Opinion on FA Ads?
Posted 4 years agoI was thinking of trying out FA's monthly ad thing, but I figured I'd get some opinions on it since I dont really know if its worth.
Tbh, I actually never see ads on here since I always have adblock on my desktop PC. The only time I see them is on mobile, and I hardly go on FA on mobile, since I normally only use my phone in public, and I dont think I need to explain why I dont wanna go on FA in public haha xD
But despite that, have any of you tried doing the ads here? Did you notice any significant difference with your account? Do you think its beneficial in the long run?

Posted 4 years agoBecause I've gotten a bunch of messages about this sorta thing, I just wanted to clarify that I still do not accept porn commissions unless its under very specific circumstances. The reason being is because I really only feel comfortable drawing porn with characters that I have a strong emotional connection to... which usually tend to be my own haha. Otherwise I tend to find most pornographic situations to be uninteresting and repetitive to draw.
Maybe that sounds a lil' lame, but that's how I be lol.

Posted 4 years agoThe bidding war from the YCH I recently posted absolutely floored me. 😭 I'm still crying.
Tbh, I dont really have the highest self esteem in myself or my work, but this really made me change my perspective on it. That my work probably has much more value than my brain keeps telling me it does.
I'll probably still have to fight the feelings of self doubt, since its something I've struggled with my whole life, but this really brought up my confidence today. Thank you all so much for your support! ;; <33

Posted 4 years agoI decided to rejoin after 3 years! Its been a while since I've gotten any art of my characters and wanted to feel that dopamine rush again. xD Also thought it'd be nice to do quick arts for people too. :>

Since I'm still busy, I'll only have time for revenges atm. So unless I'm attacked at all, my profile will probably just sit there tbh haha. But depending on how many attacks I get, I may not be able to get back to everyone.
I've also cut down the amount of characters that I've had before and now only have my two main ones (Sky and Keith) from my comic! Since they are the only two I'm interested in collecting art of right now. Posted 4 years agoPlease stop reposting my stuff on Twitter. Everything I post here is already posted on my Twitter, which is already linked to every post I make here. I'd really appreciate it if you'd just RT the original post instead of saving the image, then reuploading it on your own. Especially since Twitter algorithms hate me so my work doesn't get much traction.

Animated YCH Heads Up + Next Com Opening

Experiencing Burnout + Commission Changes
Posted 5 years agoI get a lot of messages asking when I'm gonna be reopening commissions again, so I just wanna give an update of where I'm at.
Over the past few months, I've noticed my art output getting slower and slower. Last commission round I took about 15 commissions, about 5 over what I originally was going to accept, because the demand was higher than I expected and I felt like I needed to compensate (I usually only take 5-10 at a time since its the most manageable for me). But because of that, I ended up with a longer than usual queue and now I'm experiencing a burnout that's making me finish these commissions way longer than it should.
I don't just do art commissions, I also do freelance art for companies, which I obviously cant post online. So sometimes it leaves me with a gap where it looks like I'm not putting anything out, but in reality I'm as busy as ever. I've also put a lot of my original ideas/projects on the backburner and it's been increasingly difficult for me to find time to draw for myself, which I usually do as a stress reliever. I really want to go back to drawing for myself more often than not, because I want the bulk of my gallery to reflect what I enjoy the most. Sometimes what I do for commissions doesn't always align with that.
Because of all this, sometimes I've found myself just.. not wanting to draw anything for whole days. I've always been sort of a workaholic so this is actually kind of bizarre for me. :'D I think I've just overworked myself, and I just... cannot anymore (current events aren't helping either |D).
From now on, I think I'll be taking less commissions and raising up prices to decrease demand. I realized that I actually haven't raised my prices in 1-2 years and that what I'm charging is still too low for the amount of time I spend on them. As well as maybe taking more special/niche themed commissions that are more affordable and don't take a long time to finish. I know this might sound disappointing to some of you, but I feel like this will better my mental health and alleviate my stress a bit.
At the moment, there's only about 4 more commissions on queue, but I always save the largest commissions on queue for last (they usually tend to be animations and such) so they'll take a bit to finish. But I think I'm gonna take it easy and just work on them at a slower pace, making more time for myself. Right now I dont want to "force" myself to finish them quickly when I'm currently at a low point. I still want to give you the best product I can!
I'm hoping when my mental health improves, so will my art output and I'll regain my inspiration again. But right now I just feel stagnated and lost.

Call for Comic Cameos! [OPEN]
Posted 5 years agoI've been working on a short, 2 or 3 parter furry comic for fun, but I dont have the creative energy to come up with unique background characters lol, so I wanted to ask if I could borrow some designs to help populate my backgrounds?
For context, the comic takes place at a meat market (which would probably be considered kinda shady in a world with both herbivorous/carnivorous furries). Heres a sneak peek of what I have a mind so you can get a better idea: https://sta.sh/01411uhfzdob
If you'd like to suggest your character to be cameo'd, feel free to leave a comment with a link to them!
A few things to consider:
- This is a FREE opportunity. You dont have to do anything special to be considered for this.
- I'm looking for CARNIVOROUS OR OMNIVOROUS species only, since its appropriate for the setting I have in mind.
- Anthro characters with more humanoid bodies are preferred, so that it matches the style of my main two characters better.
- Natural colored characters with clothing are preferred (bright colored hairstyles are fine tho). I may also avoid more "innocent" looking characters since this place isn't supposed to be very legal. xD
- You can suggest as many characters of yours as you like, but I'm only picking a handful of characters from the comment section (or as many that i need).
- I wanna try to show a wide variety of species, so if I pick a wolf for example, I'm probably not gonna pick another wolf.
- I can't guarantee how well your character will show up if cameo'd (another reason why this is free xD) I'll just be formatting them by how well I feel that they fit in the scene. But I'll send you a note if your character was picked when the comic is done!

Most of the character info is copypasted from my OC Weebly site (which is here: https://pelepia.weebly.com/ ) and its still my main site for character organization (mainly cause I need to create extra pages to explain unfamiliar terms, since my stories don't take place on Earth :'D) But I figured Toyhouse could be a good alternative for character organization too, since I've had some people mention issues viewing Weebly sites. Originally I thought the site was for like adoptables or something (which is a community I'm not really into) so I didn't pay it any mind for a long time. But now I really appreciate it!
I'm really enjoying the free coding on the site (even though I'm terrible at coding so I have to use templates xD). The only thing I'm dreading is uploading all the pictures I have of my characters, cause I have... a lot. :'D Combined with the art I've done of all of them and others have done, it'll take forever. I'll mainly use this as an alternate place to post uncensored versions of my artwork/commissions and just general NSFW stuff other than here. Tabiasco (or Tabs for short) is gonna be a new alias I'll use for NSFW art, so it wont be connected to my main alias (Seyumei). Though, if you recognize my art style or characters, its probably a dead giveaway to who I am xD (I'm really good at hiding my identity guys). So future NSFW pieces/commissions from me will be signed with "Tabs" somewhere in the corner instead of "Seyumei".
Originally I checked for ages before I let people follow, but it was a bit too tedious, so I'm just assuming most of everyone on FA is an adult :'D (Tbh y'all really should be over 18 if you're on FA, cause I mean, look at type of content constantly uploaded on this hellsite xD)
I wont be updating it too often since I dont draw NSFW that much, but I'll have it there as an archive (and if anyone wants to share/RT my work). I'll also RT NSFW art made for me by others there and tagging clients if they ordered a NSFW piece from me (if they have a twitter) as I usually do. But overall, it'll just be a safe place for me to share this type of work without being judged haha.

Posted 5 years agoIf you filled out a commission application last weekend, I just wanted to update you on the status of things.
Excluding the Animal Crossing ones, there were about 40+ applications. I was only expecting maybe 20-ish over the course of two days :'D So yeah..I uh, kinda underestimated how many people wanted a commission haha (especially during COVID times). The reason why I opened my commissions for an extended time is because I wanted to give people who normally miss my FCFS slots a chance to commission me. But yeah, I'm in a bit of a pickle atm. x'D
There were a ton of fun characters and ideas offered, and I really wish I could take all of them, but I also don't want to pile on a large queue and keep you guys waiting forever. Thats why I wanted to limit myself to 10 ideas. I could do a long waitlist, but everytime I've done one in the past, it just doesn't work out smoothly (due to dropouts and communication issues). So I decided to take in a few more that'll still be workable for me (maybe around 15 instead), but sadly I still won't be able to take the majority of the applications in.
Atm, I've sent out about half of the emails I've planned to send, but I might need the rest of the week to make a decision and get all of them sent. (I tend to look over apps and send out stuff at night after I'm done with work stuff in the day). I'd say if you dont hear anything from me by Friday night, then that means I won't be able to take your commission at this time unfortunately, but I'd love to work with you some other time! And theres also the case of dropouts in the future too!

Will be overseas for 3 weeks!
Posted 5 years agoFrom Feb 18- March 12, I'm gonna be overseas in Malaysia/Singapore to visit family. YES, YES, I KNOW, BEST TIME TO GO FLYING, I KNOW. BUT HEAR ME OUT FIRST:
- We planned this trip months in advance, before the coronavirus was announced, so we had no idea beforehand.
- Our airline hasn't offered us any refunds yet, so if i refuse to go, I'll pretty much be tossing a thousand dollars down the drain. If the airline miraculously allows us to get a refund tomorrow before we go, then we probably will cancel and reschedule for another date.
- I havent seen my relatives or gone on a long trip like this in about 8 years... Plus, I felt like this trip could be a good way to clear my head after my dog's recent passing.
I understand that these countries are of "high risk" for the virus spreading, but we're prepared to deal with it. Its just unfortunate that our trip was timed so badly. |D
I'll still be around online during that time, it just might take me longer to get back to messages since I'll be more out and about. I do have a backlog of work that I'll be able to work on and post in the meantime, so I'll see if I can manage to post something at least once a week during my absence. I'll also be bringing a tablet with me to draw on so I may be able to get some new drawin's in too. But all owed work will be halted until I get back, which I've already informed everyone on my queue about.

She's Gone..
Posted 5 years agoMy beloved dog who I grew up with and took care for 16 years passed away. I wont get into it that much because its too painful to type right now, but I'll just say it was a bittersweet feeling to finally let her go and not see her suffer anymore.
I'm currently in mourning so I'll need some time and space to recover. Right now, I can't bring myself to do anything other than to revisit the memories I had with her. Once I'm more emotionally stable, I'll be sure to pay a proper tribute to her.

Commission Updates and Next Opening
Posted 6 years agoIts been a while hasn't it? I'm gonna be accepting new commission spots in the beginning of January to kick off the new year :D But I've also updated quite a few things on my commission site and TOS that I feel are important to point out beforehand.

Heres are the changes I've made to my site, TOS and rules!:
⭐ I updated and reorganized the site to be more mobile friendly (i normally dont go on Weebly on my phone, so i didnt realize how terrible it looked xD) So hopefully it'll be easier to browse on the go.
⭐ Prices haven't really changed, but I've made it easier to look them up on the page. So now you dont have to scroll miles down just to get to the prices, you can see them right next to the items haha.
⭐There is now a price chart for animation add ons! So if you wanted to add a little animation on your commission, theres that. :)
⭐ If you choose the half upfront/half after payment plan, the last half of the payment must be completed after seeing the 2nd WIP instead of the final. I havent had an issue with this payment plan yet, but its mainly the paranoia in me and I feel more secure continuing the commission if I know that its been paid off completely. :'D
⭐ NSFW commissions (that show nudity) will have a +$40 fee attached. This is mainly to limit them from potentially overtaking SFW requests (I dont mind drawing risque things, but I dont want my whole gallery to become a tiddy/sausage fest lmao). If you don't mind paying the fee though, then more power to you. xD
I will be accepting new commissions on January 4, 2020 (This Saturday!) starting at 12:00 PM (PST) and they'll be FCFS. Atm, I'm still up in the air of how many slots I want to take, but it'll probably be around 5 ish. I really want to avoid using a waitlist like I had to do last time because quite a few people ended up dropping out/became unresponsive after a few months of waiting, so slots will be more limited this time to avoid long waits.

What underrated species do you want to see more of?
Posted 6 years agoNot so much a question for me, but for the furry art community in general. I think its pretty common knowledge that the fandom is about 90% canine/feline/dragon lol, but what kinds of animals do you wish artists would draw more of or just have more representation in the community?
For me personally, I'd like to see more birds, farm animals and underrated dog breeds (like poodles, bulldogs, ect.). But what about you?

If you don't want to buy a commission from me anymore/are having money troubles paying or if anything comes up. PLEASE, please, just tell me about it. Don't just give me the silent treatment and ignore my questions. All it does is make me keep guessing whether you still want it or not and I end up having to delay paid commissions by having to keep chasing after you.
Why people do this is beyond me. I guess they assume I'll be upset and disappointed? Cause I won't be, not at all. I'd actually be super grateful that you're keeping me informed of your situation. In fact, ignoring my messages is a pretty good way to make me upset and disappointed, actually.
I can't be the only artist who has this issue, right?

This time I'm gonna separate the slots into different commission categories. I might try this more often since portraits tend to be the overwhelming majority of what I get commissioned for, so I'd just like to make it so I have different things to work with.

I did some more thinking about it and I feel like this might not be the best route to take for a personal zine piece. Using other multiple people's characters I mean haha. So I decided to keep the piece more personal to myself.
Also, picking out only 3-5 characters from 70+ people is just too difficult for me honestly. xD I'm not kidding, there was a day where I was like "yes, I'm totally gonna finish picking people today!" and I ended up not being able to decide for hours, and basically just wasted my day away xD
(I'm also a bit paranoid of people leaving/deactivating/not being able to find them by the time September hits, ahah)
So I'm REALLY REALLY sorry if I disappointed some of you or got your hopes up that you could get some free art. BUT THERE IS A CHANCE I MIGHT CHANGE MY MIND LATER ON, which is why I didnt delete the journal yet. I might come back if theres some voids that I really need to fill in the picture xD But again, thats not guaranteed.
In lighter news though, I'm gonna be opening a few (2-3) commission slots next weekend! It will be FCFS as usual, but the slots will have more limited options (meaning it wont be a free for all) mainly to avoid rushing. So if you're interested, keep your eyes peeled! 👀
Free Art Cameo Opportunity! (CLOSED)

I recently got accepted into a furry themed summer zine (a zine is basically a collection of art from multiple artists) and for my idea I'm kinda going all out, so I was thinking I'll probably need some background characters to populate the area. Therefore, I decided to ask you guys if you'd like your character to be cameo'ed in my piece! :D (I asked for permission to do this beforehand, and it was allowed)
The scene is currently still being figured out, but it'll be summer themed! (so hot and sunny, being active, maaaaybe on a beach, probably no big winter jackets anywhere xD)
I'll only be choosing 3-5 characters in total. Keep in mind that your character may be showed as a fullbody, halfbody, blur or a head, since I'm gonna be arranging all of the characters (including my own!) to get the best composition I can.
THINGS TO NOTE BEFORE COMMENTING!
⭐ Entering this is completely free! You don't need to do anything special for it.
⭐ Furry characters with humanoid bodies only please!
⭐ I'll be choosing characters based on how well they fit the scene I have in mind. Characters without clear references will be disregarded.
⭐ You can link me as many characters as you like, but I'll only be choosing one from each person I choose.
⭐ I want to showcase a wide variety of species in the scene, so for example if I choose a canine, I most likely won't be choosing another canine.
⭐ Going back to the point above, I won't be choosing any doberman dog or goat characters, since my characters in the scene are those species already.
⭐ I'm more likely to gravitate towards people who are fairly active online rather than an empty account.
⭐The zine will not be released to the public until September, so you'll basically have to trust me that I'll do your character justice until then. xD
