So I've been working on my "My little Pony: Friendship is Magic"(-esque) book based RPG. I've decided a couple of things on the project.

1) I'm planning on kickstarting it. I've got some freaking awesome shit pumped into it it so far, and all that's really left is hashing out the exact specific details, locking in a rules system, building 1 or two set "example adventures" or "modules", and play testing.

If I kickstart it, I can attempt to get funding to maybe get it in a binding (plus money would inspire me to work harder on it lol). I have enough that once I slap it into my computer, do some crude art for the presentation, I might be able to get it off the ground.

If I get enough funding via kickstarter, I'd be able to hire an artist(s) to throw me some mlp style art inside the book :3

The best part about it all, is that it's MLP:FIM in feels and style and not enough to Cease and Desist from Hasbro. In other words, 1st Amendment is fun and Hasbro can suck Big Macintosh's apple core.

2) I'm thinking, to save me a lot of time and frustration, to use the open game license D20 system. Letting my RPG be sort of a template to overlay anything practically anything. Modern D20, Pathfinder, DnD 3.5, what have you. Tried and true combat mechanics are already there, so why not utilize them. I will, however, be adding "house rules" from my rpg groups into the rules (such things being like fear and madness saves, "choose high or low" percentile charts, and fun junk like that).

What is My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic(-esque)? Well, it simply means that no named and copyrighted characters from the show are in the game. No trademarked what have yous is in there either. The game is a compilation of themes and tropes that are prevalent through the show and objects in writing that simply can't be owned by any given person. Like Pegasus or Cyclopes(es?). I mean, it's not like Homer is seeking royalties from today's companies lol.

One issue I'm running into is that I'm trying to come up with a clever name for the contents that make up the world. I can't just go around calling one of them "Equstria", There's a couple that I have in mind (One being the "Kingdom of the Cloven Crown").

Another, not really "issue" but still bleh, that I'm going to run into are spells. Oh my god I have so much work to do on spells. I think what I'll do is only put out 3 levels to start. Test the waters, test the interest. If everything is cool, I'll build to 5. If things are fucking AWESOME I'll put out the full 20 character levels.

Anyways, who knows. This might become something totally lagit, available on Amazon and Open game license. If it sells well, might make fun peripherals.

So I'm graduated now.

I'm thinking of making an oc pony for myself. In my mad practicing of terrible art and screeching music, I might need a pony as a rep image. I'm leaning towards a long legged alicorn. Older than crusaders but still a blank flank. The thing I'm hung up on is colors and name.

Still trying to rename my fursona... Might mod the design too. Make it more sharp and modern.

Might be getting mp3 mix tables as a grad gift. So yeah... With those, will start practicing... Might be playing music at a con near you! Also... Need to think of a swanky pony/furry DJ name.

Going to start churning out short writings. Nothing to post, but practice for craft. Might start taking storey requests on my sofurry account... Not sure yet.

I need to purchase a round pegbar for animation.

So today's my birthday.

I've got nothing planned that isn't school related, really...

The date of my birthday fast approaches. Day of 18... I'm not exactly sure what or if I'm going to do anything special for it. School still has me pretty locked down with free time.


Last night, I had a pretty good time. My brony friend and I went to an event in KCMO. There is a Kansas City film fest going on, and in it, is the Brony Documentary: Bronies: the Extremely Unexpected Adult Fans of My Little Pony.

Me and my other brony friend went to the two part event yesterday on Saturday. The first part was a pizza party with show creator Lauren Faust and producers of the documentary. The second part was watching the documentary, Q & A with the producer Michael Brockhoff, and then an after party. All of this at the Alamo Draft House in the Main Street Theater.

Well, Lauren was sick and couldn't make the first part, so instead of canceling, we all got to talk to her via skype and got free copies of the documentary. Here's the interesting part: I had brought my personal copy of my published article on brony fan culture to sign. 1 split decision later, I had ended up writing a short "Get well soon" note and a short "thank you" on an empty space on my article and set the magazine in the pile of swag that was to go to Faust (other people had art and get well soon letters, apparently she had tweeted about being ill, so some people knew ahead of time). Who knows if she'll like it, let alone read it. I do have more copies on the way to me for friends and family from the publishing company. Also, a very nice person who works marketing for the Alamo Drafthouse (who invited me and my friend to go in the first place) told me that I should ask about promoting my article to the publishing company. If I can get some material from them, I can submit it to EQD and maybe get a short news article for bronies to check it out.

The documentary was better than what I was expecting. It has quite a lot of heart, which was unexpected.

I met a handful of bronies, there were quite a few there. I was amused in how much the random sample of bronies resembles the same sized samples of furries. Very entertaining. Plus I loaded up pretty hard on guiness and something called "Irish Coffee Milk Shake". Very delicious.

So yeah, that was my Saturday... now off to play Pathfinder and write a 5pg screen play for class... SEE YA HOMIES!

Ah april, the month I was born on.

Next month I graduate.

With paypal issues resolved (surprisingly automatically after my slew of complaints...hmm) and spring break just around the corner, things are still things.

I'm looking forward to the mail, as I have ordered a few things lately. 1 of which was a cheep-o mascoty/fursuit off of ebay...which turned out to be total shit... buuuuut on the bright side, I now have a subject for my sewing experimentation. I plan on adding a sheath and an sph to it to see how well I can manage it. If all goes well, I might start attaching sheaths to boxers and sph's to plushes and setting them up to sell. Even cooler, if THAT goes well, I'll design a fuzzyroo logo and make it a brand. Fuzzyroo yiff sheaths and lovable sph's! hehe. Who knows, it could turn out fairly awesome.

My after effects class chugs along. I've made a few short (30-sec) animations in lines with the assignment requirements... they aren't that great, but oh well, I'm learning a lot for the future. Might add some of these things to my videos in the near future, as well as maybe start pumping out either hand drawn cell animations or 3D animations. Who knows.

Miniatures! I'm in a new RPG and, yes... I needed a miniature. I'm going all out on it as I'm am super excited for this new character. so I'll post pictures of that when I'm done with it. I'm hoping it turns out as awesome as I have it in my head...

So my PayPal account just imploded. I start using eBay to buy some cheep stuffs. My PayPal account goes "woah! Verify your info dude" and is now locked down. There are 5 steps to verify. I can only do 4/5. The last one is supposed to look over a transaction and ok or deny it... Well I get an error "invalid transaction ID" making the verify process impossible. No help on forums, no help from PayPal. The account is just scrap now. Awesome.

Long day at work. I woke up at 8am, got to work at 9... Was having a great day. Taught my manager how to make QR codes on his computer using google. Aaaaand then it turns out I wasn't supposed to be there till 10:30... but you know what? I grabbed a HUGE f'n coffee and downed it. Yay coffee.

I planned on being more productive when I got home today. Was going to write a ton, reply to emails, finish up 2 game reviews for www.scifi4me.com and start on my homework. I only was able to do 1 game review... or rather proof and finish it and add pictures and crap... So yeah... Halo 4 review will be coming out next.

I should get some sleep now, I have a lot to do. Oh! And minor news... my local liquor store sells mead... who would have guessed?

So yeah. Props if anyone's heard that song....

But anyways, yeah, today was a pretty huge crap sandwich. It started last night. I went to bed at 9am, and couldn't sleep till midnight. Had to wake up early for work.

On the way to work, i'm earlier than usual, yet somehow the "good" parking spaces are already taken... wtf. Plus the buss that goes from the "not so good" parking lot to campus was already pulling away. Awesome.

Get to work.... missing on employee and had to do cold prep... not bad, that's common. Except that the tomato slicer I was needing to use was dirty as fuck with gross encrusted crap on the non-removable blades. Had to spend like 15min trying to clean it, spilled water everywhere (cause of how fucking retarded awkward this thing is).

I then go to get the sauces for the front counters. The ...mentally unstable creepy girl janitor was emptying trashcans in the back where the fridge was. I pull the sauces from the fridge, shut the door, SHE'S THERE and sneezes all over my hands and the bottles. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUCK! I wanted to just throw the bottles at her. I had to empty them out, set them to dish room. I re-wash my hands, find new bottles. The new bottles had very narrow lid openings, not the wide openings that we usually have. I then had to refill the sauce bottles. Giant sauce canister does not like tiny lid oppenings. So I spill honey mustard sauce all the fuck over the place, awesome.

So hear I think to my self "Oh, well, I'm clever" and come up with a solution. If I cut the paper seal on the sauce bottles, I can forge as spicket for it and be able to poor in a narrow stream. 1st canister, modded, pours, fills great, no spill. 2nd canister, I cut myself. Not bad, just a nick. For some reason, the person who sharpened it, decided to sharpen everything metal on it. So the edge wraps down and around to the handle... very inconvenient for holding. So yeah, cut my hand.

A bandage later and I finish filling the sauce bottles. I go around the counter (which is a long walk, since there is no direct access to the back and we have to walk all the way through the rest of the university food court to get out) to put them into the condiments counter...SAUCE IS ALREADY THERE...FUCK ME! So yeah, totally pointless.

The place opens and the day is slow....the people that do come up keep ordering the weird things we make once in a blue moon...all day today. What that means is that we had none of it ready. We will have french fries... they want fried mushrooms. We have hamburger, they want black been veggie burger...wtf. Then in the middle of lunch rush, the place becomes super packed with waves upon waves of little kids. Like 9-10 year olds all wanting burgers....Not a bad thing, really, just very busy. It wains a little and the flow of people start to die down. I'm held up from it 10min late, making me late to class on the opposite side of campus...

I stop work, clock out, run to the front of the counter to see if I could maybe get my "I worked today so give me my free lunch".... nope, although the service portion of the food court was pretty much empty at this point, the cashiers were having some issues so lines were out to dog humping nowhere... So I got to sacrifice my free lunch to make it to class due to how closely I get scheduled. No times for nothing... awesome.

Class one was ok... a lot of information I won't be able to make on a test... since it was a bunch of names of artists past and present.

Class 2 sucked... the same dumb ass girl kept asking her dumb ass questions and the instructor has to stop teaching relevant shit to try and tell her what an "interger" is again... but it's ok, I can just surf the web and ebay for 2 hours till we get back on topic.

Now I'm home, and in my chair... trying to relax before bed in 3 hours to do it all again... Fuck'n lame.

So these past couple of weeks I've been hitting that time of the year where I go through my annual depressive state. It's never really that "big" of a deal, I just feel down and sluggish and the dishes in my sink pile up. I still go to work, still hang out with friends, still go to classes, as well as my radio show. I just feel, bleh. Kind of like when some one gets the flu before any other symptoms. Just a general generic "down" feeling. Oh well. I think I'm on the upswing of it now, so next week or the week after I should be back to my bouncy "OMGWTF"'ness business as usual... and so much business I have.

The business at hand: ANIMATION CLASS! Whoo... I've been to 2 classes so far... I'm not sure if anything amazing is going to come from it, but I'll learn some things in Adobe Aftereffects, which is always handy. Might spruce up my "other" videos with it in the future.

I obtained a sewing machine and fired it up. Practiced a little bit with it...already jammed it once lol. But yeah, the model I have has a lot of extra sparkles on it, like an automatic needle threader, auto threading bobbins, and such. Very fancy. Now I just gotta figure out how to sew by hand and then I can do stuff like make sheaths and plush SPH's.

I've been trying out "cooling" lubes. I like the sensation much more than warming. Never been a fan of warming. But cooling, I'm quite liking. I wish it had a bit more sensation, but I think that's an issue with what chemical is used to create it. But yes, fun stuffs.

Miss a bunch of friends. Living in Kansas blows.

What else what else... secret fursuit is still secret, so can't wait to get it. Graduation is pretty much super official in May. Hmms.... I guess I just do what I do as I do like I do.

So yeah, sleep.... apparently hates me this month. I just can't do its! Well, I can get about 3-4 hours of sleep at a time... which leaves me exhausted and is drastically cutting into productivity.

School starts on tuesday so I'm kind of screwed in the sleep department. I really hope I normalize before then.

There are a few reasons why I'm not getting much sleep. Stress, My mattress sucks and is anything but comfortable, I'm more of a night-time person, and a mystery dog that does nothing bout howl and bark at all hours of the day.

I'm stressed out because of my last semester of school starting up and my soon to be sudden looming debt of student loans that simply can't be paid with my underemployment. Also, I need to think of something to do for graduation. I was thinking of wearing a GIANT graduation hat...though not sure where I'd find one.

My mattress sucks. It's a hand-me-down from my ex-mate/roommmate from years and years ago. It's a full semi-firm and it is like sleeping on gravel. I've been looking at other mattresses in the past week, but nothing has been acceptable. All the affordable ones are just as bad as the one I currently have, and the one that I tried out that was perfect was about $1,000. I'm not spending a thousand on a mattress, that's insane (though looks like that sort of price is starting to become more common, yay... douche bags).

And then there's this freaking mystery dog. It's 1 thing to be living in a house by your self with disconnected neighbors and get an untrained pet to train. It's another thing to just randomly buy a dog and let it bark and howl out 2:45 am. Well it's not just 2, it's all day, everyday. It's also sporadic. So it stops for a short while before starting back up again. Which sucks because locating exactly "who's" dog it is is becoming difficult. I've narrowed it down to the people either right next to me on my floor or one of the douche bags above me. 1 out of 5 apartments has a douche bag steve's hat for a dog, and it's driving me insane. If you live closely quartered to your neighbors and your apartment complex has the courtesy of letting you have a pet, please have the courtesy in return to train your pet. It's not hard, it takes a little bit of time and some patients, sure, but it's been over a month now, day in, day out, howling and barking... I'm calling in a noise complaint when the offices open back up tuesday.

On another note.... I think I might take up sewing with a machine. I think one of my projects with be sheath laden underwear. If I can figure it out and do a few pairs well, I might just start selling those to furs. I have specific design(s) in mind that I can't be the only one to want for fursuits or even for just general yiffing. There's some issues with the currently "marketable" ones that are out right now, so I'm thinking, "hey, why not give doing it myself a shot". I wasn't too bad sewing in highschool, but I've more than forgotten "how" to sew. One of my problems with sewing is I can't ever remember how to "end" a thread. But there's plenty of lessons on google and youtube, so after a little bit of time and a basic starting sewing machine, I'm sure I could make "something". Also, as a side note, I might mod plushes with custom shaped SPH's if all goes well :3 maybe even offer to assist furries with putting those in for a small fee. Who knows. That's all in the future...eyes eyes eyes...FUTURE! eyes eyes eyes... color color everywhere....

all in all, you can either go to www.furfling.com and pay $15 every 3 months to do what www.pounced.org does for FREE.

Get this bullshit:

Furfling promotes that you can make a profile and upload pictures for free. You can also send messages for free.

Profile, true. Pictures...only 2 for free. Messages....you can send, but not read. You can not turn notifications for them off either. So you make a profile, then get bogged down with message notifications. There's "options" to turn them off or set them to once per day, but alas they do not work.

All in all, they charge money for a service that is already free.

LAST DAY OF FINALS! And I'm running on about... 13 hours of sleep total since monday?

I've got 2 tests today. One coming up here in 7:30am on History of Japanese Samurai and the last one of the semester at 1:30pm German Myths and Monsters.

For that 2nd class, there were 2 papers due that we had only about 2 weeks to write... so yeah, not enough time to study for any of my other subjects, let alone that class's final. Hurray!

So yeah, I'm pretty run ragged with some huge black circles under my eyes and stuffs.

OH! the professional blog that picked up my game reviews is doing a 12 days of sci-fi x-mass deal, featuring various sci-fi holiday stuffs. Mine is a short game review of one of my favored holiday games... no spoilers.

Also, something cool. The site is getting a good number of hits, making it more hard-core. What this means is that the more hits we get, the bigger our chances of being considered a full out "media" source. And the closer we get to that, the bigger chances that we can go to conventions as press....If it pans out...E3, BLIZZCON, San Siego Comic Con, PAX-EAST-WEST-UP-DOWN-B-A-START! ... only bad thing is that I guess Kage would have to lead me on the "Nothing To See Here" press tour of Antorocon XD

The site's pretty cool too. We are looking to get away from wordpress and their fuck-nuts crazy poor handling of their code and to our own system in the near future. Just gotta get funding for it, really... Other people had the good idea of T-shirts, and I'm pretty good at coming up with 1-shot nerd slogans.

Stupid P.O.S. Verizon!

So, I'm on this family plan with verizon, right? Well long story short, the plan got upgraded from low grade out dated droid phones to new spangly iPhones.

Here's the deal, it's a programming nightmare.

All my awesome droid apps, gone. No con book, no pony countdown, no sad trombone widget.

No useful app store, let alone easy to navigate. Plus it's practically empty comparatively to google play.

No sorting of lists

No spelling dictionary that "learns" or is updatable

No way to calibrate touch screen, so it's simply frustrating to use in general.

No customization in settings, in apps, nothing.

NO WAY TO VIEW CONTACT LIST! That's right. It ate my facebook friends list, uploaded it's bowels to the icloud and forgot which contacts were just from facebook! Even worse, some of those are uploaded to the contact list multiple times for people that my or may not have phone details. There is no sorting, no custom grouping, absolutely nothing to distinguish a real phone number contact from a fake facebook contact. And even when dialing a number, it doesn't segregate contacts with phone numbers and ones without. You practically have to know exactly who you are calling at all times. it's not a smartphone, it's a fucking retarded phone.

It really is sad that cellphones from the early 90's function better as phones than your super high tech "smartphone".

So my address book has about 1300 contacts in it, and only about 200~ have actual phone numbers...

There's no sorting. No displaying phone numbers. It's the new game from Apple, fucking go shoot yourself! And right in the face!

So, as one last desperate plea and attempt at normalcy, please do something for me. If you have my phone number, shoot me a text with your name (and if possible where/when we met or something)

That way I can write down who I still have contact information for and try to finagle something together.

Buy an iPhone, the only smartphone on the market where you have to WRITE DOWN YOUR OWN CONTACTS. Like on a piece of actual physical paper and carry it around with you if you want to call ANYBODY. The iPhone, welcome back to the 1970's!

My halloween costume has mostly come in and been super amazing awesome... except for the very last peace. The icing on the cake.

I was planning on getting one of the new "Mega Stomp Panic" packs from thinkgeek. It's an audio device where you walk and stomp around and get sound effects. I ordered, I received.... it doesn't work right out the box. GAH. So yeah, the very last piece is of course defective. The costume is still visually stunning, and I'll post more about it when I get ready for Halloween fri-sat but yeah.... grrr!

Turns out my video game critique has gained the attention of a local (Kansas City) media producer who produces things like "Channel 7 (or some single digit number)" in Kansas City/Johnson County region as well as having several websites of media entertainment content. So I've been called upon to do video game critiques and reviews. Who would have thought?

I'm thinking of keeping both blogs and under the same name....well, almost. Someone on word press had already the nick name of "N00basaurus" so I ended up with "N00basaurus0"
