What's a journal? ...oh, this thing!
Posted 15 years ago Yeah... I don't update much. Have you noticed?
Anyway. As I'm sure you've all been pleased to see by this point, I've been posting a few pictures of Duino to my gallery today. I decided it was high time I get some more art of him under my username, for the purpose of setting up an archive for easy access to anyone who wants to gaze upon his glorious visage. Is it working? It should be working.
I've got a good bit submitted and have a few more to go once I get artist confirmation, so I hope you guys don't mind seeing me in your inboxes a few more times! Otherwise it's going to be a disappointing time for you over the next few days...

Got a Hot Update Tonight
Posted 15 years ago I should have saved this for Friday... at least then I could have said I had a "date" of some kind... Ah, well.
charlieretriever really wanted me to update this journal, so per his request, here we go!
At the moment I'm watching the Spongebob episode "Wet Painters." You know, the one where Patrick and Spongebob paint Mr. Krabs' house? You back when Spongebob was actually funny? Fun fact: Spongebob has been on the air for twelve years. Another fun fact: it hasn't been funny for at least five of them. It's an interesting pattern- right after the movie came out, the quality in the episodes got a lot worse. The art style changed and there were a lot more "gross jokes," which are never funny, and the show really lost its flavor for me. Spongebob will continue to be a cultural icon for years to come for sure, which is a good thing, so long as its for the older stuff. I'll never get tired of the "eager face" from "Band Geeks."
At least the contemporary cartoon stuff isn't totally devoid of greatness. In the midst of a live-action Cartoon Network- which is a travesty, because a network that showed the brilliant Dexter's Lab and Samurai Jack has Dude, What Would Happen? on primetime a decade later, but I digress- Adventure Time and Regular Show refuse to disappoint. Some episodes have been better than others, but both shows have plenty of rewatch value, and not to mention are extremely quotable. And as a TV nerd, I find that appealing.
And in the realm of video games... Persona 3. Great game, or greatest game?
The combat itself suffers from the classic RPG problem of repetition, and I sometimes get really confused about what Personas I have and what they can do, but both of those are just pet peeves that stem from Pokemon experience. The game itself is an RPG player's wet dream- everything you do benefits you in some way, and best of all, unlike other games where those activities are largely text-based, the plethora of subplots are interesting and refreshing. Anyone looking for a good RPG to log a ton of hours into, I definitely recommend picking this title up.
I suppose that's all I have to say for now... Not a lot of interesting things to report on, since the Common App is running my life right now. But, "The Krusty Krab Training Video" is starting up, so I'mma got watch that. See you guys in another two months!

Rambled Musings
Posted 15 years ago So I'm coming up on the end of my tenth day as a member of FA... A whole 240 hours have passed already? Wow. That explains why I haven't gotten any work done in over a week. But I've already gotten to fifteen watchers- fifteen more than I expected to have, anyway- and I might as well give you guys something to read. Or at least false hope in your messages, since haha! You thought this would be interesting...
Well, actually, in news that might fit that description, I've set up an art trade with a non-furry but supportive friend of mine, where she's going to draw a slew of stuff for me and I'm going to be doing some writing for her. I've gotten her permission to post the stuff here so my (fictional) adoring public can see some of Duino as I actually use him: in the cartoonish situations and scenarios I love so much. I'm not sure just when she'll be finished with everything I've put on her plate, but I'd estimate it'd be pretty soon. I've also got some story ideas in the works, so there'll be a fresh batch of things you all can say "tl;dr" to soon enough.
I've talked about this with a few people already, but just to get it out there, here's a thought: I know the term "furry" is universal and I define myself by it, but it bothers me slightly that as a duck, I don't have fur. So I accept that I'm a furry, but I have an overwhelming temptation to be kind of a tool and start using the term "feathery" or something.
In case it's not obvious with that last nugget of "brilliance," I'm avoiding working on homework and I'm getting desperate for things to talk about. Isn't it funny how you have a million things to say until you start to say it? Maybe it's just I have one thing to say, but a million ways to do it, and get the two confused... hmmm...
Ah, well. I really ought to be getting to work now. To the essays! Excelsior!

FA: Welcome!
Posted 15 years ago So, registration is FINALLY back up! I've been checking every day for a month after hearing it might be back online sometime in August, and ironically, this was the first day in a while I didn't go and see. But thanks to
cooljoe224 for spreading the word over on FurryTeens; otherwise I might have missed out. But better late than never, right?
Then the question becomes, what to do first? I've never been a fan of blank profiles, so having such a barren page is going to irk me for a while. I suppose the easiest thing to do go out and make gratuitous use of the "Favorite" and "Add to Watchlist" commands. Starting with art of me, of course... and those people whose profiles I've been creeping on for a long while with no other way of being notified of new stuff.
That being said, I should wrap this up... seeing as I've got no watchers as I write this, no one's going to see it anyway. Rome wasn't built in a day, as the saying goes. Still, you'd think they could at least lay a few bricks in that time...
