My boyfriend Adam, of 6 and a half years, planned a wonderful day for me yesterday. First there was a walk in the park (it started to drizzle, had to cut it shorter than he wanted) then he took me to get my hair done, and then we went for supper at an upscale steakhouse in town. Dinner was amazing, the Piña Colada was devine. But nothing could have prepared me for what happened next.

He looked at me and I knew. I'd had a suspicion, and was pretty damn sure all week what was coming, but I just couldn't have prepared for the moment. He spoke of how when my brother and his girlfriend announced they were going to have Peyton, it started his gears turning. He started remembering all our years together and thought of life without me and couldn't bear the thought of me not being in his life and said "I want to keep you forever." I melted. Totally broke down as he got to one knee and pulled the ring from his pocket. I was so happy, and speechless.

So naturally, once I regained my composure, I said yes. The older couple in the booth beside us were watching and as they left, said congrats to us. Our server was in on the deal and he brought us some bubbly on the house. Then the female servers descended on the table and just HAD to look at the ring, which, by the way... is stunning. (Pic below)

I'm so happy right now... just wow. I love my fiancé!

I'm 25 now. Thanks in advance for any birthday wishes!

So Wednesday is my hatchday, and I've got mixed feelings. I turn 25 and that signals a true end to my youth. Most would say that 30 is more significant of that milestone, but I beg to differ. I've considered myself a 'grown-up' for many years now, probably since about my 19th birthday. I mentally grew up long before I should have, at least in my eyes. I won't bore you with the details, but suffice it to say I was a very mature young lady in my teen years.

It's been a bitter sweet week. My first niece was born on Halloween morning, but my Great Uncle Richard, who was like a grandfather to me and my cousins, passed away Friday night. I suppose it could be said that for every life that leaves us, another takes it's place.

On a personal front, I don't know whether or not to consider myself a success at this point in life. I'm not in the career I want to be or went to school for... (graphic design) I'm not a prolific furry artist like I had hoped to become by now, and I'm just not sure what to do about it.

On the plus side of life, Adam and I are enjoying our apartment and new car. I am still elated about my niece and I'm dying to see her! I'll get to do that in about a week and a half. I have a sneaking suspicion that some news may be brought your way in the very new future.

If you've read all this, I applaud you and thank you for caring. :)

I don't really have a birthday list for here as I rarely get gift art with the exception of the odd piece from Kaa or Draekos but if the occasion inspires you, any Cipher art would be warmly appreciated and I would probably tip the artist too!

My niece was born at 12:22 this morning, right on schedule. She's gorgeous, and weighed in at 7 lbs even and 21 inches long. Both baby (Peyton) and Momma are doing just fine. Labour was short and sweet and was born minutes after moms water broke. I'm so happy for them, but I'm upset that I can't be there right now. I'm 450km away and unable to leave work to go up north. I'll be going up in a couple of weeks, and maybe that's for the best, giving my brother and sister-in-law time to get into a routine.

EDIT: So it has come to my attention that 'Durp' icons are passé and not worth doing because they were a fad... Do I even bother continuing to offer them? Odds are, no one has even read this journal. I have 300+ watchers and how many have read this whole journal? Sometimes I wonder why I bother trying. I have been toying with the idea for months now, and I think I'm going to make it official.

Cipher is now a herm.

You might ask: "But why!? She was so kickass as a woman!"

Well, I've always felt that Cipher is... how shall I say this... and extension of myself. She has embodied everything I have always been, and some things that I wish I were.

The things we both are:
- no-nonsense, straight up, honest tomboys
- sassy, and confident
- easy to get along with, but don't get on our bad side

Things I wish I could be, that she is:
- a dragon
- athletic and built (I used to be, but in recent years have let myself go for reasons from stress to injuries. I'm working on changing that, but it's a slow process)

With that said, I've always had a weird fascination with male genitalia... Put simply, I'm fascinated with dicks. There are days when I wish I had one, but at the same time, refuse to give up what makes me a woman. The solution? Make Cipher a herm. Through hir, I can live out a fantasy that otherwise would not be possible.

Does this change hir dramatically? Well, yes and no. Shi's still the same character, just has more to hir now... both literally and physically.

I hope this change goes over well with those that watch me or those that care. That group is probably relatively small, but still. I feel like it matters.
