Looking for feedback
General | Posted a year agoHowdy y'all,
I don't want to be a downer here, but I've been struggling a bit lately as I've been experimenting and trying to pin down my artistic voice. So I've been wondering:
What do y'all like about my art?
I've been embarrassed to ask. I don't want to come across egocentric. But knowing what y'all are seeing that resonates with you might help me see the bigger picture and what's working.
I appreciate any feedback, no matter how small. If you see this and don't have anything to say, I still appreciate you giving this a look, and I hope you're havin' a good day.

So Long 2023!
General | Posted 2 years agoHowdy y'all,
It's been a while since I've done anything that feels concrete, so I wanted to just check in.
It's been a long year for me. Some good things happened, a lot of bad, some good things that just felt bad anyway. I spent a lot of time feeling like I had been letting fear steer my life, and as I wrestle to take back the wheel, I'm figuring out where I really am and where I want to go. I've been confronting parts of me that have been holding me back in life, in art, in my friendships, and in being a part of this or any community. It's not an easy fight, but I'm still goin'.
While I haven't posted much, I have been doing art for myself, just trying to see what I make when I don't feel pressured to share. I'm trying to really find my voice and find the things I can't not make. The kind of work I'm known for here is a part of that, but I feel like I've been holding things back from this too. I feel like I've split myself into a bunch of completely different artists, and the lack of overlap makes me feel like something's missing from each one.
I have more work coming. I'm not planning on leaving any time soon. I am thinking about how I can change my approach to my work, so I can feel more whole with the way I express myself. I'm not sure what that will look like yet. These are some pretty heavy blocks I'm drilling through. As much as I needed my alone time to process and rebuild myself, I need to put myself out there more too.
Thank you for sticking around with me, even when I disappear so often. Y'all have done so much for me, and I want to be able to give back somehow. I want to be better at just being around.
So Happy New Year! I hope for the best for everyone this year, and leave behind the burdens we can afford to leave in 2023.

Hey, it's me. How's life?
General | Posted 3 years agoHowdy y'all. It's been a while.
When I made my update journal over a year ago I didn't think it would take so long to make another one. The last few years have been something. Not bad, not amazing, but full of change. My work, home, and social responsibilities have been more demanding in the last couple years than any other time in my life, and I cope with it all the way I always have; by seeking solitude and isolation.
I only hope no one feels hurt by my sudden and long absence. My lack of involvement in this community has been from a lack of energy, not from any personal issue. It is something I have long wanted to remedy, but I have difficulties with. I'd like to promise that I'm going to be more involved in this wonderful community going forward, but I don't want to promise more than I can give right now. Just know that I miss you all, I miss what I had here, and I long to return.
I'm planning on posting more art soon, but I will be doing so at my own pace. I probably won't open commissions for a while. I'm out of practice and need to work my way back up to it. I'll give a head's up when I'm ready to open again. I also want to be more social, even when I'm not posting. I've used my art as sort of a gateway to talking to people, and it's become enough of a crutch that I struggle to be socially active without it. Hence, a dip in productivity means I disappear. I don't really like that.
So yeah. I am where I am. I just want to let y'all out there know I'm doing ok, and I want to be around more; but also that isn't super easy for me right now. I hope life's good for all y'all, and that you're finding strength in stressful times. I'm taking things as they come, keeping it chill, and I hope I can connect with y'all some more soon.

Update on Hiatus
General | Posted 4 years agoHowdy y'all~
It's been a minute, or *six months*, but who's counting? Still alive. Still busy. I wanted to give a little update on what's going on for me.
The work that kept me occupied for the summer went well, and even opened some opportunities for some work in the winter. It's good work, but it keeps me pretty busy. I likely won't be streaming or opening commissions for at least another month. I'm trying to manage my time and energy better so I can stay involved in this space and create art for myself on the side. This is a struggle for me, though, so don't worry or take it personally if I seem to disappear again.
Thank you to everyone who's been interacting with my art while I've been dormant. I can't wait to get back into making fun, sexy stuff.

Probable Hiatus
General | Posted 4 years agoI said on my header that I would be taking a short break. Well, one thing lead to another and that break might be a bit longer.
I won't get into details, but I'm working on stuff that could end up taking a lot of my time, or not a lot of my time. I'm still figuring out how it's going to change things for me, but it could mean I'm not around too much for the next few months, or that I'm around but keeping the work lighter, or maybe I'll have the time to return to my usual routine in a couple weeks. We'll see.
I just wanted to clarify things since I've been teasing for commission openings soon, and that might not be as soon as I originally planned. I'll make another update when I figure out how this is all gonna go.

Still Alive
General | Posted 5 years agoWhat a month it has been. I kinda disappeared for a spell there, and that leaves me a lot to catch up on.
I'll be posting the commissions from my last batch this week. They've been done for about a month, but I haven't been around at good times to post them yet.
I'll also be opening commissions this Monday. I might not take as many this time, so those who order then will be able to have theirs done in time for the holidays.
I also just aim to be around more in general, hope to chill with y'all soon~

How do you feel about commission forms?
General | Posted 5 years agoHowdy y'all,
I've been noticing lately that a lot of people accept commissions using nicely formatted Google forms. I've been thinking of updating my process to use forms for those looking to get commissions, but I thought I'd ask folks how they felt about them first.
On the commissioner's side, do you find it easier to use forms? Is it more convenient, or less convenient? Do you find having the structure of a form helps you communicate what you want, or does it make it harder? Does it feel too impersonal compared to sending an email? Or does it feel less intimidating to send a standard form without having to contact the artist personally?
On the artist side, has using forms helped with managing commissions? Are forms easy to organize? Are there any problems you've had using forms? Any major advantages or disadvantages? Have you found your commissioners like using them, or have any complained?
I'm just looking for feedback before I change how I do things.

Busy times ahead (Commissions closed)
General | Posted 7 years agoAhoy folks. Just giving a heads up. My other job has put a lot on my plate very suddenly so I have to pull back on the time I spend on my work here. I won't be disappearing completely, I hope.
Just to be safe, I'm closing commissions for now. I don't want to accept any jobs when I don't know when I'll have time to complete them.
I'll post when I can. I don't expect things to quiet down for a few months. I'm aiming to open things up in September, hopefully with more game than ever ^_^
