my participation, as well as preparation on a weekly basis. Now that the days are longer, I can even jump after work to fly for an hour or two before having to retire home. I'm looking forward to this.
Another blessing is that I have been making Quivers for sale out of traditional mediums, and some have sold! So if any archers out there are looking for quivers, I can custom make them to fit your arrow length, as well as form and function. I specialize in both Woodland and Plains style quivers, and expect them to be a little pricey as I use skins, hides, and furs. We can always discuss what you are looking for, so you can send me a note!
6) Aikido
This has been neglected for the last 3 months. At my previous place of work, the lengthy hours made it near impossible to get to the dojo- which was a mere 5 min away. After changing work, I finally have the time to get back to it- and looking forward to doing so. As of earlier, I had decided that I will be perusing testing this year... so I hope to be eligible for it come this autumn.
My biggest issue is always the schedule of it all- I never seemed to be able to find a good schedule that meshed with mine. When I had late starts tot he day the only classes available were early morning, and when finally have early morning starts, the classes are evening classes. It's the biggest conundrum... I just have to fandangle it I suppose! Nothing more I can do! It certainly is causing me stress though- I'm more likely to ditch practice for work, or because I am tired- which is a bad attitude to have. I'll be discussing with my Sensei if we can start a Passport system to help reinforce me coming for the times I plan to. This might actually be instrumental in motivating me to continue even if I'm tried.
So those are the biggest things on my plate right now. I'm not even going to cover regular daily doldrums, because hey- that's life! May there always be only the trite problems, and then I know I have it good.
Cheers out my friends! I'll be posting new art as of tonight- I had some paintings I finished over the last few weeks as well... I'll put them up!

I'll be starting to work on the designs as of tonight... and working diligently on all of them in the coming days. I'm aiming for a fast turn around, somewhere about 1 week per calendar. I'll be working on each one sporadically, and not all at once due to time, medium, and inspiration limitations.
Any questions, feel free to ask! :)

in order to give folks enough time to see the post, and get their name in, I'm leaving this up until Sunday, 3rd of August, 12pm Pacific Time.
To cast your ballot, please respond to this journal, and include if you want an NWP or Norse design, and of what [animal/s].

I'm so devistated right now
Posted 11 years agoI spent 2 hours crying tonight, as the result that a deer possession of mine was shattered.
I fact, a few of them were destroyed because my mother negligibly tried to over stuff the contents I requested into a box in the laziest way possible. The end result; my only Wolf skull- gifted to me by an Elder when I was working in the Community- was shattered. It was traditionally preserved, and the "varnish" was an actual traditional concoction of Pine sap, soot, sage, and a smoking technique. It was prayed over and was tended to by a traditional hunter, and after all this, was passed into my possession.
And it's shattered.
The skull was frozen with it's jaw open, and the crushing weight of the contents of the package crushed the mandible, and snapped it i half, and removed it form the maxilla completely.
I'm devastated. I don't' even know the proper traditional procedure to mend it, and with all these bad things going on lately, I feel like ti's just another bad sign of things going wrong. I'm so heartbroken, I have no words. This was SO dear to me. It's symbolism and it's reflection of my long work in the First Nation Community, and it carried a significance because of ti's gifting.
I don't know what to do with myself.

So I broke up with the boyfriend...
Posted 11 years ago... and I am both relieved and somewhat... meh?
I don't regret breaking up with him. He's a GREAT guy, but not the guy for me. Far to dry and logical, and while we could have great adult conversations... I felt there was no passion, or humor. I gave it a shot, and even pushed beyond the moment I felt it wasn't happening- obviously, wanting to be fair since he was the introvert type. I do understand the nee to let people come into their own, so time was of the essence.. but man, it's just disappointing, you know?
Anyways. Love still eludes me. I try, but there are no takers. I wait, but no one asks. I try, and I fail... but I learn, at least.
Maybe one day. I'll have a Raleigh Becket to compliment my Mako Mori.
One day, I'll find my Drift Compatible.

I'm so filthy sick right now
Posted 11 years agoMy Annual "Get something so horrible your fever goes through the roof" flu has come.
I am home from work today sick as a badly sighted spelling error [admit it, that was clever].
I guess fanart it is!
Although, I have some rough sketches I could put up.... maybe on tumblr.
I also have a painting I need to get done. Dammit, so many things to do, so little time!
I sneezed and contaminated my entire work room. Awesome.

The Big Announcement- you all have been waiting for!
Posted 11 years agoSO today folks, the last exchange took place, and now with everything in my possession, I can finally admit to what has been keeping me seriously preoccupied for the last 8 months:
Today I became a CONDO OWNER.
Yes that's right- I found a condo, went through ALL the proceedings, and became the legal owner of property. It's been a BIG dream come true. I've been saving since I was a teenager, and the grueling process of selection came an no little expense- monetarily and emotionally. The bottom line is, I found a place that made em excited, we went thorough the long proceedings of getting it all tied up, and it was delivered.
This weekend I go in to paint, and by next weekend, some furniture is delivered... and hopefully after that can move in.
I'll chime in with the specs this weekend... it's a gorgeous place with a lot of amenities. Right by a large park AND a large mall.. to major conveniences just steps away from my door. It's a relief to say the least... there were days I was pulling 12 hour shifts at work, followed by another 4 of condo-hunting.
The major part is done, and now the next 2 weeks will be a flurry of repainting, moving in, getting everything set up, all while dealing with work and freelance.
I tell you... today is a momentous day for me.
Stay safe everyone!

Update before the New Year!
Posted 12 years agoIt certainly has been quite the while!
The last few months have proven quite intense, as the production crunch at work led us to have our expected 12-14 hours days. Now, with the wrap of the project, I was expecting some down time that would allow me to focus on some personal projects. Quite [delightfully] unexpectedly, I ended up being hired into a new Studio with a gracious position on a fantastic new project!
While I cannot reveal anything of the new project [NDA], I can say that the one we just finished went viral online; The show is called "Mother Up", and you can catch it on Hulu.com for the time being. It will be airing Nationally coming the new Year. I'll be posting some promotional art that I helped produce in the coming weeks. Obviously, my fav character is Snowball- the Polar Beah.
Personal wise, things have being going splendid. I had quit the few synchronisic events, and as the clock ticks down to the big "announcement" [Jan 3rd I think it will ALL be revealed] I'm getting more excited for the preparations I'll have to face in the coming month. Safe to say, a handful of people know what it's about, but being superstitious as I am, Id' rather consolidate the final agreement and then let everyone else in on the joy. Until then, I'm reveling in my new found "Adulthood" [yah right] that comes along with a multitude of paper work and phone calls.
So I hope this explains [although, probably vaguely] the lack of uploads, and absence on my behalf. Work has certainly claimed the dominant part of my life, followed by "the announcement" and the prospects of a better tomorrow!
I recommend, if people want to see a more day-to-day activity form myself, try checking me out on Tumblr. Admittedly, some of my sketchy comic work has gone up there and not here due to its lack-of-fur content [Pacific Rim comics, etc].
Oh, and for those how inquired; yes, Gurdun and Æsben will be returning in several comics of their own. Simply, they have all been drafter out, with very little time to polish them for online viewing!
Until then, say safe. :)
