General | Posted 14 years agoVoilĂ ! In view, a humble vaudevillian veteran, cast vicariously as both victim and villain by the vicissitudes of fate. This visage, no mere veneer of vanity, is a vestige of the vox populi, now vacant, vanished. However, this valorous visitation of a bygone vexation stands vivified, and has vowed to vanquish these venal and virulent vermin vanguarding vice and vouchsafing the violently vicious and voracious violation of volition. The only verdict is vengeance; a vendetta held as a votive, not in vain, for the value and veracity of such shall one day vindicate the vigilant and the virtuous. Verily, this vichyssoise of verbiage veers most verbose, so let me simply add that it's my very good honor to meet you and you may call me V."
And yes, I did just type that out. :P How many times can YOU use vichyssoise in a sentance?
On a completely different note, big thanks to
Euchre for showing me around Winnipeg this weekend, it was fun. Maybe next time I won't be so god-awful busy and we can really tie one on.

General | Posted 14 years agoI have a couple of milestones coming up, and I shall offer Kiribans! Thank you watcher peoples. I think that's the right word. Prizes?
EDIT: I'm a retard, and apparently it's possible for more than one person to get the pageviews. I'm going to accept the two that got in before this edit, but no more. Derp.
For current watchers, I'm very close to 2000 pageviews. Take your screenshot. And I don't want this missed, so if no one claims it relatively soon, send your screenshot of as close as you get, and I'll take the closest to 2000, over 2000.
For everyone else. I have 146 watchers, number 200 gets a Kiriban too!
What will they be?
Couple pictures, dirty or not (I'll leave that up to you) with yours truely. Yay!
Watch on!

I lieks the readings.
General | Posted 14 years agoIf anyone ever gets a chance, I just finished Steven Erickson's 10 volume "Malazan Book of The Fallen" I was impressed. I have never in my life been happier with a multi-book series. The end, it wrapped everything up in a neat little package, the humor was dark and sarcastic. The messages were clear and profound.
Read the book, read it twice. You will miss things the first time around.
One thing I thought amazingly profound was the attention to detail. Very very small things that made huge differences, or gave you extra information, that were do easy to miss. Has everyone seen The Dark Knight? Did everyone realize that the reason Batman saved harvey wasn't because he meant to, but because the Joker lied about who was at which address? It's amazing how many people missed that. And it's details like that, filling these books, that make things so interesting.
Book One: Gardens of The Moon
Read it.
Nao.
Unless you don't like fantasy books. But maybe even then, because it is just an awesome read.

General | Posted 14 years agoI started this sweet new job this summer.
Literally, people come up and let me fix their windshields, I say 'let me' because I don't charge them for it. I charge their insurance. So guy drives up, I fix windshield, I charge the insurer a minimum of like... 80 dollars, he drives away. Done. I get minimum wage plus commission.
Now how, you might ask, does this give me an amazing amount of satisfaction and pleasure? Well, let me tell you.
Every chip has a story, and while I'm filling out insurance forms, I find it passes the time to let the guy talk about how he got his chip. I don't listen. I don't care. But it saves us from a huge paperwork induced awkward silence. I've come to the realization that the majority of chips happen two ways: Either oncoming traffic shoots a rock at you (usually hits the driver's side) or someone in front of you hits an unpaved shoulder (usually hits the passenger side).
Well... I'm driving along, doing 10 over the limit at like midnight. trucking along when this asshat comes up behind me with his brights on. I slow down, but he won't pass, probably because he's an asshat. I think to myself... How do I get this fucker to back off? Well. It's like a bright shining beacon of awesome light. I speed up a little, wait until he's nice and close, and hit the shoulder. Hard. I see the rocks fly up at him, the cloud of dust in his highbeams. And I think to myself. Justice has been done!
Most importantly. he backed the fuck off.
Learning experiences are awesome.
What makes this story noteworthy, boys and girls is the very next day, as I'm filling out the paperwork to work on this MASSIVE cluster of chips. This guy is telling me this story. And I realize: It's the asshat! I can't even make this shit up. 5 chips and a 4 inch crack. I charged the insurer $210.00 for that.
Ahh, it's good to be a jerk.
