🎦 Thoughts on recent media
General | Posted a week agoAfter spending a week with
while he was visiting and going through as many films and shows as possible, here are my rankings on all that we've watched.
1. Zootopia 2 (rewatch)
I've already seen it and made a journal about it, but
hasn't so we watched it at my place. Great movie, Gary was awesome, Pawbert was annoying.
2. Hoppers
The only thing I didn't like was my experience at the theater cuz two people behind us kept cackling so loud I could barely hear the film, and they had that volume at full blast. Regardless, pretty great film, they could have done a bit more with the concept of people "Hopping" from a human body to a robot animal's. Overall, I really liked the message of the film and had a good laugh at all the funny moments. This one I would recommend going to see if you haven't yet!
3. Big Bad Fox and Other Tales...
Found this while going through movies to watch. It was very cute, the British voice acting was funny, I liked the animation and art style; it was very charming. Really, for a movie with three separate stories packed into one movie, it wasn't bad, and I had zero complaints.
4. Super Mario Galaxy Movie
This is where I get a little conflicted with my opinion of this film. I didn't hate it, but it kinda lacked the same vibes the first movie had. Fox McCloud was a fun cameo to watch and there were a lot of fun moments and easter eggs. Pretty okay movie!
5. Beastars Final Season part 2
I was really invested in the final season up until the last episode, it kinda felt like it ended abruptly with only one major plotline resolved, the others were kind of abandoned? I still enjoyed the entire series regardless.
6. GOAT
This one is bottom-ranked, probably due to one major factor: I'm not really into sports. But besides that, I wasn't really invested in the characters, and Jett in particular, felt like a character we were supposed to care about but came across to me as really dry and uninteresting. I liked the visuals; they did not miss on those!
But that's really about it.

🔍 Random discovery
General | Posted 4 weeks agoI just found out that FA has different site themes. I'm liking the current one I'm using (Retro Dark) 10x better than the classic.
Quite random but just wanted to share xD

👀 Big Plans | Life Update
General | Posted a month agoSo, after some time spent reflecting on things, I've decided on some plans that I wanna post about here:
I may return to Bluesky afterall, but I want to make sure that when and if I do, it's under the condition which I'm now setting for myself that I don't start overanalyzing people's posts and follower count and compare myself to them, as this has made me spiral and lose friends. I want to make sure that I maintain a healthy balance on social media. There is a big reason I wish to return to Bluesky, aside from reconnecting with friends, etc.
I'm planning to stream on Twitch semi-regularly, and I figured it wouldn't hurt to have a platform to advertise it on. At the moment, I plan on running a Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask combo Randomizer, which should take a bit of time to finish (essentially, this is a randomizer that merges both Ocarina and Majora into one, and items are shuffled between games, which adds some complexity in completing the randomizer). Alongside that, I'm considering doing a Let's Play of Ocarina of Time on YouTube using the Ship of Harkinian PC Port, followed by the Majora's Mask equivalent (2Ship2Harkinian). It won't always be Legend of Zelda or Randomizers, but it's something I'd like to start with.
I don't plan to make it big on Twitch tbh, just wanna casually stream when I can, but if I gain a few extra followers and have an active chat, that would be a welcome bonus!
Another major thing I want to get back into is posting more of my own art; it's something I've kinda slept on for a while, and I figured I'd start drawing for people again. IDK when I'll start opening up for paid commissions, as I wanna feel confident in my ability to sell something worthwhile before I take that leap. ATM, I'm working on my updated refsheet; then I may commission a few artists here and there, probably not as often as I did in the past. It'll mainly be very few high-quality art pieces rather than a large abundance of mediocre art this time around, and some shared art with friends.
IDK when these changes are going to take place, but I'm hoping that come April, I can start doing all the things I enjoy again and more. Just a matter of clearing up some errands I have and making sure I can maintain a stable connection with the streaming.
That's pretty much it!

📽 My Thoughts on Zoo 2
General | Posted 4 months agoSo, I watched Zootopia 2 this last Monday and loved it. I went with three of my friends to see it.
I might've missed the first five minutes of the film since my pals and I were cramming for time when we got to the theater. But from what I saw, it was a good expansion on what makes the first film what it is. Nick and Judy are well-written and developed as characters, the humor is clever, and I could go on for hours about why I love Gary D'Snake so much.
It was nice seeing Ke Huy Quan land yet another big screen role after Everything Everywhere All At Once (please go watch that it's such a good movie) and years after appearing in Indiana Jones and The Goonies. Honestly, Gary carried the whole film for me. I do not understand the appeal for Pawbert (maybe to some extent, but he still sucks xD). Other side characters gave me a good laugh, ngl.
Definitely going to grab me a Blu-Ray copy when it comes out!
Also, I wanna talk about the post-credits. Spoilers, you have been warned.
BIRBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

⛔ Deactivated Bluesky
General | Posted 4 months agoAfter reading my last journal, I now realize that I didn't actually follow through with my plan to unplug from social media.
I decided to indefinitely deactivate my Bluesky account for the sake of my mental health. I think what got me to finally kickstart that decision was having a really bad falling out with a once-good friend. I was the one who destroyed the friendship. I'm now using this time away to become a better person.
I cannot say when or if I'll be back. It could be months to a year. I need to focus on my personal relationships, my career, my writing projects, all that.
Sites outside of Bluesky will have minimal usage. FA if I have art to post, Telegram/Discord to keep in touch with pals.

Unplugging from socials for a while | Life update: 10/4/2025
General | Posted 7 months agoAfter some thought, I've decided it's time to deactivate all my socials and unplug from the internet for a while. Being online and trying to maintain friendships has become exhausting and unhealthy to the point where I started distrusting some of my closest friends. I couldn't help but notice that my follower count on Bluesky and watch count on FA are slowly dropping; meanwhile, many of my friends are the complete opposite, with some of them even ghosting me more often, leading me to think I'm too irrelevant for them. I realize this way of thinking is unhealthy, and over-obsessing with it only sends me down a rabbit hole I cannot climb out of. Unplugging and reconstructing myself is the best thing for me to do right now.
Aside from that, things in my offline social life have been great; my local fur friends are actually some of the best people I've hung with in so long, they actually make me feel like I belong, unlike some of the ones online.
Normally, I'd post a link to my journal on my Bluesky so it'll reach more people, but I just can't bring myself to look at my activity on there, seeing my friends do better than me and feeling ignored is too painful for me to bear. I just want this to be found by anyone who stumbles on it.
I'm gonna keep my accounts active for a little bit longer, but don't expect me to use them too much. My DM's are open as always, and I might keep my Telegram around since it's primarily how I keep in touch with my local friends. Discord is a bit up in the air atm, I do use it for messaging, but with all of the servers I'm in, it might become too distracting for me if I keep it.
I'm gonna think everything over before I commit to it. We'll see how things go in the coming months.

Life Update | July 2025 (even tho it's technically June)
General | Posted 10 months agoIt's been a while, so I thought I'd hit you with a life update. Quite a bit has happened since the last one.
I finally graduated from college, so that's a relief off my shoulders, now I'm currently trying to recover from all the college chaos before I find a job. Most of my close friends know what happened, but I'll breif you on it here, I made the mistake of letting an online friend crash with me for a week during my last month of school and they completely disrespected any and all boundaries I had laid out, long story short, I cut all contact from them once they left my apartment. Thankfully, I had much better friends come visit me from Winnipeg during their road trip; it was around the same week as my graduation, funnily enough. Now I'm planning to hit up a fur meet in Halifax and hopefully run into some of my other good friends, never been to one but I'm sure it'll be fun. I need that escapism right now due to some political nonsense, won't name any names here, but some people need to grow a backbone before they should be allowed to lead a country. If that wasn't bad enough, I'm still trying to fully process the death of Mikayla Raines (Founder of SaveAFox), who took me by surprise when I heard about it. I didn't sleep for a few nights due to how messed up I was. I think I'm on the road to recovery at this point. First, it was my grandmother who passed in April, then Mikayla, so a lot of recent deaths kind of crept up on me after that incident with the online friend. Currently, I'm in a good enough place that I can focus solely on preparing for that Halifax trip, then maybe I can get back into some old hobbies I pretty much had shelved for a while.
In other news,
and I have been going hard on Stardew recently, so that's been fun. It's also his birthday as I'm writing this so wish him a happy bday!
That's pretty much it.
Take care 💛

🌷 Rest in peace, Dragoneer
General | Posted a year ago(some of this is copy-pasted from bsky with added text)
As much as I wish I could be active online rn, there's just so much processing and grieving to do on account of Neer's passing that I won't be for a while, I never knew him at all, I don't recall if we've ever spoken, but from everything I knew of him, he was a nice guy, he deserved better, I wish his family well and they get closure to such an awful situation. Nobody deserves what he went through, I just wish things could have turned out differently. After seeing all of the stories and tributes to Neer from all of his friends and acquaintances, I can tell he meant a lot to so many people. My DM's will be open to my closest friends while I'm offline, I know we're all going through it, so maybe I'll feel less alone if anyone wants to message me. I've never experienced loss in such a way to someone I didn't personally know well, but he did so much for all of us that I can't imagine life without him. As much I wish I knew what this meant for the future of FA, I know now is not a good time to discuss it, it should be left up in the air at this time, I'm sure we'll get all of our answers when the time is right. 🌷 Rest in peace, buddy. Your endless contributions to FA and the community will forever be cherished. We love you.

💼 A brief life update
General | Posted 2 years agoSo, I secured a studio apartment around mid-May and got a few things moved into it, though, I can't say for sure that I'm feeling it quite yet, namely because the neighborhood is rundown and littered with drug addicts, and the whole street reeks of cannabis, it doesn't give me the piece of mind that I had hoped for. That said I'm giving it maybe a month before I decide if it's right for me. Aside from that, I've been planning my PC build in the meantime, I'm just waiting for one more part to get here before I start building it with my friend's help (since I'm God-awful at that sort of stuff lol). After, like, 2-3 years of trying to get a PC but not being able to secure most of the parts due to limited supply (I started planning this build around COVID so the timing was bad on my end), I finally got to it. I'll post updates about it once my setup is put together. Also, I plan to redesign my character soon, which I'm excited for, just thought I'd mention it here.

This talented artist has been struggling to find any takers for their work and quite frankly I think they deserve more recognition. Check it out if you're interested!

General | Posted 3 years agoAs of April 15th, 2023 I am no longer using Twitter nor will I be using it in the near future.
Instead, I will be migrating to an alternative site. It probably goes without saying, but the Musk takeover has gotten atrocious, I would not recommend going on there right now. I will be active elsewhere as per usual so nothing has drastically changed in that field. Take care!

this just helps me stay organized ^^it's very empty...
💬 Created a Telegram Channel
General | Posted 5 years agoHey! I know it's been nearly forever since I last posted anything on here. That's going to change eventually, I'm just trying to get things sorted out with myself before I start fully using social media again.
Anywho, I made a Telegram channel so it'll be easier to keep track of commissioned art that I get, as well as in the case I forget to upload anything on here, overall I just find Telegram to be faster.
