Hello hello! Convention season is just around the corner, and the ConTact crew is so excited to get to travel and see all of our favorite friends in the next few months. We start in November with Anthro Northwest, and then we'll do our Black Friday sale as always, followed the next weekend by Midwest Furfest.

We've already made the announcement on Twitter and Facebook, but if you missed it, we've started a Soap of the Month program through Patreon. Get soap and more starting at the $10 tier. There's also packages that include regular ConTact soaps, and crafts.

Hello everyone! Some quick updates with what we've been up to around here.

First off, we'll be ending our Winter line of soaps coming up on 2/8, which is this Saturday. Get in those last orders for all Cedar and Saffron, Evergreen, Fizzy Cola, Spearmint Vanilla, Pomegranate Solstice, and Hot Chocolate soaps and perfumes.

Secondly, we've rolled out two new scents for the duration of February: Love Potion returns for another V-day with us, and Kiss of Death is out for those of you who have been waiting for a pure dragon's blood scent. Both of these are in soaps and perfumes, and will be around all month.

I'm working on getting a list ready for the next few months of limited editions, which also includes sending out artist contacts. If you don't have a recent application with us, and are interested in doing art for an upcoming label (which means I'll need you to be working in the next couple of weeks), shoot us a note with a couple of links to examples of your stuff!

Den warmers are being completely restructured and updated.

- As seen at AC. Den warmers will be in clam wax container.
- Overall product will be 2.5oz instead of 1oz. (Much larger!)
- Quality of wax has greatly improved.
- Estimated $3.50 - $4.00 price for individual units. Higher quantity deals with lower unit prices will be available.

We really want to compete with large retailer prices, and hopefully once we find the the right (quality) ingredients, we can offer them at better prices. The first complete run should be available in the store early next month (We hope).

The majority of our efforts have been focused on con preparation and recovery, so we apologize for our slower development in new and improved products.

Hey all.

Con*Tact has future plans to rebrand a lot of it's scents to accommodate sci-fi, anime, and general computer nerd audiences. ex: Green Tea will be "Jasmine Dragon Tea house" (Avatar). Wasteland will be Sith Lord (Starwars) And good news for Aeronaut fans, Aeronaut will be "Brown Coat" (Firefly). None of this is set in stone and this is an enormous amount of work that will take a long time to get done. Feel free to make any suggestions. :)

Soap Price has been increased. This change has been on the table for a long time now, and with material mark ups we wouldn't survive without our own price increase. (Sorry that we did not make better announcements for this.)

Right now we're not releasing a lot of new scents, so our demand to find new artists is at a low point. We're interested in lots of you that applied, and as soon as something that fits your style comes up. We'll get in touch. <3

First up, some bad news

Con*tact Is going to be raising it's prices on soap in the future by 1.00$ each. Single bars of soap will match our at con prices of 6.00$ per single. This change has been on the table for a long time now, and with material mark ups we wouldn't survive another holiday season without our own mark up. This price change wont go into effect now, but it will be in the future.

Cucumber Roll will be discontinued after this weekend. See extra information on batch orders below.

Aeronaut will be discontinued at the end of april. Wild Coyote has dominated the leather scent position, and Aeronaut is firmly down on the floor in sales.

Now good news!

Special batch orders of 12 bars of soap or Den warmers are still available. This includes most discontinued scents, and alterations of scents, labels, colors and such. Prices depend on the variables. Email contactcaffeine[at]gmail.com for more information.

We're testing new sticker papers and looking at new products to improve the quality and presentability of the labels/stickers. Limited edition foil stickers for selective occasions are also being tested.

Cucumber roll is on the chopping block to be discontinued at the end of this month. Due to low sales.

I'm looking for some feedback on our solid perfume Scent markings and our soy wax tart Den warmers.

Some key features I'm looking for feedback in...

Den warmers.
- How do you use the product? Do you melt it in a traditional way, or perhaps you keep them in cabinets, purses or your now less stinky fursuit head?
- What type of wax simmering product do you use? Scentsy, dragon sculpture from shady hippy shop, cheap Walmart wax warmer?
- Once melting, how long did it last you?
- Just for fun. your favorite scents.

Scent markings.
- How long has it lasted you? Are you the first person ever to actually use a whole tube?
- What do you think of the product in general.
- Just for fun, your favorite scents.

While it's fun to talk about and suggest how we should make a new cheeseburger, pickles, purple flower and sunshine smelling soap. in this journal entry I'm only actually looking for feedback on the mentioned products.

Hi guys and gals!

Things have been pretty busy here in the soap mines. We just rolled out three new soaps recently.

Egyptian Dragon. Bold and magical. The newest to the dragon line.

Grizzly Ridge. 's new favorite scent. Grizzly Ridge fits right in with Werewolf and Sex Panther as one of our top masculine scents.

Neutrality. Simply our own soap base, without any dyes or scents added. The people demanded it. So we made it!

In the new technology department has been working on some new chap-stick like products called "Lip stuff". New art, new flavors, new products and lots to come.

Lots of preview pictures have been updated and added to the site. Now with less frost!

Oh, how we'd love to spend every weekend at a different convention! But alas, it's a lot of work for us to get our merchandise ready to sell, and for us to get time blocked out, tickets bought, hotels paid for, let alone hundreds of pounds of stuff shipped.

We're not big enough to go to every convention that everyone wants us to, but that doesn't mean there can't be a Con*Tact presence at your con.

Did you know? FA: U gave full bars of Con*Tact in their sponsor gift bags in 2011. What an awesome, unique thing! We absolutely loved working with them, and would love to work with your convention, too. Email contactcaffeine[at]gmail.com , we're able to come up with custom scents, do custom labels using your own con's artwork, we might even be able to do custom molds with enough lead time. And you don't have to get our caffeine soap, we're able to make all of our soaps without caffeine in our same high quality handmade base.

First off, thanks for your interest! We love working with artists within the furry fandom, and love giving new artists a chance to shine and get their names out there. Our products ship all around the world, so as a Con*Tact artist, you'll get as much exposure as we possibly can. Talking up our artists is one of the best parts of what we do, and adding new artists to the team is always fun.

We offer our artists their choice of 6 bars of soap, mixed and matched with decafs, or 1:1 if you'd rather have perfumes. We will link the artist's gallery (and/or email address, at the artist's request) on the page highlighting their artwork with the matched soap. I've been trying to make sure our artists get a small stack of their stickers for their own personal collection, too.

Historically, we used to hold contests to let people compete for slots in our labels, but nowadays we try to match the right artist to the right artwork. So here's what we need from you, if you want a chance to illustrate a Con*Tact label:

1) Send us a note, and in the title, tell us what you enjoy drawing (ex, "Unicorns, Fantasy, Flowers")
2) In the body of the note, give us some links of your favorte/best drawings. Adult artwork is acceptable in examples, although all of our labels are PG at most. Make sure to include at least one example of a piece with a full background (something more than just a solid color).
3) If you have anything you're really itching to draw, such as "I really want to draw a seahorse in a tropical reef, I think it'd be awesome for _________ scent", go ahead and include that. We've been inspired before!
4) Tell us what your turnaround time is on full color artwork. Technical requirements are 300dpi/ppi, CMYK, 4"X4". The template is here.

Remember, take your time on the note. It's not a race! The note you send is going to set our impression of you, so showing that you can follow directions goes a long way with us. If you are uncomfortable using the notes system here on FA, or don't have a FurAffinity account, you can email your application to contactcaffeine[at]gmail.com .

We try to be very reasonable with deadlines (between 2-4 weeks), and are willing to work with artists to come up with something agreeable for both parties.

All of that considered, we always have to keep the final product in mind when we're designing new labels. While we'll try to give every artist a chance, there is a level of quality that we want to maintain in all of our work. Don't let that discourage you from applying, though! Maybe we just haven't seen how awesome your artwork is yet. :)
