In Remembrance
Posted 9 years agoAbout a week or more ago, I was quiet and subdued. Some had asked on SL if I was alright to which I never gave a full answer except for a select few. The rest deserve to know.
My grandfather passed away on October 2nd after a month in a hospice and two weeks in the hospital. Complications by gall stones were the culprit. He was a tough individual and I thought he would overcome it. I was wrong. Pancreatis that became septic and affected his kidneys. He was 91.
A week ago this day, my family and I laid him to rest at the Riverside National Cemetery across from the March Air Force base. During his eulogy I learned more about him then when he was around. I learned he did more then take part in D day during WW II. That he was there at Iwo Jima during those days and through it all he survived. When people said he was a hero, he would humbly reply,"I'm no hero. The heroes are the ones that never returned or survived."
He grew roses in his yard to which he offered the ladies, put others before him and loved everyone in his family. I'll miss his laugh, his voice, the way he and his siblings would bicker and argue. Most of all I'll miss how he used to greet me.
"You kicking ass and taking names?"
"Yes Grandpa."
"Good."
Semper Fi, Grandpa.

Undertale
Posted 9 years agoTotally doing it.
Bought the game going through it after hearing so much about it.
Question remains: Will I go through with this 100%?
The answer is yes. There are some games I will pick up, play then put down and let alone for a few months before coming back and picking up again, only to start from scratch.
Then there are games that grab my full attention where I am determined to complete.
Undertale fits under that category. So wish me luck people.
The thought of completing this journal entry fills me with... determination.

Dream
Posted 10 years agoI had a dream last night that was vivid enough to draw what memories still hold. A peculiar dream that as with those dreams it felt so real.
I was a female dragoness living among a family of humans. The details are hazy as to how or why I wound up there. It was a modern family, nothing of medieval setting or what not consisting of a sister, father and mother a family of three. My scales were a deep blue (I think, as there was no mirror nor any reflection to draw on save for my hands) stood 5'4 and felt very light. I had horns jutting from my skull and they were ridged as I brushed my fingers along them. I know this cause I felt them as I struggled (in vain) to put a baseball cap on, much to the amusement of said adoptive sister. I had hair and it was short and striped in various shades of purple.
The only clothing I remember wearing was those large button up dress shirts. I say this because of one thing: How the hell do we dress up our fursonas and not stress at how cumbersome or bothersome clothing can be for wings and a tail?! I was fussing about how cramped my wings felt knowing I tried to open them, only to have the shirt restrict them from much movement at all as my tail flicked in irritation. Said sister says not to worry about it as I scoff and mutter as to why I should wear clothing in the first place. I think I heard something along the lines of looking semi-decent rather then be about in public in the nude so to speak.
Some issue came up later that day that said sister and I were discussing before I awoke from the dream.
It was interesting as such dreams are and having them are rare indeed.

Moving... to another home.
Posted 10 years agoWhy is it moving can be stressful, a headache and nervewracking all rolled into one? And yet all I'm doing is merely packing up and getting things ready?
Long story short the house I moved into to help my brother after a few months of rumors is being flipped. While sis in law tried best with a few realtors hoping to come up with some plan to buy house, things fell through. my cred score for home etc is not good enough, the cards my sis in law was supposed to get is a no show and we are out of time.
October 1st is the deadline to pack up and vacate, yet all the new place searching is nothing short of aggravating and infuriating. >:/ app fees, pet deposits (some which are insane. $500 per pet?! seriously?!?!)
So thats that. :/
Here's a song that oddly enough I searched high and low after listening to it from the rain forest commercial on youtube. Deep, powerful and moving. Its... wow.

Bleck
Posted 10 years agoBeing woken up at 1:10 am Tuesday morning with a sharp pain on the left side is enough to leave anyone in a sour and miserable mood. What makes matters worse is unlike before, such pain does not go away leaving for a restless night. Alas had to call in sick that day then arrange to find some way to get to a medical clinic and find out WTF is going on. I requested a packet from my work back in March for med/dental coverage but never got it. I have to wait a whole year before applying again which bites due to that mandatory ya need health insurance whether you work or not.
Back to the pain. Symptoms include dull pain that came and went, at times intensified which was accompanied by nausea and sweating plus draining of color from the body. Managed to find a decent clinic though it was a bit of a drive from where I lived and after some testing and piddling in a cup, the results were blood in ze urine.
Possible diagnosis? a kidney stone or perhaps a urinary infection. The clinic sent the sample out for testing, I would not get the results for awhile.
Fuck me with a dildo from the sun why don't you >.<
Kidney stones alas run in the family. I had an aunt who had some removed years ago and my mother had to go to the hospital to have one "pass." We all know the stories behind the passing of stones. Hellish nightmares that some would consider childbirth to be less agonizing >.>
Considering I am not covered health wise, I opted to look up home remedies to combat the evil little shit making my left kidney (and me) miserable that afternoon.
Found one that worked out well and proceeded to use it to ease the pain. It involved lemons, olive oil and raw apple cider vinegar. Water too.
Fast forward to today and a follow up at the same clinic I went to Tuesday. They wanted another sample as the one they send in Tuesday came back negative for UTI. Which is a good thing. Gave them another sample and it came back clear. The doctor was baffled and I related my story as to what I did.
It amazes me that with all the medical technology and medicine we have, its insane that there are remedies out there that does not come in a pill or bottle that we can use to tend to most ailments and sicknesses.
The cleansing I perform and still perform will keep any future kidney stones from forming as I've read that those who have had one, tend to have more down the line.
Not on my watch.

Computer problems
Posted 11 years agoBrowsing the journals of various artists, its at least nice to know I'm not alone in the department. Unfortunately unlike them, I don't have the luxury of spending X amount with no limit.
My graphics card is dying. How can you tell, you ask? About a half week ago, whilst playing late one night, I heard a loud pop. A sound akin to a light bulb popping or balloon in terms of sound. What followed shortly after could only be described as something techy related burning or burnt.
At first I thought perhaps a tube in my monitor went, seeing as the thing is 9 years old, pushing 10. Its one of those bulky full screen types that resembles the T.V.s of old, not the newer modern flat screen variety.
But how can one tell if a bulb blow in a monitor? Color? pixels? Resolutions? I'm not a tech expert so I can't say for certain. All I can say however, is there has been no change in the visuals of said monitor. Moving on down, my computer was overheating as of late. So perhaps a new coat of thermal paste to the heat sink was in order. This was applied and the temperature reads normal.
How do I know it was the graphics card? It settles down to running Farmville 2. Yes I do play Zynga games outside of WoW, Hearthstone and on rare occasions SL. It came down to the duration of running FV2.
Normally, my computer can meet the specs needed to play the game. Now, though it runs for a couple of minutes maybe even more before my monitor switches to a horrid green screen with lines running vertically. The sight is close to being what happened when us old gamers would accidently nudge a NES cartridge in the system and the game would mess up, prompting a restart.
Which is what I had to do a couple of times, just to be sure it wasn't anything else like the motherboard or CPU.
So now with a limited budget I have to look into a new card.
Specs for the computer are as follows:
Processor: Intel Core CPU 6700 2.66 GHz
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Win 7 home edition
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon X1950 Series

Birthday
Posted 11 years agoWas almost two weeks ago. Did I do anything? No. Go anywhere? No. Do anything special? No.
So what did you do? Finish season 1 of Game of Thrones. Enjoyed a birthday dinner of home made lasagna since I haven't had any in years.
The joys of being poor. May is going to be fun... not. Have to pay for car insurance bill, then get insured again. smog the car with some STAR program attached and top it off with registration. All by June 14th.

Tornado warning
Posted 11 years agoSo to all of you out mid east, I'm guessing that when the news reported about the tornado warnings in NorCal, many of you were like "whoa... thats rare."
Yes it is extremely rare such warnings are listed. Given CA glorious geological make up, its nigh impossible for events such as hurricanes and tornadoes to be a thing of the norm.
Yet I'm also sure that due to all the junk screwing up the atmosphere, the laws are bent.
That said, the storm of Wedensday was a doozy. I live roughly 7 miles south of Roseville where the warnings were posted. While the rotation was a huge deal, thankfully nothing touched down.
Still it does leave one sitting on edge.

Posted 11 years ago*pops in looking as tanned as a person who spent a month in Hawaii*
I tan well.... very well in the sun. That's if I'm wearing sunblock so I don't crispify. But Mych, I'm sure some of you are asking, what are you doing out in the sun? Summer is months away.
Well luck finally decided to show favor. After 6+ months of job searching with little success, I finally landed one a week ago as a sign waver for a hair salon. I've not done sign waving since I was getting out of high school.
I worked with a friend who in turn worked for Kaufman & Broad. You know those fellas with them signs advertising new housing facilities out in the middle of no where? Yeah I did that for a few months.
So four days later and an angry face (my skin is none too pleased with constant application of sunblock, but I'd rather face that then sunburned) @.@ Tomorrow is my last full day before being shipped to part time. It's not bad. Wave a sign, attract customers, listen to music.

My thoughts on the PS4 and Xbox 1
Posted 12 years ago........
I have no thoughts on either, nor am I inclined a desire to own one or the other or both.
*points to PS 3*
I am content with this. I've had it for two years, one year spent out of order because being the reverse capability to play PS2 games, the laser lens broke down and not having any money at the time was unable to fix it until recently. Before I was given the PS3 I was content (and still am despite how old it is right now) my PS2. There are also a few number of games for the PS 3 I would like as well to play.
If there was one new system I would like it would be the Nintendo Wii. Reasons ranging that it will no longer be produced to there being a few number if games I would like to play and own.
Until I manage to become a filthy rich bastard, the PS4 is but a distant memory.
P.S. I find it humorous that console karma bit Sony when the PS4 had the "blue light of death" issue. :P

WHAT ARE THE ODDS?!
Last week, while heading out to warm up my car because I have not been driving it often, I manage by SHEER fricken luck to snag my right pinky toe on the rose hedge railing.
Sure enough I bend the poor thing so far, I swore I heard a snap! in there somewhere.
Lo comes the familiar pain I'm all too adversed in knowing. I'm pissed. No, I am beyond pissed, I am LIVID DX<
As if that week were not bad enough, my left knee decided to bitch at me one halloween party and I nearly killed myself while showering. Slipped and fell because my rough feet soles have no traction what so ever.

Why do we need toes again?
Posted 12 years agoSomething about keeping your balance, not falling on your face... I think.
My right foot picked a fight with my bed frame over the weekend. Guess who won?
My ring toe (as I've dubbed it, the second to last toe on ze feet) is busted. So I can say I've broken two bones in my body now. Both involving those set of toes where you can't do shit about it >:/
And it now looks like it went 10 rounds with Rocky.

Where doth the dragon flee to?
Posted 12 years agoSo I'm guessing some people are wondering where I've disappeared to, where I've dropped off the SL and RL earth to?
Anyone remember what I mentioned five years back? About moving in with my mother due to not making enough to live with a friend in Upland? And how I was fired a couple months later, wound up unemployed and went back to college? How things went down hill for the U.S. and everyone fled to college in hopes of improving their chances while mine hindered?
No?
Well that is the Cliff note's version. And now to wrap it up. Come January said parent had informed offspring and fellow siblings that over the course of a few years, she was planning on leaving the home we resided in and move to a small house, whilst we were to focus on our own future solo. January was announced that she would be moving and us kids were to look after ourselves since we are indeed mature enough to not rely on said parent.
Fast forward to June. Spring semester has ended, grades are in and half the house is packed and ready to go. Searching for a new living region has proven effortless as attempts to obtain a job that pays well. Ideas float around and one stands out to move far north and assist eldest sibling and wife financially given their situation involving a car accident a few years earlier.
Its July. The last two weeks of June was spent looking after a family boxer while owner and husband traveled to Oregon to visit family and assist with moving out to Kansas. Second week in July saw to looking after boxer and Uncle while Aunt and mother attend and annual family gathering out east. Which brings us to this past week. My eldest brother traveled down from Sacramento to assist (along with me and other siblings) my mother into her new apt in Upland, not far from where my friend used to reside until family matters saw him back to his old living quarters.
This past Sunday and Monday had me packing up my room and taking a 450+ drive from my old residence of Diamond Bar CA, to outside Sacramento Ca. to live with eldest brother and wife. Things are changing and I need to move forward if I'm going to make a living. That includes getting a job, finishing college at a decent pace and help whenever I can. As such hobbies like gaming and other activities are on hold. What becomes of my future. I can not say for certain. But there will be NO future for me, if I continue to live the way I had been doing for some time.
Which means less of me on SL, and sites such as this. Thus those who are close to me are going to have a harder time keeping in touch. E-mail is not too bad still so I recommend asking for it so as I do not slip from the face of your world once again.

I'm like old in stuff
Posted 12 years agoBirthday today.
How was it spent? College. Hence had a birthday dinner on Sunday since everyone I know was either working or doing something to day.
Turned out pretty good.
Dinner consisted of Pork roast with apple topping, garlic mashed potatoes made with sour cream and cream cheese. Fruit layered salad, cheddar bay biscuits.
Dessert was a apple danish cheesecake. Since these were recipes just sitting in our vast collection of cookbooks, figured what the heck, may as well give em a try.
Both the roast and cheesecake are keepers. Good stuff.
Gifts were a $25 gift card to the Cheesecake factory, a nice dragon shirt, pair of binoculars, spending money for a new comforter since the old one is dead and the Hobbit: An unexpected Journey. Oh yeah..
I also have in possession the ability to make Hostess Twinkies D: Baking dish, recipe, you name it >:D

Wedding
Posted 13 years agoYsterday was truly a wonderful day. It was the day my sister tied the knot with her long time boyfriend and married on a warm Saturday afternoon among friends and family. And while the celebration and reception that followed would bring memories to come, the week following up to the ceremony... well it was nothing less but crazy... or someone attempting to jinx us.
Where to begin...
Well I guess we could start with late Tuesday evening, early Wednsday morning when those two 4.5 earthquakes rocked the Yorba Linda region. A report later from new Zealand revealed a volcano that was dormant over a century "waking" up and proceeding with its eruption. Ok, ok you say, just typical earth functioning.
Well later that day, I learned from my eldest brother, his wife awoke with her left face completely swelled. Cause of the swelling was due to a bad tooth that needs to be removed when they manage to find the funds to make it doable.
Thursday. Running some last minute errands with mother and my other brothers, we were on the journey home after stopping by Cold Stone for a snack. We barely cross the on ramp when my mother's car, a Prius stalled. (Priuses stalling? MADNESS! you say! such things never occur upon those highly sophistamicated contraptions!)
Well it stalled and after a few attempts to get it into gear failed, we had to call Triple A and have it towed to the nearest mechanic station, which happened to be a Toyota dealership where my mom's Prius is maintained when needed. We had to arrange for a ride home, while we would have to wait the following day to learn the situation behind the stalling. Turns out that something overheated within the car, thus sparking the stalling. What was an unfortunate effect was when the Prius stalled, it blew oil. The oil wound up getting into the A/C unit, the carborator and the gas line. So, the mechanics had to purge the systems which wound up costing dearest mom $788 for the repairs @.@
(still think its just one of those days?)
Friday was the big bomb shell :/. My brother's wife and family were driving down from Sacramento to be with us in time for the rehersal and dinner. They left home 5:30 am that morning. They arrived at our home around 1:30 pm in the afternoon.
No sooner do they walk in the door and settle but for five minutes do they get a call. My brother's wife's son had called and mentioned they were stopping by their home to check up on their dog, Cooper. When they arrived, they found the back sliding glass door smashed in and the house burglarized....
My brother had his laptop stolen which was a birthday gift my family pitched in to get him over a year ago, along with his wife's laptop. As for the rest of the house it was ransacked. This was horrible news indeed and it was not pleasant to hear. My brother calmed his wife, cause she wanted to turn around and drive back home, after spending 8 hours of the road coming down here. He refused to allow her, given they had just taken a long trip, plus her neck and other ailments from her accident a few months earlier.
The family stayed up until today instead of monday. They had already contacted the police dept, up there and arranged for their house to be looked at along with sending a handy man over to cover the back door until their return.
The rehersal rolls around and all of us meet at the country club to go over the details of the ceremony. Close friends and family arrive for the 5:30 pm run and its about 20 total. I have an uncle who made it with his daughter and my grandfather. I learned from him that his PT cruiser, his car they were supposed to drive up in, clutch gave out. So that was stuck at my grandfather's residence and needs to be replaced. What makes this hurt more is he had replaced the belts and hoses in the vehicle a few weeks earlier.
I dare say this week has been indeed crazy and jinxing was in full swing. You can't say such events were just random in all can you?
The After life
Posted 13 years agoA peculiar dream that needs some sense making, if any could be made from it.
Couple nights ago, I had a dream.
We all died.
I find myself standing in what amounts to be a airport terminal setting. Countless faces, some recognizable, others un familiar appear out of nothing, drawn together in groups they feel comfortable with. Friends, family, strangers, every being is here.
Beings dressed as airport employees gather together certain groups, calling out names and determining their cause of death. The results are... unpleasant.
An apocalyptic disaster or nuclear war, it is undetermined what caused our end. All I remember one airport employee mentioning was a certain someone was fading quickly and should arrive to join this group I stood before.
All too quickly as these groups gather do they take separate paths. Faces fade among the crowds as I find myself at this "crossroad."
Last thing I remember is glancing out the window and see storm clouds gathering.
Strange is it not?

Un acceptable
Posted 13 years agoWhat was supposed to be only the greatest of all anticipation of Nolan's final movie in the epic trilogy,"The Dark Knight Rises" has been marred by some lunatic, who God only knows, decided to break into a packed theater during the midnight showing and open fire.

This is appalling beyond words and now we may forever wonder if theaters will be safe during midnight showings anymore thanks to this nut job >:/

Our turn
Posted 13 years agoI should not be entirely surprised that with all the quakes happening along the Ring of Fire over on the East side, our number would eventually be drawn from the lot.
Few quakes rocking along San Juan Capistrano a few weeks ago, then this morning, a 3.8 quake alone Devore. It was felt as south as Los Angeles as the reports go. Course being labled as "moderate" I'm not sure what the writers were on at the time.
5.0 is moderate.
3.8-4.1 is weak.

Birthday
Posted 13 years agoWas quiet today. Most of the time. The evening was spent with family down at BJ's. It was nice and the gifts were wonderful. All in all very good. Biggest gift of all will be the new Hard Drive I'll be getting for my computer. Then all I need to get is Windows and things will run smoothly once more.
Yaay.
    Yaay.
Car back
Posted 13 years agoGot the car back. And have a $835 burning hole left in my wallet.
$335 for the renewal fees (DMV loves to slap on penalty fees if your late.)
$100 in cash for the towing fee at the local police station (or how much the release form is to get your car back.)
$316 from the towing company that took my car ($124 for the initial hook up + 32 per day its in storage.)
$62 for the smog test.
Yeah. Thanks. Thanks alot you damn prick officers of walnut/diamond bar. So fucking bored, you tow poor folk's cars away for shyts in giggles. All for a $100 bucks and meeting your fucking quota. >:(

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFfffffffffff. . . . . . .
Posted 13 years agoI think you can pretty much sum up the rest.
I am having a Murphy's week it seems. The weekend saw me down with a sinus cold. Today feels like it is coming to an end, which you would think I would be happy about it and I am. But it seems said law was not finished with me.
My car, my only means of transport was impounded right OUTSIDE my own fricken home. And I didn't know about it until after a panicky call to 911 and a transfer to the local police station confirmed this. >:( No warning? No knocking on the door? Gawd damn you people.
So now I have to scrounge up what little money I can to pay a $355 registration fee on top of renewing my insurance, which I was force to run out cause of being tight on money. And just for shyts in giggles, I need to get my car smogged on top of all this BEFORE I can pay the registration fee and get it out of the impound which is going to cost me $100 plus $35 PER day.
How the hell am I gonna get my car smog if its behind bars?
Gawd Fecking Damn.... >:(
Oh and I wind up smashing my fingers in a car door, borrowing a friends car just to get to work.

What will you leave behind?
Posted 13 years agoIf your life came to an abrupt end.....
What would others think of you? What would they say on your wall?
What if no body knew of your passing?
How would they cope with your loss?
A morbid thought, I know. It's not something many people want to consider given how young many still are.
Life is too precious. In a blink of an eye, everything can change, be twisted and turned upside down.
Those who remember us are left to pick up the pieces, to carry on their lives to the best of their ability.
Would we continue to be remembered? Or lost over time like so many before us?

Think ah dun made it worse.
Posted 13 years agoSo after some feedback, one person suggested re-loading windows completely.
So I try this, seeing as things can't get any worse.
4 hours later (wonder if the long installing time was another dead giveaway)
with the same results. Only now I got the blue screen of. . .you know >.>
Anyone know what Umountable_Boot_Volume means?

Disaster...in a technical sense.
Posted 13 years agoAs if today was not hard enough as it was, I was dealt a technical blow that set me back :/
My computer an Xmas gift that was given from a friend over a year ago upped and re-booted on me mid afternoon for no reason. Soon after I was greeted with a screen that read like this,"Windows was unable to run due to software or hardware complications." Even with the possible choices I was given, none would work, for the moment Windows would try to run, the computer would shut down and re-start once more.
So I am back on an old model that I've had for years. Being broke and unable to fix things like these bothers me :(
