Sorry I've gone a tad quiet - back on the ball in a bit
Posted 4 years agoWill just cut to the chase, I lost a close pal of mine abruptly to fate just the other day. It was tragic, upending news for me and our mutuals, and I can't even fathom how their family has been taking it. While the shock and grieving lingers, I'm steadily powering through a bounce back as these evenings trudge by. The news put me in a pretty rough mental state, but I don't intend to use it as an excuse to get too lax with what I very much so want to keep as work - delivering to you all.
Just wanted to get this advisory/update out on the matter- as much as I'm used to being quiet and reserved about everything, gotta break that habit a bit. I simply ask, please be patient with the couple of commissions on the finishing steps and the sketches I'll prepare for those that have slotted into my March batch! My past few days have dealt me a pretty nasty curveball as far as focus goes, but I'll be back up on the horse shortly- sooner rather than later. I'm going to honestly predict I'll take the rest of this weekend to mellow out and at try least next week to steadily get back into the groove.
Cherish and love your friends, make sure they know you do every once in a while, and don't take a single day with them for granted

Commissions for March [Closed TY!]

As ever, thanks so much for all the support thus far, it really, really means a lot, and lets me continue to do this for work
Nothing super new or crazy to report this time around but I'm ready to start taking slots commissions again; as always feel free to comment here, note me, or hit me up anywhere else such as Discord or Telegram with an idea and commission type at least. (Please try to have these, if not immediately then at least within a day or two while keeping communication, so I can keep you all organized in a timely manner!) Since I've had issues with a particular client ghosting me in the past, I'll have to say a slot is forfeit if one of the following two things occur:
- No final commission info received from client within 48 hours
- No payment received within 48 hours after a thumbnail sketch is provided
If either of these are rectified before the slot is filled by another body of course, I'll continue on as normal, but I do need to make sure I can keep the flow going!

Posted 4 years agoTrying something a little different as I've been making some decent pace catching back up!
I expect to get my last few commissions finished up by next week (The week of the 14th) and will be at least ready to start taking down names for slots in that time. I'm predicting Monday but depending on where some other obligations fall time-wise it might be later in the week. But for sure next week so keep an eye out~ figure I'd give a little heads up this time around
Another tidbit, I'm going to be looking to get a bit more income without impacting the flow of my monthly commissions too hard so an idea I've been playing around with is running discounted colored sketches for 18 usd (typically 25 usd) on select days.
I'm still working out in my head when those days will be... leaning towards making it a drop-in Picarto Stream commissions deal when I find some days to toss that up, but in any case once I figure that out I'll drop another little notification on here; stream-post or not!
I'm debating on this or maybe even some PWYW (pay what you want) commissions mixed in if I do in fact find the whim and time to stream! Feel free to leave thoughts/ideas if any of you that read this might be down or at least dig either idea. A gauge of interest even if slight goes a long way

Quick Update: Going to slow down a smidge
Posted 4 years agoNothing super serious, but just in lieu of my prior journal opening slots mentioning that d I'd be aiming to work things out double-time, I was hit with an injury to my hip and backside within the past few days that I'm predicting is going to take about a week for pain/discomfort to subside. It's essentially just keeping me from sitting at my desk for long or extended periods (let alone wanting to sit at all) compared to laying down so I'm opting to be a bit careful.
I'm still working out the backend commissions all the same, I'm just going to have to double -back- on my previous plan of hard-balling them and instead pacing myself a little bit each day so I'm not straining sitting for too long; want to make sure I can be properly right as rain sooner rather than later.

Opening up Commission Slots [Closed] Ty!

Hope everyone's been having at least a decent or better 2021 so far, I know here in the USA things are still rather hectic, and changing every few weeks...
I'm a little late into February here, but as I get around to finishing up the last couple commission of my last batch this week, I'm going to also open up a new round for February here. Frankly enough, my lull during the holidays took its hit, as I somewhat expected it to in hindsight. Being a little behind as it is but still needing to whack at bills and groceries, I'm gonna double-time it on this next batch!
To add on and assure, I'm going to finish the last few of my December batch within the next week or so, roughs and slot confirmations on this batch aside; this here is simply to get back into the monthly flow albeit on a bit of a backfoot-
and I'd be fibbing if I didn't say it's also to get income back afloat as well

Posted 4 years agoHey all! Hope you all have been staying safe these days, and warm if you're in these colder areas of the world right now!
I wanted to get a quick word out that I'm going to be a little off the radar for the next few days with family for the holidays, and on the topic of my current lineup of commission orders; while the initial goal was to have most of them cracked out by this time, the busy-ness of this month for me while dealing with family and holiday plans pushed my work rhythm back.
I had a client contact me already outside of FA on the holdup and I want to assure you all I've still got everything lined up! I'm gonna take this holiday refresher to readjust back to my normal rhythm come the new year, and in these coming weeks, keep an eye on my front page for those tallies of commissions getting done if you hadn't been contacted yet at that time. (I will remind I tend to work things in the order of who-paid-first rather than the who-ordered-first of that slot list, so keep that in mind!) I'll also try to get some uploads of completed orders in bit by bit if I can instead of just a bulk barrage at the end of the batch, especially if I fit some fun warmups in
In any case, hang tight guys and gals, enjoy your Holidays and be of great cheer~ and for those like me that celebrate it, Merry Christmas! We're almost through this doozy of a year!
