New year new limits.

No surprise it's now in effect. I didn't have time this holiday season but the moment I have a spare.... er.... moment, I'll be drawing up a new comprehensive guide as to what i will/wont draw.
For now text will simply have to do.
NUDES AND FETISHI ARE STILL OK.
What i won't be drawing anymore are:
nipples, bulges, lower lady bits, male members.

In addition to this I am cracking down on complicated machinery/complicated uniforms/hardware in general.
I've yet to determine how this is going to work. I don't want to outright say no if people really want it from me, but I also hate drawing inorganic shapes or following a very detailed reference verbatim. It's very limiting to my abilities to make something like that "mesh" with the more organic forms.
I hope to make my comprehensive guide before or immediately after FC so stay tuned.

Another Day off
Posted 12 years agoI'll be taking New years eve off, since I'll be spending it with the folks at thier place. While not a bighugedeal I'm kinda happy I have holiday excuses to get some rest outside of my scheduled days off. I'll be streaming tonight, normal time and place, and will return new years day.
Some minor comic ret-con things for the overlord comic.
Posted 12 years agoIn the process of writing the story there are a few established things I wanted to change. And seeing as its still a rough draft and its mine I totally can :p
Most importantly is that "Doodle" is going to be spun as her nickname. It was brought to my attention she was edging toward "annoying animal sidekick" and hard to take seriously with a name like Doodle. Her official name will be "Rain" which follows with Darnathi Theology about water.
Secondly is Hector's age. Originally I had arbitrarily aged him to about 400 years. Unfortunately this bothered me on many fronts I was trying and failing to fit him into actual world history. He just doesnt fit in no matter how old he is. However I do like the idea that he's been around for that long. The official backstory is that he came from another world that was full of magic. When is wife died he begged Fen to take him to a world with no magic or very little, ergo he's on earth he's also now aging out at around 1000 years old give or take a handful of decades.
Silver was originally pegged to be in his early 30s, (in darnthi years seeing as he's an alien) while never really established he ended up acting quite a bit younger. I waffled on this for awhile but he's essentially the equivalent of 25 years of maturity.
The Darnathi age 1 year for every 10 earth years, even having mostly human biology. which makes Darius 400 ish earth-years old and Silver 250.
Hope that clears things up c:

I'm sorry for any inconvienence this causes but honestly after the month I've had I think I deserve a semi-week off. "normal" streaming will resume saturday but i'll still be around here and there.

Posted 12 years agoI will no longer be doing adult-oriented/themed artwork.
This probably comes as no surprise to many of you I simply am not that kind of artist, people rarely come to me for it. When they do the upcharge is enough of a deterrent. This is my official stance at the beginning of the new year but in saying this I want to make a few things abundantly clear:
1. I have NOTHING against artists who do, indeed, draw porn and adult oriented artwork. I watch Jay naylor for goodness sake.
2. I'm not good at drawing it, really, i'm not. I never liked it when I drew it on a regular basis and was never happy with it when It was an option.
3. I'm in a position where children, more and more, may view my gallery, children i *know* in real life face to face interactions. I really want to avoid the awkward conversations with thier parents.
4. This isn't an attack on people who commission adult artwork. You honestly deserve someone whose actually good at it to do it for you and whose alot cheaper than me to boot. There's plenty out there, go to them for it, come to me for cute things that will give you diabetes instead c:
I love and respect all of my awesome watchers and I doubt anyone is going to honestly pitch a fit about this because I simply haven't had anyone come to me for it in a long time.
I personally am counting down the days when I can put the "clean artist" group on my profile.

Unrelenting issues
Posted 12 years agoAs may of you are aware, I was in an accident a week ago where I was rear ended and had to go to the hospital to be assessed with whiplash.
For this entire week I've been without a car.
Unfortunately for Whitewater rapids (car's name, i name them....) the bodyshop estimate came back to a fun total of over 6K in damages. Now granted, the insurance need only be adjusted to match this estimate and I won't have to (or shouldn't have to) pay anything out of pocket..
The problem being that my car is only worth a little more than that at this point and this is a huge black stain on it's carfax report should i ever attempt to sell it.
The Car may be declared totaled which will leave me scrambling to purchase another car. Which I really can't afford right now.
I'm basically relying on my mother right now for transportation but at the same time I loathe that i'm all but stranded in my apartment.
Soo yeah that's where I'm at right now, between severe back pain, headaches, family and pet stress these last couple weeks, I'm "out of spoons"
I'm not asking for handouts or charity but I may try to do some kind of event stream should i have to start looking at used cars. weeee.

Posted 12 years agoSo stream cancelled tonight I was rearended again and had to to to the hospital to get checked out, im sore and staying at the parent's place tonight in case anything crops up just to be on the safe side. Regularly sceduled art streams shall resume tomorrow.

I made a promise that if people donated that extra comics would go up that day. As it happened Archeus donated late last night and I didn't have any comics lettered at the time (because im a lazy butt) I had just finished lettering the days comic and the donated ones when i got another donation from Ipoke.
So true to my word, they all went up today. I only have ONE left in my reserves before I need to draw more pages but I am willing to do so.

Posted 12 years agoSo it took a few days but I managed to pare down my list to nothing again. I work fast thankfully. But in the spirit of keeping up and ontop of things I'm keeping a working list open so it's easier for people who want to get in "line" for a commisison to do so.
When you get in line I'll give you an estimate of what day I'll be able to work on your stuff and around what time. Currently I have 1 more opening for this evening, possibly 2 depending on what people want. I've estimated I can get done around 3 normal full color pieces a night plus an inking or a few sketches. SO here's my queue so far:

A note on payment: i take paypal, Money order and Western union. Money coming by money order or Western union must be received safely by me before i will start on your piece. For paypal transactions, money should be preferably tendered the estimated date of the COMPLETION of the piece. (which is usually the start date of the piece but there have been exceptions to this)
Also because it apparently came up in conversation. I prefer not to engage in buisness transactions with minors. MY TOS is a contract you agree to, if you're a minor I can't hold you to any of it nor can paypal or any other transactionary exchange should something go wrong. For that reason please be 18 years or older before entering into a commisison with me OR be sure whomever is buying it for you is of legal age. (and this doesn't in anyway include pronographic imagry, which i don't do much of anymore anyway)

Posted 12 years agoI'm really starting to feel like im coming into my own with my commisison business. I know ive been supporting myself on it going on 2 years now (yay me!) But things are starting to really Gel. I'm getting tons of new clientelle, My livestream community is steadily growing and becoming its own entitity. I have friends I love, people I can count and depend on and wonderful people coming to watch me work every night.
Thank you all so much. I honestly couldn't have gotten here without the help of my good friend genesisw (seriously check her out, she's amazing and her art is cute as heck)
She gave me a lot of advice and support and overall has been an amazing and very positively influential friend. I wouln't be where I am today without her help. She helped me in more ways than I can count.
So again, I want to thank you all for another year of being able to work and make a living doing what i love to do.

Posted 12 years agoSo uh, business has been slow for the last month ish but now things have really started picking up, Like... really REALLY started picking up. Which is great really because I usually worry about the holidays. In order to continue to produce art in a timely manner I'm going to start taking a queue and be a bit better about sceduling. A note, all art will be produced via Livestream still. But now due to demand (especially for hi-detail peices) I'm going to have to make sure I can get everyone done and get a little more organized.

On Candy and candy making
Posted 12 years agoSo now that you guys have seen my candy, several of you have wanted it. Legally speaking I can't sell it (yet) without making sure I go through FDA regulations etc and so forth. I will assure you that its all cooked in clean pans and the only thing that goes into it is sugar, corn syrup, water, food coloring and flavorings. All of which I will make available to the public.
I have UNFORTUNATELY not yet been able to make sugar-free candy. Isomalt /malitol is expensive and I can't sell candy made with it at my current price point. Which is really unfair to diabetics, im sorry. (for those of you with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, if you REAALY REALLY want me to make you candy please find me alternatives that you know you can eat, or be prepared to pay a little extra for your candy when this stuff is approved.
In saying that making candy is no secret you can find dozens of recipies online. all pretty much the same.
I have made it so often now I've memorized it.
2 cups dominoes white granulated sugar
2/3 cups of karo corn syrup
3/4 cup of water
1-2 drops of Americolor food coloring
1 FL dram of flavoring.

Right now im in a legal grey area, so I'll be limiting distribution only Conventions, and friends and family i can trust untill I decide if I want this to be a viable side-business. And if not and you really REALLY REALLY want candy, I've just given you everything you need to make it yourself. I have UNFORTUNATELY not yet been able to make sugar-free candy. Isomalt /malitol is expensive and I can't sell candy made with it at my current price point. Which is really unfair to diabetics, im sorry. (for those of you with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, if you REAALY REALLY want me to make you candy please find me alternatives that you know you can eat, or be prepared to pay a little extra for your candy when this stuff is approved.
In saying that making candy is no secret you can find dozens of recipies online. all pretty much the same.
I have made it so often now I've memorized it.
2 cups dominoes white granulated sugar
2/3 cups of karo corn syrup
3/4 cup of water
1-2 drops of Americolor food coloring
1 FL dram of flavoring.

I understand we're all nerds here and we get very excited about the things in our lives and stuff we've seen. Unfortunately I'm running a business in my livestream and small one burst messages one right after the other makes it very difficult for me to keep tabs on what customers say. Also if you find you are having a rather one-sided conversation with yourself, you might want to back off the subject and let others speak. I have 10 lines of text I can see at any given moment. Its not alot and I have to scroll up frequently when the chat is on a roll to get customer information.
The RP rule.
Just don't. I don't mind hugs, i don't mind people putting cute things on my head. I don't even mind pouncing. But if everything you do is an RP pose or RP-like pose. I will ask you to stop. Its one thing that gets out of hand very quickly, my Chat isn't an RP chat, if you wish you RP there's still plenty of IRC channels and Mucks where you can do this. my Business LS is not.
Please Leave Modding to the mods. Behaving like a moderator when you aren't one deeply undermines the authority of those that are. Moderator behaviors are:
1. Providing links desired of the Artist. Be they my drop box link my paypal, or any donation links.
2.Providing warnings to problem users. if i have no moderators on duty you are not doing me a favor by attempting to police my channel for me. I'm fully capable of modding my own channel. I have Mods in place to help.
3. Banning people. You have to be quick on the draw when a spammer or a troll hits. Sometimes I'm distracted by artwork and can't watch the chat like a hawk.
4.posting rules and calling bacon.
On Memetic repitition:
Lets be frank the Arrow to the knee joke got old before you left whiterun. the "What does the Fox say" joke got old before the song ended. If you want to enjoy a place free of excessive memetic repetition, my LS is the place to be. We allow for fun mostly mature conversation and tend to discourage the overuse of memes ad Nauseum. While I usually warn people up front that certain things aren't funny. the Fox thing got so bad a hefty ban was added to it to make it unwelcome completely.

For my new watchers, heres some background.
Several months ago Gen bet me that I could dedicate an evening to drawing overlord comics. (those sketchy comics you see peppering my gallery) and take donations for them for an evening and still make my nightly goal of $200. Donations have dropped off a bit in recent weeks and we've moved the comic nights from every saturday to every other. But that doesn't mean I'll stop doing them all togheter so long as there's interest!

In case we haven't been formerly introduced, which we probably havent.
I'm Foxena, or Fox. Usually just Fox. Nice simple generic. at least name wise. But the name's not important. I am a reliable commission artist that survives, completely, 100% on commissions.
My business model is simple. You ask me for work, either in my livestram or in a note. I work on it to your specifications while you watch Via livestream. (if that's your thing.) finish it in a few hours, you pay me and I give it to you. Thats my turnaround.

I don't have a backlog. I don't have people banging down my door wondering where their artwork is. If i don't have time to draw someone's art in an evening I bump them to the next night. But i NEVER ask for payment until I'm about to start or am nearly completed with the work.
Awesome right?
And that's not all. Can't afford a commission? totally fine. You like community? chatting with other cool furries in a safe SFW environment? MY livestream every night has 15-20 decent people and growing to talk with and have fun.
You're not required to buy anything when you come to the livestream. It's not just about me taking commissions, its about fun and community.
