My father's oldest cat (8 years) Baby had to be put down today. She fought valiantly in the face of a diabetic shock that damaged her organs and eventually was not able to recover from. I know I've been talking about her for a few days and I wanted people from the stream to know.

I'm sort of numb right now, I raised this little fluff from 8 days old to now. It doesn't seem fair but in some way I know she's going to be okay with my mother. I am disabling comments on this journal because there's only so much "I'm sorry for your loss" and hugs I can take before I break down.

I'm gonna cling to my cat-kids today and bury myself in work like I always do when things like this happen to me. Thank you everyone for your support these past few days but she'll be in a better place.

I am insane.

SOMEHOW even with me getting my book fully edited about two months in advance I still seemed to manage to get this submitted down to the wire. But I had a day to spare in the deadline so-

This is the first time since doing this that I have a little leftover from the purchase so it will make next year less of a financial panic hopefully. Technically speaking I have enough pages to to make another book NOW. (I won't because i don't have a cover, they've not been edited etc) but in light of that I will probably try to get book 6 prepared and ready after MP, and just continue to try and keep on top of it. I so hate the last minute scramble.

But it's DONE and it's PAID FOR and I can focus on chirrs again and getting the little fuzzballs done. And the chirr infocards... oy... so much to do. But I can't wait for Megaplex even though there's so much left. i'm so excited to show off all the chirrs and display the new books.

This year's gonna be awesome.

Technically as of writing this I have assembled the resin to the fur bodies of 205 chirrs I plan to get five more completed by the end of the day. If I continue on this steady clip I will have this part of production for the chirrs finished by sunday of next week. YAY! What will remain after that is cutting out their antenna, adhering magnets, and stuffing them. I am anticipating being finished with them by the end of this month and then I'll be talking so many pictures. :p

As many of you know for the last several months I've been immersed in preparing for my one convention of the year, Megaplex. In case you are not aware of what Megaplex is allow me to direct you here: https://megaplexcon.org/

This is the second year running that this con has been local for me, living in Orlando. I love it, it feels like a "home" in a way as far as conventions go.

Two more books for the overlord comic have been produced this year, bringing the total to 5 books. All that's really left to do for them is to finish the bonus arcs, format the pages into Tiff files, finish the second cover, which is still up for YCH auction here: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/20036629/ (Several slots are just barely above Starting bid, so if you want your character on the cover place your bids now! :p) And send it off to the printer. I'm rather happy to have gotten so much of it print-ready so early. My goal is to get it to them well within the deadline so I don't have to worry about it until I pick them up.

Finally as some of you know and perhaps many still do not, I took on the very ambitious goal of making 300 chirrs for this year's Megaplex. While i do not at all intend to sell all of them at MP, I figured building up an inventory I could easily replace stock based on color more easily and it wouldn't take the better part of eight months to get them all done. Currently 175 of 300 have had their resin sewn to their bodies, and I'm moving at a pace of sewing resin to 10 chirrs daily. Once finished with this stage the chirrs will have magnets secured inside them, be stuffed, sewn and finally finished. Once I can properly gauge how long THAT final step will take me I hope that will give me a good idea of how much time it will take for me to finish the little fluffballs.

I have big plans for other critters for next year but they shall have to wait. The chirrs took up a HUGE amount of time this year but I feel having them as inventory will be most helpful in the long run.

Anyway that's the state of things for now, figured I'd keep everyone in the loop of all the stuff I've been doing lately.

My Dad will be coming in on friday and staying through the weekend till monday so during that time I will be mostly unreachable especially on saturday. (we're going to epcot yay!)

I've mostly got the condo in order for him. While he isn't nearly as neat-freakish as my mother was, I still respect him enough to keep the place clean, that and  aramis-dagaz is coming the following week, so yeah clean and tidy for the two most important men in my life.

Plush production has sort of slowed at the moment if only because I've been distracted by getting ready for guests. At this point however I'm willing to poll my audience on what they want to see from me in regards to that and what to share with the patreon. Figures the month I turn 31 is the busiest one so far this year.

I'm recovering slowly from losing mom, but I've had some other people in my life that have given me a scare in one way or another. NO ONE IS ALLOWED TO DIE RIGHT NOW DAMNIT. I can't take it my little heart can only grieve so much. So everyone please stay healthy, or get on the path to recovery, and if you're sad or lonely or feel like you can't go on, please get help. I promise you if not me SOMEONE will miss you if you are gone. Don't do that to the people who care about you.

On to the final part of the mini rant, which the relevant people won't read but hey, I made the effort to say it.

Lately, people have kind of been using my art-stream as a dumping ground for their bad day. Due to what I have mentioned above I literally cannot take this right now. And on the pragmatic side, it is REALLY bad for business when people come in and bring the entire stream's mood down. People LEAVE. Potential customers LEAVE. I need my job to survive so please, keep your personal drama out of my channel. I don't want to but I am going to have to start handing out 24 hour bans if this keeps up. Consider yourselves warned in advance. Please keep my stream-mood light and upbeat. Save your personal drama for your own journals. Even when I get sad about my mom I try to tell a funny dumb story about her because God rest her soul she did some derp things while raising me. Just please stop guys I really can't handle it.

It has been fairly recent that I have begun working in earnest to sew the starting of my inventory of Chirrs for this year's Megaplex. My methods of organization have bordered on the obsessive at times and my continued acquisition of more and more colors of Minky has made the final number continue to grow. There's a certain level of insanity involved in this I'm certain. The initial goal was 250 chirrs, at 5 of each color. That number as since grown to 280 of which I have completed 130 sewn bodies in 26 colors so far. These chirrs are not completed mind, It's just the first stage in their production. When I have a new Air conditioner, hopefully within the next month, that's when I'll start tackling the resin casting. (Something that despite my best efforts is badly effected by humidity depending on the resin)

There's also the additional desire of wanting to make Sirenidae plushes and figuring out how that will work. It took me untill this year to perfect the chirr pattern I can only hope that my experience will make that easier when I try to make a Sirenidae.

Still, rather proud of my progress so far with the chirrs. for the record I currently have 56 colors of minky, and probably will have more before I'm done.

Currently trying to get to sleep at my Dad's house, not particularly easy, but I feel mom in a weird way but not like... any anger or malevolence. I'm still sad and I will be for awhile. While no invasive autopsy was performed on my mother, it was determined by the ME that she died of an Aneurysm and was dead before she hit the floor. There was nothing anyone could have done and that alone gives me an odd peace of mind. I'll most likely be heading back home after the funeral, I fear if I linger here too long with the emotions still raw and fresh I will have a breakdown.

My dad wants me to get back to work and back to business as normal and just keep going and he's certain mother wouldn't want me to put my entire life on hold because of her. That and reconnecting with my Aunts, (mother's sister and ex-sister in law [long story, short version is my uncle married and divorced a woman who became more of our family than he ever did and we still have closed ties to her]) helps in a way because I still have pieces of my mom in her family. I will always miss her and it will always hurt in some way but I know after tonight I'll be okay.

I was most worried about my dad and I'm pretty relived to know he's going to be ok too.

Life goes on, and my mom is still here in her own way and she wouldn't want me to be stuck like this forever.

A quick and easy guide!

Step One: If you haven't already, register for a watcher's account on Tigerdie https://www.tigerdile.com/

Step Two: When the weekly schedule goes up on Sunday, grab a slot! If it's not Sunday and there are still slots available on a certain day, grab one! (I also do walk-ins during the stream itself but in order to guarantee a slot in my queue please sign up for one beforehand.)

Step Three: IMMEDIATELY after grabbing a slot either tell me in a comment on the schedule journal or in a note what level of detail you would like. (normal, medium, high) and what level of finish. (sletch, ink, color or shading) and how many characters.
If you don't know or only have a rough Idea please note me with any questions you have. Knowing the amount of work that's going into your picture allows me to easily determine how long it will take me to complete and wether or not I can take more or less slots on a specific day or if another day would work better for both of us.

Step Four: Attend the stream to watch your art get drawn, I stream at 8pm EST GMT -5:00. If you are outside of the united states and on a different continent. (for example, the UK) Please inform me. I will do my best to get to you first, Or at a time most convenient for you during the 4-5 hours I work and will most likely suggest a weekend slot over a weekday slot depending on your schedule. If for whatever reason you are 100% unable to attend the stream, please ask a friend you trust to watch for you as a proxy. At worst I will finish the sketch for your approval when you wake up and finish the rest of your piece the following evening but I would like to make sure SOMEONE who knows you and knows your tastes is there watching in case I make a mistake.

First-time clients I prefer to at least work with in person at least once before resorting to a proxy.

Step Six: Once you're satisfied with the picture and have paid you can pick up your artwork in my Dropbox that is linked during the stream after every commission is completed. I don't make it entirely public because it contains a weeks worth of people's artwork at any given time. You will have access to both the PNG file, which has already been sized to be FA friendly, and the Raw PSD file. Artwork I have completed stays in the dropbox for a week. Then it is archived into my file system on my work computer. I keep backups of all my commissions dating back to 2012. This includes PSD files. If your computer crashes or your hard drive gets wiped or any other disaster happens that results in the loss of your commission data. Odds are I have it backed up and can retrieve it for you. Barring a catastrophe on my part where all three of my backup HDs fail I will have your work backed up SOMEWHERE.

There is also the issue of the color pages. I am nearly caught up now in what I owe as opposed to what still needs to be shown. I have decided to publish up to page 20 by the end of august,Which is a little extra than what's been sponsored via the patreon. And then do my best to make sure that it updates every two weeks as it should for as long as the patreon stays where it is. Now that i have been able to settle and with Megaplex a little over two weeks away, I can dedicate a bit more time to getting the pages out and ready on time and hopefully get a nice big buffer so that I can just upload the pages as they're sponsored.

I really like drawing ponies! but I can do other stuff too. I know my gallery isn't exactly the most shining example of what I can do being ankle deep in sketchy comics and humans and ponies. Recently for VIP clients (like your's truly) He's opened up custom armature creation wherein essentially You can send him a drawing of your character and he will make an armature that is proportioned to it. He'll send you proofs, make adjustments.

Recently he made a proof of a Digigrade armature which can be found in my gallery.: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/16144852/ the final version will be 3d printed, assembled and sent to me for my use. (more pictures when I have her in my hands)

Even more recently I decided to request Silver and Darius be added to the custom list. (essentially every few weeks I'll be sending him a character or two to have made into armatures for my use.

His store comes with props that armatures with a "complex" hand attachment can use. One of Darius's defining props is his cane. A simple request to have it added to the custom order was met with excitement.

I want to take a moment to say that Paul is a WONDERFUL person to work with, probably one of the best creators I've ever had the pleasure to work with. He's open to constructive criticism, works with you to make his product (And your custom order) the best it can possibly be. And takes suggestions to improve the product to the best of his ability or explains why it can't work in a certain way. He loves feedback on his armature and if your piece arrives with something wrong he will bend over backward to make it right. If anything on your armature breaks within a year of buying it, he'll replace the broken part at no cost to you.

(i had a few older knee joints break on my very first one, they were quickly replaced within a few days. As of a few months ago he replaced the knee joints with a nut and bolt alternative that is far stronger)

If an upgrade comes out after you've purchased your armature, upgrading it is simple and fairly cheap. (five dollars is usually the maximum for new parts and they're usually available separately in the store.)

There's a better alternative. While it's pricer the the old wooden armatures of old, it's worth. Every. Penny.
