As I've mentioned before im working on putting together a book of the overlord sketch comics. The problem being that the comics as they were were NOT formatted for print, so ive been going through, resizing and fixing everything, of course i couldn't have done it nor continue to with out  merrihop who'se been tirelessly editing my work, re-arranging text, etc etc. But I'm at 100 pages in a 200 page project i should hopefully have it in the final stages by next week.

in light of my EXTREMELY successful comic night last night, i am continuing comic night in hopes of breaking out four weeks worth of comics. I will NOT BE TAKING DONATIONS. This is a reward for you guys, So come in and enjoy the banter with me and  Merrihop

Took me forever but I finally got a cable from Wacom to replace my Cintq connector cable. It seems to have fixed all the issues I was having with the old one which THANKFULLY confirms it wasn't the connection at all just a faulty cable. This is super awesome news for me because it means I can move the damn thing around again without worrying about constant disconnection and even better allows me to work in comfier spots like the couch when im not on the streams. (i will still for professionalism sake work at my desk during streams but im super glad to have the mobility back that the darn thing was designed for.

While i still very much want a Cintiq companion, a lot of reviews i'm getting back from it aren't good and I honestly really cannot afford one right now until I get my finances squared away. Between a new car payment, medical bills and once again resuming quarterly taxes im going to be in panic mode financially untill I get back into a steady routine.

I'll be fine, and I know i'll be fine, but i still worry.

My thought process is that Wacom will come out with a new version of the companion within the next year or so which will be an improvement on the old one and I sincerely hope it does more than this current version does, and more importantly does what I feel it ought to.

I'd also like to note that while I use Cintqs and other Wacom products this doesn't mean I think they're the only game in town. If you want a more affordable on-screen tablet, I'd also strongly suggest a yiynova. did my research on it, and while it's not for me for various reasons, I will say for most people it would be a nice tool for paper-like drawing.

I'll be starting the new thread on the forum later this week (thurs/friday) I just needed to collect myself over the last couple weeks and straighten out my various obligations and what not. Thankfully my next huge commitment offline will be Megaplex. (ho god its so close...)

I'm not nearly as nervous about going this time around as I was before (i say that now, then reality will hit me two weeks out, wait for it) I am looking forward to meeting the new people that are coming this year and sad to hear some from last year aren't making it this year. But I plan on making MP a yearly thing so if I don't catch you this year, I'll be there next year too.

I do have some bad news about my candy though. I won't be able to sell it at my table or in the con space. If you'd like to pre-order some candy before MP I will see to it that I bring it to you personally, just meet me in the dealers den and I'll arrange a time I can drop it off at your room or in the lobby or something. I'll also have sample flavors if you'd like to try something. If you don't preorder beforehand I can't guarantee I'll have a flavor you want from what i'm bringing to megaplex which will essentially be 5-10 of each flavor i currently have available.

I'm so grateful for the awesome people in my life who make everything so much better, sorry to you all for being quiet this week while I'm on vacation but come Saturday I'll be back as per normal I love you guys you know who you are.

This is something i've noticed lately as I do more and more complex plots for the Overlord story.

I don't give away major spoilers, I don't ruin huge reveals, and especially i don't like to spoon feed plot and story to my readers. There are precious few comics out there that update every day, most of my favorites I'm left with cliffhangers over the weekend break or the pages are intentionally plotted out to drag out a story longer than suspenseful timing really should allow.

Also unlike quite a few daily webcomics (i'm not certain i should exclude all of them because i'm sure some others do this too, i just haven't found any) the overlord comic is donation driven, meaning that while a page will usually upload every day so long as I have material, (two if I forget a day and still have said material) donating to get more pages up quicker progresses the story faster for everyone.

Yes some of my plots aren't complex, but I still find that people enjoy the story. But that makes the more complex plot lines all the more important to me to keep them from being unraveled too quickly. I'm a big fan of foreshadowing when I can manage it. theres a lot of stuff that goes on behind the scenes that isn't shown or merely hinted at. Also bear in mind it's still a rough draft so certain subtleties might not come through as well as they will in the finished version.

Furthermore if you don't like the story or don't like the comic in general, no-one's forcing you to read it. This little project was never meant to see itself past ten pages. The first entire plot arc was written as I went. (aaannd it probably shows) so now that I have a more cohesive story planned out I'm rather proud of using plot devices like foreshadowing because before i truly was not able to out of the gate.

In case you're wondering I basically have plot planned for at least a year if not two in advance, and that's if I update every day. That's how freaking far ahead i am.

So im kinda going a liiitttle overboard, but it's been a year since i launched the rough draft overlord comic originally with no intention of it becoming more than just a catharic series of doodles. Now its become so much more with both a small array of adorable critters and a sketch comic and comic proper in the works.

My current projects include:

A comic book version of the sketchy overlord comic (200+ pages)

random assortments of charms, Buttons and bracelets (not just overlord themed but also pony and DR who because why the heck not)

desk-chirrs. I've no idea of these little guys are going to be successful (and by successful, i mean, being able to actually put them together) or not but in the event they are, i'll be selling a couple handfulls of them at megaplex. Essentially tiny plush Chirrs with a resin sculpted head.

So Tonight is Chibi themed night with Jonas and myself, I'll be doing lip quivver icons and Jonas will be doing Chibi sketchdumps.

I'll call this a nuclear cute day becase between the two of us we're sure to inflict cavaties and mayem.

My prices for chibi stuff is as follows:

I have no idea if all of the characters outside of the latin alphabet work so if you have crazy swedish/danish/nowegian/spainish characters and the ability to acess them it SHOULD be able to pick them up. Im still working on the LANUGAGE part of the characters but for now Im happy to share the "beta test" of the font.

a few things i know don't work (and don't know why its annoying but eh) are ` ' " _ ^ no idea why the designs for those didn't take but its not a huge deal either way.

So Smith Micro was having a sale so I decided to nab some programs (yay future tax deductions) for fun and work. Among these was an upgrade to Manga studio, and poser (because dude posable manniquins yay) Also i've found that buying the "debut" versions of thier programs gets me a steep discount for upgrades so i figured why not.

It also bugged me to no end that when jonas was trying to teach me the program he was limited by the fact I didn't have a full version of it.

So seriously guys if you have manga studio five, and can find its CD keys (or not you can talk to customer service and they'll help you out) you can get the upgrade for i think about 40% off right now. Its a physical copy but in my opinion well worth it.

I want to iterate though i have not abandoned cs6. I still love it and still am more familiar with all the cool stuff it can do. Sadly my job rarely utilizes all the cool stuff it can do which is a little sad. It's very rare im able to do full blown ultra high detail stuff and 90% of the time im doing basic level stuffs. Manga studio takes the basic stuff and makes it look alot prettier. The line work is smoother (thanks to the stablizer) the colors seem bolder and altogether i really like the feel. I figured to really get the most out of the program I should get the full version. IT will also help me IMMENSELY when i go to make the final Version of Isla Aukate (the overlord comic) because of the way the program functions for comic production.

Im trying to get more practice working in manga studio as opposed to photoshop. I love photoshop, i have made cs6 bend over and call me mommy. but I also realize that being specialized in one program will eventually hurt me so i want to make the move to get better in manga studio. (i also plan on upgrading the damn thing soon if it lets me)

Ergo from now on if you want a medium or high detail peice you have the option for me to do it in manga studio as opposed to photoshop. If you're okay with me experimenting with your piece I'd really love to have the option to work more in the program. I will mention that if you just want a medium or high detail sketch, that's fine but i really can't utilize alot of MS's pretty features just doing a sketch so this will also only apply to line-art and above.

There is now an easter egg hunt in the comics where the FIRST person to find it must comment it so that OTHERS DON'T. I can understand if these are within mere seconds of eachother but when its clear its already been found in the comments, please just wait untill the next one to find it. I'd prefer if there was only one of these comments (probably the first one) and the rest were bout the comic. Having all the comments in a peice be "THERE IT IS" defeats the purpose of the game after someone already found it.

I will be hiding all but the first (and winner) of each page's "i found it" comments.
