Monthly Status Report.
Posted 14 years agoWell, it has been a month since my last journal entry and there has been a lot that has happened to me since the last journal. The things that have happened were both good and also very sad, to the point that it made things very surreal.
February 2nd, brought sad news of another family member passing. Then two days later my sister gave birth to my second niece. With one family member passing and the birth of a new one only days apart, it made things very surreal for everyone.
Lately I have been working on more artwork, slowly trying to get back into a routine after all that has happened. Hopefully I shall have some more things to post by the end of the week or sooner.

Recovery Started.
Posted 14 years agoWell, for those that have been keeping up, I have been ill with a very bad cold that pretty much killed my drive to work on things that weren't simple. Let's face it, it is hard to do work when you have a headache from sinus pressure and are having crazy fever induced hallucinations when you lay down to get some rest. What kind of hallucinations was I having you might wonder, well I'll tell you that it was basically the return of an old nightmare from the early days of the internet. Pop ups. Yes, pop ups. The hallucinations that I was having were that there were a never ending supply of pop up windows appearing around me and each time I closed one, another would appear in its place. It was very much like that Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode, only instead of advertisements, the pop ups for menus for the GECK. Garden of Eden Creation Kit (GECK) is a program used to create mods for Fallout 3. But, my fever is gone and I am well on the road to recovery now after being hit with this titan of a cold.
With me recovering from this cold, I shall be able to do more work and open commissions as soon as I get my PayPal information straight. I had planned on getting everything done by January 1st and open up for commissions, but the cold waylaid me big time. Hopefully by the end of the week I will have everything ready to go. Till then everyone, I shall catch you later and have a good day. :)

Evil cold.
Posted 14 years agoWell, I seem to have come down with some kind of bug. Woke up with it yesterday and it has put me on my butt. Taking some OTC stuff to fight it, and I am hoping for the best. Hopefully I will be able to get some work done before I am drained of all energy to do things.
Merry Christmas. =)
Posted 15 years agoMerry Christmas to everyone!
I spare you all the list of presents that I got, since I am tickled with the lot of them. :) I just hope that you all have a happy and safe Christmas.

Considering opening for Commissions.
Posted 15 years agoWell, just like the title says, I am considering opening myself up to commissions since I need a bit of cash to start rolling in in order to take care of some things. You know, the normal every day things, like paying for classes and materials. What I am not sure about is how much to charge for what kind of work. I have looked around at other artists, and I've seen a lot of $5.00 commissions. ... Which now thanks to Subway I can't get that 5 Dollar Foot Long jingle out of my head when I see $5.
Back on topic, what do you all think? Should I open myself up to commissions and set the price at $5? Or what price do you think is reasonable... and if you say "Free", I will have to drop a colony on you. :P

Winter Update!
Posted 15 years agoWell nothing like waking up and finding that it is now almost a steady 20 something degrees outside, with 20+ mph winds. I guess it means that winter has finally arrived.
I got home about 4 PM Friday, and have been spending time catching up on things. There was a lot of artwork and journal posts to go through, as well as a lot of artwork. Commented, faved, and looked at about everything on there. But you all don't want to know about that, you all want to know what else I am doing.
I am going to start up the next issue of "Folf!" next week, I have a couple of pages already done, but I had to put a hold on things with all the family emergencies that have happened recently. My other comic is coming along fairly well as well, with script and character development moving faster then I thought it would.
As for artwork, I am getting things done! xD I swear that I am. I have a pile of things on my desk that I have been drawing and inking. I am waiting for a new USB cable for my portable HD since I have some things on there for my artwork that I need. Right now I'm using my PS3 game controller cable to use the HD, but I need the actual replacement cable and not a bandaid. I'll post artwork as soon as I get everything done, and the permission of those that have asked me to draw for them.
Till then, stay safe everyone.

Grandmom 1936 - 2010
Posted 15 years agoThose that might have been following my journal updates know that my family has been through a lot these last few months. Last night at about 10:45 PM my Grandmother passed away. She was surrounded by family and went peacefully here at her home. The funeral service will be Thursday, and I am not exactly sure when I shall be returning to our home in Maryland. I want to thank everyone that has been praying for my family and my Grandmother, and yes the prayers that you have made have been answered.
One of my friends posted something similar about one of their friends passing and the prayers of others that he will get better were answered. They put it very well in their response to people, and I know that I am just echoing her own words, but with changes. My Grandmother was in a great deal of pain and suffered a great deal in these last months, she took it in stride and put on a brave front for all. Now she is at rest and is no longer in pain or suffering silently without telling anyone, and that is the best outcome for the prayers that have been made by everyone.
Right now we are getting everything else in order here and it is a rough time. I want to thank you all on behalf of my family for your prayers and well wishes.

Halloween~
Posted 15 years agoWell, trick or treating was last night along with the yard decoration contest going on here at the base. We will find out later if we won or not, but you know that it has to be impressive if the Fire Department comes by and parks in the parking lot to give out candy, turning on their spot light and highlighting our house. I'll see if I can find the cable for the camera to download some pictures and upload them on here.
It was a fun night, tiring however as I was directing people to the front door and making sure they didn't cut through the yard. Don't want anyone stepping on the decorations or tripping over some of the anchor spikes to the large spider we had in the yard. I got to dress up in some elements of a costume that I am going to be using for something else, made a great costume just too stand around in. I scared a large group of teens/tweens that were across the street. They were saying that I wasn't going to chase them, so of course I did a little. Only down side to that was that I scared a group of little kids that were coming down the street. I mistook them for some neighbors kids that already knew it was me in the costume, scared them so bad their mom picked them up and they refused to come near the house... even after I went inside they were to terrified to come close due to fear of me.
My niece was dressed up as Supergirl, so she got to have some fun play fighting me outside. A 4 year old girl dressed up as Supergirl attacking a 5' 8" guy dressed like a monster is cute, no matter who you are.

Return and Grandmom Update.
Posted 15 years agoThank you all for your support. Dad and I have returned from Virginia and things are better now, which is a miracle in of itself. My Grandmom was taken to the hospital as you all know and was in critical condition for a while. She is now recovering after having a lot of things flushed out of her that should not have been there. I can't go into details about things but she is doing better and that is the best news we heard in what seemed like a long while. She has lost weight, but is slowly regaining her strength and was able to stand up for a bit on her own yesterday.
It will be a while before she is back to how she was before all this, but right now we are all glad that she has survived this latest development. Thank you all for your well wishes, prayers and support.

Family Emergancy.
Posted 15 years agoI have to put every project that I have going on hold for now, and it is related to the previous journal.
At about 2 A.M. Friday morning I got a phone call from my Mom with some bad news. My Grandmother was taken by ambulance to the hospital suffering from congestive heart failure. The doctors removed a liter and a half of fluid off of her lungs and have her admitted under observation. Update at 6 A.M. from Mom let us know that Grandmom was in stable condition, and Dad was able to pick up papers today to allow him to go TDY after people were dragging their feet here getting things in order. Heading down to Virginia at 9 A.M. Saturday and not sure when exactly I will be back.
I'll pop online when I find time to do so, but I don't know when exactly that would be. I am sorry if I inconvenience anyone by not having projects done on time, but family always comes first for me.

Catching up on things and heading out.
Posted 15 years agoWell, it looks like next weekend I will be going on a trip down to Virginia to visit my Grandmother for a while. Mom will be heading down Monday to help out since Grandmom has a new round of treatments going on.
Treatments for what you might ask, well I guess there is no harm in telling. Years ago my Grandmother was diagnosed with breast cancer and had it removed, along with radiation treatments for it to kill what remained of the cancer. Now, there is always a chance that it can return, even after being removed, so that is a good reason to keep checking. Years later it turns out that the cancer has returned, only it is now bone cancer and she is getting treatments for it. The latest batch start next week, and my Mom is heading down to help out with caring for Grandmom.
Next weekend my father and I will be coming down to Virginia, and after a days rest my father will head off to a meeting in North Carolina. I will be staying at my grandmothers, so I'll have limited internet access unless I am on the small Netbook that we have. The thing is small and can't exactly run the programs that I use for making comic or artwork digitally, so all the artwork that I do will have to wait to be coloured when I get back home and can scan it.
Work on artwork is progressing well so far, I might be able to knock a few more things off of my list this week and next week since I won't be able to do any comic working. Took a break last week from working on "Folf!" in order to give my brain a rest. Don't distress though, I will be having more soon. Thinking of possibly moving my comics from my website to a webcomic community site like Drunk Duck or Comic Genesis since I am not as skilled a code monkey that people believe me to be to make big flashy websites for comics where people can comment and such.

Party Month!
Posted 15 years agoWell, it is one of my families favourite times of the year... October!
There are a few birthdays this month, as well as some other special events that shall be taking place. I get to go try out to get my drivers license ( Finally, after over 10 years of trying! Darn state and federal restrictions. ), my girlfriend and I celebrate our anniversary, Halloween is coming up close to the end of the month, and hopefully a lot of good things will be happening.
I am ahead of the curve right now when it comes to getting work done, so production of things should speed up a bit. I have also been working out more and have a bit more energy to do things. The basement gym my father and I have has seen some improvements, with me moving some things and then him taking one of the TV's we have and cable box, setting it up so we can have something to watch or listen to as we lift weights or walk out a few miles on the eliptical machine.
Other news, those that know about the little net show that I am planning will be happy to know that I have topics for about 13 episodes so far. I do need to get some more things taken care of as far as the logistics for some of the episodes... after all, I am pretty much doing this on my own and a one man production is kind of hard to do but not impossible. I'm also working on making a few improvements to my website so that it will be more interactive with visitors, but again, just one person working on it so things are a bit slow since I have to teach myself some more advanced things then what I already know.
Well, that is all for now. I hope you all have a fun time! =)

September 25th, never forget! :<
Posted 15 years agoHello out there world. With all the high political tension and posturing going on it is amazing how people seem to over look other events taking place or that took place on this day in history. Yes, it seems that all people want to talk about is the GOP's release of their Pledge to America, especially since people can download the PDF of the GOP's plan with or without the use of an FTP to their HD's.
While everyone is off debating issues and such about how things are right or wrong in this plan that was released, to the point of even pointing out spelling errors, I instead will be raising my glass to an event of Epic Bad Ass-ness that took place on this day.
The date, September 25th, 1066. The place, Stamford Bridge, East Riding of Yorkshire. Two armies met on the field of battle, on one side the English being led by King Harold Godwinson and on the other side, a combined force between the King's brother Tostig Godwinson and King Harald Hardrada of Norway, leading an army of Viking warriors. As the battle progressed the English army had to cross a bridge to get at the Viking, and it was on this bridge that one Viking warrior held off the English army. Yes, you read that right. ONE Viking warrior held off an army on this bridge.
Sadly this warrior did not survive the battle as a few English soldiers were able to get onto a small boat and attack him from under the bridge, thrusting their spears up into him. But even if he did die in the end, one warrior stood against many and held them back. The battle also caused such heavy losses to King Harold's forces that after winning at the Stamford Bridge he was defeated three weeks later by William the Conqueror at the Battle of Hastings.
Now that is something to celebrate, not engaging in heated political debate over a plan that a group has IF they regain political power. Let's all set our problems aside and drink to this heroic Viking warrior and his sheer bad ass-ness.

Changes and such.
Posted 15 years agoWell, time to break out some bad news for you folks... like I hadn't already, huh.
I will be changing things around with my artwork following the completion of this issue of "Folf!", the change being that I will be moving things to my website and only be posting the comics on there. The reason for this is that I am going to be using the galleries here to just show some art that otherwise I wouldn't be able to post on my website. The reason is that I don't want to tempt getting my service canceled for violating the terms of service that they have, even if I have been with this host for several years. I will be trying to implement some more comic friendly stuff to the website, something that will make it a lot easier then what I have been doing.
I am also going to try and step up production of the other comics and projects that I have in the works, but as my previous journal said I might have to put some on hold due to family matters. There are only a few pages left to go in this current issue of "Folf!" which I am hoping to wrap up this story arc before the end of the year after having it drag on for several years it feels like. xD
Anywho, thank you all for your time and attention. Comments on what you all think or feel are welcome as always. :)

Possible Project Delays Due to Life.
Posted 15 years agoBleh, I hate having to make journals to explain why things might be late posting but I might as well let you all know.
Things are STILL not going right. My Grandmother took ill, very seriously ill, recently and has been on the road to recovery after my Mom went and stayed with her for over a month. We thought that things were going good down there after my Dad and I left and got back about the 7th here and a week later my Mom came back up here after getting things set up down in Virginia for her to be cared for. Grandmother was well on road to recovery, finished up chemo treatments for bone cancer she has, pneumonia cleared up and actually put on over 5 pounds of weight.
Cut to last night and we find out that Grandmom has lost over 10 pounds in the short time that Mom has been away, and there are some other issues coming to light now that we suspected were a problem... but someone actually caught person in the act. Needless to say the news is not sitting well with myself and other family members. What exactly is going on I will not disclose at this time, but now you all know that there is big things going on behind the scenes. So if I am late getting artwork that you want, or comic pages posted, you all know that I'm not sitting with my thumbs shoved up my rear.

Back from VA. also Core! Hero of Bunnies!
Posted 15 years agoWell, I return once more from Virginia. Family down there is doing okay, and I had a bit of an adventure as well. Now, time for a little story kiddies. Once you are all comfy in your seats, and have a box of tissues or something to drink I shall start. ... Comfy? Good.
We pulled into my grandmother's driveway and while my Dad was inside chatting, I was out getting the luggage from the Jeep to bring into the house. While I was doing that I saw that the stray cat my aunt and grandmother adopted was in the neighbors fenced in yard and she was hunting a rabbit. I figured that the rabbit would get away, but turned out I was wrong as several hours later my mom was outside and heard a scream she had not heard before. It came from a very small baby bunny that the cat was after, and it was in the driveway, so my mother shooed the cat away and saved the little baby. Quickly we realized that the larger rabbit that the cat was after must have been the mother, and if the cat was going after the babies, that could only mean one thing... the mother bunny was dead.
It didn't take long for us all to spring into action, with me climbing over the fence to the neighbors yard late at night with a large flashlight to look for the babies or the nest. The cat was already after another one of the babies, but when I got close she stopped and I was able to pick up the baby bunny to take it to safety. I handed it over to my mom as I went back to look for more or the nest. As I was searching I found another baby bunny, one that was laying on its side with its head leaning against a large wooden frame for a swing. At first it looked like it wasn't moving, but as I leaned down to check, it was still alive!
Carefully I picked up the injured baby, the side of its head against the wooden frame was coated in blood and it had ants on its body that were nipping at it. I took the hurt baby over to my mom and she brought it into the house as I continued my search of the yard. I followed the cat to see if she would lead me back to where the nest was, and no such luck. After spending a large portion of time outside I went back over the fence and inside to see about the babies we found. Two were okay, but the third that was badly beaten up was struggling and we didn't think that would make it through the night. The next day I went with my mom and grandmother to a doctors appointment before dropping off the babies at the local no-kill animal shelter, where the babies would be taken to a wild-life rescue station later.
I didn't think to take photo's of the babies and shall check with mom to see if she has any news of them since she is still in Virginia taking care of grandma. The rest of the time down in Virginia was rather uneventful, but I did help repair my grandmothers computer for her which ate up a lot of time to work on things. And thus, my weekend ends.

Comic delay and heading out.
Posted 15 years agoWell, with things getting better on the home front I will be heading off for a bit to visit family in lower Virginia and shall let you all know a bit more I guess.
My grandmother got hit with a very bad case of pneumonia that resulted with her having to be admitted to the hospital. My mom has been down in Virginia for the past two weeks helping to nurse her back to health as well as help out. She is recovering well and we are setting up things for her so that she will be looked after, since she wants to live in her own house. Dad and I are going down to visit and help out as well since this was a big scare for everyone.
Since I am going to be in Virginia and will have limited computer access, it will be hard for me to work on my comic. The programs that I use to colour and letter it are here on my home computer and can't exactly lug that down for a four day weekend. I'll be returning Monday-ish which would leave me with little time to work on the comic. I will however continue working on it while I am away. I do after all draw and ink the comic by hand so least can get that much done. ;)

Birthday and other stuff. I'm still alive~
Posted 15 years agoHello all you people out there in the large art world, as you might not be able to tell from my lack of activity, I am very much alive still. xD
This past Friday was my birthday, meaning that I have reached the age of 28, making me one of the oldest amongst my small group of friends. It was a good day, filled with some good news all around as well as a nice dinner and cake made by my sister. I didn't do anything wild or crazy, just a simple party with family that are here in the area. Don't go asking what all I got for my birthday, since mostly my family doesn't buy presents for me, given that I am hard to shop for. Mostly I get birthday cards, well wishing, and gift cards so I can go out and find something for myself as a present... which usually goes towards things that I need more then things I want.
In other news, there has been a lot of things going on that have kept me from fully concentrating on artwork, and I am thankful for you all for not charging down my door and dragging me out into the street for failure to deliver artwork and comics when I said I would. I don't want to go into all the details on things, those closest to me know what all has been going on. What I will say is that it involved a family member who took ill and is now doing better now also. That being said, things have improved also for everyone else, but still working on getting things set up on recovery side of things. Projects and art are going to be slow as a result, but are getting done, so don't think that I have forgotten about you all out there.

Read and Help Out! Commissions and Such!
Posted 15 years agoHello all you loyal followers of my artwork, journals, and other things that I do. Today I have a few announcements to make that don’t pertain to me in general!
As you all know, times are getting rough for everyone. There are a number of cut backs going on as well as down sizing in the government, as well in the private sectors it is also effecting education. One person that has been affected by this are my lovely and talented girlfriend, Lila. Another person that has been affected is an awesome person named Sean Fausz, also known as “The Epic Fail Guy.”
First off, lets start with my lovely Lila. She recently signed up for some more college classes in order to further her education, and wouldn’t you know it, the classes she signed up for ended up being dropped because there were so few people taking them. The other classes that she signed up for she was bumped out of because some other students had higher priority then her. How a student can have higher priority then another I do not know, since personally I believe that all students should be treated equally. But this is only the start of the things that have gone on in relation to this.
Because she was already signed up for the classes, and all the classes would be taking place when she was working, Lila had to quit her job in order to take these classes. But now with the college having dropped her classes as well as her as a student, this leaves her with no job at the moment and as well as no classes.
Now you might be wondering how you can help her, and I shall tell you how now. She is currently taking donations for her artwork for the rate of five dollars ( $5.00 US ), which will get you a black and white drawing, one with flat colours or anything else that you would like. You can send her a note for more details at her Deviant Art account ( http://i-demand-candy.deviantart.com/ )or at her Fur Affinity account ( http://www.furaffinity.net/user/frut/ ). Visit her galleries and drop her a line for commissions.
The next person in need of help is of course the internets own Sean Fausz, “The Epic Fail Guy.” Due to reasons beyond his control, he has been hit with an inordinate large amount of bills due to other companies and banks looking to collect money from those that they feel they can extort money from. Currently his income comes from filming reviews of games and posting them online, which the ad revenue is not as much as you would think considering the service provider pays every three months. Right now he is in danger of having his internet service shut off after the provider increased its rates.
If you would like to help out Sean with taking care some of his bills in order to continue to provide entertainment for the masses, then please donate to him if you can. Please follow this link provided and donate as much as you feel you can in order to help out. ( https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/w.....fe2b48d77d66ee )

Posted 15 years agoWell, hopefully I will get some responses to this. I don't have a subscription so I can't make a poll, so this shall have to do. ;)
I was wondering what you all would think about me posting some concept artwork for one of my new comics that has been bouncing around in my head for a long time. It has been bouncing around up there for so long that it is a wonder that I don't have a concussion. ;P
So what do you all think? Would you like to see some concept art done by me for some of my other artistic projects? Or would you rather I not post them.

Oopsies.
Posted 15 years agoI thought I updated this thing before I left on my trip, I guess not.
Either way, I am back from Virginia and am now relaxing a bit in front of a fan as I cool off from this 107+ heat we have here. The temp gauge in the truck for outside temperature maxed out at 107, so not sure how hot it really is outside, just that even the breeze is like a blast from a furnace. So, in short, very hot and resting now.

The workload continues!
Posted 15 years agoWell, I am out of college for a bit to get some other things done before returning to classes. One of the things that I'm working on is the large amount of artwork that is not on the list at the bottom of my journals, that is a very very short list there of thing.
But on the subject of work, I have had a good run of things lately. My quality and productivity has gone up since I started working on rebuilding some of my skills and such. Things have improved so much that I was actually able to get all the work I had on my schedule yesterday done! That almost never happens and left me in shock for a bit, as well as with lots of free time that I spent with my girlfriend and watching Miranda Leigh do some artwork. With all that said and done you all can expect an on time update to the "Folf!" comic tomorrow. :)

Skills challenge!
Posted 15 years agoWell boys and girls, it has come to my own personal attention that I use to draw some things very well when I was younger... and while I have improved in some things, I have slacked in others. So I am now attempting to rebuild my skills! So that means you will see an influx of things that might be bizarre or out of the norm that you have seen from me if you are a recent follower of my works. With luck I will regain my old skills and combine them with my new ones to form super skills! :D ... or something like that.
