Hey all! Long time no type - haven't really had much to report on the past 3 years, the world kinda went to hell and back for us all.

So I don't really expect much in terms of a response, but I'd super appreciate it regardless if you could provide some input to this.

Over the past year, intermittently, I've been working on a story with the absolute bane of my existence,  Xywolf and it has honestly become the longest single thing I've written in my life. It's currently sat at around 25k words, and will definitely be getting a lot more added to it.
As it's grown and evolved, the idea of getting this published came to mind more than once, and I suppose the question I'd be asking - would be if people would be interested in seeing something like this made physical.

I've picked up a good few new techniques, as well as experimented with new methods of storytelling (at least in my skill set) so the things I have posted up on FA over my tenure here aren't so much point of reference, at least not good ones to say the least.

From what started as a lockdown bit of entertainment, has now honestly become a bit of a passion project. Should the interest be there, I'd love to be able to share all of this with the wider world.

So! I know it's been a little while since I've made a journal, but I'm super stoked to announce that I'll be going to MFF this November!!!

With the amazing talents of  Sykes and  papa we've managed to get a room at the Hyatt sorted and I honestly couldn't be happier.

I'll be travelling stateside just before MFF to spend Thanksgiving with  Sykes then heading over to Illinois for a few days for the convention.

If any of you who read this are going, drop a message! I'd love to meet up with new people and hang and such!

So, things in the life department had been getting so much better for me...I'd gotten myself a stable job, super happy, super comfortable.

Today, the next weeks timesheets went up. Lets say, everyone was pissed. Everyone has been epically fucking shafted. All of our hours have been cut to save company money....and I've been reduced from a 5 day working week, to two four hour shifts a week...That doesn't even make rent for me, let alone food, transport and medicine.

I just don't fucking know any more. I honestly thought I had turned shit around but yeah, obviously not!

So, my birthday was....well, unremarkable, I suppose? I hadn't got any expectations for it being amazing, so I guess Im not disappointed. It was tricky though. Both parents and sister are emotionally volatile right now, so I was left to diffuse any arguments that started up. Not exactly what I wanted to do on my Birthday.
After seeing my family for all of 3 and a half hours whilst we ate, they all went to bed by 8-30. Leaving me alone downstairs.

Despite having people in the house, I have felt utterly alone all week, more so last night.

Im now sat, alone, downstairs, because dad has gone out form some reason or another, not that I blame him, he is allowed to have time to himself today, since it is the funeral later today, and mom, I think she is working in the morning, then coming home for the funeral.

But yeah, day yesterday, meh...I know it comes with ages, less stuff happening, but Im not someone who usually goes out and throws huge parties, masses of friends and family ECT....but it was...yeah. Lonely.

Today - as I said, Funeral later on. We've got that...parade in the limo to the place, despite it being against the deceased's wants, his wife insisted...then after being told it'll be the funeral then we can go home, but no. We are having 'tea and such' afterwards.

Oh and its raining.

I honestly couldn't care much over the past few days...Thank you for any and all birthday wishes, despite my moods, I do appreciate them, I just cant muster the enthusiasm.

I'm sorry to anyone that I may be coming across to as either blunt, or emotionless right now.

It's not that I'm purposely trying to be a dick, I'm just emotionally exhausted.

I'm currently mourning the loss of a family member.

I appreciate your understanding, for those who were around when I lost my grandmother a few years ago, they know I do not handle death very well at all.

Well, we at the UKOtaku Podcast might have the delightful dose of Weeaboo just for you!

The podcast has been running for some time now, and covers everything from weekly Japan news, reviews of Anime, Manga and Videogames, as well as a few sneaky western things from time to time.
A recent addition to the Podcast is Folk Tales (Wooo ooh~!) where our lord and master, nooJ tells us a lovely story of Japanese Folk-ness-ness, some you may have heard, some might be obscure.
We also have recently added Phrase of the Pod-cast which hopefully will help anyone new to learning the Japanese language improve their skills!

Also, each week we have a segment of the show called 'OST WARS', where three of our hosts choose an OST from a videogame based on a particular theme, and the listeners decide by voting, who wins the honor of getting that track put into the UKOtaku hall of Fame - or the Hall of Briggy as it should probably be known!

Some of you might have noticed lately that my mood has been in the gutter, or I've been having rather spontaneous mood swings.

Yeah, I just ask for you to put up with it for now...hopefully, it'll pass soon enough. I'm still just having a lot of trouble with my life and health, and my emotions are taking the full brunt of it.

Honestly, I'm not sure what can help or whatever, it's probably just another one of those things I'll have to work on my own, despite having support from people.

It's brought a few rather, negative revelations through my mind, which hasn't really helped my mood. At least I know where to change myself when I'm done being so pathetic.

I don't know how long this is going to go on for.

I don't know how well I'll come out of it.

But I will, eventually. Better, or worse, who knows~

- Hair Style/Colour: Not really 'Styled' as such. Cross between 'Emo Fringe' with Wild 90's Surfer look when it grows out? I also have colored 'Slices' in my fringe, though I haven't had it topped up in a few months, so it's faded to the bleached blonde undercolor now, with a bluey-green tint to it from the original Blue I had in it.

- Been on stage: Yes, Multiple times :D Was on various stage performances for Local Pantomimes, I have also been 'Oberon, King of the Fairies' from Midsummers Night Dream, which is so far my star role ;D and I have performed when I was with a band back in College.

- Changed who you were to fit in: Yup. Childhood wasn't the best, so I was always desperately trying to fit in. Didn't work in the end. Managed to find my place eventually though :>

Not so much as a bad thing, but more of a 'Keeping people in the Know' sorta thing - as it's 3am and I have little else to do right now than make this journal, then get back to reading a book.

As some of you might now, I suffer from Chronic Stones Disease, meaning I produce Kidney Stones at a stupidly elevated rate. So many so, that I have genuinely lost count of how many I have had in the past 5 years.

The doctors have tried all sorts but unfortunately, none of that seems to work, and my pain has increased over the past few months.

Originally, I had been told to manage my own pain - which I still have to do, with a delightful cocktail of Co-Codamol, and Tramadol. This stuff, however amusing some of the highs might be, where I have hallucinated so much to the point I spent 2 days thinking I was the Red Power Ranger, then a Week ontop of that thinking I was Batman, it seriously affects my day to day living. I might not suffer the hallucinations any more to the same extent, but I cannot go to University, or sleep at a reasonable time any more due to the effects.

Recently, I have been put on another medication, Amitriptyline, which typically, is used as an anti-depressant, however it does have some pain-killing effects, and 'should' help with the sleep issues. It doesn't seem to help me sleep in the slightest any more, it just makes the waking up extremely difficult, as every part of me feels heavy, and the world seems to be moving in 'slow motion'.

The doctors are really just trying to see what they can get working and such, yet my body has a remarkable rate of tolerance to medication, to which I have to up dosage, or take breaks, and be in pain, just to get the relief another day, to reset the tolerance levels.

I'm not really asking for any help or advice, since I've done research into this on my own, and there's not really a whole lot that can be done.

It's just me, 3am, on my medication, making the world know that I am still well, if not frustrated at my own stupid body for doing silly things, and not being able to sleep and such.

I am literally in the worst of moods right now.

I will be away from home from this afternoon until late Wednesday evening (31st)

Off to Tokala's tonight to meet up with Dutchy, then off to MCM expo tomorrow morning for the whole weekend with Toka, Dutchy, Dasker, Ari, Iks, Anti, the whole family pretty much :3

MCM ends on Sunday, but on the Monday, I will be off with Ikari, and Ari, and one of my other friends, back to Ikari's house for the night, before adventuring up to Birmingham for 2 days to help Ubisoft with the Assassin's Creed 3 and Assassin's Creed: Liberation release as they are holding a huge release party for it.

If you are going to MCM expo, you might see me :3 I will probably only be cosplaying on the Saturday with Ember. I will be going as Minato from Persona 3, and she will be Minako from P3P.

There is a slim chance I 'might' wear my Assassin's gear, but it would be best to check my twitter for updates as I should still be able to access that :3

So, a delightful red-panda/lion/thing~ had her account hacked the other day, and for some perplexing reason, the offender deleted all submissions and such, and changed all her passwords.

Fortunately, she is smaaaaarrrrt~ and has all of her stuff backed up.

So, just in case she can't get access to her old account back, just passing on a message for you to go forth and watch  Garnetto because she is one of the most lovely people I know :3

So, just got back from the GP down the road from me, he was a lovely man called Wolfgang :D

Anyway, the update from today, is that I should keep on my course of meds, and take control of my own pain still.
Surprisingly, I was given more Tramadol in case of an attack again, or my 'Batman/Power Ranger' pills. I usually get 12-24 of them....I GOT 100 OF THEM :I

So...they should last me a fair while...

I also was given advice to acquire a TENS machine, or a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulator. It is a small, mobile phone shaped device, with two gel electrode pads attached to it, which are placed against the area in pain. It sends an electrical current through them, and 'counters the pain' with the stimulation. It's odd.

I tried it out on my arm and I can say, it was a very strange sensation indeed!

These are of course for my kidneys, and I will probably just hook it up to myself and keep it in my pocket throughout the week, just to play it safe. The GP says they're pretty good, and if it doesn't work, I can take it back~

I am open to various sorts of pain remedies, right now, other than Tramadol. However funny it is me being not all there, and thinking I am a Power Ranger, or Batman, I'd rather try something else.

Next stage is trying out some Acupuncture, maybe. I'm not too sure about the idea, but I'm curious as hell as to what it's like.

Anyone have any experiences with both TENS (since I haven't really used it properly yet), and acupuncture?
