What did you see about the Bears, to shut 'em down that way?
Posted 16 years agoNah, we jus'
we jus'... we...
The Bears were what we thought they were.
They... they're what we thought they were.
We played them in preaeason,
Who the hell takes the third game of the preaseason like it's bull$#!+... Bull$#!+ !
We played them the third game, everybody played three quarters,
The Bears are who we THOUGHT they were!
That's the way we took the damn field!
Now, *smacks microphone* if you wanna crown them, then crown their ass!
But they are who we THOUGHT they were!
And we let 'em off the hook!
Yep yep.

Non-Scientific Survey of my Gallery says...
Posted 16 years agothat people like to see the following things:
- Muscles
- Penis
- Sforzando beating people up
- Watercolors
- Brox
Well, for starters, you're never, EVER going to see no. 2 and no. 3 together in the same pic, and most likely never going to see no. 2 and no. 4 in the same pic either. No. 5 pretty much implies no. 2. No. 1 is a given for most of my personal (i.e. non-school, non-professional) work.
No. 3 is incredibly fun to do, except it takes a while to get the composition right with multiple figures on the page, and if it involves no. 4, it takes even longer due to watercolors being kinda finicky and me having to layer values to get what I'm trying to achieve.
Speaking of no. 3, I have a little something special planned for a certain someone who decided to come into my Journal and disrespect my team.
Stop asking for no. 5. You know who you are.
Ummmmm, yeah. that was fun while it lasted.

Hey Radrab...
Posted 16 years agoHow does that slice of Humble Pie taste? Please, PLEASE don't come into my Journal and disrespect my team unless your team can hang with mine. Oh yeah, and we didn't have Larry Sanders. Otherwise your team might have just up and quit at halftime.
Better luck next time, Delaware. Maybe you can go back and play with Towson in the sandbox.

In 12 days...
Posted 16 years agoclasses will resume at VCU and I won't have much time to work on stuff. Just a heads-up.
Hmm, what else?
Journals are funny things for me. Those of you who follow me over on DA know I don't write them as often as I used to, and it sort of seems like I'm "forcing" myself to write them here just to keep up with stuff.
So what's on my mind?
College basketball, but from what I've seen here, very, very few furries actively follow sports (and even fewer follow them to the degree I do). I also mod nerf guns as a hobby when I'm not drawing mighty walruses or "it's-not-pr0n" that ends up being interpreted as pr0n. So meh.
Oh, and surprising people is surprisingly fun. I might be like the "Painterly Portrait Publisher's Clearing House" or something.
Yeah, I'm just rambling now. See why I don't write Journals? Because then I start blabbering. Blah blah blah. Go Rams Go.
That is all.

And the song I was listening to as I was coloring the Sforzando Ref shee:

'Cause trumpets are AWESOME! Only B-flat trumpets, though. Trumpets in E are fail.
By the way, that guy looks like William Chatner.

Normally I'm a Xbox360 supporter, but I have a soft spot for fighting game fans (my personal favorite is Soul Calibur 4. Hit me up on XBL if you play and we can throw down.)
Also, if you donate $50 or more, you'll get awesome art from Dineegla and MuscleWolf, plus a Painterly Portrait from yours truly. Wot wot? Hop to it!

Late Christmas Wishes
Posted 16 years agoHere's to a Merry Christmas... whatever Christmas you all have left, or belated Christmas for those of you east of GMT -1.
And a happy New Year.
Sforz-Santa missed his flight. He was too busy chugging down eggnog and scarfing cookies to make it. (Actually I left my tablet in Washington by accident...)
So maybe he'll make a late appearance this year, or maybe he'll just wait until next year to pull out the red coat. I haven't decided yet.
Anyway, Seasons' Greetings! I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

Atlantic Standard + Trouble In Paradise
Posted 16 years agoRight now I'm in the Atlantic Standard time zone (GMT -4... !) so yeah. St. Croix, USVI for the week. I'll be back in good ol' Eastern Standard (GMT -5) on Sunday. I'll be online earlier than you may be used to and less frequently until then.
Also it seems as though someone on the plane b0rked the power brick to my laptop, so I had to go out and buy a universal adapter ($115... !). I'm trying to recoup that money before I go back to campus sometime next month, so be on the lookout for full-painting commission openings in the near future.
By the way, I hate airplane travel. Which is kind of funny, because when I was younger I used to love airplane travel. It's just something about me that makes TSA decide to "randomly" do a full-item search of my carry-ons, my pockets, and my checked baggage. It happened in 2005 and it resulted in my bag making it to my destination... but not myself. So ever since, I have hated flying. I still love airplanes, just not being in them.
Umm, yeah.
I have a few Seasonal Surprises to give out, but I haven't been able to work on them since I've been too busy shoveling 26 inches of snow from our sidewalks and driveways. So they will be belated Seasonal Surprises.
Enough blabber. Have yourselves some happy holidays.

Something funny...
Posted 16 years agoI have Photoshop CS4, but I still do all my digital stuff in Photoshop 7. Go figure. The only thing CS4 does that 7 doesn't that I wish 7 did was scroll past the edges of the picture so you can work on details in the corners without resizing the pic.
What else is funny?
Oh yeah, I have a mini-surge of new watchers who are probably expecting porn to come churning out of this gallery. Well, erm... no. Just letting you know now so you won't be disappointed or eagerly awaiting the great flood of pen0r.
Yeah.
I'm gonna be in Washington from Friday until the new year at least, maybe longer. Art will be slow, and I won't be online as much.

Christmas Meme
Posted 16 years agoStolen from
dineegla
1. Real tree or Artificial Tree?
Artificial now, since we found out one of our cats was eating the shedding pine needles and started getting sick.
2. Miniature lights, LED lights, or Old fashioned bulbs on your tree?
Mini lights
3. Do you have a favorite ornament of your tree?
A hand-made ceramic shark-a-ma-thinger I made in the 3rd grade
4. Is there a special thing you you do (or have done) with your family at Christmastime?
Not particularly.
5. What is your funniest memory of Santa?
One time when I was supposed to go see Santa at the library, the kid in front of me in the line wet his pants and Santa had to go "home" for the day. I was crying like crazy for the rest of the week.
6. Do you like a white, snowy Christmas?
Yeah, but we never get those in Washington DC.
7. What is you favorite Animated Christmas movie on TV? And Character?
Frosty the Snowman, and the Abominable Snowman from that clay-mation story I can't remember the name of.
8. What is you favorite Non-animated Christmas movie on TV?
Home Alone
9. What is your favorite Christmas song?
Good King Wenceslas
10. Do you prefer hot cocoa or Eggnog?
Both
11. What is your favorite Christmas cookie?
Gingerbread, no icing or frosting. I'm a gingerbread purist.
12. What do you love to eat at your Christmas dinner?
Turkey and pumpkin pie. I know, a month late, but still...
13. Do you string up your Christmas Cards, Put them in a card bin, or set them up on a table?
Before last year, when I got one from DaBoz, I personally haven't gotten any christmas cards. I'm expecting a few more this year, though, so I'll answer this one in a few weeks.
14. Do you (have you) ever go (gone) Christmas caroling?
No. The streets of Washington are no place for a bunch of people singing songs outside the houses of strangers.
15. Have you ever been kissed under the Mistletoe? Just kissed?
Nope. Nope.
16. What is your most favorite Christmas memory?
Getting a train set when I was seven years old and running around the house like a headless chicken in excitement.
17. Do you open the presents Christmas Eve or morning?
Christmas morning, after church.
18. Do you like to give or get presents?
Both, though giving presents is slightly more rewarding.
19. Best Christmas gift you ever received? Worst?
The train set mentioned in no. 16 was the best. The worst was a set of kiddie bedsheets my stepdad got for me when I was 15. They had trucks printed on them. My mother even got mad at him. It was pretty funny, actually.
20. Hardest person to buy for? Easiest person to buy for?
The hardest is my stepdad, because 95% of the time he doesn't use what we get him. He doesn't even really make the effort. I understand him being kind of picky, though. My mother is pretty easy to shop for. Usually I get her funny slippers or socks, or a teddy bear.
21. What you hate most about shopping for Christmas gifts?
Cheesy music playing in the stores. I get sick of hearing the same five songs over and over again.
22. Most wonderful thing about this time of the year?
Special Holiday brews of coffee at Dunkin Donuts and Starbucks
23. Most annoying thing about this time of the year?
FINALS. GRAWRRRRGHHHHH RAAAAAAGE!!!
24. What do you want for Christmas this year?
A good set of headphones. Joy peace and happiness.
25. If you had one wish to give to anyone this Christmas, what would it be?
No idea. I'd have to think on that one.
Sforzando will be volunteering his time to play Santa Claus down at the Childrens' Hospital, though they had to make a special Santa Suit to accommodate his extra-broad shoulders.
Last final is tomorrow. At 8 AM. GRAWRRRGHHH RAAAAAGE!!!!

Of Late Nights & Knee-Jerk Reactions
Posted 16 years agoIt's late, I'm tired. Usually I'm better at deflecting drama but finals time is sorta stressful. My last one is on Tuesday and I'm currently pulling an all-nighter to get a project done by Noon on Monday.
So um, yeah.
Also, don't get used to seeing pen0r in my gallery. It was more of a "look, I did it, now shut up" kind of thing mixed with a "Hmm, but I wonder what it would look like if I didn't give him any clothes" kind of thing. I wasn't really intending for it to become a regular occurrence.
But yeah, I did it, so it's there. Enjoy.

Pen0r = Sellout?
Posted 16 years agoHaha, oh wow.
Wow.
Seriously? I'm a sellout now? I guess I sold my soul for $20 per digitally coloured sketch. Whatever.
If I draw mature stuff, I'm a sellout. If I don't draw mature stuff, I'm a prude and a purist and a furry-hater. What do you want, FA? Make up your damn mind or leave me alone.

Posted 16 years agoBecause, you know, it's not cool if I don't change it at least once a week.

But seriously. The funnier/more random/whatever the better.
Also I'll be away for Thanksgiving weekend.
Also commissions are STILL open! Grab them while they're um... warm.

Posted 16 years agoI recently passed the 10,000 pageview mark here on FA. No, don't congratulate me. It's not really an accomplishment.
At the time I write the journal, I have 552 watchers. Of those 500+, I honestly have to think about how many I've had actual conversations with, and I can count the number on two hands. (Most of those are actually carry-overs from DA, truth be told.) It really makes he stop and think about my presence on this site; what I get out of being here and what this community gets out of me being here.
The "Commission Fodder" was there because I wanted to spur some interest in commissions; I wanted to make a bit of supplemental income doing something I felt I could do without giving myself an aneurysm. I don't know; I've only had a few commissions during my time here on FA and most of them have come from the same folks time and again. But I suppose that's how it goes on FA when you don't really "know" anyone.
Ah well. I tried. Carry on.

Posted 16 years agoAlright that's it for Commission Fodder. There you go.
Commissions are still $10 for a pencil or digital sketch, $18 for digital color, $40 and up for full traditional paintings.
So, um, yeah. If you want me to start posting more work here that's a good way to do it.
Also, please feel free to contact me on messengers. They're right there on my profile page. I don't bite.
