"Everything will be okay"
Posted 9 years agoI've gotten so tired of those words; they never really are. No matter what i do I end up doing poor at it; even when I'm doing my best. Working full time to ensure my apartment rent but that only gives me two days every week to myself. So naturally I'd wanna set those as my art days. But no; i end up playing archeage, league of legends, and/or wow; watch videos almost inn repeat, ave only when I'm reminded of my commissions duo I try to do something. But even that feels like a slog; my art doesn't feel like it's improving, I feel I have no time to actually practice/improve; and just every corner of my life just feels more and more isolating. I just...I dunno. There's just nothing for me really. Pokemon is losing its charm, prolly cause my ex was a major pokemon fan too, I dunno. Just nothing seems to click with me anymore; like some gear with its teeth worn away.

Sadly the car still hasn't been fixed, though we just put on it's spare; we will get it fixed once I get paid next; though I thank everyone who noted me for commissions. I have everyone written down on a list and I will work on them once I get time to sit down and work; possibly stream it.
If you guys wanna retract your commission idea, or ask of its status or want to schedule a stream (private or not) feel free to ask.
Again, I apologize for being flaky and not on top of things, a lot of stuff has been going on. Thank you all for being so patient too; I know I'm not the best at communication, but I'm trying my best to keep everything in the open.
On top of this, I might retract my YCH pic with Lily; I don't think I can personally ask for so much and to have it done before Valentines day. I might draw a follow up reactionary comic after taking it down. I dunno if anyone would want that.

Posted 9 years agoSo...my car blew a tire today...and the closest bus takes an hour to get me to work (7 minutes by car unimpeded) and it's now running on it's spare.
Well, I guess this is gonna be thing, as my car was the only mode of transport for both me and my brother; and he needs it during his night shifts.
Admittedly, things will start to balance out once his next paycheck comes through, but that's not for another 2 weeks at least...
Whelp, I could either offer my next YCH early, (A valentine themed one btw) try and offer more sketch streams, or Remind people that I'm always open for commissions. (I finally placed my prices on my profile, if anyone is wondering) I also came to realize I work better streaming, so that might become a thing later on.

Still, I wanna ask a question or two of you guys:
1) Why did you guys decide to watch me?
2) What/who do you guys wanna see more of?
3) Do you guys think my prices or business model needs tweeking/rework? If so, what should be changed?

Posted 10 years agoJust sending everyone a journal notification that I plan to stream tomorrow (Dec 1) and draw up an upcoming ych or two, some commissions, and will be taking sketch commissions, if anyone us interested~ I'll try to have the stream and etc up early (though I'm on the Pacific coast do it'd be like the afternoon for everyone else) and try my best to get as much done as I can.

Contemplation
Posted 10 years agoSo I know that I do better progress when I'm streaming; though I've only publicly streamed that one time a while ago. Even more annoying is that my job us taking more out of me that an I can stand, psychologically and physically, and it leaves me both drained, stressed and with an income that can just barely cover rent, let alone all the other bills. I constantly at odd with myself and having to fight my own thoughts, leaving me a constant turmoil of just sitting at a chair.
I see all these Ganges, whether I have them or want them, and part of me knows that I'd only play then a little, an hour to a day max, before losing all interest in playing it again. Maybe it's cause part of me wants someone to play them with; like splatoon, Pokemon, WildStar, monster hunter and the like. Maybe I see them more as set rewards to play once I do this or that, like sly 4 or megaman x or the metroid trilogy, but mentally think I haven't done anything to merit playing it.
Must of the time I have a hard time remembering what genuinely felt fun for a long stretch of time in a pay session.
I dunno, I'm just rambling right now; no real need to pay attention to that part.
Another thing, I'm thinking of another ych piece, but I dunno when I should set it up...

Posted 10 years agoI'm going to be venting a lot of my current issues that are affecting me into a spiraling depression (because it hurts that I can't get it out through other means)
Art is slowly being worked on so don't worry; I'm just getting stuff off my chest, if at least for a bit.
TBH I hate having to say/hear this every month whenever rent and bill time comes around; my brother and I always hafta cut so much out of ourselves just to make ends meet, and yet we're still always behind. Like I know for a fact I will probably not be able to pay all the bills this month without suffering paying next month's rent. My one credit card is nothing short of a black hole; I can't afford to pay it off (even the monthly amount) because all my money has to go elsewhere of more importance, as it continues to build up more and more. Rent alone takes easily 80% of what I make from work, then comes car insurance, storage unit, PUD, internet, phone, and finally food for myself and my brother; something always get cut from one months earning for hopefully the next month.
My brother can't really get an entry level job because of his injured back/spine preventing him from from manual tasks, (90% all min wage jobs) so he needs to get a desk job. However, he doesn't have his own mode of transportation, so he can't reliably get to those jobs he was offered (Plus the bus service were slashed recently so getting there by bus meant about 6 hours to and back) On top of this, he's apparently not injured enough to get disability; mind you his back injury was from a hit and run car incident about half a year ago and he's still unable to get benefits. The last job he had was contract and they ended it like 2 months ago, but we "made it work".
Work is taking its toll on me too. My feet are in almost constant pain, no matter the length of my shift. Be it 4 hours or 8 with an hour lunch, my feet ache something fierce and it leaves me exhausted whenever I get home. My back too is getting strained and worn down; I sleep on a damaged cough I got from helping a friend move a few months back, and my brother needs to bed to deal with his own back problems. Also because my schedule isn't all that constant per week, I always end up in some days where I hafta go straight to bed just to get 6 hours before another 8 hour shift. NO COFFEE is involved with this. And because of all the work stress, I have almost no drive to draw, even something something easy, or for myself; let alone commissions. And when I get a day off, I generally find myself either too drained from work or money related stress that even holding my tablet pen feels like a brick. And once I get my program and tablet working, I get these voices in my head constantly nagging at me that I should be looking for like a second job or an even better job than what I got; but I know it won't really work out. A second job would just eat what little free time I have left and my apartment will become even more trashy; and a better job calls for a specific degree and/or experience in that field in order to get it, which I don't have. I won't even have the possible notion of going back to school and get a degree because of my lack of funds.
Basically everything is a giant unending cycle of misery and apathy, plus an eventual time bomb of stress induced rage and resentment. I have no energy to do anything, not enjoy any aspect of anything. Even when I do get a laugh or some form of enjoyment, it'll only last me at max a minute before I'm back to my drained reality/existence. I have so little drive to do anything, that all I'm left with is a broken chair, an okay PC, a disheveled couch for a bed and a min of $3-5 to spend on lunches during work.
Vacation? what's that? Needed upgrades to my phone/car/anything? can't afford. Grocery shopping day? Rare; mostly not. All I end up doing is sit here and do nothing for hours on end before I hafta get some semblance of dinner made.
So yeah, if you guys are ever pondering where I am, or haven't posted anything of late, I'm either busy at work, or in a depressive nothingness that nothing gets done; maybe a chat or two on skype but that's mostly it.

Sorry for not updating sooner; I tried many attempts sooner, but ended up scraping them and just go to bed or somethin'.
Earlier this month, I got in a car accident. My car didn't get into a lot of trouble, but I had yet been able to afford insurance, so now a lot of stuff is gonna be juggling itself. Also, my manager makes me feel she has a deep desire to fire me, but doesn't. (she ends up nitpicking a whole lot and trying to make a big deal out of it)
It really hurts having to choose a paycheck over pursuing the things I like to do. Work is taking almost too much from me...
I'm slowly plugging away at commissions and all that; art block and depression are painful combos. And I apologize for not really posting stuff as of late; I guess I could start posting something, I guess.
Another issue I'm having is my phone and 3DS are showing signs of wear, especially; like my phone is like way out of date (lets not get into it) and my 3DS's R trigger is utterly dead. (to put in context, I play Monster hunter 4U) So yeah...
Question: Should I go and start labeling (in the titles) whether or not the stuff I post is a commission or my own art? (like "commission", "coloring", "my art") Or should I just leave it as is?
Also I know I don't have a whole lot to really offer, but I really wanna make a Patreon or something, I dunno. Then again, I wanna improve my art and etc to sometime soon to work on making a web comic, but that's still quite a ways off I feel.

Posted 10 years agoIt seems all my bills are now all caught up, and work isn't being too big of a problem lately; I can take a breather now and sit down and work on my commissions more; hopefully I can get through my commissions faster than I usually do. Apologies to those who've been waiting on me to get them finished/worked on sooner; staying afloat sometimes means I end up running on 5 hours of sleep and being at work almost 10 hours, making dinner and then passing out without even touching my PC...

Posted 11 years agoThanks for the support guys~ I was able to get the internet back up and running. However a day after I got the internet reopened, the power went out (which took less time to get back as the internet) and then my place flooded, namely the bathroom and closet. It didn't affect too much, but it had somehow shorted out my tablet from all the water in the air at my place (it also bent some cards, but that wasn't as bad as the tablet) SO I had to get another one :/ Anyway, other than that, things are finally starting to stabilize, and I can resume work on my art and all that jazz.
Seriously all that happened in a span of one month, and work kept me from seeing my family, as well as new years celebrating; oh well, paycheck.
Anyway, How've all you guys been since I was gone? Nothing too major I hope.

Posted 11 years agoSo the vast majority of my time has been devoted to work to be able to pay rent and stay a little afloat. However, my paychecks haven't been enough for me to cover for my internet, and my provider decided to lock my access until I can pay them what I owe. (If you guys haven't already figured, I'm worrying this journal on my phone)
I'd want to ask for donations (where I would pay contributers back with free commissions/stream sketches) but I dunno if that would actually help. I could also lower my prices, but I dunno how far that would get me. And making a patron wouldn't work put in the slightest.
I'm still working on commissions, but I feel super bad about my rather slow turn around time; it's very unprofessional, and for that I apologize.

Posted 11 years agoHey guys~ Very sorry for being so silent and not really getting the commissions done faster; work has been eating up a LOT of my time and etc. Also, I have been contemplating and decided to also create a Pokemon breeding service (the game) for people that wish to get into the competitive scene on top of my art commission services. My reason for this is for me to have something to do while I'm on break at work (on break) while I'm unable to work on art. If anyone's interested in this, let me know~

In fact I finally secured a part time job to help out with my own bills and rent and whatnot; but I doubt it's going to impede on my commission work. Other than getting used to my new job, there's really not much else going on with myself.

Btw, I forgot to say a thing about my commission business method. I work on commissions two at a time, so as I don't over stress myself worrying about them; also I ask for payment after I'm finished.

There hasn't been much going on with me lately; though my motivation keeps waning in and out.

So I've been gradually been trying to work up my nerves to livestream more often; as I came to the conclusion that if there are actually people watching me, I'll less inclined to put it off.
Also, my living arrangements have stabilized, and I heard from my brother that his roommates are driving him up the wall. So yeah, things are looking up. Next up will be to find a job to maintain living here...and trying to do commissions for a living seems highly impractical for myself.
Also, slightly random question: based on my art and my current skills, would anyone want to commission me? And if so, what price do you think a commission from me is worth?

Posted 12 years agoSo my birthdays come and gone (April 28) and I'm now living in a motel, while I search around for an apartment to move into. Yeah, stress is piled high as I need to sort everything out, financially, mentally, and some other thing. My brother up and moved away with his friends, essentially leaving me high and dry. Sadly, the motel doesn't have wifi, but my phone had unlimited internet,.so there's that. Because of my situation, art is at a stand still, but I'm still going to try and draw traditionally until I get a new place.
Based on my situation, I'd normally say my commission slots are closed, but I am on FA now on my phone, so I think I'll leave them open, though I can only do sketches and line art for a while. And I think I'll only take five commissioners at a time.
All your ideas are welcome.

Posted 12 years agoOkay, so most of you don't know, on 3/18, my mother passed away. Yeah, I'm still getting over it, but I now need to deal with a lot of things that I kinda wasn't prepared for; sorting mom's lines of credit, life insurance, and where things will need to go. My brother hasn't been helping as he's trying to avoid most of the situation. So, after we get things more sorted, We have no choice but to move out of the apartment we're at; the rates here are too much for us.
Commissions are open if anyone wants something. And I'll be trying to do more livestreams and at more consistent times.
In random news, I found out a very major issue with me; I have a severe case of social phobia (the fear of being judged)

Posted 12 years agoAlright, so my mom's now resting at home and having nurses occasionally come here to check up on her. So right now, things aren't that bad at the moment.

I'm also going to be doing livestreams soon; hopefully starting tomorrow, so keep an eye out.
By the way, I tend to listen to songs on repeat; so if that might annoys some people, let me know and I'll try to make playlists or something.
I will often leave the computer for a minute or three to take care of my mother from time to time.
What I would like to do is make a certain amount per week, and if I make it, I'll give two people at random in the stream a free sketch, which they can redeem for later.
Anyway, I guess that's everything for now. Until my next update.

Things have gotten so horrible so quickly...
Posted 12 years agoI try hard not to talk about what goes on in my real life; it's kinda hard to explain why.
So a couple weeks ago, me and my brother had to admit our mom into the hospital due to a high fever that wouldn't go down. Bare in mind, my mom has cancer. They got her fever fixed up quick, but another problem rose up; they found a "thing" next to her intestines, pressing on it, that the doctors couldn't figure out. They did a blood transfusions and a few other things, but I don't know how that went.
Now, I heard that the doctors are starting to think about a hospice.
I'm sorry, I'm a little numb right now. The thought of a hospice is like the final statement of "Your mother is going to die, very soon." I don't know if I'm handling this well atm, and leaving myself alone to my thoughts only exacerbates it more...
I currently have little to work on, and my lung infection is keeping me from doing a stream for you guys.
Anyway, I'll be around, just more quiet than normal...
If anyone wants commissions, send me a note or something.
