Back home! (Long vacation recap)
Posted 8 years agoHeyo peoples. Bleu and I made it back from our trip in one piece last night. I've been super lazy about writing this journal but I did want to do a full writeup of what we did on our vacation so here goes. :)
Okay okay so umm we left on the 20th and that day was purely for travel. It took us roughly 12 hours (13 when you account for the time zone deficit) and it was pretty smooth sailing getting there. We started Harry Potter book 1 as read by Sir Jim Dale cause Bleu's never heard or read the books before. Our arrival time was 11pm local time so there wasn't much time to do anything but get comfortable and go to sleep....after going through the extensive attire we were going to be wearing for my dad's wedding. Holy cow, I did not know kilts were so complicated. xD
We spent a good amount of Friday just getting prepared for the wedding the next day. We hung out with my dad and stepmom and finalized their arrangements and things. We didn't do anything incredibly noteworthy this day.
Saturday was my dad's wedding. As you might've guessed, all of Saturday was dedicated to that. Naturally we were scrambling and trying to get everything ready for the ceremony. We ended up driving all around the city picking up catering and dropping off decorations and trying to find spare sporrans (the "fanny pack" piece of a kilt) at this downtown shop. The ceremony was fantastic and I loved wearing a kilt. We got to keep our kilts and I look forward to finding excuses to put it on again. >_> We took a lot of photos with immediate and extended family and had a ton of fun. My dad actually lost his engagement ring during the exchanging of rings and we had to halt the ceremony while several people looked around on the floor for it. It turned out to be stuck on his kilt. xD
In case you missed it, here's a picture of Bleu and I in our kilts at the ceremony: https://twitter.com/CodyFops/status.....12975655628800
My dad and stepmom had a little mini vacation for a few days, so we spent most of Sunday hanging out with my mom and grandma. Before doing that we went to the Hogle Zoo with my older brother, his fiancee, and my niece and nephew. That was a total blast cause they've made some major improvements since the last time I was there. I took a ton of photos that I could probably upload somewhere at some point. We also got new plush friends because we're us. I got a snow leapord and Bleu got a giraffe. Once we were done with the zoo we went over to my grandma's house and played dominoes. Let me tell you this: if you think online games are competitive, try playing a board game with retired seniors. xD It was great fun though. I hadn't played dominoes in like a decade so it was nostalgic to my childhood, playing board games with family at birthday parties. After that we went out to eat at Mimi's Cafe to celebrate my mom's birthday and then we went home.
Monday and Tuesday were pretty uneventful days. We pretty much just sat around and watched movies or tv while hanging out with family. We did play this fun game after dinner on Tuesday though. It's like telephone and pictionary combined: everyone is given a secret word and you have to draw it out. You pass the drawings left and have to guess the word based just off the drawing, then pass and the next person draws the guessed word and so-forth until the book is passed back to the original person. The results are pretty damn funny. XD The best guess was when "Backpack" became "Driving a car up a volcano while some dude mows his lawn." That made me and my sister laugh so hard we were coughing and pouring tears. xD
Wednesday my stepmom was working so we went and checked out the aquarium with my dad. Just like the zoo, it was massively better than the last time I'd been there. They moved locations and it doesn't look anything like the last time I was there. They've got several areas filled with both aquarium life and even a few land exhibits too. My favorite thing was this walkthrough shark tank where you can see all the sharks swimming around you and overhead. I got a good video of the shark tank and several dozen pictures from there. The only thing I didn't like was the 4D movie we watched there because it kept spraying us at random times and scaring the shit out of me. :I
Thursday was our last day in Salt Lake. We went out with my mom for the last time and played glow-in-the-dark mini golf, then did a game of bowling before departing. The rest of the evening was spent hanging out with my dad and stepmom. We played several games of Clue and it's just as fun as I remember it being as a kid. ^_^ I was Professor Plum cause I like his name. I never killed Mr. Boddy. Bleu did though. Multiple times. >_>
Friday morning we set out to spend our weekend with Cody. The trip was again pretty straightforward and we were able to finish Harry Potter book 1. We arrived around 4pm and checked into our hotel where Cody was already waiting for us. After getting settled we checked out a local adult diaper business before it closed for the weekend. I picked up sample packs of Tykables Overnights and ABU Lavenders to try out. :3 After that we spent the remainder of the evening enjoying each others' company. <3 Had a pizza party that night and watched movies too ^_^
Saturday we all went to this nearby mall and wandered around window shopping. I love window shopping ^_^ We went to Build-A-Bear and all made plushes together. This was Cody's first time going to Build-A-Bear and it was fun guiding him through building his first animal. He got a snow tiger named Oreo, Bleu got an Easter bunny named Trisha, and I got Rocket Raccoon. The mall trip was everybody's favorite part of the weekend. It's always fun to have more fun than you expect doing something. ^^ The rest of the day we spent together doing...boyfriend things. :3
Sunday was a shorter day for us all since we had to get back to our daily lives. We checked out, walked around for a while, and ate lunch before saying goodbye. Bleu and I made the drive home and finished with our tradition of having In N Out as the final meal to round off a trip. Tah dah. :3
Thanks for reading. ^^

We will be gone from tomorrow until May 1st. I will still be semi-active on Twitter and Telegram throughout the trip and that'll be the easiest way to reach me.

Heart Person (PLEASE READ)
Posted 8 years agoGot a lot to say so let's get right into it. First things first, posting this on (technically still) April Fool's Day is probably not a good idea cause this isn't a joke and can easily be construed as such. :P
As of March 25, 2017, I began dating YoKitCody. I haven't spoken about it publicly because frankly, I wanted some time to enjoy it quietly, and I do not regret that. I am now happily dating both BabyBleu and YoKitCody
Going to visit with Cody a few weeks back helped solidify something I'd been feeling inside myself for a long time. I met Cody on Twitter last year and we started talking more frequently as timed passed. I was passing through his town last October so we decided to meet up for a day to hang out. I still remember before leaving thinking to myself "I like this guy. I want to make him my cub." and sure enough, soon after getting back I asked him. I could tell there was something else there but I didn't quite understand it. That weekend with him brought it all to certainty for me. After I got back, we talked nonstop. I shared my feelings with him and I was glad to discover they were shared. I spoke with others to help sort through what I wanted and how to make sure it was okay. I talked extensively with Bleu and Cody. I even talked with somebody who has been involved in a relationship of this nature for 16+ years and has managed to make it work. All of this, especially the last bit, really helped me a ton.
I had considered a polyamorous relationship with another in the past, but time passed and we realized our love was not romantic and we were best off as we were. With Cody it was different. Everything was different. It was confusing and made sense at the same time. I love Bleu and I always will, but I wanted to be with Cody too and I knew that. Was it so crazy to be with both people I loved? I'm here now happy an unashamed to say that I love my sweethearts Bleu and Cody and without them I wouldn't be complete. Thank you both so much for making me a better person
I was talking to YoKitCody tonight and I came to realize that I am what I've decided to call a "heart person." What is that? Well lemme tell ya. A heart person is somebody that acts with his heart. Simple right? He lets his emotions play the major role in what he does. He's passionate and sometimes (okay, often) impulsive and takes risks to achieve things he wants. His friendships are his highest priority and he's prone to making hasty decisions. He's not shy to let people know what they mean to him.
Heart people are a danger to themselves. They can be easy to hurt because emotion takes precedent over logic. Heart people pair very well with head people. Head people prioritize logic over emotion. They are less likely to take risks and often ignore emotions. They take more time before making a move. They're less likely to be hurt because their actions are planned and deliberate.
The reason I love Bleu and Cody is because they are head people. They can defeat my impulsivity with logic. They can reel me in and help me from making rash decisions. I'm good for them too because I'm a constant reminder of the importance of having fun and appreciating your loved ones. I'm able to help them experience more things they wouldn't likely do on their own. I like to think that, in order to be happy, you should have a good balance of emotion and logic in the decisions you make and the actions you take. They are the yin to my yang. :3
Alright, this journal's long enough. Thanks for reading.

My Cub Identity
Posted 8 years agoGreetings and salutations. I want to take this time to write a long overdue updated version of this old journal I did years back on my old account. It pertains to my identity in the cub community and what it means to me.
First off, here's my version of common cub terms as I use them (I define them because there's not a standard for what they mean and I want to avoid confusion)
Cub - A member of the furry fandom that has at least one main fursona that is not of adult age.
Babyfur - A cub whose fursona is in the age range of 1-3
Littlefur - A cub whose fursona is in the age range of 4-12
Teenfur - A cub whose fursona is in the age range of 13-17
So why are you a cub?
As a kid I had two wonderful parents that gave me all the love and support I could have asked for. I'm not like many cubs in that regard; I didn't come from a broken home or have an abusive parent/family member/caregiver. I was...shielded. I was always given a fish, never taught to fish. I came to rely upon them to the point of dependency and when it came time for me to begin my life as an adult I felt massively under-equipped to do even more basic things like cooking. I'd come to rely on my dad in particular and it wasn't apparent just how bad I was until I moved away from home. Over time I've come to figure things out for myself and I'm better off now than I used to be but my upbringing was crippling to my adulthood in a different way.
What kinds of things do you do?
My interests are not exactly uncommon ones for a cub. I love to act like a kid and I do it all the time without thinking about it. Over the years I taught myself how to tame these actions when necessary but every so often they slip out against my will. When I am around people that know that I'm a cub, kid mode is pretty much always on. I love things that are tailored toward kids: kids movies and TV shows, plushies, dinosaur shaped foods, some toys to name a few of the numerous things I could spend all night trying to list separately. I love being around others that share my same mindset and tend to get along with them more than serious folks. I love to draw cubs in situations that I can no longer take part in since entering adulthood. It is my way of keeping those cherished memories alive and living them again to an extent. I like being the "big kid" cub which....tends to work out as most cubs are younger than Cody. I like the idea of being in charge but not having too many responsibilities.
As a Littlefur
As a member of the cub community I'm often called a babyfur, which probably doesn't seem like a big deal and really it's not. I prefer to call myself a littlefur because Cody isn't a baby and the term babyfur doesn't seem to fit. I'm not an adult baby either. I'm a kidult. When I'm called a baby I lose part of my identity, part of who I am at my core. I am not going to split hairs if I'm mislabeled as a babyfur but I do have a preference and that preference is a term that more closely fits where I associate myself.
Diapers
I'll get to the point. I probably don't love them as much as most cubs do. No, I'm not sorry. I like diapers. I don't love them.
Up until the day I wrote this journal I'd had Cody wearing diapers. This aspect of my character was something I'd thought about many times over the years. I think I did it in order to try and fit in more with cubs. I like diapers, so why not? In the process, I lost a bit of Cody's identity. The cub community is incredibly hyperfocused on diapers. I've harbored resentment, attempted to embrace it, and done by best to deal with it over time. I'm at peace with this fact now. I don't wish anybody to change themselves and I encourage them to be who they are and love what they love. Hell, I still do too. I made the decision to take my character out of wearing diapers today because Cody is me and I want him to be a reflection of who I am: a fun-loving kid. I don't want to come off as preachy and I want to emphasize that I'm not here to make anybody feel like they're wrong. Do you. Love yourself and be you. I'm just ready to embrace me as I am and not as I assume others want me to be.
That's it. Thanks for reading. :) If you have any questions I'd be more than happy to answer them below.

Major Changes to my Fursona (Please read)
Posted 8 years agoGreetings and salutations. I'm writing tonight to announce a few changes I've made to my fursona. I am going to be posting a more in-depth journal shortly after this one but these two points I don't want to get swallowed up by a much larger journal.
1) I'm taking Cody out of diapers permanently. He will still wear them rarely but he predominantly wears underwear. Preferably with awesome prints.
2) I've gotten rid of the "abandoned young" aspect of Cody because it felt forced and meh.
I have updated my profile bio on my page and ref sheet to reflect these changes as well as a few other smaller things. Another journal to follow shortly. Stay tuned folks~

Christmas Story Hour tomorrow 7pm PST
Posted 9 years agoLooking for (relatively) easy-to-make meals
Posted 9 years agoHey hey. ^^
About a month or two back I decided that I wanted to start actually making an effort to cook meals once in a while. Bleu and I usually just toss something in the oven and call that cooking. I'm fine with that mostly, but I've really wanted to try my hand at actually making food. I've made a commitment to cook a meal once a week and I'm looking for ideas for simple recipes that I can try my hand at.
For my chef friends, any suggestions?

Aaaaand Christmas cards are sent!
Posted 9 years agoAlrighty guys, for those of you that asked for a card, they are in the mail and on their way to you. We'd love to hear about you getting them! It helps us know they made it to you safely!
We somehow sent more cards this year than last year (which has become an awesome tradition ^^ ) and we even ran out of cards. That's the first time we've run out of cards so yay! That means more Christmas joy being sent out to great friends. <3
If you didn't get a card, hope you have a good Christmas regardless and know that you are loved.

1) The cards are free
2) We will send anywhere in the world
3) If you want one, all you must do is send us a note with your name and address
4) They look like this: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/21824411/

We will send them anywhere in the world. Don't be shy if you'd like one. :3
If you want a card send either of us a note with your name and address. ^^
(They're free! I was asked so I wanted to make sure this was clear for everybody)

Posted 9 years agoSame time, different venue! We're going to be on Picarto from now on. I'll post a link tomorrow but if you know my username you can probably find the stream on Picarto without much help if you wanted to know it beforehand. :P
