Hi all,

Last week, one of our students was shot directly in the face and he is fighting for his life. A little background about the school in which I work--over half the students come from free and reduced lunch, meaning they cannot afford the school lunches, and come from a very low-income household. We see many students who come to school just to receive their free breakfast and lunch every day, who oftentimes don't care about their education because they're simply attempting to make it to the next day. Statistically, kids who come from this background have a history of bad behavior and future bad behavior, or at least they continue to live in a cycle of poverty.

This particular student defied all odds, all statistics against him. He's supposed to be bound for college with a football scholarship. He loves his friends, loves his family, loves his teacher, and appreciates his education. He's supposed to go somewhere, be something. This has been taken away from him, and we are all devastated. I have watched my students sob in class, have to leave only to come back red- and puffy-eyed when they return. This student was loved by all, and was brutally shot in the face attempting to step in and prevent someone from being robbed. He was shot doing the right thing. No kid deserves this.

Currently, he's fighting, and has been for days. As a result, his medical bills have racked up daily. Our school community is trying to raise funds to help with his medical bills. If you can donate anything, I am BEGGING you to do so. If you cannot, I implore you to pass this on. Please. Our community would be forever grateful for your help. If you can only donate a little, #26 is his football number, and that would mean a LOT.

To not only allow hard working teachers to keep their jobs, but to make sure equally hard working students don't lose their credits, have to move to continue their education, or even possibly lose student visa's in the case of foreign students.

Hey everyone. By now most of you have heard of the horrific events in Las Vegas last night. As some of you may know my family and I live in the vegas valley, so just wanted to take a moment to say my family and I are all safe, along with my friends out here.

What happened last night was.....Look, you read about these terrible tragedies happening in the world, in the United States, and it's horrifying. But it's true what I've heard...you never really understand until it happens in your own backyard. I know the danger has passed, I and my family and friends weren't personally affected but still it....I barely slept a wink last night, and today my tourettes are acting up from how this is all making me feel.

I'm not gonna go into politics, not here and now, too soon to do so. All I can say...and may God forgive me for the second part....is first off, please, whatever your beliefs, you're political affiliations, whatever....please spare a prayer, even a wish of hope for the victims and their families. These people came to Vegas just to have a simple good time at a music festival and this nightmare just falls down on them.

Second...and again may God forgive me for feeling this way...but I'm glad the cowardly gunman who did this is dead and gone. Whatever problems he may have been having, however small however big, not a single problem he had justifies his actions in any way, shape, or form. And the fact he killed himself when the authorities were closing in proves he was a coward who deserves whatever punishment awaits him in the next life.

Okay, that's enough of that. Most importantly, again, spare a thought or a prayer for the victims of this tragedy. If you can do so please consider donating to red cross or any of the donation projects currently set up for the victims. I wish all of you who read this good fortune and safe travels, to you and your families and friends.

Okay yeah it's about damn time I updated this journal with some good news! Let's get right into it!

I have a great new job working for a bank out here in Nevada, and I've gotten through the lengthy training process and have already completed my second week at my home branch. My coworkers are all very nice, the customers for the most part have proven to be polite and friendly, and I see a lot of opportunity for future advancement in the company! Something that will actually let me build up a real career at long last and work towards a good future for my later years. So yeah!

I've officially kicked the soda habit! I've gone cold turkey on the stuff (even though it's so damn good) in order to make me feel healthier and better about myself. It's been tough but I've already gone three full weeks without a drop of the stuff!

So there you go, much better info than my last journal, right? I'm looking forward to everything going forward and damn it I am not going to let life get me down again!

Okay, I'm not exactly comfortable doing this but things are getting pretty darn desperate for me here. I created a GoFundMe account in the hopes of getting help with my bills over here in real life. And so I'm posting the link to it here. I know it's asking a lot of people, to actually give some of their own hard earned money to help me out with my problems. But I figure at the very least it can't hurt to ask.

However, I do believe I have some way of repaying anyone who donates. While it's been a long while since I've posted anything here I do still enjoy writing. Hey all, so this is definitely a journal posting that's going to make me feel kind of awkward. Okay, so while a few things are finally improving for me RL there are still some major obstacles and dangers in front of me. I do have a part time job now, but sadly it's not giving me many hours. I am looking for a second job to either go alongside it or replace it if I can find a rare full time position.

However, sadly in the meantime bills are gonna keep coming through. Fortunately there aren't many but they are important ones still. And sadly I was unemployed for so long that even with this job my funds are running lower and lower. And so I come to you folks here to ask for advice on a move I'm thinking of taking.

In order to keep myself floating above water, at least a little, I'm actually thinking of trying like a go fund me sort of thing. Now obviously I haven't done anything like that yet, and this is where my questions for advice come in.

Is this something that can work?

Would it make sense for me to do it? At least until I can get that second job in place.

If I should do it, how long should I try it for?

There are probably other questions I should ask concerning this but right now my mind is so frazzled I can't think of them. So yes, if anyone has any advice on this or even something else I could do to help myself in the meantime please feel free to speak up here. Finally after months of applying to job after job I finally get hired for one! Gonna be working at Gamestop now, and in fact it's the one I sued to work at a few years back too so it'll feel a little nostalgic for me. But man it feels like a weight is off my shoulders now after getting that phone call and getting offered that job. Feels like things are getting back on track for my life.

I've only just turned on my computer for the day and this is the first thing I read about. Horrifying doesn't even begin to describe this. All I can do is hope and pray for the families and loved ones of the victims and for the well being of the survivors.

Hey there all! Man I have been having such a great day today that I just have to share! It all started earlier this morning when, on the way to the movies, I finally get a call back from one of the many jobs I've been applying to and set up a job interview for this Tuesday! I've been getting so worried and while I know this doesn't mean I have the job just the fact someone finally called back means so much!

And to keep the good news going I just got home from seeing Zootopia which I am happy to say really delivered on the entertainment! It was a gorgeously animated movie with great characters, great voice acting and a great story. Basically; The movie was great!

And later today I get to look forward to some awesome take out dinner with friends and binge watching Doctor Who together! WOOO I officially love this day!

So a couple days ago I decided to finally (and maybe too late) download Second Life, seeing as I now have a comp and graphics card that should be able to run it smooth enough to have fun with it. So I have my account and such all set up...but unfortunately I now have no idea what to do! I really want to get to meeting fun folks and role playing with them via this awesome looking method, but I don't know how to create/get a proper avatar for my character or the best places to go and such.

So if anyone reading this journal knows a thing or two about SL I would really appreciate any advice/tips/help you can give. ^_^

First off, yesterday was my b-day and it was great! Got myself some roundtable pizza, a ton of new comic books and a couple games from Gamestop so yeah!!

But on to the big news, gonna be attending my first convention ever at the end of August, and it's gonna be Power Morphicon! http://officialpowermorphicon.com/

That's right, a convention for all of us fans that grew up with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the many series afterwards, as well as us fans who fell in love with the Super Sentai series they were all based upon. Me and my best bud are gonna be driving down to Pasadena Friday the 22nd and attend all three days of the convention. If I'm lucky maybe I'll score some kick ass custom posters or prints. Either way, it's gonna be an awesome time. And this year is already jam packed with guest stars galore! Definitely can't wait for the end of August to get here now!

This morning I took my pet cat Luna, whom I raised for 15 years since she was a kitten, to the vet because she was just in obvious pain...she couldn't even walk or stand up right.

I ended up having to have her put down.


It doesn't feel entirely real yet...as I sit here I keep expecting to hear her mrow out from behind me or see her sleeping on my bed in the sunlight coming in from the open window blinds.

She was always there for me. Good times, bad times...joy through heartache and everything in between.

I know I did the right thing...the veterinarian said at she had maybe a few months on her own. And I did not want her to live in pain....but still, it hurts so much.

All I can do is be thankful that now she is beyond hurt. She is with my grandfather now, and I know someday I will get to see her again.

I love you little Luna. Thank you for being such a wonderful part of my life.
