STARDRAGONS ARE NOW AN OPEN SPECIES

This is Cloneclone/Percy coming off my step away for a brief and more permanent end. I will keep this simple and sweet, as there is no need to go into over explanations of what and why. The short of it is the admins and mods are unable to keep up with it as we had once done in times past, and it is not something I feel comfortable in allowing to be moderated to any length for the sake of the health and benefit of those who had manned it.
With that being said, I am announcing that the StarDragons be officially considered an Open Species.
There are no moderators, no admins, or regulations.
If you wish to make your own StarDragon, have at it. If you wish to make your own chimera, legendary, or what have you, go for it. If you want to slap four different StarDragons together as a funky hybrid, go for it. If you want to make up traits, I don't care. If you want to make up a super secret 9th StarDragon, have at thee. If you want to make your own batches to sell, or edit to your hearts content, or sell your 25$ StarDragon for 200$, be free to do so.
The only request is you do not claim the StarDragon species as your own.
Beyond that, if you have a question, assume the answer to be as you wish it to be. The StarDragons are an open species to do with as you see fit.

It's been a few months and we're already well into closing things for the MYO/Customer service aspects of the Gem Exchange and we would like to thank everyone that's already started to submit their outstanding MYOs and Patron Bees!
Also since our last address the discord server has been transferred over to community hands and whatever members of the Gem Ex Creativity Crew that remain there do so as fellow members of the community and not as administrative personal and we thank you for allowing them the opportunity to do so.
We would also like to remind you all that at this point in time there is
ONE MONTH left for edit approvals. After April 1st 2022 you will only be able to do minor edits for your Stardragons as covered by this journal: EDIT APPROVAL UPDATE

Edit Approval Update: April 2022
General | Posted 4 years agoStarting on April 1st 2022, we will no longer be doing edit approvals.
What this means for you all:
1: Any designs that have been edited before the date will be grandfathered in.
2: If you wish to edit an already edited design, you must go back to the ORIGINAL design. Do not apply edits to an already edited design.
3: If you have an edited design, you MUST keep a copy of the original unedited version with the design.
........A: In the event you trade/sell/gift an edited design, it is your responsibility to inform the buyer and give them both the original and the edited version.
THE NEW EDIT GUIDELINES: April 1st 2022
The following edits have no restrictions
1: Edits to hairstyle, body types, minor gender presenting traits (ex: horns, robber antenna placement, shooter hands), body mods (piercings, missing limbs, prosthetics) can be done at the owner’s preference at any time regardless of other edits
........A: This does not include edits on already edited designs. If you want to edit a grandfathered design, you must revert them back to the original design and apply the edits based on the new guidelines.
2: Edits to hair color, eye/gem color can be done at the owner’s preference
........A: Eye/Gem color must still follow the species guidelines (aka: any species save for shooters must have matching gem/eye colors)
3: Minor edits to markings/colors for the purpose of ease of drawing can be done at the owner’s preference.
........A: Marking edits can include: adjusting the finger colors, simplifying a marking for ease of drawing, adding/removing patterns on the horns.
........B: Marking edits should not change more than 15% of the stardragon’s design/color.
The following edits now have restrictions
1: Stardragon colors: You can palette swap/adjust your stardragons colors. (ex: changing your purple stardragon into a green version)
However, if you edit your stardragons colors you CANNOT make major trait edits as well. (ex: changing your stardragon to a subtype version. Swapping an uncommon trait for another uncommon trait)
2: Stardragon traits: You can adjust your stardragons' traits (ex: changing your stardragon to a subtype version. Swapping uncommon traits for a different uncommon trait. Swapping major gender traits such as the fisher’s tails.)
However, if you edit your stardragons traits in this way, you CANNOT adjust/swap your stardragon’s colors outside of the non-restricted edits.

September Monthly Meebles

So huh...August happened. I'd like to personally apologize on my end for dropping the news ball last month. Ontop of well, a lot happened but none of it wast GE related cause life just blew up all around. So ultimately I'm sad to report there was no progress on things in August and apologize for the lack of such progress.
That said, as most all of us are still in a hefty life setup this month is going to likely be a bit sparse as well. There are some planned but chances are things may be slow/delayed.
Resale Promo Month
One of the big focuses we want to do is actually attempt getting back into the habit of maintaining a resale journal on FA/DA to help cross-post folks personal SD sales. And ideally working out a system that lets us maintain it going forward so there is more platforms for folks to try to sell and trade designs again.
Guest Artists Signup Soon
In the middle of the month we plan to open for another round of guest artists so if you have been waiting for that opportunity the time is nigh!
FTO Batch
This month will have a first time owner bean batch done by yours truly. The plan is to offer the designs at a reduced price ($50) to folks who don't own any stardragons yet as well as offer a 4 hour window where only FTO's can offer. After the 4 hours the designs will be available to everyone ($50 still for FTO, $80 for non first time owners. 1 design per paypal account every 24 hours.)
Collab Batch
Honestly this is more a 'Executive Dysfunction caused us to never actually put these designs up for sale so lets just make a batch" batch, but there are going to be a few collab designs showing up this month done by various folks in the CC.
Itchy is out there. Somewhere.
Last I saw they were painting a deck being a stimky gremlin.
Thank you for your time and we hope you all have had a safe summer of healing.

July Monthly Meebles
General | Posted 5 years agoHello everybody. it is the start of the month which means I’m going to give you the Monthly Meebles. Or I’m just trying to make sure to post what’s all happening at the start of the month and what to possibly expect. o7
First up! Guest Artists News!
The next guest artist batch by CaelisSong will be going up this month! Similar to Inkmaven’s batch, we’ll be posting a preview announcement before they are set to go up. Sadly due to some life struggles, Kev had to bow out of this round for guest artists, but hopefully we’ll get to see her try again when life is being more kind to her. Regardless, all the Guest Artists deserve a round of applause for their work as well as their patience in regards to dealing with us building a system around them. After Caelis’ batch finishes, we plan to review and adjust any bumps in the system we spotted before opening up for a second round of guest artist applications.
Second up! MYO Kiosk Shoppe(™)
That’s not actually the name, but the goal for July is to finish the setup for smaller MYO sales. The idea is that every so often a journal(or page) will open with an assortment of MYO tokens that people can purchase. I mentioned earlier that there were no plans for any large scale MYO sales. That remains true for the foreseeable future. With how things are set up, we are just not equipped to properly handle large-sale MYO events.
Future MYO sales are going to be smaller because I feel it will be easier on all if we have smaller amounts of SD’s coming in at a time. Ideally the flow of MYO’s will be more manageable across a period of time rather than a large 2+ month glut of them. The amount and rarity scales are gonna be a bit wibbly for the first few times as once again, we’re going to be building this system from scratch. There is also a high chance the openings will be random as we try to work out what makes a good schedule for everyone. So please bear with us. ;w;
Third up! Gatcha Batcha!
I’m not allowed to go into too much detail but a certain Lilypoo may be working on a gacha egg batch of stardragons that may also be launching this month.
Fourth up! PLANT SABATOGE!
I am sad to report that one of Itchy’s radishes was absolute REKT. There’s a few things being worked on that will likely make a mention later this month. Or at the very least in the August Meebles. For now though, I think that covers stuff to expect this month.

Guest Designer Sign-Up
With this announcement, we are launching the application form for the first round of guest designers! We’re still working out the process but the hopeful goal is to work with the folks selected to get the first round of guest designs up and for sale starting in July. Most information is included in the link but if you have any further questions please let us know via the feedback form.
We’re expecting to only pick three folks this go as we test these waters, trying to not go overboard just yet. The applications are going to be open for one week! (June 8th)

Creativity Crew Update
Along with the arrival of guest artists, the Creativity Crew is getting an overhaul. Going forward, Creativity Crew members are considered GE Stardragon designers. This means:
- The ability to design stardragons (any rarity tier) for sale /gift / personal use
- The ability to offer stardragon customs and upgrades (any rarity tier) for sale /gift / personal use
- The ability to create/design/approve new stardragon traits
- Managing the MYO mini-sales journal*

MYO Mini-Sales Journal
As mentioned, we are putting a pause on largescale MYO sales for the foreseeable future. For those who still wish to get MYO tokens, we will be making a dedicated journal page that will handle smaller MYO batches. This will hopefully make a more steady setup for getting and approving MYOs.

Speaking of Creativity Crew members being able to design and sell stardragons now, we are happy to announce that one such fabulous CC bean is putting up their first official CC designer design this weekend! This Stardragon Saturday an incredibly amazing robber is going up for auction~

TOS Updates incoming
This isn’t really a threat to anyone but ourselves because we’re going to be going through and tidying things up. A lot of the ToS is so outdated and really could use some refining and simplifying in parts. Especially as we’re shifting focus to allow guest designers to take the stage. A better guide of do’s/don’ts/whys is always handy.
There is also an incoming guideline to edits/edit requests being worked on, but that may not be available until July.
Discord Titles Nudge
As mentioned, we’re switching the colours on Discord around. We’re also shifting the discord roles in regards to the Creativity Crew members so you may notice their titles shifting a bit.
- CC members who also manage the discord community now have their own section for easy finding.
- Guest Artists will be getting a special role as well so that we can better promote the neat folks doing stuff currently
- We’re removing the difference between waiting line and little burritos. Regardless of if you have no beans or one bean+, you are a starpuff in our hearts and our eyes.
- We’ll probably be offering bribes for unique titles later. We’re weak like that
- The bun will remain the bun regardless of any changes that occur. Fear not.

Patreon Pausing April to July

Longest of stories short, life has been super hard and super rough and has led to super depresso expresso shots for Cuttleskull's coffee every morning. So the Patreon is going on hold in order to allow them time to recuperate.
What does this mean for you? Patrons should not be getting billed in April, May, June, and July.
If Cuttleskulls feels ready to re-open Patreon in August we will be giving a heads up via Discord and Patreon in mid-July. If they do not feel ready to re-open by then, we will ALSO give a heads up in mid-July! So expect a heads up in mid-July no matter what you all!
There's no plans to alter the patreon discord during this time. If you want to escape you will need to gnaw off your own leg from the beartrap that is your patreon roles. If you have questions regarding Patreon related topics, please feel free to ask in the QnA on discord(for patrons with this option) or via the feedback form. Hey everyone! The yearly tradition is upon us, so lets get into it!
What is a Secret Sunmother?
It is a gift exchange between those who sign up, but with a surprise element of you do not know who your secret sunpartner is until they give you their gift and the person you are giving a gift to will not know it is you gifting them until you do your part. It is essentially a fun way to share some holiday goodwill with other members of the community in honor of the Sun Mother, Hylcinth.
Please Note:
This is an event that is open to all talent levels, so experienced artists and fledgling creators alike are welcome to enter. The purpose of this event is to focus on giving and having fun, all we ask of people is that they do their honest best. Do I need to be a member of the group to enter: For this event you do not need to be watching the Gem-Exchange to enter.
Do I need a stardragon to enter: Yes. Since the nature of the gifts are meant to be art or stories or crafts inspired by your stardragon, it would be rather hard to do that if you do not have any.
I am not an artist, may I hire someone else to draw the gift for my person: While we do greatly appreciate the thought, there is just too many complications with outsourcing to a third party. We have made exceptions in the past like in the instances someone finds themselves incapable of being able to submit an entry of their own. But we ask that for those signing up, to go in with the mindset that they are going to be the ones doing the work.
I signed up but then life threw me some lemons…: We realize that everyone is human. That this time of year can get pretty hectic. And that all the best laid plans can go off the wall. If you feel you are getting into a situation where you are going to need an extension or more time, please please please just contact us and let us know. We are more than fine with giving people an extra week or two as long as we know. Versus the deadline showing up and us having to track the person down to ask what happened.
I signed up but then life threw me some MAJOR lemons…: Like above, we realize that life can be really rough. All we ask is that you let us know so we can plan accordingly. If things get to a point where you feel unable to finish your part, we can work something out. We are not going to get mad for life throwing a curveball at Christmas. But it will make things easier for everyone if we can be told as soon as possible.
When is the deadline: We’d love for folks to have their submissions done and completed by January 7th. (NOTE: EXTENSIONS GIVEN in the event needed)

What is a Secret Sunmother?
It is a gift exchange between those who sign up, but with a surprise element of you do not know who your secret sunpartner is until they give you their gift and the person you are giving a gift to will not know it is you gifting them until you do your part. It is essentially a fun way to share some holiday goodwill with other members of the community in honor of the Sun Mother, Hylcinth.

This is an event that is open to all talent levels, so experienced artists and fledgling creators alike are welcome to enter. The purpose of this event is to focus on giving and having fun, all we ask of people is that they do their honest best. We're announcing that RARE and UNCOMMON MYO slot serials are **no longer species locked.**
E.G. If you have a Rare StarCrafter slot, you may now treat it as a Rare Stardragon slot and decide the stardragon species of your MYO when you submit it.
We did this to keep track but with the new system we can now afford to be lenient. Sorry for any inconveniences while we were learning, but we hope this is good news and it'll make everyone's lives a little easier!

No! You may decide the species at the time of submission. Please note that older UC/R MYO slots still are species locked.
Q: I won a MYO but I'm not an artist :( How do I get my MYO drawn?

Q: If I get a rare/uncommon slot, how many rare/uncommon traits am I allowed to put on my MYO?
As many as you want! You won the rare/uncommon slot, feel free to slap as many or as little as you want!

January Event: StarDragon Ships

Deadline: February 1st (No extensions)
Winners will be chosen via raffle! Everyone who enters is placed into the raffle.
Basically this is a fun mini-event where you do something with your StarDragon ships, be they canon or not. Something either you have planned or your characters went off the rails and found themselves with a lover. A drawing of your SDs first date? Or just the two SDs you ship together? A poem your SD has written for another SD-- or a song they've written?
You don't have to draw anything in-depth or write a long novel, just something to express your character's relationships with others.
Prizes:
First prize - 1 month of Discord Nitro. This allows the use of custom emojis outside of servers and uploading of custom/animated emojis. Will be delivered via “invite” link (which is what discord hands you as default).
Second prize - A lil sticker doodle of the winner’s drawn ship by GayClub Example
Other:
-All media allowed! Writing, visual art, crafts, music. A L L.
-Must own a StarDragon to participate.
-When you finish your submission, just link it back to this journal!
-Anyone is free to make their own events. If you're ever interested, feel free to shoot us a note or hit us up on Discord.
