Messy Mercury 20th Anniversary: "Before and After"
Posted 2 years agoHey everyone!
It was 20 years ago today that I (hastily) completed and presented my fan made Felix the Cat cartoon, "Messy Mercury" to my 9th grade Science class. The film itself has been up on YouTube since its 10th anniversary in 2013, but I thought I should give a little "before and after" comparison to address one of the flaws that I had to correct when preparing the film for online viewing, namely the re-recording of certain lines of dialogue to make up for bad audio edits. Presented here for the first time is the original unedited scenes from 2003, followed by the cleaned up version from 2013.
And as always, the full film can be viewed here.

Wow, has it been a while since I posted here. Anyways, I came across a new show that Disney has out called, "Two More Eggs" which is a series of one minute shorts that make little to no sense, but are as funny as hell. Right now, it's just a web series, but it will be airing on Disney XD later this year. And it's produced by the creators of Homestar Runner (Matt and Mike Chapman aka the Brothers Chaps - Matt is a writer for "Wander Over Yonder", another Disney XD show). Here's a couple of my favourites:
Enjoy!

Back from Anthrocon 2014!
Posted 11 years agoHey gang!
I know it's been a few days, but I just want to let you guys know that Anthrocon was a real blast this year. It was great seeing old friends again, everyone loved seeing
roxycoon in her cute little outfit and the recording of
poinktweasel's stand up went over pretty well. HUGE thanks to my camera crew (
slaphappybunny,
craftyandy,
ccritt93,
bavarian and
namrepus221) for helping me out with this. We're hoping to have this show released just in time for Christmas. More info to follow later. I also want to thank the folks at Radio Unifurse and the Rabbit Hole (
bluecanary,
thesonicgod,
howler) as well as for giving me the opportunity to film their show and I look forward to doing it again next year.
Another special thanks to
timkangaroo,
kturtle and
lilifox for giving me the opportunity to do what turned into a sort of mini Pony Lennon concert. You guys are all awesome! Hopefully we'll see each other at MFF!
I still kind of wish I was able to get my picture with Jim Cummings, but with the huge lineups that he had at the Dealer's Den, I was unable to do that. Perhaps if I see him at another convention or something, I'll see if I can do that. I did attend one of Lee Tockar's panels for a bit though, so yeah. Other than that, I really enjoyed this year's AC and hopefully I will see you all at MFF this December! Peace out!

Anthrocon Meme (Oh, why the heck not!) :0D
Posted 11 years agoStolen, er…borrowed from
lilifox. I skipped a few questions that I feel don't really need to be answered.
So, as you know, AC is this week and I thought I'd fill out this little meme thing here. Now pay attention!
Where will you be staying?
Doubletree
When will you be arriving?
Wednesday Afternoon, I believe
How long will you stay?
Until Monday
How will you travel to/from the convention?
Riding along with local furs
Who are you rooming with?
Jess Hillard aka Jackalope Jess, her boyfriend and one of Jess's friends
Who will you hang out with during the convention?
Lots of people. There are too many to list, but I'll mainly be with people that I normally don't see very often and close friends. Looking forward to seeing people like
maxgoof and
bobbythornbody, as well as
poinktweasel,
bluecanary,
kturtle and
timkangaroo.
Where will you be most of the time during the convention?
Pretty much everywhere. I tend to be a wanderer most of the time, but I'm always up for hanging out with people.
Which panels and events do you plan to attend?
Well, for one,
poinktweasel's stand up show seeing as I will be recording it for an album and a DVD, so be sure to come out and be a part of that. I will also be a musical guest at the MLP panel with
lilifox,
timkangaroo and
kturtle. I will also be filming the Radio Unifurse show on Sunday for
bluecanary, The Sonic Gott and Romeo Rabbit.
Are you doing anything in keeping with the convention’s theme?
Nah. I don't normally do that unless the theme is of interest to me.
Will you suit up?
Of course! Why wouldn't I? I'll be bringing
roxycoon and she'll be wearing her cute little acrobat's outfit: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12965232/. She might even stop by the FPS on Sunday for a possible live subservient segment, but we'll see. There is also a possibility that I will be running around as a big purple Care Bear so watch for her, too!
Will you perform?
Yes sir! Roxy Raccoon will be joined by
lilifox and
machozi in the masquerade! Also, I will be debuting a new pony parody from the pen of Pony Lennon at the MLP panel and there might be an encore performance if there is time.
Will you go to parties?
If I am invited, sure!
Do you drink?
Very rarely. I may have a beer here and there, but diet soda and Yoo-Hoo are my American drinks of choice.
Do you smoke?
That is a big, resounding NO! I wouldn't even dare to touch that stuff! Also, if you're around me and choose to smoke, please keep it to a minimum. I do not enjoy second hand smoke.
What/where will you eat?
Definitely Fernando's! Their lasagna wraps are just to die for! Plus whatever other fast food places/eateries are around in the area. I'm hoping to do sort of a birthday dinner meet after closing ceremonies on Sunday, seeing that my birthday falls on that day!
Can I come with you for food, fun, etc.?
Sure, as long as you ask first!
What is the best way to contact you?
Send me a DM on Twitter. Or if you'd like my e-mail address, send me a note here on FA.
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Holler my name, or just shout "YO DANNY D!" DO NOT GROPE ME! I do not like surprise hugs, especially if I don't really know you!
What do you look like?
Slightly bulgy build with a goatee and hair often worn in a ponytail. Kind of like BBF, but younger and without glasses.
How tall are you?
5' 11"
How old are you?
25 turning 26 on Sunday!
What is your gender?
I'm a hairy beast, so what do you think LOL!
Are you taken? Are you looking for a mate?
No and I'm not looking!
Can I talk to you?
If I'm not too busy, sure. I can get quite shy at first, but I usually warm up the longer I engage in a conversation.
Can I touch you?
Only if it's in a non-creepy way. Otherwise, no!
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Hugs are always welcome when I'm in suit. Out of suit, only people that I really know, please. As far as snuggles go, please ask first. I am VERY selective with who I snuggle with, so please do not be offended if I say no.
Can I dance with you?
Not really a dancer, but if I'm in suit and I hear some good music playing, I don't see why not.
Can I visit your room?
Why even ask that question when the answer is quite obvious?
Can I buy you drinks?
If it's non alcoholic, then by all means, be my guest! I especially love Yoo-Hoo!
Can I give you stuff?
If you're generous enough, then go right ahead! After all, this is my birthday con, so I definitely appreciate gifts: art, food, drinks, etc. But if you're REALLY generous enough, if you can find me a copy of either Mountain's "Twin Peaks", The Red Hot Chili Peppers' "I'm With You" or Molly Hatchet's first album (one with an orange Epic label, not the blue ones that they used later) on vinyl, I will love you forever!
Can I take your picture?
Sure, I don't mind!
What should I not do around you?
Anything that makes me feel uncomfortable ie. inappropriate touching, performing/discussing fetishy type things, drugs, groping (big one for sure) or talking back at me!
Are you nice?
I generally am unless you piss me off, so behave yourself!
Are you cliquey?
In a way, yes. I generally go to cons to hang out with friends and close acquaintances. If I don't know you that well, then I won't be very sociable around you.
Do you have art in the art show?
I'm honestly not sure if my art is even good enough to be purchased, even though I have improved my art skills throughout the past seven years I've been around this website.
Do you have an item in the charity auction?
Would have loved to have one, but no.
Do you have an artist table?
No. I tried it at AC one year and barely got any sales, so I kind of gave up on that.
Do you do free art?
I will not be doing art of any kind at this con, sadly.
Do you do trades?
See above
Do you do badges?
See above
Do you do commissions?
See above
Might I find you at other upcoming conventions?
I'm sure you will. I generally try to make MFF every year, which is really the only other con I attend. Plus being that it's in December this year, it really gets me excited for the holiday season.
What are your goals for the convention this year?
Buy some more furry produced CDs and DVDs, maybe commission art, hang out with friends, fursuit as much as I can, have fun and most importantly, make sure this year's recording of
poinktweasel's stand up goes off without a hitch! Hopefully we can make this one look (and sound) the best!

A bit delayed but...MFF Con Report
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
I know it's been almost a week but I just want to share my thoughts about this year's Midwest Furfest. It was an enjoyable con to say the least. I got to catch up with some old friends, do a bit of fursuiting and explore downtown Chicago a bit. I tell ya, if I could live in Chicago, I totally would. Everyone seems very friendly there. I even went down to the DMK Burger Bar twice after seeing it on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! The food is a bit pricey but their burgers are just to die for. It kind of reminded me of the Burger Barn in Ohsweken, which is not too far from where I live. I even stumbled upon a bar on North Milwaukee Avenue that was literally just filled with retro arcade machines (Pac Man, Ms. Pac Man, Dig Dug, Joust and even Donkey Kong, which I finally got to try after years of playing it on home consoles). I'm also glad I went downtown because at long last, I was able to grasp these into my paws: http://t.co/dD6Fhy1yFL
As for the con itself, well, let's just say it was a little lacklustre than it was in previous years. I mean, I had a great time, I'm definitely returning next year (if funding will allow it). I didn't really attend any panels, but it's just things like the dealer's room (everybody was pretty much selling the same type of stuff: art, fursuit parts, plushes, books and t-shirts) and the green room for the variety show (it was literally just a closed off corner of the hallway next to the grand ballroom) that made it kind of meh. Nevertheless, I did have a great time and I especially have to thank
timkangaroo for hosting an awesome MLP room party Saturday night and the after con dinner at Giordano's was an absolute blast. Everybody loved seeing
roxycoon and hearing her chattering. I have so much fun playing the character. She even had a number in the variety show:
On that note, I look forward to what next year's MFF holds in store and it was great seeing everyone that I got to see there. Next con for me is Furnal Equinox in Toronto. Take care everyone!

Midwest Furfest
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
So, as you may have guessed from the title of this journal, I will be at MFF this year. It is truly by far my favourite convention and I always look forward to it every year. I'll mostly be catching up with friends, doing some fursuiting and taking to the streets of Chicago whenever I can. I always love meeting new faces as well, so feel free to come up and say hi.
As far as what fursuits I'll be bringing, unfortunately you will not see Danny Dingo there. However, I am still bringing Roxy Raccoon (
roxycoon) since I found that I wear her more at MFF than I do Danny, plus she is a fun character to play so you'll be seeing her out and about throughout the con. She loves hugs and snuggles, so don't be shy to give her one. There might even be a possibility of a mini Roxy running around as well (it hasn't been confirmed, but we'll see what happens).
Anyhow, I look forward to seeing everyone there and yeah, feel free to come say hi and chat with me at the con. I know this year is going to be great. See you guys in a couple days!

Guitarist needed!
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
I would like to record a cover of "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes" as it is such a beautiful song and one of my all time favourite Disney songs. I would like to do it in the style of "Fulfillment" by the Beau-Marks, but I need someone who can play guitar to provide a backing track for me to use. This video should give you an idea of how I want the backing track to sound like:
So, who's up for the challenge? I accept MP3 or WAV format (preferably WAV). Spreading the word will also be highly appreciated. Thanks guys!

Anthrocon 2013 - The Results!
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
So, I just got back from Anthrocon last night. It was a fine con, to say in the least. I got to hang out with friends and did a fair amount of suiting. I also believe everyone enjoyed the new Pony Lennon song that I premiered at the My Little Pony panel Saturday night (for those of you who missed it, the performance will be on FA hopefully sometime soon). If there was anyone who was at the con and I might have missed, I'm sorry, but with a con as big as that, what can you do? Also, the bacon ice cream sundaes at Fernando's are really good. I was also able to add a few Sega Genesis games to my library with the opening of an Exchange just across the street from Westin. I didn't really get to do any sight seeing as I had hoped. As a matter of fact, I'm thinking of going to Pittsburgh one weekend to do just that. I like to go exploring! Nonetheless, it was an enjoyable con.
Also, I want to thank my friend Rapid T. Rabbit for letting me run around in his Love-A-Lot Bear costume. I got lots of hugs and pictures and she was a lot of fun to run around as. I'm totally up for doing that again!
In closing, I believe this was another great year for Anthrocon. I know I've had better times at the con, but it was still enjoyable to say in the least (and it was a great way to celebrate my birthday). I look forward to what next year holds in store. Next stop (tentatively), MFF!

Leaving for Anthrocon tomorrow!
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
Tomorrow, I begin my great adventure to one of the greatest furry conventions of all time, Anthrocon! If you see me, feel free to come say hi, hang out and talk to me. If you don't know what I look like out of suit, I have long hair, which I often wear in a ponytail and a goatee. Perhaps this picture will give you an idea of what I look like (I'm the one to the right of Pluto): http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7961218/. I can be a little shy at first, but a nice chat really makes me feel better. I'll be doing the usual fursuiting, cavorting about and hanging with peeps. Also, I'll be premiering a new Pony Lennon song at the brony panel on Saturday (which also happens to be my birthday) and you might also see a pink bear running around the con as well. If you do, feel free to come up for a hug and maybe for a picture, too. I know it's going to be a great year. To all those who are going, hope to see you there! **goes to pack**

"Messy Mercury" now available for Internet viewing!
Posted 12 years agoHey gang!
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of my very first animated short, "Messy Mercury", I have finally unleashed this precious film to the world, newly remastered and enhanced for Internet viewing.
Created as a 9th grade science project using only MS Paint, Windows Movie Maker and Sound Recorder. It was produced in just three days, hence why the animation is pretty choppy and the voices don't really sound that good (it was all pretty much done on the fly). This was also my very first attempt at making such a film. Includes a new introduction from myself which explains the initial production and remastering process more in depth.

Posted 13 years agoOkay, so I just got back from MFF Monday night, and it was yet again another amazing convention. My roommates were great, the atmosphere was very relaxed and it is overall a very friendly convention. I am totally planning to go back next year. In fact, this is one convention I will be attending probably until I'm old and gray! And if I ever wanted to visit another part of the city (which I usually do on the Sunday of the con), the subway station is only a short walk away from the hotel.
I don't really have anything bad to say about it, but I will say this: all you people with your squeakers and such, STOP BLARING THEM THROUGHOUT THE DAMN HOTEL! I mean, they're fun if you're trying to add some sort of characteristic to your fursuit, but using them out of suit is just plain creepy. I tried to be unique with a squeaker when I used one, but with so many other people using them nowadays, I found that it just takes away so much from my characters. Personally, I find much more fun in using gestures and pantomime in fursuit rather than using a squeaker to give it some sort of "voice". It just doesn't really add much character.
Other than that, I enjoyed myself at MFF and I really enjoyed hanging out with my pals and the few others that I met at this convention as well. I am really looking forward to seeing everyone there next year as well. 'Til next time, my friends, have a good one!

The Obligatory MFF Meme
Posted 13 years agoSince other people are doing this...
How long will you be there?
Thursday to Monday
Where are you staying?
The Hyatt, as always
How will you get there?
Flying, of course
Who are your roommates?
Dagger Paws and Gladstone from the MFF Forums (anybody know these two on FA?)
Attending any events or performances?
I'm usually just a wanderer but I might peek in them from time to time. I will be in the Furry Variety Show, of course.
Who will you hang out with?
All kinds of crazy people
Will you be fursuiting?
Why would I not? Both Danny and Roxy will be running around at the con.
Can I talk to you?
Hey, I'm always up for conversation. I may be a little shy at first, but I feel more confident once I'm settled into it. In suit, however, I prefer to pantomime, so please try not to ask me questions that require verbal responses.
Can I touch you?
Hugs when I am in suit are fine and encouraged, but other than that, keep your hands to yourself.
What is your gender?
Uh...male?
Are you nice?
Most of the time.
How tall are you?
Around 5' 11"
Are you cliquey?
Nope, nor would I ever be.
You look pissed off out of suit, can I come up to you?
Well okay, but do so with caution. I can be quick tempered.
Do you do art?
Not at cons.
Smoke, drink?
Smoke: No
Drink: Very Seldom
If I see you, how can I get your attention?
Just holler "YO DANNY D!"
How can I get a hold of you?
Just look for a con badge that says, "Danny Dingo" and holler. Or just look for me in suit. You should be able to see what it looks like on my user page!
Attending any parties?
Only if I'm invited
I think that's it! I am looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Anthrocon Recap!
Posted 13 years agoOkay, I know this is a little delayed. I've been really busy the past few days, so here goes.
Anthrocon was yet again another amazing experience! I got to meet up with some old friends that I haven't seen in a while, plus I met a few cool people as well. I actually got to do a bit more fursuiting this year, which was also nice.
The filming of
poinktweasel 's stand up went very well! I was a lot more organized than I was last year and I had a much better camera, too. A HUGE thanks goes to
craftyandy and
darkwolf33333 for helping with the shoot! I'm glad you guys were able to do this at the last minute. Seriously, I couldn't have done this without you. And yes, you two will be getting free copies of the DVD when it's done! I really can't wait to start putting this together.
It felt so great to be in the Westin again. My roomies were awesome! In fact, it was also the first time that I ever roomed with a fursuit maker, which was pretty cool. Major thanks to
hypr for sorting all of that out!
I would also like to thank
timkangaroo for giving me the opportunity to perform "Power to the Ponies" at the brony panel, despite the fact that I pretty much lost my voice, but it was fun. And for all those who cheered out, to quote Steve Martin, "You guys are going to be on a record!" Having said that, if you're going to Bronycon in the next week and a half or so, you will be among the first to hear Pony Lennon's new single and if you were at the brony panel, you just might hear your voice during the sing alongs that will more than likely take place throughout the con! More info on that to follow.
So, right now I'm still trying to get back into the grind, but be sure to stay tuned on updates with the stand up DVD as well as Pony Lennon. And for those of you who missed
roxycoon (go and +watch her if you haven't already) or myself at AC, our next tentative con will be MFF! Until next time ladies and gents, keep your stick on the ice.

Currently at Anthrocon!
Posted 13 years agoHey gang!
I have finally arrived in Pittsburgh to experience the wonder that is Anthrocon, and so far it's going okay. I was able to take out
roxycoon for a short spin around the con space and she is always looking forward to seeing everybody there. And yes, she will be in the Masquerade, too.
As for myself, of course the main thing I'll be doing is filming
poinktweasel 's stand up for a DVD release. I am also planning to get some B-roll of the con as well for an opening sequence. So, if you see a kind of bulgy guy with a goatee, wearing his hair in a ponytail and with a camera, that's me. It would be nice to give the viewers a little taste of the atmosphere of the con. I still need to find
craftyandy so we can discuss our filming plans.
AND be sure to come to
timkangaroo 's Brony panel on Saturday night where I will be doing a special performance of "Power to the Ponies"; lyrics are here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6135407/. I'm also going to be recording this performance for subsequent posting to FA, so come on out and lift your voices.
Anyhoo, I am looking forward to what this con will bring to me. I am very much looking forward to seeing a lot of you. I gotta run off now. See you soon!

Anthrocon - Looking for Camera Operators!
Posted 13 years agoHey gang!
As many of you may be aware, the schedule for Anthrocon 2012 has been released. In spite of that, my good buddy
jr5150 aka
poinktweasel will be doing some stand up Friday night. And since I will be filming this for a DVD (and possibly Blu-Ray) release, I'm looking for a few people to help out with the filming of the show as well (two stationary camera operators on each side of the room and one hand held camera operator to get some stage and crowd reaction shots). I do have a couple requirements, though:
1) Must have your own camera and it must be able to shoot in HD (hence the Blu-Ray mention)
2) Must be able to shoot in 1080/24p
The show is at 10pm and as such, I would like the film crew to arrive at LEAST one hour before show time so that we can set up and be ready to roll at 10:00. I will provide SD cards if need be. This is an hour and a half long show, so I'll make sure I have cards with plenty of space. I will also be bringing a few tripods as well, but if you have your own tripod to bring, that would be great, too. So, anyone interested in helping out with the shoot is asked to e-mail me at pollick529[at]yahoo.ca and we can discuss it further.
Thanks and I hope to see you all at AC!

Wanna see Roxy Raccoon in action?
Posted 13 years agoHey gang.
So, last weekend,
roxycoon and I were on the Funday Pawpet Show. And of course, she got the opportunity to be a subservient. Well, for those who missed that (or want to see it again), here's her little feat:
I had so much fun doing the show and would totally do it again! More clips from that episode to follow. Enjoy!
(BTW, this will be the last Roxy Raccoon post I will make on this account. If you want to see more of her, please watch the account mentioned at the top of this entry, thanks!)

Can you sing? Then this might interest you!
Posted 13 years agoUPDATE (3/25/12): I have uploaded a click track in case you have trouble keeping with the beat: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/7648216/
Hey gang!
I'm thinking about recording another Pony Lennon song (for those of you who don't know who this character is, listen to this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/6485639/), sung to the tune of "Power to the People". However, I need your guys' help. I need to get a whole bunch of voices singing "Power to the Ponies". If you haven't heard the song, here's a little "guide track", if I may put it that way.
You can send them to me in either WAV or MP3 format, but please make sure the sampling rate is no lower than 44.1 kHz. Spread the word! I want to make this happen.
I also need a saxophonist, so if any of you can play the sax, please get in touch with me. I want this to be something spectacular!

EPIC DUMPTY!
Posted 13 years agoI just found this on YouTube and I could hardly contain myself.

Hey YOU! Yes, you! Were you at MFF? Then read this!
Posted 13 years agoHey gang!
If you were at this past MFF, you might have noticed a bunch of fursuiters dancing in the conference room foyer just past the headless lounge. Well, finally after months of delay and other inexplicable mishaps, the video is now ready for mass consumption. It will (tentatively) premiere on the Funday Pawpet Show this Sunday (March 11th).
For more info on the Funday Pawpet Show including the stream, please visit http://pawpet.tv If you were in this video, this is your chance to see yourself strut your stuff. Watch for it this Sunday!
