COMMISSION CHANGES
Posted 12 years ago
I'm going to be swapping over commissions to a "by journal" format instead of using the singular journal I was!
Why? Because it's a lot easier to maintain!
I'll be making a commission price sheet tonight. I am increasing the price a little because this new style is more time consuming!
That being said, the current lot:

Coming to the end of my current sketch batch ~ want to get the word out there for more!
Been developing my new colouring style recently, these sketches are really helping me improve for the bigger pieces.
In light of this, going to open up for 3 sketchs!
£17.50 each for something like these:[/b]

Muscle, pin ups, whatever I normally draw.
If you're interested, say here and we'll discuss! Hoping some of you new watchers will want something

"help replace the luggage I lost" COMMISSION SALE! (CLOSED)
Posted 12 years ago
SO! I've been a bit of a twat recently and lost my luggauge on the train the other day...
NOTHING TOO SERIOUS!
A few day's worth of clothing and toiletries, thankfully not my uber important shit.
But it still means I need to replace it somehow.
So, while I've got a bit of a window in major commissions, I'm gonna open up for 5 sketch slots.
Same drill as the last lot, £17.50 each for something like these:
1 | 2 | 3
THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE HULKING/RIPPED! I draw normal people too :V
Pinups, generic poses, muscle poses ~ whatever you want folks as long as it's in my "stuff I'll draw", I'll draw it

Artistic Growth and Experimentation
Posted 12 years ago
Recently, I feel like my art style's fallen in to a bit of a rut and I'm having some trouble breaking out of it.
It's primarily in my colouring style, I feel that it's just hit a wall and is going nowhere fast.
I've had people tell me "but your colouring style is fine!"; fine is good and all, and I am happy with where it's at~
But there's a difference between being happy and complacency, a good artist should never be too complacent with their work!
I want to try experimenting with new things!
So, anyone know of any good tutorials for PaintTool SAI?
Heck, it can even be one you made yourself, I just want to try some new colouring styles dissimilar to my own~
Primarily, I want to try the more "digital painting style"
I'd also like to try replicating the effect you get on 8mm/super 8 film, that sort of burnt-out, hazy look~
Kind of what LIMBO did for their art style, making things look very dark and atmospheric!
(Though most of the tutorials I've found for "Limbo art style" have been lacking...)
I'd even be grateful for some critique from folk ~ I love compliments, as does any artist, but they can only tell you what you're good at.
You need all sides of an argument to truly appreciate a solution and all.
Any feedback would be appreciated
Expect a few experimental pieces real soon!
Art Raffle, Comission Cats, and Zombie 'Yotes
Posted 12 years ago
So my friend
is doing an art raffle in anticipation of opening for commissions!
You can find said raffle journal HERE
If you're not watching her already, do so!
She's a talented artist and a lovely person too~
I'd also like to point out another friend of mine you should be watching if you aren't already.
Expert in all things macarbe, glowy, and mosnterish
The one, the only
!
Go, give her gallery loves! She's severely underappreciated!
That's about all for now! Still working away on current comissions my end,
Should add that I managed to snag myself some work experience recently may even lead on to a job!
Until then, stay safe people of the world~

Muscle Sketch Commissions [For Future Notice]
Posted 12 years ago
So I have a few large art projects to do for some of you folk that I'm working on right now.
But as I found with Kodi's one large projects need to be broken up some, that's why I'm going to be offering a few smaller "rough" commission inbetween bigger projects to make the process easier on myself and so I can produce the best outcome.
So, I asked my twitter followers who would be interested in some muscle sketcheslike this one.
I got a very good response to the proposal and already have a few lined up for inbetween working on this current larger project.
Currently I have given slots to:

(You lot can contact me if you want to revoke this slot before you've paid)
But that's ALL I'm giving out at the moment!
Can't take on too many extra things or nothing will ever get done.
However I did want to make it known I will be doing these in the future too.
So if you have £17.50 spare when I next open and want a drawing of your dude or dudette all buffed up and rawry, keep an eye out for the next one!
Until then, monsterwolf out!

I wanted to find out who else is going along too ~ it'll be both of our first time going to a big convention like AC and I wanted to see who we can meet up with while we're there.
It'd be awsome to meet a few new people in the flesh
And finally...

Okay... so remember how I said I'd get back to art soon?
Posted 12 years ago
The day is April 23rd
Last week on Wednesday 17th of April I handed in my report and final presentation slides for my entire final year project which spanned from October last year to not two weeks ago.
Had first group meeting for a presentation that is to be presented Friday 4th of April
Abstract of our presentation needs to be in by Thursday 25th of April (this thursday, we've only just sat down to start)
The actual presentation of my final year project is also on the 25th
2000 word essay on the same topic as the afformentioned group project in for May 10th.
First exam is on May 13th, after that I have at least one exam a week until June 4th.
Then it's finally over.
And I can get back to art again...
I came in to univesrity wide-eyed and "omg science is cool!" - I think Carl Sagan said it right in that we're all born with a curioisity for science and it's slowly beaten out of us by society.
I can unfortunately say I've well and truly had the love of science beaten out of me to the point I'm repulsed by the thought of continuing in the subject any further.
It's another one of these turning points, figuring out what I want to do from here on on and all - so this silence is going to continue for a while I'm afraid.
Only one of you has a commission in the works right now... he knows he's welcome to a refund if he feels it's been too long in waiting.
The problem is, if I sit down to draw I lose time on something else, and I already procrastinate enough as it is!
I've had my lovely girl and my fantastic friends keeping me sane these past few weeks/months when it's all been coming to a climax.
Three years finally over and I can go live the life I want...
So until then FA, I don't think you'll be seeing much art out of me aside the occasional doodle I get done on a train somewhere when I'm not falling asleep.
Stay safe

She's opening up for commissions ~ go get one before they're all gone!

Tiff's got a lovely cartoony style and can get work done real quickly.
This is her first time with commissions but I'm sure she'll deliver in whatever you ask her for

Final Project Reivew [Uni Getting in the Way Again]
Posted 12 years ago
Essentially, my dissertation.
Due April 18th along with some retarded essay afterwards.
I hope you all understand where I've been recently.
This final year of university is... demanding.
The second I'm out the other side of all this I'll be making a marked effort to get back to art.
Until then, I can't and won't make any promises.
Stay safe and stay well~

Stupid-Good Offer For a Stupid-Good Cause

So a week or so ago I wrote about
needing some spare dorrah for her new car.
They're only a little bit short, and she's trying to raise some funds.
http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4310543/
Her art pack is a stupidly cheap deal; personally I want to slap her for selling it so low!
If you're looking for some art go to her!
She's a really talented aspiring artist and won't let you down with quality!
Click, Snap, Break [Art Hiatus]
Posted 12 years ago
TL-DR: Eda's taking a break from new commissions, don't wait about.
I hate to be one of 'those' guys right now, but I need a break from commitment.
Or... to be more precise, adding more commitment to my plate.
Essays, exams, dissertations, life-issues in general.
All getting a little bit strung up and out of place recently.
I'm being left feeling like a cassette tape that got chewed up some and stuck right back in the player.
Not properly unwound/rewound and playing back all wrong.
So, in light of this, I'm not going to be taking on any new commissions for a while.
That may be until after university.
The people who have currently paid will have their stuff finished the second I am done with these essays.
(post-Wednesday the 13th at the latest I will re-start on them)
Those who have slots but haven't been asked to pay, you'll keep those slot, I just won't be starting on them for a while.
Those owed gift, I'm still going to do those.
I sat down the other day in some five minutes I had to myself and tried to draw something for someone special to me,
I had a blank page in front of me for that time thinking "how do I art again?".
I've gotten rusty, unimaginative and slow.
I end up getting frustrated and restarting 80% of what I can get down on the page,
And what's started to occur to me is I've not done any "complete" personal art for ages!
I need "me" time, time to get back in to the groove I've lost.
I'm living to impress examiners and make these last three years worth the time and six-figure debt right now.
I just want to live for myself some more.
Now before this generates any concern, I'm alright.
A bit stressy, a bit fragile, but all's well.
I just need to gain a solid grip on life again before it runs away from me.
This sucks because I like drawing for others but I can't honestly take any more money knowing I may not complete the piece until months later.
(and I'm truly appreciative to the one person this has happened to)
(his patience with me has been such a fucking gods-send recently)
Becuase I like putting stuff out there, when I get some time I will start uploading some unfinished personal work.
Said I would in the past, forgot to completely.
Also will start uploading my own commissions to my scraps, because I like promoting awesome artists
So, that's the latest from me,
Thanks for taking the time to read~

2013's Aims
Posted 12 years ago
Yep, this is my one of 'those' obligitory New Year's journals.
7 days late, fuck the police and all that!
I'm not going to do resolutions or goals this year, why?
As a friend put it, they're too absolute and you end up avoiding them because they're so inflexible.
I let myself go a little over the winter break, getting back to bad habbits.
And now I'm left in a particuly foul mood this morning at how badly I did let myself go.
(no I'm not looking for sympathy saying that)
So, as of today, being the first monday of 2013 where I wasn't guzzling a bottle of sourz, here's my aims for the year and onward.
Lose some bodyfat.
Keep at weight training.
Stay ontop of all course work.
Leave University with at least a 2.1.
Find more time for art.
Be more prompt with commissions.
Beat off the bad moods more often.
2012 was a weirdly bittersweet year for me; it finally started to sink in how much I'd lost and how much I'd gained.
I'm on my way to better habbits, after nearly 18 years of listening to parents argue and not having enough responsibility/control over my own life finally, FINALLY as I'm about to hit 21 in just over a month and leaving education this year am I getting out of the ignorant childish mindset and in to something more refined.
Someone I want to be, not someone I'm told to be.
Yeah, people say don't lose your inner child. To be honest? I hate children, and I don't like the child I was.
I hope I can continue to bring you lot some interest with my art.
I've said I'll do a lot of things in the past few years I've failed to.
Promises broken, projects forgotten, arrangement pushed to one side.
I'm not going to let that happen this year and onwards;
I'm sick of saying sorry, so I'm not going to make promises.
Things will be done when they're done, I've yet to be told I've been unreasonable with making people wait.
If I have, well it's their fault for not speaking up.
Hope the new year found you all well!
I only partly remember mine
Looking forward to whatever 2013 throws at me!
Bring on the battle!

Busy Times
Posted 12 years ago
Over the past few weeks it's became rather obvious I've got a few essays to get through before the first two months of next year are up.
It's do-able, I just don't think I'm going to be very active on here for a while.
I've spoken to those of you who I currently owe art to about this, again I'm deeply sorry for this wait - I will try to get you in where I can.
They're expecting us to be in the lab 24/7 as well as do these essays when I get back to uni.
So where I will have free time I'm liable to be dead.
Though I will try to fit some drawing in where I can.
I HATE doing a bad job on someone's piece because I'm feeling rushed - I like to think I've never done a disappointing piece so far.
Refunds are always available, will never argue that.
Thank you all for your patience

Christmas Commission Open & Plant Cancer
Posted 12 years ago
Why plant cancer?
Because it's what I do at university!
Speaking of which, I'm free until January 7th!
Know what that means?
Time for me to go back to being an art slave!
Yaaayyy.... ;^;
In all seriousness, Christmas break is here and I plan to crack on with some artwork.
Many of you for christmas got a commission voucher from me, if you forgot though here's a list:
Raze1984
Sickle
Rebby
Gallifreyan
Ziegenbock
FlammieOtter
kai-llewellyn
thorphax
FenrirKar
Drayygon &
Slushy~Pye
Camrath &
SkyeKitty
They work like normal commissions, only they cost less!
CLAIM ON THEM AS AND WHEN YOU WANT!
There's no time limit to them or expiriy date.
Just remember I don't take on a huge number of projects at once.
I have to actually live some too ;^;
(oh and there's essays I have to do as well yeah...)
I'm open for commission from anyone by the way, not just this lot.
If you want artwork done just send me a note as per norm.

And it hurts like a bitch...
And I can't open my mouth properly...
And my normal dentist is miles away...
And the NHS can't get me an appointment today unless I'm dying...

Work is progressing as normal.
New commissions are closed for the moment because I'm working on people's christmas presents.
(However you're still welcome to note me if you have interest in one)
Uni work is tiring but what isn't in life?
Hope you're all well out there in the world!

Digital Commissions Closed / Off to Slay the Dragon
Posted 13 years ago
It's getting to that time of year when I've settled fully from the holidays and the concept of academia is looming over.
Deadlines are on the horizon now, it feels somewhat like running towards some big gloomy tower and eventually climbing it.
Keep your fingers crossed I'll make it to the top.
With this in mind, I'm closing slots to any NEW digital commissions for the remainder of the month.
So that includes digitally coloured/shaded pieces and reff sheets.
Why is this? Because I need to use my 'work time' on the computer to start focusing on essays and extra reading instead of drawing.
Honestly I love drawing, but I'm spending a lot of time getting things finished up digitally instead of working.
That, and there's a few personal projects I want to get done that have been shelved for too long as well as Christmas presents.
(I'm still working on the existing commissions by the way, not taking an absence or anything like that)
Now, while work may stop me working on digital things I still find myself with a lot of spare time to do traditional work.
I've had a few people interested in traditional pieces from me in the past, but nothing compared to the interest in digital pieces.
I only do black & white pieces traditionally because I'm not very confident with traditional colouring methods.
If I had more time I'd practise more, as is I'm trying to improve my pencil work mainly.
So, if you're interested in a traditional commission they're £20 each for something like this:
http://www.furaffinity.net/view/9100374/
Which is just sketch, outline, and shading pricing times the multiplier for additional characters
Now that the buisness-esk update it out of the way, here's the life update.
As I said, deadlines are starting to settle in on me and I'm starting to map out the playingfield for university.
The strategy to beat this year is slowly coming together for me, slower than I would have liked but still there.
I said to a friend of mine once I like to view education as a dungeon from a game,
Each test a boss battle before the final bosses at the end during exam periods.
This is the final year, this is the heroic version of this dungeon, and we've got to hit at it solo.
In a few minutes from now I'm going to be getting on my bike after cramming down lunch and trying to get a little bit more of this commission done.
I'm going to cycle in to university, lock my bike up, and go meet my professor for my very first session in the lab,
In there, I'm going to be expected to read a protocol, and do something rather menial;
For those of you who've worked in biology at all, I'll more than likely be mixing MS media for tissue cultures.
After that, the difficult curve will go up and up and up and up.
Leaf cuttings to agrobacterium transformations, to making my very own plasmid constructs.
I'll be altering the very blueprint of these plants to test a theory, catching their offspring and implanting new information into them on how to grow and develop.
I'll be doing what I've wanted to do for a very long time, experiment with the fundamentals of the thing that makes this world so amazing and weird, life it's self.
I'm excited, but I'm also scared.
I bet you never thought you'd hear that out of the mouth of a monster like me eh?
But I am well and truly shitting myself.
This man has got his work published in one of the biggest books going out there for finding out something truly amazing.
How two species of plants with around 130million years of evolutionary divergence between them one managed to re-create the biological pathways of another when given a part of the other.
How one managed to take the characteristics of another and work with it, without a brain to understand or even a nervous system to react.
Only the automatic cellular processes, no better than chemicals thrown into flasks just more elaborately segmented.
For me, that's kind of inspiring as to what life can do.
This is why I do science.
I'm scared I'm going to let this down, scared I'm not going to be of any help.
This is the real test of nearly 21years of me figuring out what I want to do.
From wanting to explore the Amazon or deep sea trenches as a wee pup.
To wanting to be an illustrator in college and having my step-father say I wouldn't amount to anything.
To sticking at science for the past three years of my life, even though bad things have happened, even though I've failed in a few of the tests, even though I've wanted to pack it in and give up at points.
Twenty One whole years of the existence of one single multi-cellular lifeform coming to a peak dictated by the collective conscious of society and the world's view of an individual.
There's an open door ahead of me, but I've got to cross it first, and for that I'll need to prove myself.
When all is done, and I've done the few tasks set to me today.
I'll cycle back home, I'll finish off my workout, I'll cook up dinner and I'll sit down to some games, a chat with some friends, and a little more work on these imaginary characters I paint out on digital canvases so I can help bring the dreams of others to life.
Only to get an early rest so I can wake up a 6:50 and be ready to listen to a man who thinks he's better than me for an hour drone on about the philosophy of science.
Anyway, sorry for the long journal folks.
I always put the business part first so you don't have to slog through the philosophical crap
Hope you're all well out there, thanks for all the love and support for my little doodles.
