So I'm running a Big Eyes, Small Mouth 4th Edition game on Roll20 and am looking to recruit a few new players.

Players who are new to the system are welcome and we play weekly on Monday evenings.

The theme of the game is a monster of the week styled game involving the players as students at a local high school and members of a Paranormal Research Club. The player characters are all intended to be Humans with the Student starting template. The themes can get kind of dark on times but not living entirely in the realm of doom and gloom. We use voice chat on the Roll20 site with discord to supplement for sharing of files and general memes/silliness.

so just recently it would have been the first birthday of my mother since her passing last year, and the anniversary of her death is coming up in a few weeks. It's going to be a tough few weeks.

Besides that over the next little while I'll be housesitting/dogsitting so with any luck the change of pace will help my state of mind. That said, i'll be away from my PC so it'll a complete halt on art for the next little while.

Like the title says. I'm going to be involved in a family exchange, whatever that's supposed to mean, with some other folks in a town called Nilbog. I hear they have one hell of a produce setup and well, you can't piss on hospitality.

But in all seriousness, i'll be away for the next 2 weeks doing some house sitting and puppy care. See you all when I get back, till then take care.

Since the 12th I've been up to my neck in funeral arrangements and taking care of all manner of financial matters that were just floating in the wind. It's taken up more than a small amount of my time and all of my piece of mind. Things are nearing their end in that regard, and I'm getting some of my mental state back again. On that note, you'll see me posting again on a regular basis. It'll be slow at first but it'll be back to its regular strange pace.

Been dealing with more and more drama close to home of late. It seems that every time I try to get back into art something happens to pull me away again. This time in particular it's my mom landing herself in the hospital AGAIN with breathing problems AGAIN because she won't stop smoking and the doctors have given her an ultimatum AGAIN over this.

It's been an ongoing issue with her continuing to smoke in spite of having COPD and being told point blank to stop smoking by her doctors for several years. She routinely insists that the things like being put on several medicines to help her breathe and even having oxygen tanks in case of emergency are just there so she can CONTINUE TO SMOKE!

Honestly, I don't know what to do at this point. I feel like I should be there to support her and to help my brother. That's the good right and proper thing to do. On the other hand there's the issue of going in there would mean my brother driving out here to get me, drive back and when things even out or when it gets closer to my doctors appointment next week he'd have to drive out here to drop me off and back again. That's easily going to run him over $100.00 in gas, when he's also looking at having to cover the three ambulance trips she's racked up in as many weeks. Besides that the only place I'd be able to stay is at his place and he spotted bedbugs there just a few days ago so I'm nervous about them hitching a ride back to my place out here.

Besides that there's also the issue of her getting all up in arms like she always does a day or two after being released from hospital for this kind of thing. Typically she'll start pestering for cigarettes and when she doesn't get them from me she'll start at my brother. He'll refuse and then the threats start. She'll make threats to call the police and claim abuse over this and that's the kind of thing that, even when disproved, will continue to come up any time a background check is done be it for an apartment, job, anything. It's sort of a self defense thing to keep away at this point so far as I'm concerned.

That said it still feels like I'm being self centered and should go anyway. It's so screwed up.

Any advice or input is very welcome at this point

So I was thinking of something to do for October this year and settled on the idea of doing a series of pics of Aylinvara "interacting" with a bunch of different monsters. She's already had encounters with werewolves, skeletons/ghosts (post pending) and a dragon but what do you guys think she should encounter next?

So, after a VERY stressful move and a load of nasty surprises afterwords, I'm happy to say that I'm up and running again for art stuff. I'll be resuming commission work over the next few days and people can start expecting updates on their pics through next week.

Thanks again to everyone for sticking with me in this difficult time and making a stressful ordeal that much more bearable.

Sorry to say I've hit a bit of a slump. IRL stressers are taking me away from my art but it's absolutely necessary as within 4 weeks if things don't turn around we'll be homeless. We're currently looking for a new place but the housing crisis isn't making that an easy task.

Besides that, and more importantly, our dog had started having seizures again. He was already at the maximum dosage for his weight with the medication he was on and any new medicine would have to be sent out by mail, taking several extra days and allowing him to further degrade in the meantime.

Sadly, it was beyond our abilities to save him this time and he quickly wasted away. It wasn't long before he was too weak from his seizures to stand anymore and so the decision had to be made for him to be put down. As it turned out even if we had decided to go the additional medicine route, by the time it got to him he'd have died waiting.

Still, it was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make and even though it was several days ago I still feel guilty about what happened. The logical part of my brain says that it was the right thing to do since even if a new medicine would have extended his life, the amount of damage that was done would have degraded him to a shadow of his former self. Hell, I don't even know if he'd have even been able to swallow the medicine with the state he was in at the end. The other side of me is saying that I failed him and that it should have been me getting that needle in my arm. I keep expecting to hear him walking around the apartment every so often, or feel him jump up on the bed for head pats in the middle of the night.

I'm pushed to my limit and need to take a step back for my own sake.

Sorry about the lack of uploads of late. I've been dealing with the loss of a family member that was both sudden and unexpected. It's always difficult mentally when you lose a member of your family, but this time it was compounded by them being half my age and by suicide as well.

That wasn't even the biggest part of the problems here but the most glaring. I'm starting to come out of the funk it put me in and will be posting again soon but just wanted to tell everyone what's been going on and explain my absence.

As most of you may have noticed the last few months have been pretty light on the contact front. For that I apologize about, but can only say that it was due to some EXTREME issues in terms of depression. To be honest just looking at my tablet was enough to send me into a panic attack for a while there. I'm trying to get back to things but it'll be a little bit at a time so I don't end up putting myself back in the same place again.

So yesterday I got my new tablet and it's up and running, meaning that over the next 24 hrs I'll be working on a load of comms and also getting some adops out there if all goes as planned.

Got my official level up certificate for turning 42 today.

So I should have done this ages ago so people wouldn't wonder, but being how I am of course I waited too long to do this.

But to make a short story a bit longer than it has to be: My tablet recently decided that it was going to up and die on me. I'm currently waiting on a replacement but between the pandemic and the holiday last week it's taking a bit longer than I'd counted on to get it. In the meantime I've done a few traditional sketches that I'll be uploading here and I'll keep you guys in the loop about the replacement tablet and digital art.

So Womp Stomp pictures did it again. This time they made a prequel to their previous Friday the 13th fan film in the form of Never Hike in the Snow so if you haven't seen it, check it out. If you haven't seen their previous short Never Hike Alone then this may work out even better for you since if you put both of them together you now have a linear narrative you can follow and it makes a nearly feature length sitting between the two of them.

Also I have to say it's odd to be able to say that a Friday the 13th ANYTHING has strong performances, but this is absolutely the case. Both of these shorts bring not only a different perspective to the franchise but also give you a small cast that you can actually relate to and who do (mostly) smart things.

I've been away for a while now due to some personal problems that just had me too drained to even attempt to engage with anyone beyond the most basic level. I'm happy to say that this seems to have straightened itself out and I'm back on the up and up. I'll be posting again tough keep in mind, the last two months have seen me nearly at a standstill art wise. With everyone stuck in one spot while Covid-19 runs wild over the globe, I was wondering if anyone would be in the market for custom gaming icons for roll20 or the like of RPG characters? I'll upload a few examples of the kind of things I'm talking about over the next few days but just to gauge interest I thought I'd ask on here.

So, the last few days have been interesting to say the least. The city of St. John's has been in a state of emergency due to a record breaking snowfall that has had the city in a state of emergency since Friday, January 17th. Meaning that the city has been shut down with no non emergency vehicles permitted on the streets, businesses ordered closed by the city with a fine for anyone found violating these limitations. It's only within the last 24 hours that the gas stations have been allowed to open with the stipulation of fuel purchase only and priority being given to snow clearing use, and pharmacies being open.

The power and internet has been spotty at best with a lot of people being without heat and warming stations being set up and the army being called in for help in digging out the city and transportation of people in need of help getting to said warming stations.

Because of the spotty power and internet connectivity I've been offline with the computer powered down and unplugged for fear of a surge frying my hard drive or wrecking another mother board. What's making matters worse is that the state of emergency is predicted to last another 72 hrs so at minimum they're saying that we're going to be at a stand still for at least 8 days total. For me that means a loss of 5 days work at the very least and no ability to do any digital art for commissioners or even my own entertainment for the last few days. I'm going to be doing a batch of adopts when this is over to try and make up some lost income and possibly doing a commission work marathon to try and open up some additional slots for more business. I'll stream if at all possible.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, this is going to be interesting.
