March was a bit of a washout really.
I had a fixed list of things to do, and I didnt really follow through. I jus kinda lost interest and decided to let some important stuff get left on the side while I pottered about with less important trivial matters.

Well, new month, better weather and time to pull my finger out and get back to work.

Apart from the casting of one new FBI dude who frankly left me uninterested, the movie was a sucsess. For those of you who have seen the previous movies, Detective Hoffman's past is examined, everyones fave FBI Dude from Gilmore Girls go's on a hunt for answers about the nature of Jigsaws secret accomplace, and John Kramers wife gets a box given to her in his will. Also 5 people play a game where teamwork in encouraged, but Survival of the fittest is all that they understand.

Dont worry, in the end, all the pieces will fit together.

Watch the Saw movies. Yes theres some horrible bits and moments, even I turn my head at some points (The eye trap in number 2, the Autopsy in 4) but stick with it, and you will see something greater than the sum of its parts, a perfect engine, each piece fitting perfectly in place.

Read the whole backlog of badly drawn kitties after spotting the add's all over the place. An ok comic with some good characters, but sad to see it tail off and wither away like it did. Like the new art style though. Hope it can get ressurected again some day.

As an Illustrator and cartoonist you have a very low opinion of what you produce more often than not. Not because you think the work is crappy, but because you dont truly belive that it has a value to others, so you constantly undercut yourself or give it away completly for free. I do the same with my websites, I try not to pay for hosting now, but in the past I have decided to 'do someone a favour' and have all the expense taken out of my wallet. Theres a kind of self doubt that anyone would want to pay for your work, and as such you can do yourself some serious harm as someone who should be making a living from their work.

In an interesting parralel Ive started doing artwork for people both in my Warcraft guild and in game of their characters, not for actual money but in-game gold. I originally stated that these would be nice and cheap at about 20-40 Gold. Now, if you really know how to play this game, you know that this is freakin chickenfeed, and in all honesty de-values the work itself. I spent just over a week or two on and off on Grindells painting, and loved every minute. Its an A3 size print, and I sure as heck wouldnt charge a few pounds for one if it were in real life. So yeah, The point of this little post is that NO, Im not asking for money for doing the little Guild site, because this was for fun and helping out, and no Im not blackmailing folks for money for their art. Im trying to get Myself to recognise that my work has value, and I should treat it like such. That way others will too.

Annnnnnyway, prices for an image such as this one below, a full colour A3 digital painting now range from 500 to 600 Gold. And considering thats fake money... your getting a bargain friends.

So Ive been working on cracking Indesign, and the result was a new 8 page Folio featuring the best of my recent work. Its A4 size full colour print, and is the first of a set of 'themed' folio's, each one based on a particular theme with art made just for it rather than stuff that gets posted online first etc. Thats the plan anyway, or should I post all my art for free online? Opinions please.

Still jobhunting, doing Warcraft artwork for in-game gold, and trying to figure out where my next meal is coming from.

So Im now on my first day of being unemployed in 6/7 years. Awwww, poor me bleah whatever.
So Im hunting around for jobs etc and my family sent me a ton of stuff for 3-D design. Really? Im an illustrator/cartoonist with the bare minumum brain-knowledge for web creation and front end design.... and you want me to 'Blag' 3-D design? Are you fucking jesting?

Im still trying to get my In Design skills up to snuff, and by that I mean actually get a working fecking copy and figure out how to switch the damn thing on. The most important program in Print design and in 4 years of University they never one thought about giving us a few pointers about it. Bleah, I say, bleah.

Im also currently working on actual work I am capable of, Illustration of the 2-D kind. Since trying to get folks to part with their real world money is such a chore, I shall settle for your in-Game money. To be specific, Im doing artwork for In-Game Gold and items from World of Warcraft. You need to be on the European relams, and preferably on Stomrage, although Im always happy to have a lil banker character on another realm your on, for future use and migration. So Im told theres a stomache bug goin around. Not sure how I got it, being a reclusive wanker. More likely it was having my window open that turned my stomache. Anyway, ugh. Puking at 5 in the morning, and curled up in places too hot or too cold until 12.00. And all before I see Sarah again.

Sarah's a gal Ive known since college, and someone I consider to be one of my closest friends, despite not seeing her much. But whenever we do hook up, I appear to vomit for no explainable reason. So I need £684 to get Adobe Indesign. Nightmare. Something tells me that my old ally Limewire just may make an appearance along with an older copy of the program. Thing is I need to gear up my knowledge of the program as part of my overall design skills. Interesting that I went to Uni for 4 years and they never taught us how to use it.

Well, ok Im being Dramatic. Christmas can be a slightly strained time if your not careful. Thats why this year I resolved to be helpful and considerate while away with my family, and not complain about the various little incidents which occur in a regular family full of short tempered highly opinionated individuals.

So, first of all as is tradition we all piled into a car and drove down on Xmas Eve to my Grans house. Now, it doesnt matter what the occasion is, but when you want to get the family together for a car journey there will always be the inevitable "why arent you redy yet?" "Im waiting for you," "your in the way," "why arent you helping," and "stop moving things around" arguments. Add to this that instead of leaving the annoying gits at home, we have the Incredibly smart and intelligent idea of bringing both Dogs with us, one an illness ridden old git who barks at everything, and a hyperactive rescued dog who go's into psychotic yelps of agony when your stupid enough to try and take her out of the house.

So were crammed into the car with 2 idiotic dogs in the back, and several bags of presents and multiple changes of clothing, and Holly, the younger dog is not used to the Car. While my older moody dog Pip just lies down and dozes off, we have an entire car journey of supersonic high whining which drives everybody around the twist.

While the actual arrival and Christmas events of seeing family and Christingle services are without incident, bar noisy children, hour late groups and dogy sound systems, the evening go's off without much of a hitch.

Apart from having 2 dogs transplanted from their usual home into a small old ladies house with MANY small breakable knick naks and a kitchen thats so small that while the ladies are trying to make Christmas dinner theres several instances of the mutts nearly causing one of them to fly head first into the oven. Now dont get me wrong, I love my pets. But I love being a bitter moaning bastard too, so my resolution to be the helpful decent human being was tricky, but hey, we made it.

Things only got really trying when it was running late, and I decided to call it a night. While my father had managed to land the nice comfy bed with several thick sheets and comfy matress, I had the cheap sub-bed.... with the duvet. And thats it, No sheets, nada. Plus in the insane shouty mad rush to leave home, I forgot to bring my night wear. So I spent Christmas Eve in the coldest room in the house with my blissfully sleeping and snoring like a mother bitch Father, wearing my day clothes, huddled in the foetal position with a rather bitter mood.

Christas day was pretty fair. I decided it would be a good idea to stay in bed for a while, as my mother had to sleep downstairs to keep an eye on the two rampant maniacs we brought with us. I had a lil chat with my dad, and eventually was served a lovely Cup of tea in bed along with the subtle suggestion to get my rear downstairs before some appendage of mine was altered in some unpleasent way.

So after we all got up and gathered by the 1 foot plastic table top tree with 3 lights and a drizzle of tinsel, it was decided that it would be best if we didnt open any gifts untill the dinner was set in motion. That is to say, it was best to do what my Mother wanted, or else. As you may have noticed, I seem to be taking a negative look at this years festivities, thats not the case. Ive had a lovely time with my family really, but who doesnt like a good bitch?

Gifts were recived, food was prepared, guests arrived and good times and mad demented Barking at cars was had by all. The evenings entertainment was the usual family around the TV, with an interesting Doctor Who special, a new Wallace and Gromit story, and also Eastenders. Bloody Eastenders. Who freaking cares? Thats the problem with being in someone elses home, you have no say in what you watch.

Today being Boxing day, and after yet another uncomfortable night in the freezer, we enjoyed plenty of leftover turkey sandwiches, carrot casserole, sausage surprise and a zillion other inventive ways of polishing off the insane amount of food that gets left over every single year. While Im all for keeping waste to a minimum, perhaps not buying such a freaking large turkey might help those of us who feel the need to vomit after the 7th Turkey Sandwich with stuffing and cold sprouts.

Although the Apple Sauce really does help.

Anyway, long story short, Its been another Christmas, and while I may be a moody cynical bastard who loves the sound of his own voice, it has been a good one for the family. And thats what its about. Its about everyone around you, not yourself. Its for both your realtions and the friends you see every day, and especially the ones you dont get to see so often.

So very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and for crying out loud, next year lets just send the dogs, and perhaps certain family members to the kennels. lol.

So I'm having a few issues with my computer recently. First of all I tried to install OSX 5.5 on my comp using Bexa's installation CD which came with her laptop. After 2 hours of Grey screen and spinning ball we decided to reboot from scratch and thankfully the computer is back to its old normal state. Another thing which bug's me is the occasional interference late at night, which means that my computer (not the others in the household, as they seem to work fine) can only connect to websites with servers in this country, so D.A., iTunes library, Wow, Bungie, Halfpixel and 50 bajillion other websites don't connect. If anybody has any ideas as to why its just my iMac G5 connected by a Wireless connection, then your insight would be appreciated.

Also I know 1 strip a week is a LAME update schedule, but until I can tear myself away from World of Warcraft long enough to draw something, Its he best I can manage. Adios.

Well, while I'm working on getting a subscription to the full version of World of Warcraft, Ive been busy checking out the Free servers available. Basically as long as you pay for your game like normal, all you do is edit the text in your Realms list file and register a separate account with the free servers website. Your existing official blizzard account is not affecter in the slightest, as they are 2 totally different things. Which means you cant chat, message or transfer any items or stuff from the official game. Plus theres a few quirky little differences, like the monsters shitting tons of items, and you leveling to level 4 and 7 after killing 1 level 1 monster. So its best to look on the free servers as a kind of free beta.

So... Im in love with World of Warcraft And in case your noticing a trend, (Halo 2... 2004, World of Warcraft... 2004) then yes, I only ever play games or buy things which are at least 4 years out of date, 2 reasons. The first is, Im very very cheap. The second is I just never had time when they came out, but considering the fact Ive heard consistently good things for the past 4 years means that its worth checking out.

So yeah, Im currently dwelling on the European Stormrage server, with my characters Brutatis the Tauren Warrior, and Devillo Devi the Undead Warlock. I am certainly getting the full version of the game, maybe even the expansions, so if any of you Iffy Yiffy buggers are abound then let me know so we can hook up and have a blast.

As for me and my dear Brutatis, I thought a bit of exploring would be fun, so I walked from the starting camp in the Middle of Mulgore, wandered across the main roads, and found myself in the Tauren main city of Thunderbluff. Theres the Brewfest going on at the moment, with plenty of free beer and special rewards, so I thought I'd check that out. Obviously though, with no mount it would be a walk, so I set on the main road, wandering through the Desert Barrens, taking a wrong turn and ending up in the Dark Marshy swamps. In fact, I got so lost I ended up wandering into the Human landing zone on the shore. Heh.
Incidentally, I'm a mere lowly level 8, so obviously I was getting totally raped by monsters and enemies so powerful they dint even tell me what level they were. Fun times.

Still, I eventually got back to the Barrens, and set on the right path to the Orc land of Orgrimmar. I'm currently in the Beerfest area, having a few infinite beers, and wondering how the hell I'm going to get all my armor and weapons repaired after they have been totally destroyed in the journey.

Anyway, Im also considering going on a rp server as well for more classical fantasy experience, so anyone on one of those let me know.
