New Beginnings
General | Posted 7 years agoIt has been entirely too long since I last logged in on this site, and I apologize to anyone still watching for that time without any content or news.
I've changed a lot in the past few years, and I want to keep changing. To keep improving and becoming a better person, a better artist, a better friend. To that end, I will be making a new start. A new account that will begin with more content, both refreshing what I have done in the past and starting on new ideas that have been stuck in my head for a while. I plan to be posting content weekly at the least frequent, and to try and connect more to those around me.
This change will take some time, but I expect to announce a new account by the beginning of April. I look forward to doing my best for all of you again, and to what will hopefully be many years of creation and improvement.

Filler Journal
General | Posted 10 years agoI'm planning to start posting some things in the next few weeks, but I wanted to get the old journals off the page.
Expect some scrappy stories, sketches, and template designs that have been done for a long while.

Time for a Change
General | Posted 11 years agoThis journal will probably be a little long, so for those of you who don't want to read the whole thing: the general summary is that I'm tired of being so inexperienced and am making efforts to improve and will be much more active.
So I just visited my Macrophile account after a long absence, and I noticed that it was exactly four years ago that I set that account up. Four years ago, I took my first step in testing the waters and actually trying to be a writer and artist. And what better time than that notice to really consider what's changed?
When I first started out, I still had my stutter and even emphasized that in my typing. Eventually I overcame that and dropped it from my typing. The stutter was a remnant of my childhood, and I found myself more easily able, if not willing, to talk with others both online and offline. At the same time, I slowly overcame art of my shyness. I still have my tendencies, including rarely initiating a conversation, but I'm doing much better.
At the same time, however, I've hardly improved in some departments. My feelings of low self-worth have hardly changed, and I'm not any more comfortable with getting complimented on my work or myself at all. I've also hardly improved in my writing or drawing quality, mostly due to very little initiative on my part. I've made plans again and again to restart a regular schedule and never been able to do so.
Most of these issues can be improved or overcome in one way or another, and I will be making these changes in the next couple of weeks. By the time that period is over, I expect to be regularly posting things again and opening free sketches for the purposes of self-improvement. While I will admit that some of these areas I'm unsure about changing, I realize now that this is the best route to my intended goals.
As a fianl note, to those whose compliments and kind words I have answered with uncertainty or comments of undeserving, I apologize. I realize now that these remarks, while intentionally harmless, may have felt as if I was ignoring your kindness. I promise to do my best to avoid this in the future.
Expect a plan journal soon, if you're still interested in watching me...

Dog Sketches and Upcoming Plans
General | Posted 12 years agoI have been on-and-off with posting and writing for a while, and I finally need to get back to a regular schedule so that I can continue to improve and develop my art and stories. As such, at the start of the year, I began a challenge for myself: Take a picture-a-day calendar of dogs and every day, draw that dog as an anthro in any sort of situation. These are a balance of male and female figures, as well as all kinds of themes, in order to get a wide variety of practice in. I'm rapidly approaching the halfway point of the year, and I've been told by a few people that the sketches should posted. So for the next three weeks, finishing on Monday, July 1st, expect daily week-length batches of sketches in my scraps (with double doses on Mondays).
After the 1st, I will be re-opening my weekly sketch requests. Shortly after that, I will finally start posting stories again, starting with a few short stories and possibly resuming my original three stories: Small Miracles, Inside The Walls, and He May Have Been A Giant.
Update (June 17, 2013): Due to trouble last week, I wasn't able to take pictures and upload sketches. I will post 1-week batches from Tuesday to Sunday, 2-week batches the following week, and a final 4-week batch on Monday, July 1st.

Problems and Fixes: 01/17/13
General | Posted 13 years agoI'm sorry for not posting lately, as my schedule has been rather up-and-down at the moment, with not too many downs. I've had very little time for anything, but am working to fix this.
I know I'm not doing well, but every attempt gets me a little closer to improving my weekly system of drawing and writing to get better as an artist and be better overall.
All sketch requests will be posted on Sunday evening on Monday morning, depending on what time I can set aside to take pictures of the sketches. I certainly promise that Monday morning is the very latest and, as always, I will either note or leave a shout on the walls of the sketch's requester.
Following that will be a number of other sketches and drawings on Monday, with sketch requests either next week or the week after, depending on how my schedule shapes out.

General | Posted 13 years agoSketch requests for this week are now open.
I'm pretty open to most things, so feel free to ask. Comment here in the journal or send me a note if you are interested. Requests for this week will be taken up until the end of Wednesday. Any posts on Thursday or later will be added to the start of next week's list of sketch requests.
All sketch requests will be completed (pencil and ink) and posted on Friday. In addition, any sketches I find adequate will be colored and shaded some time in the near future.

Plans for the New Year
General | Posted 13 years agoSorry for posting this a couple days late. Things have kept me rather busy between work and study and I haven't had much time to settle down and finalize my plans for this year. I resolve to do everything better this year, starting with posting on a regular basis.
First up is getting to a regular schedule. For whatever reason, the weekly sketch requests I did last fall were well-liked, and I've had quite a few requests to start doing them again. As such, I'm sticking with my plan to open them up again. Starting next Monday (the 7th of January), I will be offering free sketches to anyone interested. As before, sketch requests will be taken up until the end of Wednesday, and finished sketches will be posted on Friday.
In addition, I will also be doing weekly stories. These will be short stories intended to help me practice and get back to writing, something I'm better at than drawing. Brainstorming and drafting would take place on Monday and Tuesday, when I'm waiting for/responding to sketch requests. The rest of the weekdays would be used to write in my spare time, with the story posting on Saturday.
In addition to that, I'm also striving to meet a few challenges imposed by myself. I bought a picture-a-day calendar of dogs and will be sketching dog anthros daily based on the species in the picture. I haven't decided what my posting schedule would be for the better of these sketches, but I am thinking that a weekly Monday posting would be best.
Here's a breakdown of the weekly schedule as it stands:
Monday: Post dog anthro sketches, take sketch requests, brainstorm story ideas
Tuesday: Take sketch requests, brainstorm/write story
Wednesday: Take sketch requests, write story
Thursday: Draw sketches, write story
Friday: Post sketches, write story
Saturday: Post story
Sunday: Unsure (potentially posting idle sketches)

General | Posted 13 years agoEvery time I give in,
A little bit less of me comes back.
But how can there be less of someone
That was nothing in the first place?
Listen to the voice that says
You are just worthless
Just stop trying, you'll never be anything
Don't even bother to be yourself
Listen to the voice that says
Emotions are for better people
Stop getting down and stop caring
Because you don't deserve anything
Listen to the voice that says
Maybe you should just die
You're nothing but a waste of space
And no one will ever like you
Every time I give in,
A little bit less of me comes back.

General | Posted 13 years agoHow can a compliment hurt so much?
The skin so frail and yet so thick
Endured a thousand insults and a hundred names
Pierced by a soothing gratefulness
The bones so weak and yet so strong
A dozen injuries sustained, innumerable battles survived
Shattered by a gentle warmth
The heart so weak and yet so powerful
Its passion forged in flames of anger and joy alike
Stopped by a single kind word
The body so young and yet so mature
Partly down the journey of life and aging each day
Injured by one who seeks to restore
What pain bothers such a man
That kindness is a weapon and insults are a friend?
What cruel world would satisfy
A being so sustained by hatred and distanced speech?
Who could confront and soothe
A monster so self-loathing he won't let his scars heal?
A single word repeats itself in the mind of the dark
Why?
Why endure such sad loneliness, such depressed thoughts?
Why support one so weak, so shallow, so cold?
Why bother, when one is surrounded by other friends and family?
Why?

General | Posted 13 years agoThis week, I'm opening requests a little earlier, because I had a problem getting requests in on time last Thursday. This extra day will give me a little more time to discuss requests as necessary with the people who make them and to find time to draw and take pictures of the requests before posting them on Thursday.
Today's art upload will be a little late due to staying overtime at class.

Not for Now
General | Posted 13 years agoI've realized that I'm not nearly as good as I want to be before I try to remake my original stories, Small Miracles, Inside These Walls, and He May Have Been a Giant. As such, I am simply going to upload the first five chapters of each, one story now, one on Wednesday, and one on Friday, so that there's something of them on here in the meanwhile.
Starting next week, I'll be doing other stories on Mondays and Fridays, in order to get some practice in and to start improving. I might start opening story requests as well, depending on how things go for the next couple of weeks.

A Bad Start, But A Good Lesson
General | Posted 13 years agoI apologize for the bad progress this week and assure that this is not what will happen every week. This week was merely problematic for two reasons:
Firstly, I had someone I'm close to get hurt badly, and that messed up my free time. I had to spend a lot of time helping them out, and my free hours that I could use for drawing and writing suffered as a result.
Secondly, this was my first time trying out this kind of schedule, and I didn't know how it would work out. Now that I know about how long each day's requirements will take, I'm better prepared for next week, and submissions will be as regularly scheduled.
Again, I'm sorry for all the problems this week, and I promise to do much better next week.

Postponement of Stories
General | Posted 13 years agoSomething happened today that has taken up a large amount of my day. Someone I know has been hurt badly, and my schedule has gotten messed up.
As a result, I'm not going to be able to post today. I am hoping to do the rest of the week as usual and do a double post on Friday to make up for it. I'm sorry for the delay and will do my best to make up for my fault.

One More Week
General | Posted 13 years agoUnfortunately, things were very busy this week, and I had very little time to work on the stories. I want them to be at least a little better than how bad they were before, so I'm postponing the schedule for a week. Starting tomorrow until next Sunday, I will be posting old art and stories because people have said they miss them for some reason.
The posting schedule for when I resume normal posting is as follows:
Monday: Multi-Chaptered Story Posting (Small Miracles, Behind These Walls, He May Have Been a Giant)
Tuesday: Minor Art Posting (Watercolors, Pencils, Colored Pencils, Charcoal, and Others)
Wednesday: Minor Art Posting (Same as above)
Thursday: Art Request Day (I will post a request journal on Wednesday and take one or a couple of requests to be drawn overnight or in the morning and then posted on Thursday)
Friday: Multi-Chaptered Story Posting (Same as Monday)
Saturday: Major Art or Story Posting (This will be an extended project either in writing or art format)
Sunday: Free Day or Scrap Posting
This schedule will allow for submission most days and will not make it difficult to keep up.

Coming Soon
General | Posted 13 years agoNext week will be a mass upload: pictures, stories, and other such things, in order to fill out missing sections of my gallery from what was deleted in the event many months ago.
Starting the week after next, I will resume a normal posting schedule, in an effort to start improving myself.
I will be posting chapters of my original stories, Small Miracles, Inside These Walls, and He May Have Been a Giant, respectively on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. For those of you who did not see the originals, these are multi-chaptered stories to spread out a story over a long while while also allowing readers to see the story as it progresses, instead of waiting a long time for one massive story.
Tuesdays and Thursdays will likely be art days, and I'll likely be taking a few requests a week.
This is not a final and concrete schedule. It is merely an estimation. Next Friday, I will post the definite schedule, which will more than likely have me uploading daily. I apologize for the long lack of submissions as of late and promise to make up for this failure on my part as best as I can.

An Important Question
General | Posted 13 years agoIt's been brought to my attention that my gallery and journal here have been wiped clearn. As such, I want to take this moment to ask: what would you like to see reposted?
I've had requests for the Dribble's Scribbles to be reposted, and I will be posting all of the things that I've done as request works. So what would you like to see come back?
