I started a new medication on Monday that has been a bit of an adjustment for me. Before any of you worry, Long story short I have Clinical Depression. I've had it for at least a decade and I am finally getting it treated. Please do not worry about me I am not in any medical danger. It's just been a rough adjustment on the meds. In other news I've mentioned this before but at the start of the new year will be an adjustment to my price list. Nothing drastic but one of the most notable is the removal of all multi-character discounts. Gen and I are currnetly brainstorming other ways to reward repeat customers for their loyalty so keep your eyes open for new announcements.

With Clip Studio Pro's new Timelapse feature I'm going to start recording the work I do with those and posting collections of them up on youtube. (probably weekly ones so it doesn't get insane) I'm REALLY looking forward to this after recording my first timelapse and seeing just how satisfying it is to watch. I hope it also helps my Youtube channel a bit.

Finally I'm going to start experimenting with making 3d sculpted models for interested clients. Still working on the pricing of those and at the same time i need a lot more practice. thinking of settng aside a day for 3d experiments for people who are willing to be lab-rats.

Just so I can't be accused of springing this on people when it happens.

At the beginning of next year I am discontinuing the multi-character discounts entirely. Which means that 2 character pictures will no longer be price and a half. I weighed the options between raising the sketch prices to $20 or doing this and I feel that this is the better option for my work going forward. As always my work continues to be 100% upgradable so if you have a 2 character picture you want done but can't afford it, I am a-ok with doing it piece by piece. (Sketch, then ink, then color, and shading if you are so inclined)

I've said this before but I'll say it again the main reason for this change was to do justice to the product. With the discount in place I felt rushed to get a 2 character picture done within a specific frame of time which results in a slightly less than stellar product in my opinion. The removal of the discount also removes a time constraint for me to allow me to have more time to make a picture look nicer. I've already started putting that time in wherever possible and will endeavor to continue and improve.

HEYO PEOPLE I'ts been a bit since I've done a "reach-out" Journal. Lets change that.

First thing. due to live getting SUPER hectic I've been a bit slow about posting art/comic stuff. I know I said i'd try to break up the comic posting with normal commissions but right now I'm just behind on posting the comic in general so I'mma do that and get caught up ish today and then go back to trying to pepper in actual artwork amongst the pages.

The Comic is slowly but steadily moving from a a happy side project/hobby into at the very least a part-time Job. The patreon support is really REALLY helping with this and we're getting close to me putting up more goals to break to really get me to where I can justify working on it more than once a week.

Currently I have enough comics in the Buffer to last me about a month past Gaming for kitties (which is awesome) and it's let me explore a new "behind the scenes" comic available exclusively for my Early access Patrons and up.

In other news several months ago I finally moved into a new house. unpacking has been slow because I'm lazy Busy with just a bunch of stuff at once. I'm not quite up at full capacity yet because there's just so much yet to deal with but I'm getting there slowly.

I would like to eventually move to store envy and put everything there instead or possibly make my own store front but for now I'll have to deal with Etsy.

A few things to note: my charms come from a chinese factory and i am out of stock of several of them. They are also still packed somewhere so alas I won't be re-newing thier listing until I can reliably know Ill have more in stock (and can afford to re-stock)

I will /finally/ be adding my 3d printed dinosaurs to my etsy store. The nessies and the Raptors will finally have thier own listing with about 20 colors between them. Sirenidae inventory is still packed but I can print them on demand so that's less of an issue. it might just take your order slightly longer if I have to print a bunch on short notice. I'm also working on a few other 3d printed designs.

Most importantly the Chirrs, all of them, are going live again. During these trying and crazy times I think it would be nice to have a tiny little fluffy therapy pet to carry around.

my monster facotry (aka, my ability to make new critters and customs) will HOPEFULY resume next month. The move took a bit out of me but I'm happy to say it's been a fun experience. Especially now that I have a room that's almost as big as the condo I'm moving out of. Being able to lay out all of my inventory and visualize it is going to be awesome in the future. Esp because I never so anything "small scale" it seems. I hope to have the etsy store back to mostly full function by the end of the week or early next week depending on how things go.

Welp funny story. Those of you who are regulars to the stream/members of patreon already know this thanks to  genesisw and  neinbox streaming in my place.

A few days ago I closed on a new house and very excitedly moved in myself and all of my streaming equipment in hopes of being able to adjust to the new place and be all set up in time for my participation to Cozycon, the online convention hosted by Temrin. I had an appointment THE DAY I CLOSED ON THE HOUSE. To set up my internet. While I was waiting for them to show up, I moved over all of my work-computer equipment so it would be ready when the tech arrived.

When the tech arrived, I was informed that there were no hookups in the house for cable. (it's an older house, freshly remodeled by a bank that apparently forgot that internet and cable were a thing and didn't replace the cable wires/inputs after they were ripped out, pre-remodel.) As this is the very first house I've ever owned. (before this i owned a condo, and before that apartments) It had never occurred to me that I might have to hire someone to run cables since that was decidely /NOT A THING/ at any point in my experience growing up/living on my own.)

Now perhaps the smart(er) thing to do would have been to re-pack all of my equipment, take it back to the condo, set it all back up and that would be the end of it. I will fully admit most of the reason why I haven't is because my setup is EXTREAMLY wire-heavy because I deal with 3 monitors plus a drawing tablet. A /VERY EXPENSIVE/ and /VERY LARGE/ drawing tablet that I honestly did not want to move around and risk breaking by too much back and forth. It also takes me anywhere from one to two hours to set everything up and get it to where I can manage all of the cables (tie them back etc) It's a huge process. I didn't want to do it twice.

So I figured "okay I need to hire an electrician, the cable provider I chose has given me a referral, easy peasy I'll get it done this weekend." I tried to access thier website. It was down. I managed to get in contact via a website chat on their site and set up my appointment for Saturday. (i wanted friday but what can you do.)

However thanks to Covid, and this company's work policy, no-one was available for the times I requested. I was then told my appointment would be sunday. I was told this Friday night just before curfew in my area started. I had to Cancel my plans for Cozycon literally at the last minute as there was no way I could get my internet up in time to participate.

I wake up saturday to a text on my phone saying the technician coming out on sunday had to cancel. I also saw an alert for being charged the service. Livid, I called the company and asked them to at least explain the charge considering it stated on thier website I wouldn't be charged unless the job had been completed. (and considering this whole affair requires me to give the technician access to my attic I rightfully assumed the work hadn't yet been done while I slept. (it had indeed, not been done, the charge was a "hold" on my account which i was not thrilled about but let slide) I spoke with the poor lady on the other end about another sunday appointment and she said she'd have the company text or email me when they could find someone.

I waited all day and well into the evening and essentially gave up on this company after zero word. I spoke to a local friend last night about any electricians he knew personally in the area and after about a half hour was able to secure a 1pm installation of my cable with help of him and two other friends. So now I'm waiting for that and HOPEFULLY once the cable is run I can have my internet provider activate my cable.

tl:dr I moved into a house with no cable hookups and therefore have no internet (im currently tethering, shittily from my att phone. it is too shitty to stream with sadly) Attempts to get the cable installed kept getting delayed, found friends to insall it, waiting on them and hoping I will have working internet tonight. If not. Gen will probably stream in my stead once more.

I know my gallery has just been... flooded, honestly. With the comic. Which happens, alas, when you have one that technically updates every day. But for some of you the comic isn't why you're here, watching me.

So I have imposed a new rule on myself that should hopefully make peeps happy and get to see more work for me. I still want to upload the comic here to FA but I also know lots of people would like to see actual art from me too. So the new rule is that for every 5 pages of comic I upload, I will also upload at /least/ 5 pictures from my commission archive.

Also I do tend to try and shove everything in appropriate folders so even if things TO get flooded, simply go to my gallery, and click "general commissions" or if you are so inclined "Pony commissions" and you'll see all of my non-comic work that i've done for clients. Still working on bundling up my comic-related artwork that isn't comic work perse. But hey it's a start.

I find that while forums were definitely something I could keep up with when I was younger, that's far less of a case now. I'm an in-the-moment sort of person these days where I like to pop in, chat and then go about my day but also feel engaged for the times when I do drop in.

I also feel like real-time discourse might be a more fun way for me to grow my community than comments on a comic thread (that will still be there, no worries just a different format probably) We're working on how we handle that currently and how to moderate it.

I've started looking into buying a house in preparation for our future together as Husband and Wife. The Condo has been a nice home for the last, almost five years, But it's time for me to move on from it. It wasn't meant to house more than one person comfortably and I feel it would be unfair to try and cram Aramis in here. Even temporarily.

A new house = a nice fresh start and more space and I'm so excited to start looking once the paperwork is filled out.

I'll finally be able to have a /safe/ workshop for the monsters/plush I make. Resin casting is toxic and not good for me long term so I need a place to work on it that's better ventilated. Re: A garage. There's also the issue of my pressure pot which I can't currently use in my condo purely for safety reasons.

So yeah those are a lot of collective reasons to start moving toward new fun stuff. Figured I want to keep all of you in the loop too since you guys have been here and watching me for goodness knows how long. Thank you c:

I want to say for Starters that odds are good this will not effect 70% of you. At least not consistently.

Recently I've started noticing that while 1-2 character pictures tend to take the usual amount of time for me to complete, anything beyond that starts getting difficult for me to process/arrange characters. So, starting the first of next year all commissions including 3 characters and up will be subject to paying full price for each character in the picture.

Things this will also affect: Ref sheets. Ref sheets have a three unique pose layout, front, back side and an optional line-only pose that is simply one of the other 3 poses that's been stripped of all color. Starting January first Reference sheets will be $150 instead of $100. They take a fair bit of time to complete and the new prices will be reflecting that.

Like I said, this will not affect MOST of the commissions I take. But I figured I'd give you guys a heads up well in advance. I'll be posting reminders for this every couple of weeks so it's not a omg huge shock when I do implement it.

In order of what I prefer: Bottled water, cherry coke, or Regular coke, all in sealed bottles/cans. Mostly for hydration/caffeine needs.

What can I give you?
If you want to give me anything, I rather like polyhedral dice sets. They don't have to be expensive, but I really like fiddling with things in my hands and it helps me de-stress. I also just like collecting things like this because they're small and don't take up a bunch of space.

What shouldn't I give you?
Poprocks, candy, or "joke" items. If you give me a gift that is intended to irritate or frighten me, I will not speak to you again for the rest of the con or potentially ever. Those of you attending should know what does/doesn't scare me/irritate me.

Why can't I give you candy? I thought you liked chocolate/etc.
I do, trust me. It pains me to say it, but I'm getting older and subsisting on a diet of candy and cola throughout the con is really really bad for me. I can't eat pocky anymore for example. if you're going to give me something, I'd prefer it to be something that's going to help me and not give me a sugar crash in the middle of my very busy workday. (also when I'm stressed I tend to crave salt, not sweet)

As of this posting I have drawn and finished all 100 pages of the /next/ comic arc of the Isla Aukate plotline. Bringing my page buffer to 120 pages as of today. Next week during Overlord weekend I'll be dishing out color comic pages to get that buffer rebuilt and the weekend after that we'll celebrate the sketch comic's 6 year anniversary.

Happy birthday to me, And I know it'll be a good day. Spending time with my father and Fiance who came down to visit me this week. (bless them both.)

Yesterday was an exhausting but fun trip to Cape Canaveral, specifically the Kennedy Space Center which, given the tours we went on there, they are SUPER excited to be getting back into manned space travel before the year is out. (or at least peparations therin) Which is super nice to see. SpaceX has been actually working very close with NASA to make this happen and if anything just knowing this first hand was an excellent B-Day present for me.

I don't make a super huge deal of it but I am kind of a space/nature nut. (I just never was 100% on board with aliens being greys or having to fill out that visual sterotype. I like the ones I came up with tons better. but I digress. ) So this was kind of a nice low-key squee for me. I had inklings that it was going in that direction thanks to SpaceX and (im drawing a blank on what Boeing calls their space program but there's two) helping to bolster NASA back to a new era of glory days, we hope.

So yea, it's my birthday and I'm a giant nerd. In other news water is wet :p

I've decided to play this week by ear but I MIGHT stream tomorrow if I feel like it but honestly I't's probably going to wait until sunday/monday for commission streams to resume.
