Please help to donate if you can for the surgery to help her recover. The furry convention "The End of the World Convention" is providing a site to donate and is offering to match up to $1000 for her as well. The site to donate is over at https://www.furryendoftheworld.com/?nav=fundraiser
She's also offering an auction for a guaranteed spot on her fursuit queue list to help raise funds, you can read it on her journal over here as well: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4046449/
Alive? Only 90%...
Posted 13 years agoWow, there's been quite a hiatus between this update and the last one.
Well, it's going to be broken soon I hope. I will probably be uploading a couple of gift arts I have received over the past couple of months (thanks to
skyryd3r and
rogue) and be posting some pics of DL suit doing Halloween rounds.
If you pop by
nightdragon0's account, you can get a glimpse of some spoiler Halloween pictures for DL. ;)

Kaiju Combat Kickstarter... a quasi Macro game?
Posted 13 years agoI was surfing along the gaming news channels till I came across this KickStarter Project... Kaiju Combat.
http://www.kickstarter.com/projects.....2/kaiju-combat
Kaiju Combat is the final word in giant-monster battle games. It features:
1-4 player battles in awesome environments.
Frequent releases of new content (monsters, stories, game modes) which can be added to your existing game, or purchased as stand-alone products!
Online matchmaking & tournament play. LAN support too.
DRM-free PC release (console release date TBA, based on initial funding)
Dynamic grappling, melee, ranged weapons, flight, burrowing, teleportation, dizzies, air combos, OTG hits, reversals, parries, super moves & more!
Hmm, if you pledge quite a fair bit of money ($500), you can even get your character in it! XD
Might want to spread the word for this among macro furs, who knows who else might wanna get this.

AC 2012 Con Summary
Posted 13 years agoWell, it is about time I get to this now that the con is over and my memories as always are already starting to fragment.
Quick summary for TL;DR people:
AC 2012 was a ground breaking con for me. Met so many new people, finally saw old ones in person after a 2 year hiatus and I had a great fursuiting time! A friend commented that I have a very large circle of friends and acquaintances with different interests to meet at the con, and that is so true!
Just in case if you readers already didn’t know, the main reason why DarkLurker fursuit wasn’t at AC this year was because I had
qing-long packed with me for the con as it is the Year of the Dragon! It was great to introduce him around and play around with other attendees and as well as Pittsburgh residents! The weather at Pittsburgh is a cake walk compared to the weather back home, and Qing Long was easy to move around and interact with. I would like to give special props to
skyryd3r who I finally get to meet properly, it’s just a pity I didn’t manage to get to take a photo with him and Cornwall in suit!
The trip to AC:
Our little fur group took off on Tuesday local time on a 23 hour flight including layovers. Once again, I was flying with Delta as they had the shortest travel times and was the cheapest. However, they had removed the free 2nd checked bag that International flights from Asia used to have, so I wound up buying an extra bag space that was needed to bring Qing Long over, and I used a roller carryon for most of my clothes. The roller carryon is a chore on domestic flights as the storage bins were constantly full and it didn’t help that I was always bumped into the last Zone 3 for boarding.
Otherwise, the flight there was only marred by the fact that Agriculture decided to take the bwa quah that I brought over despite it being sealed an all. Oh well, wanted to share that with the folks at AC as it is really excellent BBQ Pork jerky. Still, there was plenty of little food and tidbits to go around. Once at Pittsburgh airport, the van cab was just nice to fit all of us and our luggage to the hotel, and was a bit cheaper than the Super Shuttle.
Pre-con (Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday):
Tuesday was mostly rest and recovery and Wednesday I brought the other local furs with me on a little sightseeing trip around downtowns Pittsburgh on some of their landmarks. By mid-day though, the hotel lobby was starting to get packed with furries and I believe there was a grey wolf fursuit out in the lobby already on Wednesday night!
Thursday was when the stream of people came in and the place started filling up! One of the silliest highlights of the day was that I just set out of my hotel room in search of Uncle Kage to pass him a little sake… and as luck would have it, I immediately bumped into him in the elevator on the way down. The elevator was almost full, but a gift of Rashomon Junmai Daiginjo got us into the packed elevator! He was really stressed at that point in time though due to the lack of radio communication and I would hope that this little booster would have cheered him up a little.
Thursday night was also time I finally suited in Qing Long at the con! Bumped into Finn in the lobby and had pictures taken before we headed out to check out the fursuit dances! I didn’t prepare the anti-fog properly so was nearly blind in the dances so I decided to step out and chill out in the headless lounge first before returning to the hotel and calling it a night.
Day One (Friday):
The next day started off in Qing Long after breakfast, and got to Opening Ceremonies. I was lucky enough to have a fursuit badge 123 in yellow after queuing up, and was presented by none other by the venerable Grandma Kage! I also had a picture taken of Qing Long and the inflatable blue dragon that was in the Ballroom, and with several other Japanese fursuiters. It was definitely quite an experience!
Next, I met up at the Dragon’s Den and finally bumped into Ronnie in Sparky and Cornwall dragon and had a blast talking with them. I really regret not wearing Qing Long to that meet as it would have been so much fun and more photos to be had. Unfortatuntely, the Fursuit Meet and Greet afterwards turned out to be a bust as I think the event hosts weren’t there and it was basically a simple game of toss ball in fursuits in the room. I decided to stop over at Ronnie’s dance tutorial meet for a bit before I noticed some damage on my fursuit sandals and had to desuit and make minor repairs to that.
Once out of suit and back to the registration line in the CC, I bumped into Tarns. He was trying to locate Tyrnn and move their stuff over to their room, as Tarns didn’t have Tyrnn’s mobile or internet access to communicate. It took a while, but I finally got them to the Marriot Courtyard hotel where we hanged out for a while before I returned to my room.
With all that, I missed out completely on buying stuff at the Dealer’s Den and Artist Alley for the day though as I was in suit for so long! Still, the suiting was fun and I had fun interacting and meeting up with people that I haven’t met in a really long time.
I regrouped with smyle and had dinner was at Indo Fusion place, led on by Tzup and his friends. The food to be honest there was pretty poor, but still, I finally met into Wyoon there and had a nice chat over dinner.
At night, it was the awesome macro party by
Aerys which was just down the hall from my room! I helped
Tyrnn get into suit in my room as the macro party room was simply overloaded with people and he would need some space! It was the first time I saw his suit too and it’s really neat, and would be perfect in macro stompy pictures! I brought some B horror movie victims for Tyrnn and Artie as well as Tarns to play around with as well as a giant inflatable globe for Tyrnn to get stomp about and smash in the Zoo. Rogue also visited briefly, and in the moment, I forgot to ask him to autograph my copy of his book!
After Tyrnn desuitted, I promptly got drunk and wasted while interacting with the folks at the party. I don’t think I ever stumbled like this before, even though mentality I’m was still pretty overwhelming conscious of my drunken state and of the headache and red flush I was getting. Friday was just a great day overall!
Day Two (Saturday):
After a quick bout of buying in the Dealer’s Den and Artist Alley buying stuff (and finally bumping into
Aikenwolf’s Victor on the elevator), it was time to head over to join the fursuit parade! Hall A was great, it was cool, even cooler than the headless lounge IMO, and I finally got to see Bryagh dragon there. Never did quite catch him out of suit though. ;)
After the fursuit parade, I went out looking for the Japanese film crew that were looking for international travelers to the con, but Mik got to that line before me and I think a Neko would be a better fit for Singapore rather than a dragon so I let him have enjoy it. I can’t wait to see when that program is broadcasted and seen! :D
At night, it was Uncle Kage’s Story Hour as usual for every con, and then back to hanging around at the Zoo with friends. I had to crash for a couple of hours at night as jetlag finally caught up with me, but still was able to catch up with Mia, Person and the macro group in the Zoo in the late hours of the night and I finally got a little vore art in my sketchbook with many thanks to mrPerson! :)
Day Three (Sunday):
There wasn’t any activities/panels for me on Sunday save for the charity performance and closing ceremonies, so I basically went and splurged on the zoo with last day purchases. Most of the commissions by then were take home, so it’ll probably be a while before I get them.
By the afternoon though, I went into suit and popped in for the charity performance. I had hoped that Uncle Kage would have remembered to bring his sake on stage, but I guess Riesling was more of his taste of the moment! It was a nice show and I finally got the chance to present my surprise second bottle of sake as a present to him in Qing Long. I certainly hope he’s able to enjoy both! ^_^
After that, it was mostly closing ceremonies and a few random photo taking sessions before it was time to desuit for me.
smyle had a crazy idea to go for dinner in fursuit, but as it was a Sunday and a number of nearby places were closed, we eventually made the fairly long track to Primanti Bros to eat.
We were stopped several times for photos and I’m amazed he was able to last that long. I also met with
goldenbullet666 then and had him along with dinner with us.
I must admit the walk back was a little tense for me, the Strip District which looks fine daytime is a little creepy at night, but we made it back just fine. Then it was off to the zoo for me for the last night of mingling and catch any last fursuits at the Dead Dog Party.
During the zoo though, I had Dingoroo do a nice “live” sketch drawing of Qing Long, and I was able to glimpse the awesome gift art that DNAplamhead was drawing for me, I can’t wait for him to finish that and post it up. :)
Post-Con (Monday/Tuesday):
There wasn’t much left for me to do on Monday except find folks and send them off. Ran into many friends and give them hugs before they left.
Skyryd3r was awesome enough to do two sketches on the spot for Qing Long and I really need to get them scanned and uploaded so soon as possible. XD
Things pretty much quieted down in the evening, and I tried out Sushi Kim for the first time. It is kinda pricey in my opinion, but it was adequately filling. After that, it was mostly packing and getting ready to go home on Tuesday. I must admit I’m surprised to still see a pair of fursuiters in the Westin lobby at night, the last bits of the furry activity at the con I suppose!
I'm surprised we managed to squeeze into a single cab van and get to the airport. I definitely grab a van cab if I’m travelling with more than a couple of bags Somehow, all 5 of us and our next AC I go!
The trip home:
The flight back home was uneventful, although that despite my through checks of the room and baggage, I somehow seem to have misplaced by house keys. I would like to thank all the people working hard at Anthrocon 2012 to make the event work as well as it did despite the hiccups backstage, and to all the people that I have met. I apologize again if I didn’t mention your name here as there were just too many faces and my memory is really crappy! I also do want to give shout-outs to MrPerson, DNA, DingoRoo and Ronnie for their generous gift arts to a silly dragon, and Tyrnn for that tiny squishable planet!

Posted 13 years agoFinally got back home. Baggage and stuff seems okay, fursuit is okay but tenant blew up half the electrical applications in the house while I was gone. Thank goodness I had disconnected the bulk of my room's electrical from the mains, only lost a single power strip.
Rest now, salvage work tomorrow!

And arrived at Anthrocon!
Posted 13 years agoAs title stated, now the waiting game for all the furs to arrive begins.
Would anybody be bringing any macro fursuit props? :D
Posted 13 years agoJust curious as I'm running pretty short on space, and was wondering if anybody at the con is going to bring some macro furry props for silly photographs, you know miniature people, vehicles, what have you not. :P
Anthrocon 2012 Meme
Posted 13 years agoAbout time one of this gets posted...
How do you want to be addressed?
Dark, DL, DarkLurker all works or just a "hey you".
Gender?
Male
Age?
Mid life crisis age!
What do you look like?
5'10" and somewhat pudgy (need to work on that weight loss, I typically lose 2 pounds at AC alone).
I should be very easy to spot, probably somewhat drowsy or confused most of time. Turns lobster red when exposed to even small doses of alcohol.
Where/how can I find you?
Not quite sure, probably be wandering around. I would try to get data roaming up, so you might want to drop messages on Twitter or Facebook for me to check. Let me know if there's another popular message system. I'm sure you guys won't want international SMS... :P
How are you getting there?
Delta Airlines. 10,000 miles. ~22-24 hours in the airline system. D: Then sharing a cab to the hotel.
What hotel are you staying at?
Westin hotel, just a regular Twin room.
Which days will you be attending?
I'm arriving Tuesday night, departing Tuesday morning.
Do you do art requests / trades / commissions and have any merchandise?
Nope. But, you might get a dose of crazy Southeast Asian food. If have poor tolerance for spicy food, be warned!
Who will you be with?
Rooming with
smyle and
ran-dae.
I haven't quite figured out the rest of the meetups in the various interest groups though, inform this poor dragon! XD
What is your main purpose for attending?
There is a bottle of sake that needs to be delivered in person to a certain cockroach...
Can I talk to you?
Sure, I'm kinda shy in first meet situations and may not be much of a chatter but will get progressively more chatty once get used to it!
Can I take pictures with you?
If you like my ugly mug shot! D:
Can I touch/hug/cuddle you?
Hand shakes definitely. Hugs are mostly ok most of the time, but please don't squeeze me... I'm still working on eradicating some muscle issues.
Can I hang out with you?
Sure!
Do you go to parties?
Depends on who going!
Do you fursuit/costume?
I do fursuit but DarkLurker the dragon won't be there this year. D:
What is the best way to reach you?
Twitter would probably work best. I'm thedarklurker on Twitter. I probably check in on Facebook, Furaffinity and MSN/AOL but the later is subject to battery life of mobile phone!
Anything else?
Hoping to meet up with more awesome dragon and dragon suits at this year Anthrocon! :D

I probably won't be bringing DarkLurker the dragon fursuit this year though, although there would another fursuit in my group to make up for it!
Edit: Corrected a typo in the journal post. I should double check some of the sentences that I post at 3 AM in the morning!

Posted 14 years agoI'll be missing AC 2011 unfortunately due to RL circumstances (although I hope I'll be able to make AC 2012) ... and that led me to recall something:
My first in person real life meet with anyone furry was 4 years ago, 10,000 flying miles away, across the Pacific Ocean, crossing 12 Time Zones.
I must be insane. XD

Posted 14 years agoIs it just my Firefox settings or is my FA display picture/avatar constantly resetting itself back to the Chinese New Year display picture (http://www.furaffinity.net/view/1916039/)? @_@

Posted 14 years agoAny fur going to book a Delta flight soon? I have a small transferable ~USD$60 eCredit voucher that I'll like to trade away.

I wants... Hoard! (the game)
Posted 14 years agoThe description is enough:
--
YOU are the Dragon:
- Burn Villages!
- Kidnap princesses!
- Collect treasure!
- Roast pesky knights!
- Compete with other Dragons in epic multiplayer battles!

---
Sounds pretty neat for a casual minigame, although I would like a Godzilla mode! Hopefully it be up on the PC soon...
