Awesome new materials!
General | Posted 13 years agoYou all know my awesome deals on laser-cut acrylic badges? Well, they're about to get a LOT cooler. my supplier, Inventables, just got in some amazing new acrylic materials. These acrylic sheets are multicolored! That's right, you etch away one color on the surface, and you get a new color underneath. Anyone for green badges with white lettering? Or silver with black lettering? Maybe a more retro black with gold lettering?
The best thing about it? I get to keep my old pricing, even for these acrylics! Check out their new supply here!

happy birthday to me!
General | Posted 19 years agoit's my birthday on sunday! MWAHA!!!
last few birthdays have pretty much sucked. either from nothing happening, getting half-assed gifts/redone gifts, being generally depressed about somethingorother, or people forgetting entirely. but, yeah, life sucks. so i'll buck up and face whatever happens.
so to all those who wish me well, thanks.
and everyone who has a birthday as well, congratulations on surviving another year!

headshots-o-rama FREE PHOTOMANIP! [EDIT]
General | Posted 20 years agookay, let's face it, i can't draw worth shit, but i CAN photomanip faces with the best of them! i'll post an example later when i can get to it [EDIT] here is the example: http://www.furaffinity.net/art/celt.....f_demoness.jpg
i posted on silverfenrir's journal, so i gotta do this. but, i have to admit, i can't draw all that well. to stay qualified for the headshot, i gotta do one too, so i'll offer headshots that i can actually do WELL.
so, here are the requirements:
1)post on this journal that you want one. the first five will get the headshot photomanips. if i get enough demand, i might boost that up to ten...but i don't know if enough of my watchers would be interested.
2) send me a decent headshot of yourself or someone you want me to work on. something like a school photo in composition; something where you can clearly see the face and eyes especially, you'll see why when i post the example.
3)give me a few hints as to what you want me to do. i can add textures, alter face shape, remove various pieces of flesh (like noses or mouths) and, in general, warp your face to oblivion. if you have no idea what you want, just say 'suprise me' and i'll do my best to do just that!
4) do a free headshots offer for five people on your page too, doing the best you can for whoever you get
the order:
1)Edward Mehalick (done)
2)
3)
4)
5)
and remember, if you comment, you must post the headshots offer in your journal as well!

ACEN, the aftermath
General | Posted 20 years agoFINALLY i get to this. sorry for keeping all of you waiting....whoever was actually waiting for me to do this....anyway, to the recount of events at ACEN!
the first day, me and my sister got dropped off at the stevenson convention center. my sister cosplayed this year as Haruhara Haruko (FLCL) and really apparently did a good job! even before we got to the registration line, she had been asked to be photographed! and after we got our badges, we met up with our guests, who we were going to put up in our house during the con....when we weren't AT the con. we scoped out the merchandising area for a couple hours, and i got the giroro clip plushie here http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200220/ as a gift for a friend of mine who couldn't go.
later, me and my sis watched some anime and listened to some of the music playing in the hallways. it was FUN! after that, we all went to the rave there and played with glowsticks and stuff, listening to some pretty cool DJs too. after that we all went home and slept for about 5 hours.
second day, me, my sister, and our guests all went to ACEN and got in at about 11am, after having had a pancake breakfast provided by yours truly! XD
anyway, after we got there, we headed straight to the exibit hall and checked out the artist alley more closely then we had the past day, and i found this AWESOME artist, rozga-chan, and we got to talking. it was pretty cool! we exchanged account info and stuff and she invited me to a gathering of furry artists that would be going on later at 9pm. after that, i went to the merchandising area and bought a print from Goldenwolf, my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ARTIST OF ALL TIME!!!! i got the one on the left in this pic http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200770/. i also got my little malenco voodoo baby doll thing as seen here http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200220/. get one for yourself, thay are SO awesome!
we then headed back to the artist alley and hung around rozga-chan's booth for a while and pestered her. i folded a bunch of crap and my sister drew a picture in her guestbook.
after the exibit hall closed, we met up with our guests again and their friends and we all hung out, and i got somg AEWSOME japanese candies for singing in the hallways and asking for donations for our little group. we DID get some money too, but i didn't TT-TT.
after a while of that, it was 9pm, so i headed up to meet with the furry artists group there. it hadn't formed yet, so i just sat around waiting for everyone to gather....for half an hour.....
FINALLY, everyone got there, and we played a drawing game to loosen everyone up and just have a HUGE laugh. i still have a few of the drawings, but i'm keeping them private, unless i'm asked by a few people to post them, namely a few of those who were there. i folded a particularly nice piece or art, and traded it with someone there who really liked it for this pic http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/32994309/
after this was all done, we headed home again for anbother 5 hours sleep.
third day, i started off by giving a print of my pic Bluebane's Ancient Dance http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/31422236/ to rozga-chan for her being such a nice host for the furry artist gathering the night before. i think she liked it!
after that, i went into the exibit hall and took advantage of the cheaper prices and got most of the stuff i got overall:
my cloud and baby chocobo pins: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200317/
my tsubasa feather (the candy i had gotten the day prior, as i told you guys): http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200393/
my naruto bookmark and my Kululu gundam model: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200481/
my wolf ears hat: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200554/
and, as a gift for my mom for putting up with everyone and everything, i got her a Goldenwolf print as well, the one to the right in this pic: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/33200770/
after the shopping spree, we headed home for the last time that weekend, this time without aur guests, who went to their OWN home afterwards.
and that's the gist of what we did. oh, and nobody came to say 'hi' to me....i shall cry now TT-TT.
anyway, overall i had a GREAT time there, and i can't WAIT 'till next year!
