Im homesick, I miss  maccabeus so much it makes me sick, and its only been one week. To top all this off, He was in a serious car accident yesterday, along with my best friend.They both only had minor injuries, but it could have been worse, if not a fatal accident.If I had been home, this would not have happened, they would have not been in that car, or or going where they were that day.

All I can do today is cry. I just feel like I made a mistake by taking this job. Anyways, next week I will be in southern Minnesota. I can not wait to get paid, so I can fly home ad see my baby, even if its for two days.

I leave today, for Chicago, I got a job! Yay right? Downside? I have to travel, all the time. My first stop Chicago, My flight leaves today at 5:25 pm. This all happened really fast, and it feels so surreal, I am going to miss  maccabeus ridiculous amounts. I am not even sure what to say, but I wanted to let you guys know!

How life is always evolving. How what you think is real, and is family: changes. Things have grown so amazingly well with  maccabeus, in the past year. I am a part of his family, I have Sunday dinner with his mom, and siblings, etc. His Dad and I talk, hang out, go to dinner, I actually stood up to his father the other day. If you know us, you know what went on when we met, and then the problems that occurred when his parents found out about us, then you can really appreciate this. I have reconnected with old friends, and spend a large amount of time with them now, which is going awesome. I go to the gym, and I play disc golf, my life is nothing what it used to be. Two years ago, I would have laughed at you, in the face, hard, had you suggested this would be my life now. I don't really even speak to those who dominated my life then, I don't do any of things I used to. Guess thats part of growing up though, moving on, and moving up. Here comes being 30.

What an amazing con! I worked a lot, something like 50+ hours, but it was still amazing! I got to see so many people that I don't often see, and hang out with some awesome people and friends. Had a few drinks, a few good times (not like that). I got to see  niero for a few hours Saturday, even!

It all started for me on Weds., I went down to the Hilton around 2 to help start setting up, and get things unpacked. The Hilton looked awesome this year, as they have completed the remodel that was happening last year. I helped mostly with unloaded and getting the main events room set up. The con spent lots of time and money getting the new equipment for that room, and it showed, I think the sound system could be heard on the 28th floor, and the lights were spectacular this year!

Thursday starts off rocky, running behind, and with the jeep being overloaded, but we finally make it to the hotel, and I get to work! I drive to the storage facility, to meet up with others so we can get the truck loaded, and back to the Hilton, where it is unloaded. Then unloaded the massive supply of con suite goodies (seriously, it was literally a truck load of food)....

Shortly after (with some small delays) the con is going....and it doesn't stop for the next four days! The next four days are almost a blur, they all seem to mesh together. I Know one night I drank, hung out with some friends, hung out with beau. I don't think I even remember Friday! Saturday was a super busy day, and almost the point in which I thought I would break (I cried myself to sleep that night). It was a hectic night indeed, many non attendees on the con floor, having to escort them out, and just lots of partying! By now though I am getting my sea legs as a staffer, and am beginning to understand Filthy Rotten in a whole new light...

Sunday was probably my least busy day, I got some art from the art show by Hibbary (sp?), and tried to pick up any last minute things I wanted. I got to see the talent show, which was pretty good, had a few great acts, such as Wag, and drumming raccon! Oh! I also won a cool party light in the charity auction, and picked an FWA flask!

The highlight of this con, again, was defiantly the staff dinner Sunday night, which the con and tigerpaw took us to the amazing Max Lagers for dinner! I have a great steak, and a few beers, hung out with the awesome people that are the FWA staff. Now last year, we ate at hard rock, and Love Shack came on the radio, and the whole staff ended up singing along, at the top of lungs...and it was awesome. This year, as we are enjoying our meal, Take on me comes on the radio....I thought this is it, and the table I am at (jackal, andrea, cooper, greymist) we start singing along, and almost instantly the entire group, 60+ of us are singing, at the top of our lungs (even the high parts)......it was epic. A tradition was born!

I might try to post more to this later, or in more journals. Still recovering from such a great weekend!

Some news, Its not bad, though it may sound bad. As of New Years Eve,  mishathegoat and I are no longer together. It's not a bad thing, its what we both want, though he was the one to break things off. We are going to still be living together for the time being, so I don't have to move or anything like that. No, I'm not sad, not really angry, I am relieved by it. As a couple we just drifted apart, and we are starting to be together just out of convenience, and I don't want to make that mistake again.
