Ignore those last two journals. That was the result of letting my emotions get the best of me.

Aside from that, on to the real message. I'll be on hiatus for a while. When will I come back?

I honestly don't know. The reason is that my art has been lacking and I'm fed up with it. To fix this issue, I'm going to be honing my skills for the time being until I can gain an understanding of various features of the body, an understanding of perspective and an improvement on detail. It's not going to be easy and how long it takes is unknown to me. I just hope that it will be short.

The whole point of his character before it was bastardised in the Buu saga was that despite being afraid, Gohan would rise up to the challenge and protect those he loved. He would surpass his father and become the new badass hero. But the saiyaman happened and only now he realises that he needs to keep training to be strong to protect those he loved? He actually needed another view of the planet being destroyed for him to realise that!? Are you fucking kidding me?

Toriyama, sometimes you just plain suck at writing.

It's fucking annoying. 'Trash', 'Garbage', 'Cancer', 'Butchered' among other buzzwords. These words seem to be passed along like gospel these days, to overblow something whether its a plot point in a game or 1 tiny piece of trivial content cut or a flawed system like the parkour system in Lost World. Take Sonic 4 for example

'This game is garbage, its not like the classics'
'Its not the best game, the physics need a lot of work and there are other issues but its still a fun game for what it is. Its quality doesn't reach 'garbage level'
'YES IT FUCKING IS! THIS GAME IS CANCER TO US ALL!'

That's what I mean. Sonic 4 is an ok game, as is Lost world. Noone is denying that they have flaws and some serious issues but we aren't treating it as the coming of the anti-christ. For fucks sake, if you're going to be critical of a game be fucking just with it. And classic fanboys, you need to get the fuck over the classic era; it wasn't all sunshine and rainbows. You know what game deserve a 'trash' rating? Ride to Hell:Retribution. Superman 64. E.T.

Those games are badly programmed, have awful level design and control like shit. Not Sonic 4 or Lost World. And what I'm about to say doesn't just go for Sonic, it goes for every game. Properly review it. Focus on the good and the bad. Don't overrate the good and don't overblow the bad. Be just for fuck's sake. Overly negative assholes.

The one's who vastly overreact to the removal of a trivial feature like the removal of a boob slider in Xenoblade X; call you a 'censorship apologist' and shame you if you think such trivial features that have been removed are no big deal to complain about then create a "censorship apologist bingo card" of sorts. A bingo card with a lot of points that misinterpret the points made by others. The one's who say 'you should care or you're an idiot. Boycott the game now!', then say 'Why do you care what I do with my money. Stop telling me what to do!' The one's who throw buzzwords like, garbage, butchered, trash etc when one inconsequential feature was removed and boycott the game cause of said removal and said games they boycott are niche games

This is mainly about the Xenoblade X boob slider removal but I'm seeing more of these people who blow inconsequential removals way out of proportion. I say, it's a stupid removal of a trivial feature that wasnt implemented well. Thats fucked up and shame on NoA but jesus christ, boycotting a game over the removal of a boob slider, a slider that barely made a difference!? Calm down.

Nice slippery slope fallacy there. Shall I remind you Nintendo has done much worse in the past and it has lessened these past few years because we told them that this is bullshit? And if they censor a vital part of the game like plot points then yeah I wouldnt buy it, because that censorship was actually something to give a shit about.

Honestly, TELL NINTENDO WHY YOU DONT LIKE IT INSTEAD OF BITCHING IN THE YOUTUBE COMMENTS AND FORMUS, OVERREACTING BY BOYCOTTING THE GAME AND SHAMING OTHERS WHO FIND THAT IT ISN'T REALLY A BIG DEAL. BECAUSE IT ISN'T! It's annoying but there's vastly more important things to worry about, like day 1 DLC in popular franchises. That's something to boycott.

My god was this review BAAAAAD

This was supposed to be a review. A video game review is supposed to analyse and evaluate the core functions of a game, it's story and the characters. This review did nothing of the sort. As expected from these SJW's they focused solely on Lara's feelings alone, how she felt when killing the opposition who were out for her blood and criticising how the game glorified violence and didn't have Lara feel traumatised while in combat. Before I deconstruct these criticisms, I want to point out this was the majority of the review. The last quarter held one more criticism that pissed me off the most and it just shows that these people aren't looking to play games or be gamers, but to try and change the culture to be about identity politics and ideologies, to fit their world view at the expense of everyone else's enjoyment. There was NOTHING about the mechanics of the game. There were very, very brief mentions about the level design, the combat mechanics, how the upgrade system worked, the story and the setting.

Now for the deconstruction.

"The game glorified Violence"

Well of course it did. It's a video game, an action/adventure video game. Of course there's going to be violence in it. Don't you know that games allow us to do things that we could never do in real life? And that violence in many, many games is what makes them interesting in the first place. Action oriented games are popular for a reason. They allow us to have a sense of power, enjoyment. It's an escapists reality from the hardships of life.

"Lara didn't show her feelings in combat"

Your feelings come second after you deal with a horde of Mercenaries that are trying to hunt you down and end your life. Emotions come after the whole ordeal, not during. Lara isn't a blubbering wimp. It's funny, you say you want her to show more emotion, to show that she's suffering, yet you criticise the first game for doing that. And you say you want strong, independent female characters. Furthermore, I have to say this again. IT'S A FUCKING VIDEO GAME! It's not supposed to be realistic down to the T otherwise that would make for a boring game. You're supposed to have fun.


"There are Mercenary dudes, but no mercenary females"
One. Who gives a shit about what gender they are. They are people who want to kill you. No sane human being would care, if a bunch of mercenaries who were out for their blood, about what genitalia they had . Second. You would complain that women got hurt if there were female mercenaries, that it glorified misogyny. You criticised Lara getting hurt a lot in the last game even though she was inexperienced considering her whole ordeal in the last game. This doublethink pisses me off. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

The only criticism that felt like an actual criticism was the villain/main hero interactions. It's the only point that felt legitimate and that I could agree with.

By far the worst complaint was at the tail end of the review.

"The areas are stunning, but there is so much to collect. Area's devolve into places where you collect gold to further your own gain."

Well gee. In a game called RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER, YOU'D THINK IT WOULD BE ABOUT TREASURE HUNTING AND RAIDING TOMBS!

Seriously, what else did you expect in a game called Rise of the fucking TOMB RAIDER!? To take pictures of the sights and that's it!?

This just shows. These people aren't interested in the actual game. I didn't learn a god damn thing about the game other than a crappy plot synopsis, and lara's feelings.
