I have already said this on BlueSky but I will repeat it here... But I will be distancing myself from the ABDL/BF fandom going forward.

I am not going to specifics... but due to my diverging interests, as well as the general direction of the fandom and my rising problems/grievances with it.

So what does that mean? Well basically.... I will be sticking to the wider furry fandom as a whole doing my own thing, and still interact with individuals I enjoy.

But otherwise no.

A number of you in the fandom have been decent peeps, so don't take this super personally... But it has been long overdue from me.

Still hoping to continue with some kind of art though!

Gosh does the time fly! It's been 10 years today since I re-joined fandom on my old account, and it's a fun little ride! I have meet many interesting peeps who have came and gone during this time, and despite a few 'dramas' here and there, I have overall enjoyed my time so thank you all so much! <3

Yep! This is just a journal mentioning just how gosh darn adorable the concept of “ABDL ferals” truly are!

Whether it be wearing bonnets on their head, booties on all four of their little paws, cloth/disposable nappies on their rears, bows on their tail or whatever other ABDL-ish attire you can think of… It all looks too cute! Especially with the mix of pet attire such as collars and harnesses!

This doesn’t even count the adorable and sometimes embarrassing situations you can see these ABDL feral characters in! It strikes just a little differently compared to their anthro counterparts.

Yeah, if you haven’t guessed it by now, I very much enjoy ABDL feral art. ;3

Hey all, and Happy new year!

I figured I would just post an update about myself for those who may be interested.

I'll start saying that 2022 was not a nice year for me... From my car getting stolen to a terrible move to a new rental, it had a bunch of rough surprises that honestly kicked me down in ways that took a significant mental toll on me, quite bad now that I am looking at it in hindsight.

But it wasn't all bad, I did travel overseas for the first time since COVID struck, and finally got off Twitter for personal use back in November (which I will personally say has been great decision for my mental health!).

So with that said, I wanted to set myself up for success for 2023, not in terms of 'getting popular' but rather feeling more satisfied with my life... To do this, I have set some personal goals for myself, including in regard to the fandom:

First, I want to re-prioritize myself on my alt art account  Merrywood , it's my current passion project so I have committed spending some time each day to draw and overall improve my skills in creating that kind of content seen over there (I have ideas on how to grow that account and will be excited to share them when they are ready!).

Second, I doubt I will be producing that much art outside that account... It's honestly just a time thing as I have a full time job and personal life to manage, so don't expect too much outside of the occasional personal art piece. I very much won't likely be doing much in terms of art commissions either... (However I may change my mind on this stance if I discover I have more time than expected, only 2023 will tell!)

Third, despite what I just said, I do want to interact with a few more peeps in the fandom... Whether on here or on Telegram, I am open to all kinds of interactions (Especially in regard to the type of topics I post!). I am also looking to get more commissions this year involving my peculiar interests, likely involving Billy or Spot, so you have that to look forward to if you are interested in that! c:

So yeah, I decided to delete my main personal account on Twitter (two weeks ago in fact!).

It has nothing to do with the whole Twitter takeover saga (it didn’t help though), but rather due to the fact that the “addictively negative” nature of the platform was beginning to take a toll on my mental wellbeing and I decided that it was time to stop.

While I appreciate the platform’s ability to connect and interact with other furries, I find it brings out the parts of the fandom I enjoy least…

One of the biggest issues is this massive race/addiction towards getting as many likes/re-tweets/followers as possible… Appealing to the most common denominator rather than expressing genuine/unique interests since that doesn’t ‘get the views,’ which has made the fandom a little dull and uninteresting in my eyes.

It also doesn’t help that some folks on the platform have adopted this ‘influencer/superior complex’ attitude… Writing up pointless ‘hot takes’ in this a passive aggressive tone to ‘lecture their audience,’ dying on hills about ‘issues’ that don’t really matter, public ‘clap-backs’ between folks that could have been sorted out in private (or plainly ignored).

I bring up these issues in particular as they were all things that I have been involved in (addictively so) and I realized just how bad it has gotten for me… I started bring up Twitter instinctually whenever I have my phone in my hand, I have been loathing my own art since it wasn’t getting enough ‘attention’, and constantly checking notifications to see if people liked my latest tweet… It was just time to take a step back.

You may feel that these are not big issues and that the benefits of the platform heavily outweighs the negative, and that is completely fair! It is just getting a bit too much for me personally.

I am still keeping my smaller Merrywood Twitter account up for the time being (since I only use it to post art), and I will be active on here, Telegram and soon Discord… (I am thinking of setting up a Tumblr account soon to give that a go!).

It’s been a while since I have posted up artwork of mine, and truth be told it will probably be a little while longer until you start seeing more art from me again… This is going to be a little bit of a personal vent, so you are more than welcome to close out from this journal if you want.

Honesty, the last two months have been mentally tough for me.

As a few of you may know, my car got stolen (and recovered) some time in early May, but it was ultimately a write-off by my insurance company… This meant now find something else to drive, and this was happening during a time when I was going to move into a new rental with two of my siblings in three weeks time.

Dealing with police and an insurance company, along with arranging move-in/move-out dates, beginning/ending utilities, cleaning up our old rental property, etc… It was all super busy and quite stressful for me, and this doesn’t even include working a full time job and trying to search for a new vehicle.

Nonetheless, at first it was going alright (albeit busy) and things seemed like they would be okay… Until the day we actually moved.

I won’t get into the specifics… But after a couple of particular incidents that occurred after the move, I’m not on the greatest terms with my sibling roommates at the moment (particularly still mad at one of them, the other is ‘okay’) and it’s been that way for about five weeks now.

Now being on ‘not so great’ terms with your siblings/roommates is one thing, but being dependent on them for a ride because your car was stolen? Yeah… That’s a recipe for a dreadful time. It’s not a nice feeling being dependent on people who are only begrudgingly helping you out, rather than an actual desire to help you through your struggles.

(It also doesn’t help that setting up this new rental with new services has been a bit royal pain in the rear, with a lot of unnecessary back and forward communication).

Now with that all said, I should hopefully be on the ‘up’ from this mental slump… I’ve just purchased another car and will be picking it up this week. My parents and older sister have offered physical and mental support to me which has helped me out a lot, and my boss has been extra understanding of my situation.

I will be okay, and I will mentally recover from all of this, but it will take time… It’s just a shame that my ‘drive’ to create art is not great at the moment (especially as it’s my biggest form of ‘relaxation’).

I have many ideas I want to draw, but I can’t seem to put ‘pencil to paper’… I’m just too mentally exhausted and my skills have rusted-up over the last couple of months. It’ll take some time for me to re-introduce myself to drawing and hopefully I can regain some kind of ‘rhythm’ again with my artwork.

Anyway I am rambling now… But I figured I’d let you all know what has been happening (and a way for me to collect my thoughts). I’ll probably delete this journal later, but it was good being able to ‘let it out’ even if I excluded the more ‘dramatic details.’

It’s been a tough week for me (which I won’t get into here), but I’d figure I give you an update on what is going on with my online presense.

First, I won’t be using my personal Twitter account for the foreseeable future… Twitter hasn’t been good for my mental wellbeing, so I have decided it’s best to stop using it for personal purposes (I may come back to it one day, but that is uncertain).

I will still be using my Merrywood account (https://twitter.com/MerrywoodArts) to post art and some content-related updates, and I will also be continuing to use FA and Telegram, but that will be the extent of my Twitter usage for the time-being.

As for my art, I am still focusing first on my feral content at  Merrywood … Though I would possibly like to do more regular toony anthro art pieces at some point (depending on how much time I have to dedicated on anthro art, and how much I enjoy drawing feral content).

So yeah, hope to post up more art pieces when my real life calms down a bit, I have a bunch of ideas I want to post up to you all, so I very much hope you will enjoy them!

Hey guys!

For those who didn’t know and were curious, around 7 months ago I declared that I no longer identify as an “ABDL/babyfur/diaperfur,” and I continue to stand by what I said.

But I figured I would write this journal on where my interests lies in regards to the fandom as I feel I have a better mental definition on where my boundaries lie.

I have no real IRL interest in nappies anymore… Whether it be talking about it, wearing them IRL or seeking out/hanging out with other community members for the purpose of expressing ABDLish dynamics (I have no issue with meeting up with other peeps in the fandom space, it’s just ABDL stuff can’t be the main motivator for such a meet-up)…. There is an exception when it comes to fursuits (which I explain why in a little bit).

The biggest reason for the decline in these interests, and why I no longer identify with the fandom, is simply that I feel the interests of the fandom don’t align with my own.

In my experience in the fandom, there is an expectation you are one of two things: 1. You want to be part of a baby/caretaker dynamic, recreating your cherished childhood memories and feelings through each other. Or 2. (The far more common nowadays) You are an adult wanting a ‘dirty’ sexual relationship with someone else… Things like cucking, snoofing and obsessing about ‘yellow and brown diapers,’ playing with particular adult toys, behaving crudely, etc.

Now to be absolutely clear, I am not shaming ANYONE for these interests, go have fun with them! They are simply not my own interests... I also know not everyone falls exactly in these two groups, but a lot of peeps do, and that makes it tricky when others make the assumption you fall into one of those two groups as well (hence why I don’t identify with the fandom).

So… What are my interests then? Well it’s no secret I enjoy talking and drawing silly cartoon animals (who often end up in nappies), and that holds true to this day! To me, nappies are still cute as a silly cartoonish gag and can lead to some amusing funny stories that pays homage to old cartoons we all watched, and act as a vessel for some truly imaginative scenes. In all, it’s just silly goofy fun for me imagining and playing out those situations, especially as it lacks this expectation being ‘sexual/adults.’

The same applies to fursuits… Wearing a fursuit is just silly light-hearted fun as you are just playing a character rather than necessarily expressing some inner sexual desire (I know some suiters do, and that is fine, but that’s not the default expectation of fursuits). In fact, I honestly would have no issue wearing a diapered fursuit IRL.

To me, playing as a cartoon animal or dressing in a fursuit is akin to playing a video game character and messing around, rather than expressing some deep inner desire that I don’t have… That’s why I don’t consider myself an ABDL/babyfur/diaperfur despite these few interests. You may disagree with my definitions or analysis of the fandom as a whole, but that’s just my perception of how I experienced things in this space.

So yeah, that’s about it without making this journal even longer than it should be… But it should act as a good reference for myself to understand my interests going forward (especially since that has always been a tough struggle for me) Any questions, feel free to yell at me and I’ll be happy to answer!
