The Start of Something Big!
Posted 8 years agoSo, I finally have my first commissioned artwork of Jamie Foxworthy. It's a simple image, drawn in a cartoony sort of fashion, but hey, I'll take that! Once I meet with the artist later today to pay him for services rendered and to take down his info so I can credit him, I'll finally have an avatar icon! YEAH!!!!! :D
Oh! And, P.S.: A special, sincere thank-you goes out to all who have read my short story, Hieroglyphs. Thank you all for taking the time to read my cherished work of fiction. :)

A Chance Encounter
Posted 8 years agoI've been thinking... I've mentioned how the comic "Archeologis Vixen" (which I initially found on Tumblr, lucky me) got me into the furry fandom. Isn't that amazing? How seeing a picture COMPLETELY changes your life? Like... It was an epiphany! I never knew until then that furries AND um... certain mature/adult subjects, existed together until then. And, it was all up to chance. If I didn't use the query that I did at the time that I did, I may have never found "Archeologis Vixen" on Tumblr. It's absolutely crazy... A life changing picture. Imagine that!
Furs and their Fursonas
Posted 8 years agoAs I probably mentioned before, my voluptuous vulpine of an OC meets a rather dismal fate at the end of her story. A dismal fate inspired directly by rcanheta's "Archeologis Vixen" and several of rubbervixen's works. So, being a noob and a worrywart, I posted a thread to the FA Forums, asking if it was taboo to do that sort of thing to your primary OC, and I was glad to hear that it wasn't unheard of. And, apparently, there are some fursonas who end up far worse off than mine. :O
Inspiration Flash!
Posted 8 years agoWork has been slow, but steady for my OC's story, Hieroglyphs: The Tale of Jamie Foxworthy. But, today I had a flash of inspiration that could add a substantial amount to the story. I've decided that my OC, in her past life, was a priestess of Anubis, or something like that. I think that she would've overstepped her authority, or something else that would infuriate the pharaoh, and she was put to death as punishment. But, she somehow escaped being entombed, which would explain why Jamie meets her dismal fate at the end of the story, plus it could explain some other important areas of her personality. Hope this works!
Art & Science
Posted 8 years agoSo, as I mentioned earlier, I'm working on a longer adaptation of Hieroglyphs with my OC as the poor soul who meets the dismal fate at the end. But, I've got such a long way to go until I get to all of the "fun" parts. I'm currently chipping away at a chapter called "Art and Science", which in a nutshell, is a slow slice-of-life scene where my character tries to get her soon-to-be girlfriend to appreciate the beauty of nature. While I love appreciating nature in real life, writing about that has proven to be as interesting as watching paint dry. Urk! I really hope that inspiration comes soon...
I'm not a bot!
Posted 8 years agoSo, on Monday, I'm going to be meeting with a person to discuss getting a commission done of my OC. But, until that's done, I think I'm going to be stuck with the default avatar icon, which Zeo_Fawx pointed out, usually indicates a bot. And people tend to avoid pages with the default avatar icon because of that... So... I'm sorta stuck in limbo until then... Urk...
Noob Problems
Posted 8 years agoOk, so I don't know if writing a journal entry is the best way to address this issue, but I REALLY want to find some other furs to talk to, and I don't have a clue of what's the best/most effective way to socialize with other users on this site. Um... If anyone happens to see this, could you give a noob some advice? I'd greatly appreciate that.
OC Story
Posted 8 years agoSo, last night, I posted a story that I wrote back in November/December called "Hieroglyphs", a tribute to "Archeologis Vixen" by Rcanheta. However, a lot has changed since I first wrote that story. Since then, one of my buddies suggested that I expand the story. And since then, I have adopted the story's ill-fated protagonist, Jamie Foxworthy, as my fursona, albeit with characteristics more like my own. The expanded story is called "Hieroglyphs: The Tale of Jamie Foxworthy", and I just finished the second chapter this morning. I really hope that this isn't considered redundant or anything...
