Ref Sheets vs Character Sheets
General | Posted 15 years agoI can't really decide which to do first for my characters. Granted they both get a similar job taken care of, but its the WAY its done that differs. Granted it's not like I have time to do either of them at the moment, but when I do I'll have to decide.
Normally it wouldn't be a problem were it not for the fact that I don't actually have all the details for my characters hammered out yet. I know the basic look and build and color scheme and appearance and stuff, but, long story short, I've been redesigning them over the past few years, and since I've been hard at work in college there hasn't been any real time to just focus on that.
Which brings the dilemma. If I'm going to be working on character details and stuff anyway, wouldn't a reference sheet make more sense to start out with? But then that also looks kinda weird if the first thing I post is a Reference sheet, because then there's like some subliminal inkling given off that I expect free art or some shit like that. Which I don't.
Plus I'm really trying to make a change from doing art just because (not that that's an invalid reason), and more onto having the art I do have some story to it as well. Which would make Character sheets make more sense.
I dunno, I'll probably make ref sheets first, then character sheets, post the character sheets, and then have the ref sheets on file if anyone needs them.
Hurr durr durr.
