God I love music! What are you all listening to? =)
Posted 12 years agoAs I write this journal I am currently listening to one of the most kick ass songs I've ever had the privilege to hear, 'Sultans of Swing' by Dire Straits. And as I listen to the awe inspiring guitar work I can't help but realize how kick ass music really is.
Now I myself am rather eclectic when it comes to music. As soon as I finish this song I might end up listening to a couple tracks by Ozzy, or maybe the song 'Reptilia' by The Strokes or maybe even something off a movie soundtrack! And it's all because every song and piece of music I listen to serves as a gateway in my mind to images, places and events that my imagination can only create while this gateway is open. I'll especially love this at night as I'm laying down to sleep, eyes closed as the music surges through my body and I'm enthralled by every note and lyric my ears are treated to.
And so my friends here in FA, this leads me to ask (even though this has been asked billions of times already) just what the heck are you all listening to!? And hey, maybe even tell me why you love music so much yourself. =)

Demfox is holding a raffle! WOOT!
Posted 12 years agoLife update: family, work and..holy crap my birthday again!?
Posted 12 years agoThe world is the most insane of all rides and there is no way off! Okay, with that random bit of phrasing now out there....Hello, Greetings, Salutations and Yo Dudes! Hope your all doing well, or at the very least managing to get through the days and still find time to smile and relax at least a little bit.
This has certainly been an interesting time for me out here. First off I need to say that I am STILL not liking the record setting heat we're getting this summer out here in Vegas. x.x Yes I know I choose to live in a desert but I'll still say it....I don't like the heat! Not a fan of it!!
Now for the actual important bits of info on my life. Well a couple weeks ago my family and I got a pretty heavy scare. Ever since I was born I've been lucky enough to live with almost all of my family, included amongst them my grandparents. And while I hate thinking about it...my grandfather isn't well. Fought through throat cancer and still has lung cancer....and I still have to face the fact he's not gonna get better. But a couple weeks back he was so weak he couldn't even move under his own power and could barely breathe. Near middle of the night there we all are watching him be taken off by paramedics to the hospital. I am happy to at least say he's gotten a little better. He can get up on his own again, though he needs a walker to move around unfortunately. And needless to say for my family and I this puts an underlining thread of worry and tension in our minds for every day he still spends at the hospital. I know he probably doesn't have a whole lot of time left. I hate even having to think on it...even the slightest bit....but I at least want him to be at home where he should be for whenever his final days have to come.
Anyways...on to something less melancholy! A co-worker at my workplace (US Bank) is now on a two month leave of absence to help out with his church (he's like an ordained priest or something). Which has led to me getting an awesome boost in hours! This week alone I'm getting 40 hours! They'll go back down to normal once he gets back but until then let the hours turn into cash and my feet ache and bitch at me for having stand in one spot from opening to closing all day long! XD With any luck (and careful saving and such on my part) by the end of it all I'll hopefully have enough saved up to work as a down payment for a new car and can then see about an auto loan! *crosses fingers!*
And last but not least...holy crap it's gonna be my birthday again next Tuesday! Has an entire year of my life really gone by that frickin fast!? Cripes, kinda scary huh? 27 years old and already I'm this messed up. =P
Welp that should just about cover the relevant info about my life for now. Just wanted to post up this update on things for my friends and interested folks around here. Once again, hope your all doing and I look forward to seeing what the next year of my life is gonna have in store for me!

DemFox19240 could use your help!
Posted 12 years agoGreetings everyone of the FA community. I wanted to alert anyone and everyone that I can that
DemFox19240 could really use your help. Medical bills and eye doctors that keep canceling and re-scheduling on her are starting to take their toll and I'm asking anyone who can to head on over to her page and see about helping her out. Here is a link to the original journal of hers explaining the details: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4710847/
She is an amazing artist and all around awesome person. She always delivers quality work if you want to place a commission with her. She offers several different options and prices depending on what your looking for, but she always makes sure the end price is totally fair for what you commission!
Thank you to everyone who takes the time to read this journal then head on over to her page. Like I said, she is an amazing and wonderful person and definitely one of the most talented artists here on FA.

Feeling better and almost birthday time, 26 years folks!
Posted 13 years agoOkay, for those who would be interested to know I am finally doing better with my tourettes. We went to my psychiatrist and he was able to get me, for the moment, back on a medication I used to take for my tourettes but stopped because we thought at the time they were no longer necessary.
It's been a good several days now since I last had a loss of control over my tourettes and I am very happy for it!
And as I also stated, this coming monday is gonna mark my 26th year since my b-day waaayyy back in 1986! Sometimes I still wish I had been born early enough to enjoy the silliness of the 80's..course then I'd miss out more easily on stuff now, or rather not appreciate it as much. Oh well, a guy can still dream of finding his own TARDIS. XD

Okay seriously..tourettes suck!!
Posted 13 years agoI really hope this doesn't annoy people but I just need to get this off my chest. Having tourettes sucks the big one! The past couple days I've been having some really bad new physical ticks...my left leg constantly keeps trying to tense and lock up straight, even while I'm walking...I've already ended up hitting my head against my own door because of it..and just now I actually had to call out from work because of this!! Now in the work area I'm lucky...my managers at work understand the problems of my tourettes and promised me that as long as I just give them heads up I'll be okay with them...but still...the fact my tourettes still affect my life this badly..especially at this point in my life is nothing short of maddening. Sometimes I really want to just drive my head through a wall.
One of these days I'm pretty sure my tourettes are going to end up causing me an actual injury. At that point I'll probably let out the loudest and most vulgar stream of swear words the world has ever seen. Again, sorry if this has bothered any of you, but I had to get it out there.

It's official..I'm even more of a nerd now! XD
Posted 13 years agoI'm still not gonna be showing up to a trek or wars convention dressed up as one of the iconic characters, but I have officially hit a new level in my nerd power!
Lately, thanks to a truly kick ass website known as www.tvnihon.com I have found myself now a full fledged and happy fan of two of Japan's longest running shows. And if you've guessed already that those two shows are Super Sentai and Kamen Rider then I owe you an ice cream cake!
It started with Super Sentai, because me and my buddy Scott are both fans of Power Rangers (I refer to it as our generations version of the campy adam west batman show) and we would often talk about how different the original sentai series were compared to what we got. Then I find TVNihon, find they do really awesome subtitle work for many series of both franchises...and I was effing hooked.
And of course it was only natural that through sentai I would become curious about Kamen Rider, and naturally it too got it's claws into me and is NOT letting go. I am currently following both of the current series. Tokumei Sentai Gobusters and Kamen Rider Fourze and I am very happy with both so far! And surprisingly the folks at tvnihon get the new episodes translated and uploaded to their website rather quickly!
So there you have it...I think I've just leveled up my nerd self and I am all the happier for it! XD And yes..I am already thinking up commissions with Super Sentai and Kamen Rider themes to them.

Thank you Bioware and farewell Commander Shepard
Posted 13 years agoExtremely late last night I sat in my room, staring in wonder and excitement as the final moments of literally the biggest and most ambitious story in gaming history came to it's five year long conclusion. I had finished (My first playthrough ^_^) of Mass Effect 3.
Now sadly I know there are many whining and verbally angry people out there over the ending, but I for one am not ashamed or hesitant to say I viewed it as one of the most beautiful, thought provoking, and indeed wonderfully crafted endings that I have ever been witness to.
The ending brings it to a definite conclusion, but Bioware leaves enough unsaid to keep an air of mystery and imagination for us fans to think upon. There is no doubt in my mind this was the ending the trilogy deserved to go out on.
And even as a wonderful cherry on top, once again the amazing band known as 'Faunts' provided music for the ending credits. And I confess as the music began to play towards the final scenes of the game and into the credits I just sat my controller down, leaned back in my chair and smiled.
So as the subject said, thank you Bioware for every ounce of hard work and imagination you put into this series. And farewell Commander Shepard, you will be missed.

Tomorrow is first interview!
Posted 13 years agoAs I said in my last journal, having finally passed all the testing rounds for the hiring process at zappos.com, I now just have to get through two interviews. The first will be a 20-30 minute phone interview, the second a face-to-face with two people (One from the recruitment team and the other being from human resources). Tomorrow is the phone interview, and while I'm not that nervous (I've been in an enough interviews where I then got hired to know I do well in those situations) naturally it's just the excitement and such of being this close to landing so awesome a job!
I passed I passed I F%#&@^) PASSED!
Posted 13 years agoWooooooo!!! And with that the last test is down and out!! All that's left now is only two interviews. One over the phone, the other a face to face with two people from HR and management. And I know damn well I will kick ass in the interviews! AND once I get through those and get the job I could start the training (PAID training at that!) at the start of April!! So close...so effin close now folks!! xD Now excuse me while I ride this high!
Wish me luck today!!
Posted 13 years agoAt long last today I go into the Zappos.com HQ to take the last test needed to move onto scheduling my interviews. I'm a lot more confident about this test than the grammar one since this test is about navigating the website and placing fake orders for customers. And the process is pretty much going to be how I already do it for customers at Barnes and Noble! But naturally I have some jitters just because this test does mean so much. I really, really, really, REALLY need this job so I'm gonna be keeping my fingers taped crossed today! Wish me luck every one! ^_^
Damn damn damn!
Posted 14 years agoOkay, I need to do this to just get a little frustration out of my system. As some of you may know I'm currently in the process of getting a new and better paying job with zappos.com. I've gotten through the first steps just fine now (multi-step hiring process) and was to take the last test this thursday then I could finally move on to the two interviews. BUT, for the second time I've gotten an e-mail telling me they won't be conducting any tests for the week of my test. -_-
Now it isn't that I can't take the test, and I understand it's probably because their still dealing with some stuff from that hacking attempt on their servers, but I'm still frustrated. I know it's going to be a test I can easily pass (internet skills test..basically finding items, placing orders online for customers which I already do at Barnes and Noble) and really the frustration is all the waiting! I really want and really NEED this new job, and it just royally sucks AND blows having to keep rescheduling something like this. But nothing I can do about it sadly, so I've rescheduled to take the test on the 23rd and now just have to make sure I can get that day off from work.
Now I just gotta hope that third time will be the charm and I'll finally be able to go in and take the test. x.x Keep your fingers crossed for me come the week of the 23rd.

My New Years Resolutions. Two of em!
Posted 14 years agoI have no idea why I am making a journal regarding this but hey I'm just gonna roll with it.
Resolution #1: I am finally going to get serious about losing this goddamned weight! This means doing a workout(bike machine, walking, weights, whatever I can do!) every..single...day. Also, a mental ban on ever letting myself buy out from pretty much anywhere! I'm not gonna deny it..I'm gonna hate it. x.x I'm gonna groan out in annoyance every morning I wake up and force myself to exercise, and I'm gonna probably have to slap myself now and then to resist the temptation for Del Taco or In'N'Out burgers. /_\ Ooooh the first couple months of this is gonna suuuuuuuck!
Resolution #2: I am gonna stop holding myself back and get back to my writing AND finally get serious about teaching myself to draw. All I've been doing is jotting down little one sentence notes for several months now, without even trying to properly write out any of these ideas that I really do want to see written out! The hell with that, time to just sit my butt down and write damn it! Also!! I am sick of also being played with image ideas in that day dreamery place I call a mind. I used to be great at drawing when I was a kid, and I'll be damned if I'm gonna be the only one of my friends that I know who can't draw!
Okay! I think I got myself a little too heated up there...though how I have no idea why. So I'm going to go take a cold shower and then study for the online grammar test for Zappos! If anyone has any advice/words of encouragement I will happily accept them! ^_^;.............Why does liquid courage have to stand for booze!? *heads off to shower*

I'm gonna drown in comic books! Yay! Also update on life!
Posted 14 years agoFirst the kinda important yet maybe slightly boring stuff of my life. To any of my friends here on FA, I'm excited to say I may have a chance at nabbing an actual, full time job. A good one at that very soon! My brother works at Zappos.com for those who know of it, and he alerted me to get my resume ready as it looks like they'll be taking new hires soon, and since he has been working there for a long while now he can definitely put in a major good word for me. [Yay family/friend advantages in the work place!!] So please keep your fingers crossed for me and wish me luck there! But on my current job I'm finally getting back up to those nice, fat paycheck inducing hours that have been in short supply the last several months. So whatever happens with that hopeful zappos job I'm still thankful to have my job at Barnes and Noble. ^_^
Now on the fun, nerdy stuff!! I swear one day I will be found crushed under a mountain of my own comic books....I've already gone and added several more titles! In fact...here's a full list of ALL my current titles I'm reading!!

Big decision has been made..Going Back To School!
Posted 14 years agoOkay, it's not something I'm proud to admit but I won't lie about it. Right after high school I went to community college for two years. And pardon my blunt language but I royally fucked up in my time there. x.x
Ever since then I've been out of school, just trying to focus on work and life in general. Though throughout that time I've racked my brain to the point of borderline insanity over what to do with my life. And many a time in the past year I've asked myself, "Should I give school one more try?" I've asked members of my family and my friends this question, wanting to at least get some outside viewpoints. Some have said I should try, having made the mistakes i've made and seeing where I would need to improve to succeed. Other's have said it might not be a good idea, as if I so easily let myself mess up before what's to stop me this time?
But after a lot of thought, I've made up my mind. Now while I can't go to this fall semester, in the next couple weeks I am going to head down to the campus near my house and speak to the counselors there. I am embarrassed to admit I don't make much money, so one thing I'll talk to them about is possible scholarships/loans etc. that I might qualify for. One I'm surprised I didn't ever figure out was for my Cherokee heritage. I am 1/8 Cherokee which apparently is a rather strong percentage bloodline speaking.
Another reason I have decided to go back is now I actually have an idea of career/major options I could pursue. Now I haven't completely focused it down yes..but at the least I have ideas I can discuss with the counselor so I can figure out what basics to take in preparation for a major.
Now I don't know exactly when I'll be back in school. Greatest hope would be at the earliest the Spring semester. But whatever time I end up going back, I have looked back at all the mistakes I made and have seen the consequences of said mistakes. I am confident this time I can focus myself and make this college deal work. Wish me luck folks! ^_^

Having tourettes can really, truly suck x.x
Posted 14 years agoOkay I don't fully know why I'm writing this but I guess I need a way to vent some of my annoyance at this. When I was 9 I found out I have tourettes syndrome, and since then I've learned to live with this but lately it's like someone evil flipped a switch in my brain to really make them extra crap-tastic. x.x
The ticks I get from my tourettes are basically muscle twitches, primarily either facial muscles or when their really, really hellish bad my shoulders. As of late my lower jaw keeps jerking left and right, and the really frustrating part is I don't know why! By that I mean, my ticks usually only get this bad when something is really stressing me out or I'm anxious about something. But for the life of me I cannot figure out why their so bad lately! Right now it feels like my jaw is ready to come unhinged and I would probably welcome it at this point. x.x I am sorry if this was nothing more than an annoying journal of me whining..but like I said I just need a way to vent out some of my annoyance at all this. I've had roughly over 16 years to get used to tourettes, but damned if I wouldn't weep from pure joy if I found out it went away forever. =P
The ticks I get from my tourettes are basically muscle twitches, primarily either facial muscles or when their really, really hellish bad my shoulders. Need your help to decide next story!
Posted 14 years agoOkay, I'm happy to say I've gotten three new stories partially started. By that I mean I've got notes for them all jotted down as well as a couple small paragraphs here and there of random moments to help me flesh out exactly what I want. But this is the weird part...I really can't decide which one I really wanna tackle first! SO! With that being said I want to give just a quick description on each of the three stories [no spoilers so don't panic!] and then I want to hear your opinions on which one you the readers would like to see next.
Story one: This story is something of a...'sequal' to my Halloween two-parter from last year. I was genuinely surprised not only by how much readers liked it but by how much fun I had writing horror! I will say it will again dwell within a theme of Lovecratian and possibly Clive Barker styles.
Story two: This story here I confess was definitely inspired/influenced by my love of the Assassin's Creed games. However it is NOT my version of an AC story or anything like this. The closest similarity is that there is an assassin/vigilante type character in the story whose movements/methods do take inspiration from AC. The setting/world of the game would be a style of steampunk and fantasy.
Story three: This last story is probably a unique one among the types I've tried before. The story is a blend of sci-fi with believe it or not some detective/private eye style noir to it. The setting would be something of the...not close but not too distant future. I guess to sum it up it would be my first foray into the realm of 'cyberpunk'.
There you have it! I know this is more than likely a strange request of you folks but honestly this is one of those decisions that's so tough I just dun wanna make it! ^_^' SO I'm gonna have you guys decide for me. =P And I give my word to everyone whatever story is chosen I shall go at it full force and make as amazing a story as I possibly can to thank you all!

Posted 14 years agoI already knew this back in Octobor of last year...but dear lord almighty! Not just the insanely awesome video games coming out this year still...L.A. Thor...Kung Fu Panda 2...Super 8...Troll Hunter...Transformers...Green Lantern...Cars 2...Captain America...Rise of the Planet of the Apes...and Apollo 18! Dear God....sometimes it can really really HURT financially to be a nerd/geek x.x That isn't to say I WILL see all of these...but odds are extremely heavy that I'll end up seeing most of em thats for damn sure...same for the games. I'm doomed....utterly doomed. ^_^;

Not since Hitler has our country universally hated someone so much and I am happy to say the bastard is dead and we have his body. And for anyone out there who may try to tell me not to gloat about this or whatever...screw you!! This death has been a long time coming and to every loser member of the taliban out there -gives you all the giant middle finger of ownage-
There are gonna be a lot of american flags flying come tomorrow morning and rightly so! God Bless the United States of America!

A tag journal!? Holy crap o.O
Posted 14 years agoWow...I actually got tagged for one of these things? huh...welp! Let the self humiliation begin!!
The Rules:
- You must post these rules.
- Each tagged person must post 10 things about themselves on their journal.
- You have to choose and tag 10 people and post their icons on the same journal.
- Go to their pages and tell them you tagged them!
Things about me then...
1. I consider myself a liberal conservative. Those DO exist so don't even try to disagree!
2. I firmly believe there are three things you are NEVER too old to enjoy=Video games, comic books, and cartoons!
3. I hate political correctness. Worse thing to happen to society in my lifetime!
4. I actually wanna try some of the stunts/craziness I've seen in the Jackass movies. =P
5. My big fandom is Transformers. Giant effin robots rule!!
6. I will never willingly see a 'pg-13' horror movie.
7. I love to watch wrestling! Soap operas for men and it rules!
8. I want a penguin, bat, and otter as pets. o.o
9. I am scared of heights. x.x skyscrapers intimidate me...
10. I want superpowers..specifically either flight OR super speed. =)
Tagging:
Aw crap...umm...I can't think up ten so please don't hit me!! x.x

Posted 14 years agoYou know...working in retail can be hectic. Luckily I work at a job that rather consistently will post our weekly schedules like..two weeks in advance and such, which makes it easier at this job to plan out stuff since I don't have to wait till the last minute to find out. Thing is i'm like the only guy in my department of the store I work in that has complete open availability it seems...so lately I've been getting a LOT of long hour shifts and such. I'm not complaining really cause it all equals out to fatter paychecks, but still it can be hectic feeling. x.x; One day I even had to work closing and then be back the very next morning to open..and I can tell you those kinds of schedules definitely don't feel fun.
Advice wanted: Selling my comic books
Posted 14 years agoAs any of my friends can tell you I am a major comic book fan!! Recently though, in an effort to actually be better at saving my money I've reduced the number of titles I'm currently reading down to only a few different titles. And by doing so, I've gone back and seen that over the many years of fandom I have amassed quite a large amount of back issues...some I think I may not have even read yet! So I am here asking if anyone on FA might have ideas/advice on how to properly sell these off somehow. I'd rather not just throw these comics away, but I doubt my comic store would be able to or willing to take them all off my hands even for store credit. Help? o.O
DC Universe Online is mine!
Posted 15 years agoOkay I confess..I caved in and bought the damn thing for my PS3. And I am VERY happy I did so! It took me a little while to figure out some of the controls, adjust some settings to my preference...but otherwise I am already enjoying the game immensely! And yes..I had a huge amount of fun in the character creation part! If anyone wants to know, I decided to make a Hero for my first character, a speedster/fire power type to be exact!
If anyone wants to join me online (I don't know if PC players can interact with PS3 players x.x) I made this character on the 'Crisis' server. I have to save up for either a headset or at least the keyboard pad for my controller though o.o Anyways, happy gaming!!

DC Universe Online...should I get it?
Posted 15 years agoOkay, as many of my friends both on FA and in RL will testify I am a MAJOR comic book fan! Flash, Green Lantern, Transformers, Ultimate Marvel, Darkwing Duck, hell their how I learned to read. So naturally, DCUO has me definitely curious! I'm obviously considering buying it, probably for my PS3 considering the look of how it plays. But I admit I'm not completely sure yet.
So I wanted to know if there's anyone else here who plays it? If so how is it? I am gonna be reading up on it of course, but nothing works like first hand accounts. So let me know if any of ya can. Hell we may end up meeting up there. Course if one of us is a villain and the other a hero character..that would be awkward. =P
