Never thought I'd say this but... Me and  TrevorWinters are (eventually) moving to Ohio! I was hesitant at first, but visiting our friends up there helped ease some worries. We're hoping to be up there around this time next year.

So the big question: Why on earth do you want to move? Many reasons... let's be real: the Deep South SUCKS. I've lived in a southern state all my life and I've never truly been happy with it. The backwards politics, hot weather 24/7, neglected infrastructure, close minded folks, and most of all: isolation.

As a autistic/neurodivergent person, I've always felt out of place in the normie irl space, especial in this region. Even within local furry groups I have always felt a lil left out. I used to attend local fur meets and cons all the time but rarely felt like I was WITHIN the circle, you know what I mean? That's why I slowly backed away from events. The only time people would hit me up was for art commission related stuff. Anyway, I'm going on a tangent here: my point is that I'm lonely here and this recent trip made me realize it was not me that was the problem... I was simply in the wrong setting.

All the wonderful people we met in Ohio were GENUINELY nice (not that performative fakey "polite" nonsense they do in the South). Both friends and strangers have been very welcoming and supportive. We even had some friends offer to help us move! Like one of them said they'd come down here to help up load up! For reference we're over 12 hours away by car. Literally NONE of my current irl friends have ever done that for me. Also, another friend said we can even be roommates once they get a bigger place. I'm genuinely blown away by the generosity. Like huh? People ACTUALLY care about me?? And enjoy my company???

Because of this golden opportunity, we're trying our best to save up. Work has gotten a little slow so I plan to open commissions again very soon (after my birthday near the end of February) to kick start our moving fund. More details on that coming soon!

Hi everyone! Hopefully your New Year is going well so far! Work has been a little slow so I plan to OPEN COMMISSIONS!! However, before I do, I want to bring awareness to a TOS change:

ART COMMISSION FILES MORE THAN A YEAR OLD MAY BE DELETED IF LACKING STORAGE SPACE

As most of you know, file storage costs money. Over the years I've made TONS of art, so it takes up storage space both on my devices and the cloud. Due to the rising cost of living and other expenses, I can't realistically upgrade to higher storage subscriptions or get newer devices constantly. My iPad air that I use for commissions is nearly 6 years old if that gives you an idea of how tight things are. Even with iCloud my iPad's storage is already nearly full even after moving stuff to the cloud and deleting unnecessary files.

Because of this, I need to permanently delete commissions files once my storage is nearly full. Including but not limited to PSD, .Procreate, PNG, etc. I plan to keep the files in there as long as I can but if you got art from me more than a year ago SAVE IT NOW . If it's been more than a year it will be subject to deletion. I'm so sorry. It was a very difficult decision.

But don't panic! I'm NOT deleting anything right away! Just wanted to give you a fair heads up. Realistically, I probably wont delete anything right away, so you have time! But if there's a piece of art you CANNOT do without definitely save it. If you want it in a specific file format let me know and I'll try to get it to you.

Never thought this would ever happen, but a hater is making fake profiles of me all over the internet with very hateful language... Over Smiling Friends fan art. Cannot make this up folks...

The art in question isn't on here but it's on my other socials. I was gonna post it here but due to the nature of things rn I wont so this person can't track me down. It got viral and even Adult Swim reposted, which is awesome!! But what's not awesome is some chud is trying to mess with me and deceive my friends and family by making fake accounts on Instagram, Discord, and God knows where else. On the surface they look like me and have matching pfps, but the posts and bios have very hateful tranphobic and homophobic comments. Me and my friends have reported the accounts and most of the ones I'm aware of are gone, but more will probably pop up.

IF YOU SEE ANYONE PRETENDING TO BE ME PLEASE LET ME KNOW AND REPORT THEM!
If you're not sure if it's me or not just ask and I'll let you know.

Thinking about offering traditional media comms. Like stuff made with pencil, ink, paint, etc. Maybe even some crafts too. Would anyone be interested?

I'm wanting to do this for several reasons. Mainly because my iPad is old and running out of storage even with regularly deleting files. It's gotten to a point where my iPad crashes randomly. I exclusively use Procreate for my digital stuff. I do use cloud storage, but Procreate has local files that have to be on the system itself. I plan to get a new iPad with much more storage, but it may not be until the end of the year.

Second, eye health reasons. Both my main job and my art side gig require LOTS of screen time. I have to constantly check my phone for work to check ever-changing schedules and keep in touch with my boss and clients and navigate roads. As previously mentioned, I also have to stare at my iPad to work on art comms. I think it's beginning to affect my vision. The other day I noticed I'm beginning to have trouble reading things from far away. It's not severe enough to affect driving or anything, but I don't want it to get to that point.

Don't worry, this doesn't mean I'll completely stop doing digital art. Just trying to find a right balance.

So  TrevorWinters and I live in the Deep South. We absolutely hate it. I really don’t understand why Yankees and snow birds and whatnot keep moving down here. It’s hot ALL THE TIME. The political climate awful. There’s nothing to do. But most of all, most of my local friends and family are absent and unreliable in general.

It’s so lonely here. Ironically, my online friends check on me more than my irl ones. For context, my irl best friend who’ve I’ve known since kindergarten hasn’t hung out with me in 5 months. We used to see each other a lot more often. My other best friend from high school hasn’t reached out in almost a year plus she bailed out on a trip she planned for us last second. My parents only reach out to me when they need something from me. Other than my wonderful partner and Discord friends I pretty much don’t have anyone. Trev’s in the same boat too. Other than my nice job, we have no other reason to stay where we are.

Most of our friends and other connections live around the North and Midwest, so if you know anywhere we should consider lemme know. This move probably won’t be for a couple years from now but we wanna go ahead and make a solid plan.

As many of you have heard,  Dragoneer is no longer with us. We didn’t talk frequently, but he did appreciate my work on here during a time when I was having doubts about my skills. The fact that the creator of this entire community took time to fave, watch, and even comment meant so much to me. He really did care about the art community and I’ll never forget that.

Because of his passing, some sources say FA is in financial risk. There is a chance it may be down for awhile. Possibly permanently.

I was working on my tax return and it turns out I owe a bit. I was expecting to owe some due to my DoorDashing on the side, but it was higher than anticipated.

Including deductions, donations, and withheld taxes on my W-2, my Federal is still $800 and State is $300ish. It’s never been this high and I honestly don’t know how I can pay this on top of my tax prep fees.

I know it isn’t due right away, but either way the next few months might be difficult, especially since my partners work laid them off recently (no fault of their own). Even though my W-2 job pays decently, I only get paid every two weeks so it’ll take awhile for money to roll in.

I hate to ask for help, but I’m desperate and my family isn’t the type to do handouts without judgement.

Some have asked when my commissions will be open again (since the holidays are coming up) And honestly? I’m not sure. Probably not for a very long time. So for now, commissions are closed till further notice.

This is mainly due to my workload at the moment. The job I’m in is slammed around this time of year. I’m expecting things to slow down in January after New Years so MAYBE then I’ll open again, but I can’t guarantee it.

In the meantime I may do an occasional YCH or something quick that can be done during brief slow periods in the meantime, but again, is not guaranteed.

Sorry I’ve been quiet awhile. I’ve been working mostly but also it’s something else… I don’t come on here as often because it just reminds me of how lonely I am in this community.

For ten years. A DECADE. I’ve tried so hard to find these so-called lifelong friendships that everyone seems to partake in. And yet I can’t seem to find anyone on my wavelength who is willing to stick around permanently other than my bf. And I can’t figure out why! I try to be nice, funny, positive, helpful, open minded… I attend cons, fur meets, join discord servers… And my inbox is totally dry 95% of the time. Like am I missing something here?? I don’t understand why I’m alone.

And yes, I’ve had furry friends in the past but they either never contact me, fade away, use me for art/sex, or in one case did a complete 180 on me and tried to take me to court over some bs lies they made up.

I want closeness. I want real connection. But I keep getting hurt every time I’m vulnerable. I’m so tired. Im tired of saving everyone and nobody is even there to save me. I’m so angry. I’m scared one day I’ll snap and hurt someone or myself. I did everything I was supposed to! Is that not good enough for y’all?? I’m aware I’m not perfect but I’m trying. I’m sorry I’m not good enough.
