Rates:
* $65 base (1 char, color)
* $15 per additional character ($20 for highly detailed characters). Max of 5.
* $10 for wings (per char)
* $30 for detailed, handdrawn background
* Restrictions: No babyfurs/cubs, bodily waste, diapers.
Pictures will be done within 21 days of payment, or your money will be refunded. Leave your name, and I will note you for details if you are accepted. First come, first serve (if accepted).

Posted 13 years ago... if you are ever in a situation where somebody goes "Why hello there, Bob. How's the weather? Saaaay... do you want a bean burrito, bacon, pickle, sardine, sauerkraut, cranberry, creamed corn, fried cod, caramel, uncooked macaroni and cheese, spent espresso ground and ghost chile pepper smoothie?" YOU PUNCH THAT PERSON IN THE FUCKING FACE.
And then you run away as fast as you can. Trust me on this. It tasted like vomit and flaming death mixed in with a cup of sand from the fires of hell. I speak from personal experience.
But we raised over $1,000 for charity at FAU drinking that nasty, horrible, vile concoction... SO FUCK YEAH!
It's not as bad as it sounds. It's about 50 times worse.
Seriously, thanks to Blendtec for cutting an impressive deal on a Blendtec Total Blender and 3 extra blending jars. With their help, we raised a lot of money and made a lot of people laugh (and some gag) at FAU5.

Nick "Phraggle" Bondra is an excellent artist, and someone who inspired me to draw and try different ideas (to varying degrees). He's in a contest to design artwork for Jim Henson's Fraggle Rock, and he's definitely the right artist for the job!

Posted 13 years agoI tend to visit quite a few streams, as I tend to dig watching people draw, enjoy being sociable and sometimes I just stick my head in to see what's going on. I'm like that.
Of late, however, I've had quite a few people thanking me for joining their streams... when I didn't. Or angry at me because I threatened to ban their account unless they drew me... which I'd never do. Unless it's gillpanda, but... that's because I crazy fanboy and WANT ALL THE ARTS! Anywaaay, some kind, caring folk have been using my name and trying to cause a few problems.
If I pop in a stream, and you doubt it's the real me, ask me to provide proof! I won't get offended. =3 I have ways of proving it's me, and I'll never be a dick about it. =3

elden... and it honestly made me tear up something fierce reading the story. It's heartbreaking. I couldn't get through the entire journal without crying.

However, I may have just witnessed one of the stupidest things I've ever seen in my life. I went to www.aim.com, logged in, clicked on Settings to change my password. All's well and good so far. The site requires you to enter a CATPCHA to change your password. That's normal. Usually. Except... except it doesn't show you the CAPTCHA right off. No. Instead, it forces you to watch a video commercial in order to display the CAPTCHA.

"Wait, did I..." Yes. Yes, you did. You just read that. The site requires you to view a commercial to change your password. I'll let that sink in for a moment. I know. It hurts, doesn't it? That feeling of pain is your brain screaming, fighting to prevent itself from registering that particular string of words.

Posted 13 years agoWe announced "Will Dragoneer Blend?" in the latest FAU 5 newsletter. What is that? Well, it was recently brought up on Twitter whether if I'd go to great lengths for charity. The answer? Yes.
At FAU, we'll be offering up our version of "Blend Your Own Adventure" in the name of charity. If you're not familiar with it go check it out on YouTube. It's pretty amazing, actually. Basically, we'll offer tiers of items, and let attendees bit on their torment of choice. Add 'em together, blend, force me to drink it. What horrible creations may that be, yo ask?? Macaroni & cheese & vodka? Hamburgers and V8? Tequila and oatmeal? Kool Aid and raw onions? All of the above? Check. Why not.
Yes. In the name of charity, I am willing to publicly humiliate and embarrass myself to raise money for the NJSPCA. But wait, there's more! For the finale: a ghost chile pepper. That's right. If bidding goes high enough... I'll add in the Bhut Jalokia as a biddable option. Not familiar with the Bhut Lajokia? It's commonly referred to as the Ghost Chile Pepper, one of the hottest peppers in the world.
Want to raise money for charity? See me suffer (and perhaps get to pick my torment)? Get revenge on me for admin actions? Here's your chance. Head on over to FAU this Summer, bring cash, and bid with your friends.

Disturbing Trend
Posted 13 years agoI've noticed an odd trend of late, and it's one that bothers me. The "Will Not Draw" trend. Over the past year, I've seen more and more complaints that "Artist X won't draw ______." Sometimes people even bring it up to me... though I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to do about it.
Art is personal. Even when taking money for commissions, art is still somewhat personal to the artist. Artists draw what they love, what they like. Sometimes they'll do things out of their scope of comfort, sometimes for the challenge, and sometimes "just because".
If an artist says"No, I will not draw ______" then respect that. There's no harm in asking if the artist is willing to do so, but don't try to guilt trip or pressure them if they say no. Don't make a stink. If the artist doesn't want to draw your particular interest/theme/idea, or charges more to draw the things they don't like, then accept that, and move on. There are always plenty of other artists out there who will.

The New York Jets & FAU5
Posted 13 years agoI just got an email from the FAU Marriot hotel rep. She asked that we give up one of our con rooms for the weekend. Why? Apparently, the New York Jets need it. Yep. The Jets are going to be at the con that weekend. Draft picks, rookies, coaches... and possibly even their rival team for that weekend. They'll be there.

This may turn out to be rather interesting. Hopefully, the Jets don't lose. I still remember what happened at Anthrocon a few years ago. Heh.
