Furry Ideas
General | Posted 9 years agoI want to draw something furry related but I can't think of anything.
And if I were to draw pornographic content with my fursona I still don't have one to cast as the male actor. :'c
It'd take a lot of time and effort to make a male suitor for me penguina. I don't even know what animal to consider. Maybe you peeps can help me with that? c:

Concept Art: Discussion
General | Posted 9 years agoThough it's one of my favorite things to do it can be incredibly hard when it comes to putting all of the pieces together. Perhaps this is the reason why I will never want to birth a child- I've already spent a lot of time and effort on thousands of characters trapped inside my head.
From the style of their hair, to the shape of their face. Even their body type and how they appear wearing certain clothes. It's incredibly difficult for me to figure out how to draw someone, say for example, a character I encountered in a dream. How do I know someone with that sort of face exists? Looking things up on the internet is only easy when it has a name or category and assuming you don't get boggled down by irrelevant search results.
The theory is that, if you learn to draw the skeleton/muscle, you can draw the person. No. At least, not for me, I can't. It helps me understand how to flesh it out a little more (literally) but it doesn't allow me to create my own unique face. Maybe I'm just misunderstanding something, but it doesn't tell me why or how a skull gets to be the shape that it is? Kinda like how people poke at pieces of metal and it somehow makes a computer. Now I'm just making my head hurt...
My frustration with this, is because of the perspective. Sure he/she looks attractive at this angle, but what about the 'other angles'... You know... the ones that may or may not make them look like a randomly generated character in Oblivion.
My question to anyone out there: How do you go about the concept process? Know of any random resources or key words?

Q and A : Ask Me Anything
General | Posted 9 years agoI know people probably don't have questions, but I'll leave them here in case it helps answer somebody's question(s) someday!
Q: Program?
A: Paint Tool Sai. Photoshop is primarily used for fonts or converting files into a proper (backgroundless) PNG.
Might consider Manga Studio in the future, if I feel confident enough to even try and produce Manga. I'm mostly intrigued by the thing that makes drawing comic squares easier. That's something I desperately need in my life...
Q: Tablet?
A: Wacom Intuos Pro (Small) ($400 CA)
I have tried many in the past. From the basic, cheapest Wacoms to off brands like Ugee. If you want my recommendation, stick with Wacom , and make sure to get the tablet with 2000 pressure sensitivity. It doesn't seem like the other off-brand tablets are on the right page (I.E accomodating left handed use and making pens that aren't battery powered). My one time experience with Ugee was a nightmare- to the point where I might have been scammed if it wasn't through Amazon. But that's another story for another time. Just stick with Wacom for now. :')
Q: How long does it take?
A: If it's a full scene, or involves multiple characters, it can easily take up to 12 hours, most in which are spent correcting nine thousand mistakes. I wish i knew how to put at high quality stuff (mine being mediocre at best) at a faster rate. Maybe they have more free time than I do. ];< *jelly*
Q: Tutorials?
A: If anyone is ever interested, I wouldn't mind trying to figure out a day to discuss and give private lessons one on one. Though I'm no where near pro and consistent, maybe just seeing the process will help to unlock something you've been struggling on. The only thing I ask is that you have a mic and Skype so that we can better communicate. I can also share my screen instead of doing a stream.
I might make video tutorials in the future, if I can first find a program capable of handling it. I've tried many. Cam studio doesn't work- it lags terribly and the color wheel looks like someone died in MS paint and the newest one I've tried, crashes harder than Windows Movie Maker.
Feel free to ask any questions you may have, art related or otherwise!
