Approval, Recognition
Posted 8 years agoI'm writing this way in the morning so bleh.
A lot of people see me as mr.popular due to my large watch count here on FA and some times because how many comments i get on some pictures. The truth is i don't feel that recognition through this community. I suppose its why i feel such paranoia here. It sounds egotistical when i put it like this but in reality i some times hope for approval from those who really dont deserve to give it. It feels weird to create something and ask very little from it if anything then to see someone do a YCH and patereon all the time and have their face painted all over FA from time to time for being "that awesome guy". I suppose its because people get what they want from them for a price and that makes them happy.
Not to mention i've had a lot of people who ask to be my friend but when i end up not talking to them i'm ether called a bad friend or just dropped because i didn't do enough. Friend ship should be a two way street and to appease to your needs means i have to put my life, ideas, and other more closer friends second. I feel kindof cold now though to some people cause i don't want to fall for that trap. But at the same time i don't want to seem like a jerk and wave them off...catch 22 i suppose.
There is one thing though I am proud of. I've kept to the straight and narrow all these years. All my characters have been just vore characters, nothing less. No nudity, no sexual innuendo, I literally can whip the plate clean with most of my characters and put them in a non vore story and, from what people tell me, people would still love them. I see so many artist now who have beloved characters devolve them in to monsters who eats countless people and sex puppets. Its fine of course if one wants to do that but it does leave a ever lasting stain on such a character. One that is very hard to reverse once done. What personality is forgiven in the vore community and fetish as a whole (since it fuels ones personal interest) is not so much forgiven or well liked out side of it.
I'm glad i wrote this up though as it did make me feel a bit more proud in my work. I'll be doing a follow up journal to this soon as i am out of time to continue. I would love to hear your feed back and opinion so leave a comment.

Still feel a little lost here
Posted 9 years agoAs many projects as i have going here, i don't feel much enjoyment interacting with this community. I have met great people here and of course I do enjoy vore. But the amount of joy i feel while doing this is rapidly shrinking and interacting with people feels like its dwindling. Feels like i have to fight to hold on to what i have now though that may be my paranoia.
I keep saying this but the more i say it the more i want to do it, i want to start more non vore projects. I actually want to do it enough and enjoy it enough that i can move away from vore. Maybe not entirely but enough that i don't have to feel like this is my only source of social interaction. I want to feel like i have good ideas and not cause there is vore attached to it.
I don't feel much love from this community. Some times I don't feel it from the friends I even make here. I keep feeling sad and alone and i'm tired of feeling it.
Once i get things squared away with Tumble and Fall Issue 7 and the comic series its self squared away I will be putting a lot less focus here and more on to non vore stuff. And no i will not say what my work will be, i want that as separate as possible.
Leaving a bit did help a little but it just further reinforced this idea, especially when i came back.
And to those who are my friends when i mentioned this. You are all great people and i will not leave you when i go more non vorish route. I'm not going to say which people are making me feel this way. I just wanted to get this off my chest.
Goodnight from,
Generationslayer
P.S. I made this pretty quickly so i apologize for the grammar and sentence structure

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Posted 9 years agoI hope everyone has a great holiday. I hear a lot of people though aren't being invited to thanksgiving dinner because of their political views. All i can say is stop spreading the hate and be a family this Turkey day.
As for me, i will be working my ass off! Yay retail!

I'm back for now
Posted 9 years agoI'm back to my old account. I don't know if this is the right thing to do but we will see. A lot of my anger had subsided and I got to play with some new ideas. I'll be posting a lot with in the next couple of days though this may be temporary depending on how i feel.
I don't think I let go enough to truly start over and people slowly but surely found out who i was. It was a lot of fun to start over, and i may go back to that account just to be...me i suppose.
But for now I am here again, and will be posting a lot of stuff, expanding on new ideas and old ones.
Thats about all i can say for now, if you have any questions just ask here.

Starting a new account
Posted 9 years agoHey everyone, Its GS here.
So i've been beating this thought around the bush for a while now but i think i want to start a new account. I feel the Generationslayer name is...well...not well liked anymore. Could be my paranioa and stuff but i'm just tired of the hate and awkwardness that comes with me. I have so many people who once said my work was their favorite now look at me as a jerk or in disgust. And i know for a fact a lot of people tell other people i use my friends and generous artist for my gains...which is ironic seeing how many i ACTUALLY see doing that.
I'm just frustrated i guess. Frustrated that my name brings such distaste and dislike. So i will be setting up a new account with a new face and new characters as well as new stories. I may move some lesser known characters over to it but things like loreit. exo, and others will stay here. I wont completely stop being here on my GS account but the amount of stuff posted on this account will probably slow to a crawl.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
I WILL NOT tell what my new account name is. The point is to start fresh and new. I'm sure people will eventually figure out who i am but for now i just want enjoy being new again. Only my close friends will know what the new account is.
This is generationslayer, and i'll see you guys around.

What would you like to see more of?
Posted 9 years agoLately i've been seeing the number of favs and comments drop significantly dropped in these couple of months. I have been planning some stories to be put up but i also wanted to ask what do you guys want to see more of?
I ask this cause i like to continue working here but i've also been debating whether or not to open a new account. Like i said i know my biggest problem is not making my characters "do" anything but i've been planing and plotting. Still i want to hear peoples inputs
Note: aside from vore i'm still a clean artist

Mini kickstarter idea for free comics (Counting on you all!)
Posted 10 years agoOk so recently i have been extremely busy in real life, what with Christmas, personal projects, and personal life projects (there is a difference lol) Because of this its kept me tied up.
However there is one idea i've been talking about among my friends. The idea of a small kickstater to create a comic (or comics depending on how the test run will be). A lot of people ask me to continue series or to make some of my paid one's free. I do plan on continuing payment in full but have also been thinking of revamping it. Course that will take more money to create a better experience for ever one.
As for the paid ones, if i released those for free it wouldn't be fair for those who paid for it and who i work with to create it. So yeah, that won't be happening anytime soon,
So in order to both help get more ideas out in better quality and to have more free comics out, i want to go ahead and start a sort of mini kickstarter for a comic, if its successful (both in development and viewer satisfaction) then i will start using this process on other comics as well, leading to more longer, better looking, and free comics.
I know i've tried something similar in the past for a comic and it didn't got well due to miss communication and such. This time how ever, this will be more well planned out and timed. Already the idea is for a 10 page grey scale comic staring La Prez. The target goal (atm) is 300 dollars. Once schedules and a script is developed, details will be announced, time frames will be shown, and the fundraiser will start.
NOT A DIME OF THIS FUNRAISER WILL GO TO ANYTHING ELSE UNLESS IT SURPASSES THE GOAL (in which case it will probably be funded to bonus's or to another comic). Right now though i just wanted to give a heads up now. If you want to show your support or have any questions, please comment below.
Thank you for your time guys and i hope you support!

New non vore stories and projects being developed
Posted 10 years agoHey guys been a while. I've been kindof in a developer rut lately debating on what stories i should put my focus on for a while now. However thanks to the power of a very powerful game, its filled me with determination to start making non vore art and stories. (see what i did there A.A) I got several stories in mind that i think will all be amazing from American Colonial dragon rider to a former villain wanting to make the last wish of his best friend come true.
There maybe some questions involved if i just ended it there so i'll go ahead and go ahead and answer a few.
Q: Will i be posting them here?
A: No, it will be posted on a new deviant art account. I want to kindof start fresh and new. To be judged by my writing and...maybe art skills if i get good enough.
Q: Will I post a link to this new account?
A: Again No. I want this to be a fresh start for me. I will tell a few close friends and hope that word of mouth spreads about my work but i want to avoid tieing as much vore to my work as possible. Hopefully if you like my style of writing you'll be able to find me easily.
Q: Will you be leaving vore for good and stopping projects like TAF?
A: No. While i may want to journey another path i'll keep my FA open and other things going for both my love for vore and the friends and fans i hold promise too. I will be much slower here then there (at least that's the plan) but i'll still be around. However i will be deleting my DA page since...i don't do anything there to begin with.
So those are the common questions i think i will get. If you have any others please post a comment below. Thank you for reading everyone and i really appreciate your support if you kindly spare some ^.^

Thank you every one for the support
Posted 10 years agoThank you for the support every one. I feel a lot better and a lot stronger. It will be a while though till i get back to normal levels but thanks to every one who supported me i think i'll be ok. So again thank you every one!
I don't know if i can do this any more
Posted 10 years agoI've just gotten in a fight with some one today, a person who claims that i'm an uncaring being and that other people think that i'm a selfish ass hole who just wants free art. I know most of this isn't true but...if thats the rumor going around about me then...am i really that awful?
I'm not asking for pity or anything like that i'm just giving a heads up whats going on.
I've been going in to a downward spiral lately and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. Less and less people view my work, i've angered quiet a few people, there are rumors about me spreading, and i can't hold on to friends.
I do my best, i really try...but i'm beginning to question what is the point any more. Am i damned if i keep walking this path? Is my reputation that smeared that this is what people think of me now?
I don't know any more...I may just give up and move on to another project and ideas...and forget my Generationslayer identity...this is what i think now....whether or not this will happen..i don't know.

Changing up a little what i submit
Posted 10 years agoI've kindof gotten off the beaten path with my submissions lately, focusing more on still vore images rather then any character development or viewing.
Its probably a combination of both the lack of attention to some and the fact that a lot of the art i pay for and since i know there story, i just like to see them eat something A.A
BUT that will some what change a little. Slowly but surely i'll start submitting more character developed pics. That doesn't mean i'll stop getting vore pics or writing it but i'll be brooding out to explore my characters.
This does mean that there MAAAAAAYBE more stories written but again i have little ambition and in some cases little recognition and time to do it (yes i know i should be doing it for my self but its a good motivator too)
And last but not least, free to read comics. Yes this is every ones favorite but it cost the most money out of anything, thus why tesla's story was postponed for more profitable stories like Tumble and fall and dragon raid.
However Payment in Full will eventually continue again as well as another that is being worked on right now. The plan behind this comic is that it will have a page released any where between 1 month to 2 weeks. The comic will be sketched but i will see if a i can set up a patreon where people can donate to it monthly to have the graphics of the comic upgraded when we reach certain mile stone.
Now i did already put a lot of commissions in for vore pictures to help some friends out so expect those, but afterwards there will start being more story based art and concept in the works.
I hope you all enjoy it!

Update and questions
Posted 10 years agoTo reply to the previous journal we won't do nazi characters but will do civilizations based around the whole ideology stuff...if we ever do it. It just makes things easier XD
Also i've been seeing a lot of Patreon stuff flowing around and though "How else can i empty some ones pockets a month?" Not really but i still like to set up donations and/or some sort of Patreon.
However to set up such a thing would require me to do something in return...which sadly i can not cause i'm talentless lol
There is one concept i wanted to try and that's a low patreon based free to view comic concept i call "Pay to upgrade". The concept is very simple. We only accept low amounts of donations, between 1-5 dollars. However, after we start receiving a large amount all together the comic will up grade. So for example, in total we make 20 dollars a month. The comic will be upgraded from a sketch to line art. 50 a month the comic page would be released biweekly instead of monthly. and so on and so forth.
Again this is just a concept i have. I don't really understand how patreon works or how some one like me could use it. But any ideas and such greatly helps me produce work for you ^.^
(if this sounds insulting, egominded, or anything bad it is not ment to be and i am sorry if it did)

After the prey has been eaten
Posted 10 years agoThis is just a quicky.
So i've been around a while. I've seen the vore community grow in both good and bad directions but I don't want to my two cents in that jar...not publicly anyways. One thing though still hasn't really changed much in the term of story writing and comics and sequences...its that a lot of people “avoid” the after devouring event.
What I mean by that is that when ever a creature, monster, or person eats something or someone, the story tends to ether stop after there done eating or completely skip a day or something and return with an empty belly.
All I can say to that is HOW FUCKING BORING!!!! Call me a fan of bellies or what ever but I like to see the “after effects” of nomming up some one the same size as them selves. To have something just go away or stop ruins the fun and awkwardness of it. Have the character try to do choirs or a job while they have there large sloshing belly. Or if the character doesn't care have it walk through public just so people can be really shocked by it. SOMETHING!
This can be both for fatal and non fatal though I find non fatal more fun in an awkward sense. Just seems like a wasted opportunity to not have the character...basically continue there life. Now granted having the prey devoured and ending the story there is a good dramatic end but so many story's do that. And having the pred wake up in the next morning with no belly is just goofy to me. I know some people like the idea that “nothing happened” when the prey is digested but still.
Also i want to make it clear. Im not talking about right after the prey is eaten. I'm talking about minutes or even hours after the prey has been devoured.
So if your writing a story, try thinking about putting your character with a large belly in a fun/awkward spot, it might be a lot of fun.

My inability to create cruel characters for fetishes
Posted 10 years agoSo i've been around long enough to know that there are a lot of people who like having more harsh characters/ideas for there vore/fetishes and times i too fall under this area as well depending on my mood.
However very recently I had came up with a story idea based around a fox who would discover the ability to eat other beings but even discovers there is a group that supports this and uses it to rise to power and she joins it. A bit of a darker tale then say my normal stories but i'm no stranger to it ether. However as i thought about it more, i became more hesitant about it because i realized the character itself was a very harsh character. Again, i don't mind making harsh characters but then comes the element of fetish and death comes to play and....i just kindof freeze up on the idea.
I don't tend to like these characters with fetish because they come off as unlikable. Now there are some exceptions to this rule and every one has there own flavor and opinion. But for me, developing a flat character that eats to eats just doesn't come naturally to me, especially in a story. I'm still on the fence with this story idea since it is new and the protagonist isn't doing it just to vore. She just gets a "taste" of power and begins to use it so to speak.
I realize though the reason why i like doing more light hearted vore is because its a bit easier for me to deal with what i created. I don't have to be in a certain mood to enjoy it and i'm sure other people can agree on this. some people are willing to see something more light hearted and fun rather then dark and twisted...at least story wise. Not to mention there is a lot of that stuff around already.
Also if any one wants to know about the story and if it will be made, i don't know. Its brand new and i haven't given it any edge yet to it to help it stand out some.
Thanks for giving this a read :D

Laptop destruction Y.Y
Posted 10 years agoSo yeah my laptop is pretty much dead. Its not impossible to repair but i need a soldering tool to do it, which i don't have. For now i'm going order a hard drive data transfer cable and save the data to my larger computer. As for the laptop, i might scrap it for parts and upgrade my old asus and see if i can save it (which also has the same problem as my other one lol) or i'll just get a cheap tablet. Ether way works. Till then there might be a slower response rate from me (though not much) and may have a lack of items for a little (idk what was super important on my laptop that i might need)
Also the problem with both the asus and the hp laptop is that the power connector has broken loose from its spot. So no power, no laptop.

Angry Joe vs. Nintendo
Posted 10 years agoAngry Joe vs. Nintendo
Warning: Potentially controversial
Hey guys, its been while. Sorry if I haven't been active and what not cause life stuff but I should be a little more active this coming week. I thought the best way to show i'm back is posting a controversial subject! YAAAAAAAAAAY!
Before I begin, yes I am a fan of Nintendo but i'm also a fan of Angry Joe and this stems a bit deeper then that in to the legal system and Lets players vs game companies.
Situation: Angry Joe, a lets player and reviewer of games, had recently acquired a Wii U and some gear. How he got this I will explain in a moment. He then records Mario Kart 8 lets play and post it with it monetized (meaning it can make money through ads). Nintendo flags this as a copyright and takes it down. Later Angry Joe makes a video on how Nintendo is being greedy and failing. A bit later, Angry joe and several of his friends got together and did a lets play of Mario Party 10, also monetized, also copyrighted by Nintendo. Angry Joe again later made a 13 minute video on how Nintendo failed, is greedy, and is forever boycotting Nintendo products.
Background stuff: So its no stranger to any one that Lets Play's are a legal battle ground here in the states. Game companies believe that they should earn money for game play footage cause it is there content being used and shown while lets player's believe they should earn the money because they put the time and bought the game so its fair use.
As time went on, more and more companies became “relaxed” over lets plays. However foreign companies like Capcom, Sega, and Nintendo, aren't catching on to the fact that lets plays are good. Nintendo themselves have started a Creator Program where lets plays can earn (I think) 70% of the revenue for a video and 80% if its a channel, if its not part of this program, it will be taken down. I'll go in to how bad this in a moment.
Now you might be thinking because this isn't right, Angry Joe is in the right....right? Well...no...morally and business wise its not right. Legally how ever, Nintendo is in the right. So that means, morally correct or not, it is illegal to go against these rules. These aren't private rules ether, they are publicly available and a lot of lets players know about these.
So...yeah, Angry joe is in the wrong here legally and seeing him cry that Nintendo is taking his money is like seeing some one park in a handicap spot and getting fined for it.
Gossip: So here is something that might be sickening. I don't know if this is true or the actual details about it, but in the video where angry joe rants that he spent 900 dollars for the console and gear, is accused of not being true. In fact, a lot of people are saying people that the wii u was donated to him, or the money was donated to him to buy it. If that's the case and he used the money donated to get the console or he used the donated console, then he is some what obligated to his fans to post some sort of lets play video or something, even if its for free. This kindof makes his “Nintendo is greedy” video's very hypocritical and is more punishing to him self then Nintendo. Again I don't know if this is 100% true or not but I really hope not!
Final thoughts: Ok let me go ahead and attack Nintendo first. There creator program sucks...like really sucks. I can see great potential in it if they A) increase the revenue to the lets players B) allow more if not all games to be lets played and C) offer rewards for high views, likes, and subscribers. They already do this with a lot of reviewers like projared and beard bro's (who do give honest reviews about there content). It also can help remove the grey zone and be the for runners if the laws ever change and remove the grey zone. As its stands right now though, it is bad and needs to be changed or removed. But we don't need voices like Angry Joe's, like a child who got caught with there hand in the cookie jar and is crying cause he didn't get the cookie, to cause some real change.

New Comic series: Christys Tales of Misfortunes
Posted 10 years agoThat name is still pending and its this christy http://www.furaffinity.net/view/3990047/ ... not the well known furry christy XD
any ways moving on.
This is a non continuous vore comic series based around Christy, the lovable jinx.
Many of you probably don't know who or what she is so i'll make a quick summary. Christy is a bird who is pretty sweet and has a warm bubbly personality with a pretty skidish nature. She lives in a world where there are predators who would jump at the chance to devour her.
Christy how ever has one power that helps keep her alive. If a predator tries to eat her, the universe in some way shape or form, makes them end up in her stomach, thus leading to some pretty wild and crazy events that results in a very full and confused bird.
The cool thing about this comic series is that in each issue a different artist will take control of the art style and direction.
For this upcoming issue (if everything goes well) will be handled by the amazing
ndnode based on a story that was already written but now will be visually seen.
The comic will be about 10 pages and in this version it will be inked with shading involved.
If this comic does come to be, what would you believe would be a good price for it? and would you be interested in purchasing it as well?

Hatred...The Genoside Simulator?
Posted 11 years agoBefore i start this i want to make this point.
I do not believe that video games can create violence actions. I do believe that it can be a trigger to those who have..lets say less stable mind set. This goes for any media from books to movies. Good examples are catcher in the rye and Taxi Driver and more recently, the slender man attempted murder case.
Anyways, moving on to the topic at hand.
Hatred is a Indie game that has been in development for a while now. I'm not going to post a link cause i don't want to endorse this game in any way. The goal of this game is to committee genocide. Not like a god or anything but a man with a trench coat who's sole purpose is to go out in the street and kill as many innocent people as possible before you yourself is killed.
This game, in my opinion, does take violence too far. Not because its gory but because its sadistic. It mimics crazed shooters and very violent actions that can be done in real life (And have been)
I know there are other games out there that are very violent such as poastal and GTA but those are cartoony...there worlds unrealistic, there actions are your own and not the games. In other words, there stupidly unreal...
Hatred is different though. Your goal is too kill people, as many people as possible, there are even very violent moves like holding a woman by her hair while shooting her in the face.
I'm not saying this as a "Think of the children" thing. More as, "Who the fuck is this marketed too? and "When is the line crossed?"". Despite being on steam green light it was rejected by the steam admins. I agree with this action. This game isn't something that should be marketed or adverstised as "marked down sales"
Its like having a super porno XXX snuff fun magazine. You don't sell that at walmart, you sell it in the store behind the walmart. Why? Because people look for that stuff there.
In summary, its not that i am against this games creation...ok a little...more of a wtf deal...but its more that this game has reached a line where its contents are more for those who seek it, not to those who viewed it.
Thank you for reading. Please don't ask me for a link to the site, find it yourself :P

Why having vore in adventure stories is hard.
Posted 11 years agoFirst off i wanna say its been a while every one. I've been really busy between work and school. Gonna be graduating soon so that's got my attention for now. Also kind of want to work on some non vore projects as well. Plan on having a separate account for that on DA.
Dont worry though, some stuff is coming. A few arts, a few ideas, and the next chapter of tumble and fall is coming soon so thats good :D
Any ways, on to the subject that is in the title.
Writing a story is hard. Writing an adventure is harder. Writing a good adventure story with vore is even harder. Before I continue, what i mean by adventure story is a story that last more just one event. something based around a character or characters that tend to have a same setting and sometimes story line but different events happening as they go through the main plot.
I've looked for a while now and haven't really found any "original" adventure stories. Most i've found are all based on some other grand idea like pokemon or karbos universe. Making adventures around such concepts is a bit easier. The world is already created, event and bad guys are already established and in some cases even the quest itself is established as well.
I'm not saying that there aren't any good fan fiction out there but its very far and few in between. What i like to focus on though are more "original" adventure stories...with vore.
Adventure stories are very difficult. Depending on the size and what goes on it requires a lot of thought and planning in order to at least be consistent, let alone good. Multiple events happen, challenges both that threaten the character and the quest. and of course the quest itself. All have to atleast have some idea before becoming something larger.
Then there is the vore. This just adds more to the mixture. You can have too much and it takes away from the story or too little to make it worthless. You also have those people who like to skip over the whole story just to find a good part. *raises hand in guilt*
Now, if you want your character to be a bit unfavorably with ethics or in a world where its super common with certain creatures then its a bit easier. Also if vore is reform or safe its also easier to do.
The first part might leave a bad taste in peoples mouths and hinder them from continuing on. Likewise, safe vore and reform takes the edge away from the drama, thus making it a rather bore. This is if you want to appease the audience though.
What makes it hard...and interesting though is more of an "ethical" vore. The protagonist or a partner of the protagonist having the ability to vore and using it on certain individuals that deserve or. That is hard, especially when balancing it in an entire adventure due to its limitations.
So yeah, large and multiple ideas combined with an ability that can be used in only certain times and what a lot of readers wish to see only some times? Yeah...its hard and thats why its so rare to find an ethical vore adventure.
Its also why i practice it. Not cause its rare and i like it but...its kindof fun. Its interesting to think what can come out of something that requires a lot of thought and process. And i enjoy the challenge. It brings a lot of new ideas and things to the table.
So if you are in to such stories, give it a go your self, you might just like it :3

Furthering Education
Posted 11 years agoSo this is a bit of a continuation of the last journal about the faulty education in America and how its disrupting our paths to the future...some what. I still think there are middle schools and high schools that rather display a big shiny trophy case of “sports” then actual educational results.
School: “We have State Trophy for Track!”
Me (or any other parent wanting good education for there kids): “What is your average GPA of students when they move on to the next grade?”
School: “...we have a Silver trophy for soccer”
When the schools bragging rights are ether sports or something a student had “naturally”, that's not good. What we need to do is bring back what education should be and, thanks to today's technology, a place of scholars, even when young. Back when the public education started, giving students homework and drilling them with studies was the only way to learn. But I don't think algebra and knowing who wrote “The Great Gatsby” was not a common thing to study about. Heck I think you had to be in high school till you learned any of that. The job of school was to give you basic knowledge of the world, culture, math, and English. If you wanted to explore more, you went to college. If not, you lived at least as an educated man.
As time passed, our understanding of everything grew. Physics, chemistry, Trigonometry, and so on and so forth. Now our line of basic education is so high, its very hard to meet it. Is growing what we learn in education a bad thing? No, not at all. Its good that public education can reach such heights now. The problem though is its too much for a lot of people to take in. And if gaps appear in education (say I don't know how to cross multiply and divide fractions very well.) well algebra will be very hard for me and by the time I do get it, we'll already be in algebra 2. The time I spent trying to understand cross fractions is wasted rather then understanding the fractions used in the equations thus creating even more gaps in my education. I my self could attempt to fix this by trying harder and studying harder but if you go back and ask every elementary to high school student and ask them if they spend time fixing there own educational flaws, I guarantee you most will say no.
How can we fix this? Well going back to what I said, we need to turn our schools in to scholar halls, not force labor camps of education. We need to make students want to learn, not force them to learn. Kids are not stupid, they are curious and still new to the world. Fun equals positive reinforcement and this can be used in advantage to help further mindsets, even if they don't know it.
From my personal experience, science fascinated to me...and since I didn't have the distractions of cable tv, I loved watching the magic school bus and bill nye the science guy. Because I love this programs so much and what they taught, I sought out another less then childish show that was easy to understand but still held a great amount of information. This was PBS Nova The elegant universe. How well did this work? At 10 years old (I believe that’s how old I was) I knew about the theory of string theory, the big bang, the 4 powers of the universe, worm holes, parallel worlds, light speed, black holes, Quantum mechanics, and very much more. Ironically, education itself is what kept me from going the path of a physics degree. Rather then utilize and grab hold of my fascination, it some what shunned me away and overloaded me with the mathematics, thus killing my love for such things.
But lets think on that for a moment. What if schools took this direction? If something like Magic School bus, Bill nye, and even something as old and simple as school house rock can help hundreds understand and learn something in a half hour, perhaps even make them want to learn more, then why can't an entire educational system based around these concepts?
My personal belief is tradition and money. Its hard to reshape an entire school system based on years of traditions and it cost lots of money to recreate it. But this is the next century. We have internet, good 3d design programs, adobe flash, hundreds of game creators and animators graduating every day... A change is needed and now is the time.
For the next journal I like to talk about some ideas that might help our schools and some I hope to implement in the future. For now though, here is a nice little graph where the worlds nations stands in education (hint: look for the united states...)

The high school to college to job problem
Posted 11 years agoBefore we start i want to say that this, almost everything i say here is opinion based and one thats been bugging me for a while. I'm just a snake with a big mouth :0
Right, down to the issue.
I recently read in my schools newspaper that student debt is spiraling out of control and jobs are hard to be found. They blame everything from the schools to the jobs to even the kids them selves. And i some what agree with them. I myself is about to graduate soon and i'm really terrified if i can find a job in my field or not. I know though that i am in a more stable position with a good career path then say some other students who gone to super expensive colleges for English or religion or something...or even nothing for some people.
This problem starts really in high school. Mostly the junior and senior year. In America we have a program called "No child left behind" which it does what it says, make sure that no child is "failed" right out of school. The answer to this though are these test where students take them every two years. The better the students grade on the test the more money the school recieves. Right there, about 6 out of the 9 months are spent preparing for this test. A test that offers little to nothing to the students. The money earned for these test can be corruptible as well. Like the school board deciding that its a good idea to build a 1 million dollar field house that doesn't even have a freak-en pool instead of updating programs, computers, and books. So right there your education isn't well.
Still in high school, even with out this test, you take the mandated classes and feel as though you are prisoner. The school spends most of its money on sports and very little effort is put in to clubs or teaching of jobs and the market value of them (if you were in a very poor school like me), yet they push for the idea for you to college. So when you graduate, there are two things that you know in your head you want to do when you go to college. You want to go to the best one, and you ether want to do what you love, or do the easiest.
Most of the time, dealing with "what you love" tends to fall in to the category of arts. Art, Music, writing, acting, so on and so forth. While i'm not going to say that its impossible to get a job after wards going to school for these, i will say that the market is heavily saturated with people educated in the same field, and most likely you will work in an area that you are not happy with to begin with. The easy route, general degrees and such, tend to be too vague as well. Don't need to explain really how well that goes.
Now none of this really matters on what field you go to since you will hopefully end up earning a job at some point down the road. Well what does matter is rather the school you choose. This is what is killing the kids who spent 4 + years of study and hard work.
Most kids want to go to the most expensive school because normally they have the best things to offer. Thanks to the internet though, that is becoming more and more false with each passing year. I live in a town that has two colleges, the ever so expensive Flagler and a community college that became state not too long ago. Back then, Flagler was definitely the better choice of the two to go to. Despite how expensive it was, you were paying for the services, the materials, and what ever technology was need to complete it.
Now though, internet has grown greatly with in the last 10 years, Technology and books needed to conduct research can be found instantly with a single google search and services like Flash, Trancender, and so on can be provided over it. Despite these advancements, big named colleges continue to keep there high prices. Why? cause your paying for the name more then anything now. Small cheap college's though are growing rapidly and are providing almost an equal opportunity as the big wigs. I would go as far to say, unless you plan on building giant robots, areo space technology, or a drill that can go to the center of the earth, you are better off going to a community college first. Just be sure to do a little research before you decide which...look at the graduation rate, academics, AND prices.
There are ways to better insure for a job. Job shadowing, internship, and programs out there that help. Of course, that would be great if A. more jobs were open to do it, and B. Students had more free time. I feel our school funding towards students is very corrupted. For example, in order for me to receive a student loan, i have to be ether 24 to be claimed as a independent, or me and my family have to be seriously broke for a year. Nether one is an option that i have control over. You can get loans which help but for living conditions, the only thing you can do is get a job, which cuts your free time. Not only that but you must also balance what is a livable hour/wage and what is the right amount of class and study. If a student wants to push them selves, unfortunately, they will have to cut out that free time for internships and job shadowing.
I rambled a lot with this so here is the summary of what i'm getting at.
The American school system is broken. Its not really the loans that are killing students but rather there career path and what is offered to them. So many students have been mislead, misused, and been misinformed about what they should or shouldn't do and how to do it. This won't be something that can be fixed with a simple law though but rather better programs at the high school level and support through college. Its not impossible to have a career in what you love, but you have to be smart and humble to say "Am i good enough to take on the odds stacked against me? And if not, what should i do to continue what i love with out sacrificing the future of my life?"
The best verse i can find for this is this.
"Plans are worthless, but planning is everything." Dwight D. Eisenhower

What do you want to see in a Comic Buisness?
Posted 11 years agoForgive the grammer and misspellings. im on my phone due to the lack of internet right now.
So, plans for more future comics are under way for genslayer productions. things might be slow for a while due to real life but some comics are in development. and some scripts are nearly finished for more. I have many friends and artists who want a piece of the action as well and i hope i can serve them all to the best of my abilities.
In the mean time i have been watching another group, swallowtail, grow and advertise them selves. Though i am no where near on par with them and wont be for a long time, i still hope to compete against them in my own way.
After some experinces with what few comics already sold, ive learned a lot and my practices will hopefully get better (to those who have delt with my inexperince i am sorry)
In order to get a better idea of what people want from my/our little company i like to hear your thoughts or questions and/or suggestions. it would mean a lot to me and genslayer productions if i was given feed back on what to expect.
Here are a few answers to any questions that may arise:
Will there be any sexual or extreme content in the comics?
Asidr from mostly vore and some mild graphic scenes if the story calls for it, no. i hope to gather a wider audience by promoting what people mostle expect to see. Stories that do contain more intense scenes willl be for warned. some of my friends and co producers xo make more "mature" art style so it is recommended you check them out if you like what you see.
Are you accepting story ideas right now?
At the moment no. i have plenty of stories already in my head that i hope to get done. i do plan on letting viewers decide what comic idea become real if i have too many ideas. and if i run low i will hold a think tank and credit those who come up with a great idea.
Those are just a few questions i hope to see. i aso like to hear feed back and ideas on how to improve satisfaction. please comment :D
and again sorry for this mess. my phone sucks at long messages

What will be remembered?
Posted 11 years agoSo this was an interesting thought i've been thinking about for the past few days and i thought i'd share it with everyone to see what people thought.
We live in a world where technology transmits art, writing, videos, and music can travel at incredible speeds and, given the right programs and tools, can be seen and created with details our ancestors could dream of creating.
With this mass of art flooding our homes and mind day in and day out, not to mention that "art" has become a big business for any one to take up, it seems the impact of art is now just fads that die away with in a year or less with the next "popular" thing.
So lets say one day, the fad cycle stops. Some catastrophe causes a halt in all cultural development. What would be left over?
Culture is defined by what a civilization desires and defines it. David, Mona Lisa, Dante's Inferno, ect. Way back when, the lack of communication (not to mention exploration of such art) was not exorcised as much as it is today making a very huge impact and very defined as one of a kind.
This seemed to relevant even in the 1900. With the growth of technology, the culture (in America as far as i know) changed every 5 - 10 years. Different architect, fashions, even ways to view or think the world. Despite this, things that even kids know today are instilled in to our culture. Wizard of Oz, Charlie Chaplin, Mario, ect.
But now we reached a point in our culture thanks to the internet where some popular and well loved, only last several years or in some cases, several months, before the next big thing comes around.
I view this as both a good and bad thing. Good as in culture no longer defines the civilization but rather the individual. There are a few things that a majority may like but for the most part we all have the things we like.
The bad part is that there is nothing that truly define us except our past and traditions now. That's pretty broad of me to say. What i mean to say is say is lets say i took the most popular items in the last 5 years and put it in a box. The 50 years later, a person comes and sees all the things collected. Not only would this be massive, these things had such a short time to impact us as a culture to really see if it is good or not.
I'm just thinking here though and i'm not saying what i say now will hold up. Part of being a historian is to distinguish what is and isn't significant to a cultures history and we won't know till until the future.
So the question remains. What will be remembered?
